  1. blazer says:

Speed at the top of the order and able to cover all that outfield grass. I like this lineup!

  2. Playoffs by 2012 says:

Max “wager” is 100 units on any single line.
All “wagers” must be in multiples of 5 units.
Play as few or as many lines as you’d like.
As always, this is for fun and entertainment purposes.

    Line #1
Total Combined HITS + WALKS by STARLING MARTE in tonight’s game
    Line is 1.5

    Line #2
Total Combined HITS + WALKS by ALEX PRESLEY in tonight’s game
    Line is 1.5

    Line #3
Total Combined REDS + PIRATES players HIT BY PITCH in this 4 game series
    Line is 6.5

Please Note – All games must be considered official games in order for line(s) to be valid. Any postponement, cancellation, or suspension of game(s) will void line(s).

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  3. SeanAY says:

I’ve officially become jealous of NMR…

“Did you hear the news? Warren Haynes will be playing Jerry’s old friend “Wolf” at the upcoming Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebrations beginning tomorrow at Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh, PA.”

    Warren Haynes. On Wolf. WOLF.

  4. stickyweb says:

Nice to see Mercer in there today even though Leake is one of the few pitchers in baseball that Barmes has o.k. numbers against. I think that says a lot about where Hurdle’s mindset is right now.

  5. stickyweb says:

Anyone else think Presley and Marte should switch positions in the field? I know Marte’s played LF all year, and in PNC it makes sense. But in a ballpark with normal dimensions, I’d love to see the Marte cannon in RF

  6. Bizrow says:

Good ones as per usual, Playoffs

    100 Over Line 1
    100 Under Line 2
    100 Under Line 3

  7. stuart66 says:

Playoffs, put me down for 100 kronas each on: 1 – over, 2-over, and 3- Under.

    Thank you, Stuart

  8. Arriba Wilver says:

  9. Matt hoffman says:

    Line #1: 100 under
    Line #2: 100 over
    Line #3: 100 under

  10. stickyweb says:

I love the subtle shot at Greg Brown. I’ll take:

    Line 1 – OVER for 100
    Line 2 – OVER for 100
Line 3 – UNDER for 100 (I’m assuming Dusty gets suspended for the last 3 games of the series)

  11. stickyweb says:

The Friday game thread seems to be restored on the blog. But I can save you some time & trouble. I won all 3 lines and everyone else lost all 3. At least that’s how I remember it ;-)

  12. Nate83 says:

100 on the under for all 3.

  13. Arriba Wilver says:

Put me down with Biz, but for 50 each. OVER, UNDER, UNDER. I’m worried, I’m very worried. :-)

  14. Frankie says:

    Line 1 under

    Line 2 over

    Line 3 under

    100 on each

  15. NMR says:

Serves me right for getting the cheap seats. I say I’d snap a picture for you, friend, but I almost got tossed for trying to photograph Trey when he played with the PSO last winter.

  16. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    I love it!!

I’ll get the full update done this evening and post it.

P.S. – Thanks DK for getting that thread back up.

  17. TCB says:

    #1 – 100, over
    #2 – 100, over
    #3 – 100, under.

As always, thanks for doing this.

  18. NMR says:

Or that he realizes a sample size of 15 decent at-bats means nothing in relation to a career of suck. :)

  19. stuart66 says:

Thanks Playoffs, I thought I had gained some ground!

  20. Jason81 says:

100 on the OVER for Line 1.
100 on the UNDER for Line 2.
100 on the UNDER for Line 3.

  21. JRay3 says:

Good afternoon to the window. Great day for the Bucs to start this key division series with a “w” and put themselves in position for a possible fourth consecutive series win.

Well taking a look at the lines the first two feature the men at the top of the order against Mike Leake. Looking at career numbers, Leake struggles versus both of these guys as Marte is 2-3 and Presley is 8-18 and owns Leake. Have to go with the numbers here.

    Line 1 – 50 on the OVER

    Line 2 – 50 on the OVER

The last line features hit batsmen. For this number to go over it would require three games with multi men hit. One of the games may get out of hand but if it does given the history I think the men calling the games will ensure order is restored.

    Line 3 – 100 on the UNDER

    Thanks and Let’s Go Bucs!

  22. Playoffs by 2012 says:

In the words of the late Harvey Korman from Blazing Saddles—-

    Let’s Go Bucs!!!

  23. pattonbb says:

    Line 1 – 100 UNDER
    Line 2 – 100 OVER
    Line 3 – 100 UNDER

  24. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    No need to thank me.
    Just doing my job.

  25. JRay3 says:

Travis Sawchick reports that CH has spoken to both Mercer and Barmes and has explained Mercer is now the guy.

Saw that coming with five of last six resulting in Jordy starting and Barmes sitting against a pitcher he hits .313 against.

  26. JRay3 says:

Also reports Pirates first round pick is on plane to Pittsburgh to take physical and sign contract tomorrow, the news starting to take a turn for the better.

  27. JRay3 says:

C Reese McGuire the one headed to Pittsburgh.

  28. stickyweb says:

True, but since Barmes defense has turned average and CH discovered that Mercer actually knows which hand to wear his glove on, head-to-head history is all he can fall back on. And the fact that he’s NOT doing it here is very promising.

BTW, “career of suck” is a great phrase and should be used often in other areas. Definitely should be a band’s name.

  29. Jandy says:

    Don’t worry, be happy. :)

  30. TK says:

    Line 1 – 100 on the OVER
    Line 2 – 100 on the OVER
    Line 3 – 100 on the UNDER

  31. stickyweb says:

Great news on all fronts, JRayTrey. Now we just need the Buccos raise the roger tonight and Marte and Presley set the table.

  32. Jandy says:

    Playoffs, please give me 100 units each line.#1 over.#2 under.and #3 under.thanks!

  33. JaxBuc says:

Marte’s arm would definietely be an advantage in RF. However, with a LHP throwing, will the Reds have more guys hitting from the right side, with more balls hit to left? I’d rather have the more fundamentally sound guy getting more plays.

  34. JUCOFan says:

    Line 1 — 100 under
    Line 2 — 100 under
    Line 3 — 100 under

  35. JaxBuc says:

Please sir, may I have 100 on the UNDER for Line 1
and 100 on the OVER for LIne 2?

I’m staying VERWY, VERWY far away from line 3.

  36. NMR says:

Haha, no, I think you’re definitely right in your first post. I was just throwing a jab at Hurdle for a previous pet peeve.

  37. stickyweb says:

Good point. I didn’t think about us throwing a lefty, I only pictured Votto and Bruce hitting a few to right. But maybe Liriano gets them on Ks!

  38. Brandie says:

    Darling, Dearest Mr. Playoffs,

May I have 50 units on each line? The lines are as follows: Line #1 is over, Line #2 is under, and Line #3 is under.

    Thank you. I appreciate it.

  39. Jim S. says:

I think it does make sense to switch them around depending on the park. I guess you have to maximize not only Marte’s arm but his ability to run down balls, which exceeds Presley’s ability to do that.

  40. Brandie says:

Went to see Mark Karen and Melvin Seals in Terrapin Flyer this past weekend at a festival in tiny Milmont, Pa. It was wonderful.

  41. Brandie says:

  42. Playoffs by 2012 says:

  43. Playoffs by 2012 says:

  44. Jim S. says:

Barmes is 7/13 lifetime vs. Greinke. Imagine how he felt when the other Clint left him out of the lineup? I imagine the conversation went something like:

CB: “Skip … uh, I noticed I’m not in the lineup vs. Greinke today.”
    CH: “You noticed correctly.”
CB: “But, I’m 7/13 lifetime vs. Greinke.”
CH: “Yeah, I knew that. But, I cut the lifetime stuff off at a minimum of 15 AB’s.”
CB: “Seriously? But, I haven’t been 7/13 vs any other pitchers in the whole league.”
CH: “Yeah, I also knew that. It helped in my decision-making. Keep your glove handy. I might need someone for the late innings.”

Just kidding, of course. Barmes seems to be a good teammate and a good guy, and I’m sure it is difficult to see the handwriting on the wall. He probably needs to find another team for next year, and he probably won’t be offered starter money again.

  45. Jim S. says:

Raise the Jolly Roger and lower that stupid Cincinnati Reds baseball head thingy.

  46. Brandie says:

I would rather stick a pin in it and watch it go flat.

  47. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Line 1: 100 under

    Line 2: 100 under

    Line 3: 100 under

  48. cmat0829 says:

    100 units por favor:

    1. UNDER
    2. OVER
    3. UNDER… unless there is an allout brawl game.. i can see Shoo getting hit and Marte but only because they are great in doing that…

  49. blazer says:

I’ll take the under for all 3 for 100 please.

  50. Bill Born says:

    100 on line #1 and #2
    Both under the 1.5

  51. theplanisworking says:

  52. Lad9 says:

    Line 1 Over
    Line 2 Under
    Line 3 Under.

Line 3 is awesome! Thanks Playoffs. Go Buccos!

  53. cherokee23 says:

    100 over, over, under

  54. Ermine says:

    #1 100 under

    #2 100 over

    #3 100 under

  55. theplanisworking says:

  56. Keith says:

    100 on the OVER.
    100 on the UNDER.
    100 on the UNDER.

  57. theplanisworking says:

    Mister Playoffs…………….

    may I have the following………..

Line 1 — 100 Hippos on the OVER
Line 2 — 100 Hippos on the OVER

Line 3 is a weird one, and I may be the only person to think this way, but…………
Choo and Marte are #’s 1 and 2 in the league in HBP. Even if beanball doesnt break out, those 2 players could break 6.5 by themselves.

Line 3 — 100 Hippos on the OVER.

    Thanks Playoffs.

  58. radio wave says:

At playoffs: I will take 75 on the over for both lines one into. I will take 100 on the under for line 3.

  59. Daquido_Bazzini says:

Watch out for heads!!!!…It’s Dusty Baker’s Reds.

  60. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Nothing previous about that pet peeve

  61. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

I think his numbers against Greinke were actually pretty good too

  62. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    NEGATIVE Ghost Rider….

  63. Barb says:

The Reds Head reminds me of a demented bobble head.

  64. Barb says:

I see the time stamp is still waaaaaaaaaaay off.

  65. Arriba Wilver says:

    I forgot about Choo.

  66. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Now I wouldn’t mind Barmes as a late inning entry.

  67. Arriba Wilver says:

Only if you don’t live in Alaska. Which is close to Winnipeg, right?

  68. theplanisworking says:

Thanks for the kind words, and not killing me on the other thread for dare bringing up the NBA.

  69. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Reports are worth close the slot of $2.57Mil

At first I wasn’t a fan of this whole draft thing, but it might work out in the long run for everybody.

Draft picks are signing earlier than they used to. At least some. There will always be the Mark Appeal’s out there.

  70. JD says:

100 on the over for line 1 & 2 please. Let’s Go Bucs!

  71. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

I used to live in Alaska…….amazing place

  72. theplanisworking says:

or, as that snake-looking fool, Dusty Baker would say……….

    Lets play some beanball!

  73. JD says:

“Career of suck”. Good one, I like it!

  74. JRay3 says:

More encouraging Bucs news from Travis Sawchick…Wandy Rodriguez threw off a mound today and felt good according to CH.

Hopefully this is a positive indication that he is closer to rejoining rotation.

  75. Brandie says:

I blame DK. This was his last parting shot at us before his vacation.

  76. Brandie says:

Dusty Baker’s head looks like his neck blew a bubble.

  77. Barb says:

We get Gomez and Rodriguez back then AJ can take his time getting his calf healed properly.

  78. theplanisworking says:

  79. Dadtackular says:

    line 1 100 under
    line 2 100 under
    line 3 100 under

  80. Barb says:

    +many :)

  81. Barb says:

I guess that would be “Winnipeg or Bust”!

  82. Barb says:

I just saw on KDKA sports that Don Cherry opened his mouth and inserted his size 12. He was on a Boston sports radio show on WEEI and was asked about Malkin. He called him a talented loser. Takes one to know one.

  83. Lad9 says:

    LMAO. Good one Miss Brandie.

  84. Brandie says:

    You got it!!!

  85. Arriba Wilver says:

“Everybody” if you mean the teams, right? I know we argue about what’s best for the players/draftees, but it isn’t a “free market” by any stretch.

  86. Thundercrack says:

We’ll see how he feels tomorrow.

    Wandy, not Travis.

  87. Brandie says:

What I don’t get is how someone could be that perpetually greasy all of the time. If someone squeezed Dusty Basket,s head, I believe the global energy crisis would be solved.

  88. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Teams/Fans. I’d say the players get a decent wage for never stepping foot on a pro field.

  89. Brandie says:

By the way, Jimster and Jandy…than you for your well reasoned answers to a question I posted on the previous thread. I appreciate it.

  90. Arriba Wilver says:

Different issue, my friend. Under any system the players get a “decent wage.” But the Union agreed to it. I just don’t buy that “everybody” makes out.

  91. pattonbb says:

    I hate toothpicks.

Actually, I have nothing against toothpicks, it’s people who always have one in their mouth, thinking it looks cool, that I hate.

Eh…”hate” is such a strong word. I probably shouldn’t use it. I don’t like people who always have a toothpick in their mouth.

    I hate Dusty Baker.

  92. Brandie says:

Hey Dusty Baker…Mr. Potato Head called and wants his face back.

  93. theplanisworking says:

No, I think Dusty was the snake in the Garden of Eden.

Or he was the inspiration for the Diamondbacks logo………….

  94. Barb says:

    Yeah you ugly hockey puck.

  95. Brandie says:

Then we all agree he was not his parents’ most successful project. He looks like he fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. What a smug, smarmy, snarky jerk.

  96. Lad9 says:

    You are rolling tonight.

  97. theplanisworking says:

and those are his good qualities……. ;)

  98. Brandie says:

See above post about his greasy head.

  99. Brandie says:

    Russell Martin is the man!!!!!

  100. Barb says:

You are so right Brandie. Wish the Fort would figure it out.

  101. JRay3 says:

The way that half inning played out, probably saved a run throwing out Choo. Also might have the Reds thinking twice on running on him.

  102. The Gunner says:

On the other blog, you mention about Dick Groat’s hitting in your response to me about my Jordy Mercer for SS comments. Groat was an outstanding hitter for sure. If Mercer could be 60 or 70% the SS Dick Groat was, the Bucs would upgrade the current situation at SS dramatically.

  103. Frankie says:

    Also snow and cold

  104. Brandie says:

He has acquitted himself well defensively and can do some things at the plate, too. Bucs did not have to break the bank in him either.

  105. Frankie says:

Pirate announcers discussing Pete Rose being in HOF……How about announcing the game.

  106. Milo Hamilton says:

You’ve obviously never announced a game.

  107. Playoffs by 2012 says:

As promised…Here are the updated standings for all games played thru yesterday’s game against the Dodgers.

Playoffs, did you see the posters who put their bets in the morning thread yesterday?
I think there was one or two………

  109. The Gunner says:

I don’t care for Rose but you can’t take away what he accomplished. Put him in the HOF before he croaks.

  110. Brandie says:

This game is too quiet. Bucs bats need to wake up. Pretend the ball is Dusty Baker’s head and crush it!

  111. pattonbb says:

    you’ve got to be kidding…

  112. Brandie says:

    Super Starling!!!!!!!

  113. radio wave says:

Here we go again. Will they do anything about it this time around?

  114. Milo Hamilton says:

    There are no more accidents.

  115. pattonbb says:

    …and Leake hits Cutch again.

  116. Frankie says:

No but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express Milo……Did you or do you use an announcers name only?

  117. Brandie says:

    The beanings shall now commence!

  118. theplanisworking says:

    Glad I took the over………

  119. pattonbb says:

Surprised the Pirates haven’t been warned yet. You know…just in case they might be thinking about throwing inside at some point in this game.

  120. Frankie says:

    How do you know?

  121. JohninOshkosh says:

Just thought I’d chime in to say I hate the Reds.

  122. stickyweb says:

That was truly an awesome catch by Marte. We’ll be seeing that one for years to come. WOW!!!

  123. stickyweb says:

    Sorry I’m on DVR delay

  124. theplanisworking says:

    I hate asparagus.
I hate the Reds more. ;)

  125. Jandy says:

I like asparagus, but I HATE the Reds

  126. JohninOshkosh says:

Leake has stolen the last two innings right from under the Pirates.

  127. Jandy says:

Does Liriano have the cajones to bean someone?

  128. Jandy says:

  129. Weak arse hitting has returned to this lineup. They usually kill Leake, but the last two games – ziltch. Not getting Mercer in a couple innings ago is going to hurt now that they are down 1-0.

  130. theplanisworking says:

Hey, I wanted to thank you for taking care of the grumpmaster on the other thread.
Some people are so miserable, they have absolutely no sense of humor.

    Thanks for the assist.

  131. Jandy says:

Frankie, just what is it you are asking?

  132. Brandie says:

Oh Mother Theresa! Hate is such a strong but accurate word.

  133. Jandy says:

Again, just what is it you’re asking?

  134. Jandy says:

In the case of the Reds, it is very accurate!

  135. Jandy says:

Who is giving my Hipposter a hassle???

  136. theplanisworking says:

Someone wanted to know why I hippo’ed all the time.
Like he has any say in the matter.

You came in for the assist. :)

  137. radio wave says:

Before the fly out, walk speculated on the radio whether the Pirates would get the picture.

  138. Jandy says:

Oh, that was Stuart, and I truly think he was just curious. So i filled him in. I’m pretty sure Stuart is a good guy, Hippo.

  139. Milo Hamilton says:

It’s been Phillips in the past. I suspect it will be again.

  140. Jandy says:

I see Miss Brandie is on a roll ;)

  141. The Gunner says:

    Thanks Jandy

  142. Jandy says:

Hey I try…but Jimster knows a bit more than I do, I just give my opinion ;)

  143. theplanisworking says:

    I will sit on him!!!

  144. Jandy says:

I friggin hate Cherry almost as much as Dusty Baker.

  145. Brandie says:

    A potato roll.

  146. Jandy says:

  147. Jandy says:

  148. Thundercrack says:

I know he tried to get the throw off quickly , but that was an awful throw from Jay Bruce. It almost brought rain

  149. pattonbb says:

    or Choo

  150. Jandy says:

    hell yeah!

  151. At least the rally cap helped get the one run in to tie it up. That’s my story and I’ll stick to it.

  152. Milo Hamilton says:

If they’re going to retaliate, it’s going to be now.

  153. Brandie says:

    1-1…Dig It!

  154. Jandy says:

    I wish!

  155. Brandie says:

I am greedy. Bean somebody and win the game. Yes, I want both!!!!!

  156. Jandy says:

    friggin trolls

  157. Barb says:

They’re not going to retaliate. It’s last year all over again.

  158. Milo Hamilton says:

Oh well, an entertaining AB nonetheless. :)

  159. Jandy says:

    we can hope!

  160. Jandy says:

i’d like to see one of those inside pitches go too far inside ;)

  161. Brandie says:

I tell my kids treat annoyances like the air. Make ‘em invisible.

  162. Jandy says:

    well, dayum

  163. Jandy says:

    friggin trolls

  164. There goes the tie with another Cincy HR to left. How about learning from them and actually HIT the ball this inning – preferably where they are not playing!!!

  165. Jandy says:

    yup, I like to

  166. Barb says:

    Liriano has longballitis tonight. Boo!

  167. theplanisworking says:

Exhibit A on why you retaliate on beanballs…….

Reds batters have no ear because they know the Pirates wont retaliate.

Walk even said that the Reds batters are just waiting for their pitch to hit.

  168. theplanisworking says:

There one was a Muppet and Nun walking into a bar………… 3:)

  169. theplanisworking says:

    Should be F ear.
If we hit them, they would have no ear. ;)

  170. Brandie says:

Should ear be fear? Though I would like to see some earless Reds batters. That would be some serious beanings to make a guy lose his ears!

  171. Jandy says:

    lol…hey now :P

  172. Jandy says:

and yes, that would be fear

  173. Barb says:

Yes let’s pin their ears back.

  174. Brandie says:

Does Tough actin’ Tinactin cure that?

  175. theplanisworking says:

  176. Brandie says:

    Let’s rip ‘em off.

  177. Milo Hamilton says:

Especially Phillips. Did you see him bail out on that outside pitch ?

  178. theplanisworking says:

You 3 are bringing the high heat to this old Hippo tonight!

  179. Brandie says:

    I resemble that Muppet!

  180. Jandy says:

    Woo hoo!

  181. Jandy says:

    that was something…

  182. Jandy says:

    I plead the fifth ;X

  183. theplanisworking says:

Jandy, thats not a good thing………….

  184. Jandy says:

Well, YOU have to deal with it :P

  185. Brandie says:

I don’t want to roast you Hippo. :(

  186. Jandy says:

He can jump in the pond to cool off ;)

  187. Barb says:

Maybe but then again maybe not. We are so bad tonight and it’s so much fun!

  188. theplanisworking says:

    Yes you do! :D

  189. theplanisworking says:

Not if I sit on you!!!

  190. Jandy says:

    100 proof So Co

  191. theplanisworking says:

    Thanks Brandie.
Some Nun (pun in tended) is too big for her britches tonight!

  192. Brandie says:

Not sure if any of us could pilot a Sit n’ Spin let alone be responsible for the direction of this here blog. Oh well..Here’s to the inmates running the asylum!

  193. Barb says:

    Which one?

  194. Jandy says:

I TOLD ya Hipposter my dear friend, you sit on me, i goose you :P

  195. Jandy says:

Awww Hippo, my friend, you know I <3 u :)

  196. theplanisworking says:

I will sit on the gooses too!

  197. Jandy says:

OK boys, let’s get the Bucco bats goin…like right now!

  198. Jandy says:

  199. theplanisworking says:

    I know Jandy.

    Hippos make great pets………… ;)

  200. Jandy says:

    Hear, hear!

  201. Jandy says:

I’m not goin near that one…not even with a Hoka Hey telephone pole ;)

  202. theplanisworking says:

Silly, its a Hippo Hey telephone pole !!! :D

  203. Brandie says:

    Righty-o Mama!

  204. Barb says:

    I second that emotion.

  205. Jandy says:

    Silly Mother Theresa!

  206. Barb says:

Let’s see if we have the cure for LeCure.

  207. JRay3 says:

Ok Cutch aboard, really would like to get one here with Chapman looming.

  208. Jandy says:

OK Cutch is on, someone bring him around!

  209. Barb says:

I guess we do because he is outta there/

  210. JRay3 says:

Dusty not taking any chances, Hurdle now probably counters with Gaby.

  211. Barb says:

Ooh my favorite right behind those two oldies but goodies – Statler and Waldorf.

  212. Lad9 says:

This is Cingrani’s first time out of the pen. Nail him Gaby!

  213. Jandy says:

    good call

  214. Milo Hamilton says:

    This umpire is a joke.

  215. Milo Hamilton says:

    Chris Conroy.

  216. Barb says:

Yea but let’s hope we get the last laugh.

  217. Jandy says:

    aren’t they all?

  218. theplanisworking says:

Our buddy 19-inning Meals is on this crew.

  219. Pedro biting again. This team needs to get some life tonight. One inning to get one freaking run to tie it.

  220. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Got ‘em and counted ‘em.

  221. Milo Hamilton says:

  222. Jandy says:

is that like a total suck job?

  223. theplanisworking says:

This umpire crew truly “embraces the suck”………….

  224. Jandy says:

that’s what I was getting at Hipposter! You spoke it plainly for me!

  225. florida steeler says:

Clutch hitting by the Bucs again–WRONG. This group with Sanchez, Inge, Snider, Barmes will not get it done. And, Pedro just cannot hit left handed pitching. Near the bottom in MLB in clutch hits.

  226. Jandy says:

    who let the dogs out?

  227. The only consolation is they may lose this first game of a 4 game set. They usually win the series that way. Keep that going. It’d be nice to just get three runs in the ninth and have Grilli save it .

  228. theplanisworking says:

I feel like the blogs Chia Pet tonight!
The Bucs again cant hit their way out of a paper bag against the Speds.

Sickening, and my stuff is starting to grow, just like a chia pet !!!

  229. Jandy says:

    Are you kidding me?????

  230. Make that 4 runs they will need. 4-1, and all of theirs on HRs.

  231. Jandy says:

  232. florida steeler says:

    Hey Jandy,
Hate to say it but the Bruins look awfully good. Maybe the Pens did lose to the best “team” in hockey minus the best “talent”.

  233. cosmo says:

Ok, Cutch gets plunked again, and again no retaliation. Tomorrow before the game umps go into clubhouse and warn both teams about beaning..Again the Reds will get away with it. Deja vu. Let’s hope not.

  234. JRay3 says:

It was said earlier I believe, the Reds hitters are just too comfortable in the box against the Bucs pitchers. Long ball difference tonight.

Morton better hope his ball has its sink tomorrow night.

  235. Jandy says:

I see the Broons are up 2-0 so they’re doing something right.

  236. JRay3 says:

Unreal, just bush league stuff by Baker, Chapman and the Reds…nearly takes Walker head off.

  237. cosmo says:

Now Chapman just buzzes one by Walker’s head.

  238. theplanisworking says:

Walker almost got hit in the head.

But we wont do anything, so I hope the players have great health insurance !

  239. Milo Hamilton says:

    Oops. Slipped. Sorry.

  240. tdb1977 says:

It is time to throw at someone’s head tomorrow and make it count! This is ridculous by Chapman. Absolutely ridculous!

  241. radio wave says:

Bush league with a four – one lead.

  242. theplanisworking says:

It is our fault for not retaliating.

  243. theplanisworking says:

They only do it because they know they can get away with it!

  244. cosmo says:

Hate to say it, but it might time for a good old fashioned brawl ala Dodgers/Dbacks.

  245. Lad9 says:

Need to nail Choo to lead off the game tomorrow.

  246. Milo Hamilton says:

Good thing we didn’t retaliate. We might have lost.

  247. Barb says:

Oh well tomorrow is another day. Good night all. See you tomorrow for another fun filled day at the funny farm!

  248. Jandy says:

these guys need to grow a set

  249. Jandy says:

  250. theplanisworking says:

    Lower the Jolly Hippo.

Another game vs. Cincy that the Pirates were intimidated by beanballs, and did not retaliate. Sickening.

Bucco bats silent against this team again.

If Hurdle doesnt order beanballs tomorrow night to stop the reds crap, just forfeit the season Clint. The team is suffering for it.

  251. Milo Hamilton says:

    They soff.

  252. Daquido_Bazzini says:

Looks like Dusty Baker’s head hunting tactics work again!….Sickening.

  253. theplanisworking says:

    They need more than that.

I dont think a set would go to them……………….

  254. Jandy says:

  255. The Gunner says:

Morton will retaliate tomorrow night, Milo. The Reds continue to intimdate the Buccos. Enolugh is enough!! Hurdle better get some cajones and go after these guys tomorrow night.

Nice guys really do finish last!!

  256. Jandy says:

  257. cosmo says:

They’ve got 2 years of payback coming to them!

  258. theplanisworking says:

    Night Mom Teresa!

  259. Frankie says:

No… It was a great pitch and did exactly what it was intended to do.

  260. theplanisworking says:

Was Hurdle always this much of a scared ass with Colorado?

Man is afraid of his own shadow.

  261. Frankie says:

They lost because they cannot hit.

  262. twentytwo22 says:

The Pirates are gutless but I think it’s impossible for them to stop the bullying because their hitters are so poor. The Reds will get away with it. McCutchen gets hit and then Jones hits into a DP. The Reds hit 4 HR. After facing Krenshaw and Grienke back-to-back they made Mike Leake look like a Cy Young winner. I disagree with Greg Brown, Clint Hurdle is not mad or else this s*(( would have been stopped long ago. Grow a pair and fight. Find the guys you are looking for on the field and that will be the end of this. Just playing the game doesn’t matter because the Pirates cannot hit. The Reds win and the Pirates have their tails between their legs.

  263. Milo Hamilton says:

    It was sarcasm.

  264. SeanAY says:

Mark is a great dude. I love his story.

  265. Playoffs by 2012 says:

You are such a ray of sunshine.
    Please never change.

  266. Playoffs by 2012 says:

I love how everyone is convinced that this team is somehow intimidated and they are afraid to fight back.

How many Reds got hit last series in Pittsburgh?

Brandon Phillips got hit twice in one game, and missed his next 4 games (if memory serves me correctly).
The Pirates as a team lead the league in batters hit and in hitting batters.

Getting hits with runners in scoring position wins game. Playing bean-ball doesn’t.

  267. Daquido_Bazzini says:

In general….The NL West is a head hunting division (as we saw last week).
Frankly….I don’t remember how Hurdle reacted when he was there.

  268. Chuck H says:

Once again, failure to hit with runners in scoring position, the Bucs lose yet another game to the hated Reds. Alverez has won a few games for us but he also has lost many. I will say, Hurdle should have hit for Pedro with 2 on and 2 outs. He yanked Jones because he can’t hit lefties, but then neither can Alverez. They would have had a better shot with
(shutter) Barmes or McHenry. They say the Reds ballpark is easy to hit homers in, yet it should be easy for both teams. We are going to get swept by the Red, promise.

  269. Frankie says:

How does he know it was an accident….
