  1. 1960 was a magical year

Can the magic continue this season?

    Beat Em Bucs

    Go like 60

  3. I think the Bucs should use Gomez in relief as soon as he comes up. Go with 4 in the rotation until July. They have enough days off, and the (current) starters can afford the innings, while the bullpen, of which Gomez would be a part, can’t.

Max “wager” is 100 units on any single line.
All “wagers” must be in multiples of 5 units.
Play as few or as many lines as you’d like.
As always, this is for fun and entertainment purposes.

    Tonight’s Line
Total RBI’s by Pedro Alvarez in tonight’s game
    Line is 2.5

Please Note – All games must be considered official games in order for line(s) to be valid. Any postponement, cancellation, or suspension of game(s) will void line(s).

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  5. @playoffs

    100 on the UNDER please

  6. Is this the Jerome Williams that pitched for the Cubs a few years ago?

Seeing Brad Hawpe in right last night was a shocker. When he left the Pirates in ST, didn’t he say the game had gotten too fast for him?

I don’t follow the AL West. Has there been a rash of injuries for the Angels?

  7. 100 over please

  8. Just got to ballpark and watching guys throw and heard Ray Searage tell Vin Mazzaro only in emergency will he pitch tonight. First base coach Jauss comes over and fist bumps me and couple other Pirate fans and says you guys picked a great night to come out an watch us as we are going to kick the Angels a$$ tonight. Just awesome.

  9. I see that Stolmy Pimental is pitching strong for Indy again tonight. 6 innings of 3 hits and 1 run. Polanco also has a home run tonight for Altoona. It is good to see us having success and talent at ALL levels!

  10. Bizrow says:
    June 22, 2013 at 8:36 pm

    “Something special is happening

    Just sayin”

    I agree.
    Something special is happening.
    I can feel it.
    So can Phil Collins.

  11. Where are all the bloggers tonight. This is really the first time since last season that I could jump in and it is fairly quiet. Did the Steelers and Bruins get together for a game of basketball in town somewhere that I don’t know about and steal the crowd (bloggers)!! Lol

  12. I hate it when they are on the west coast, way too late for me.

  13. Don’t know about you Lucky, but I spend Saturday evenings finishing preparing my sermons. I hate West Coast trips also. I can’t stay up that late either Kr70.

  14. Wouldn’t that be nice to finish the night 45-30? And then go on about a 10 game win streak!!

  15. Barb- what time do you switch back from a pumpkin into an old lady? Lol:)

  16. Is Josh Hamilton hurt?

  17. Back from my son’s hoop camp at Pitt. I am with Biz – something special is happening here in Buccoland. But the neatest thing is watching my kid’s reaction to it. None of them have any memory of a winning season and theft are pretty stoked about it. Well three of the for are. Lets Go Bucs!

  18. All right Pedro. Woo Hoo.

  19. Wow. That got out in a hurry. Sweet swing. And there is one ribbie… Keep it going Pedro!

  20. PRNW has to get lit up

  21. Pedro goes yard for second night in a row on a laser beam to RF, 18 HR, 50 RBI, 7 RBI in last three games…El Toro is En Fuego.

  22. Here’s hoping NH was listening when Boras stated he would be open to discussion on extending Alvarez.

Three straight hits on Williams who is getting loose, let’s get the big inning.

  23. Nice clutch hit by Mercer.

  24. Jordy Mercer does it again. Yes. Love this group!

  25. Barmes who?

  26. Root says first time in Pedro’s career that he has homered in three straight games.

  27. Another clutch hit would be huge.

  28. 7-0 TD would be huge. Cutch time!

  29. Diamondbacks beat the Reds and the Rangers are hanging on in the 9th against the Cards. YES!

  30. Well witnessed two great things that inning, an absolute cannon of an arm Marte has as he gets runner easily at plate. Took the air out of the stadium.

Liriano uber calm with bases loaded and bears down on the LH hitter, getting him to bite on the slider twice in the at bat.

And now Cutch just hit a bomb deep to LF, Bucs sticking it to Angels!

  31. Quality decision to send dude when Marte fielded the ball as he got to third.

  32. Did Kendrick order the Code Red?

  33. I am not thrilled that Root now show the pitch count after every pitch

  34. This team I do believe finally EXPECTS to win, and doesn’t get down when they lose a couple…this team has a different feel to it than the last couple of years. I also believe that there is NO WAY that Cole can possibly be sent down now after last night’s performance.

  35. I also believe that just maybe now Pedro is beginning to turn that corner…the fact that he is now hitting doubles more frequently is the key. When a power hitter starts getting the doubles with the HR’s…look out!

  36. Lets just get a win Folks

    A long way to go

  37. Can’t wait until Sept when the Bucs come to town to play the Rangers….

  38. Crazy, I went out in concourse and start talking with Angel season ticket holder about the Bucs, and get introduced to Mike Trout’s Dad, who is talking about his son wanting to sign and willing to go longer than just arbitration years. Tells the season ticket holder they leave in South Jersey and knows both the Yanks an Phils would love to have him. Says Mike just wants to win but Angels arms are a mess than goes to me and says your team has a lot of arms.

  39. JRay, sounds like you are on a recruiting trip

  40. If Bucs hold on I believe Liriano picks up his sixth win tops with Locke and he didn’t start pitching until May. Gives up first run and CH out and calls on Morris.

Another supberb starting effort given by the rotation tonight. Liriano has proven to be a great addition.

  41. Gabbbbyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  42. Okay, come on Man. Strikes.

  43. Let’s make sure Pujols gets up again, so he can make it 6-5.

  44. Behind 6.2 innings of one run ball turned in by Liriano and homers from Cutch, El Toro and Gaby, the Bucs down the Angels to take their 15th series of the year 6-1 and there was noooooooo doubt about it.

With the win the Pirates improve to a season best 15 games above .500 at 45-30 and 4-2 on the nine game road swing. The Pirates hold the top WC position and are just two back of St Louis in the Central.

The Pirates will go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon in the finale with Charlie Morton making the start.

    Let’s Go Bucs!

  45. Raise it! Never a question tonight. 45-30! Damn. Good night Lunatics

  46. Marte’s throw: one hop, not three. Look at the replay post-game people.

  47. Since being swept by the Braves earlier in the month, the Bucs have been playing .667 ball. That’s 10-5, up to today. Four series wins and one draw. The Pirates’ pitching staff has the lowest ERA in the major leagues = 3.19. The average number of runs per game in those last 15 is up to 4.20, good enough to win when you’re only giving up an average of 3.19 runs to the opposition. California teams, including the Giants and Dodgers, have added significantly to the improved Bucco stats. The Angels appear to be in disarray: pitching, coaching and fielding problems abound. They’ll be battling for all they’re worth to salvage one game out of the series this afternoon. But, keep in mind it’s a day game and Pedro is seeing the ball particularly well these days. Go Bucs!

  48. 2 games out. Today’s game is a critical one to get, get the sweep please Buccos.
