    1960 was a magical year

Can the magic continue this season?

    Beat Em Bucs

    Go like 60

  4. Keith says:

I think the Bucs should use Gomez in relief as soon as he comes up. Go with 4 in the rotation until July. They have enough days off, and the (current) starters can afford the innings, while the bullpen, of which Gomez would be a part, can’t.

  5. Playoffs by 2012 says:

Max “wager” is 100 units on any single line.
All “wagers” must be in multiples of 5 units.
Play as few or as many lines as you’d like.
As always, this is for fun and entertainment purposes.

    Tonight’s Line
Total RBI’s by Pedro Alvarez in tonight’s game
    Line is 2.5

Please Note – All games must be considered official games in order for line(s) to be valid. Any postponement, cancellation, or suspension of game(s) will void line(s).

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  6. Frankie says:

Give me 50 on the under…

Thank You For The Daily Contest

  7. radio wave says:

Even though he is very hot, this is a tough line. I will take 75 on the under. Thank you

  8. Bizrow says:

He’s on a roll, but a night game

100 under with the thought, I’m gonna lose ;-)

    Thanks Playoffs

  9. JRay3 says:

Good afternoon to the window, perfect day out here in Anaheim for the Bucs to take their 15th series of the year and make it three straight W’s.

Just read today that Pedro is hitting .333 in last 14 games, his 17 HR and 49 RBI lead the team as he has developed into the most dangerous game changing bat in lineup. He has six RBI’s in last two games but still this appears a bit aggressive.

    100 on the UNDER.

    Thanks and Let’s Go Bucs!

  10. Karen22 says:

50 – UNDER. Hope he knocks in ten!

  11. Lad9 says:

Mr Playoffs will lay 100 pieces of 8 on the under. Thank you. Go Buccos!

  12. bman says:

    100 on the UNDER please

  13. Is this the Jerome Williams that pitched for the Cubs a few years ago?

Seeing Brad Hawpe in right last night was a shocker. When he left the Pirates in ST, didn’t he say the game had gotten too fast for him?

I don’t follow the AL West. Has there been a rash of injuries for the Angels?

  14. Bizrow says:

You had to be there, but I’m getting the same vibes

Of course, my name is Biz and I’m gullible ;-)

  15. 21sthebest says:

That was Hawpe’s second start for the Angels. That’s Brad Hawpe. Cut by the Pirates ($66 million payroll) and picked up by the Angels ($142 milllion payroll).

  16. Bizrow says:

The Angels just pretty much stink so far

@21, I think their payroll might be just at bit higher, Weaver, Pujols and JHamilton

Not to argue, just think its higher

  17. Bizrow says:

You folks betting under are screwed

    That’s what I bet

    Just sayin..

    Regardless, lets go Buccos

  18. OZ says:

    100 under, thx

3 RBI’s would be tough to predict even for Babe Ruth….of course tonite, the over hits.

  19. KJX says:

    100 under

  20. Matt hoffman says:

    100 over please

  23. JRay3 says:

Just got to ballpark and watching guys throw and heard Ray Searage tell Vin Mazzaro only in emergency will he pitch tonight. First base coach Jauss comes over and fist bumps me and couple other Pirate fans and says you guys picked a great night to come out an watch us as we are going to kick the Angels a$$ tonight. Just awesome.

  24. Bizrow says:

    Something special is happening

    Just sayin

  25. Bill Born says:

    100 on the under please.
    Again I hope I’m wrong.

  26. Thundercrack says:

  27. Matt hoffman says:

I see that Stolmy Pimental is pitching strong for Indy again tonight. 6 innings of 3 hits and 1 run. Polanco also has a home run tonight for Altoona. It is good to see us having success and talent at ALL levels!

    “Something special is happening

    Just sayin”

    I agree.
    Something special is happening.
    I can feel it.
    So can Phil Collins.

  30. Bizrow says:

    + 1

Lets hop on and enjoy it

    Seems like magic to me

    But its early

    Sometimes stars align

You may not know this, but I do not like the FO

    But I love the Bucs

  31. Bizrow says:

And if you don’t know I do not like the FO

You are probably following Justin Bieber ;-)

    Folks, good lunatics

    I’m all in

Lets go for this dam thing

  32. Bizrow says:

    So me saying that

    We’ll get killed

  33. Matt hoffman says:

Where are all the bloggers tonight. This is really the first time since last season that I could jump in and it is fairly quiet. Did the Steelers and Bruins get together for a game of basketball in town somewhere that I don’t know about and steal the crowd (bloggers)!! Lol

  34. kr70 says:

100 on the under and thanks

  35. JaxBuc says:

Please sir, may I have 100 unnamed units on the OVER?

  36. There will be a walkup later.

  37. kr70 says:

I hate it when they are on the west coast, way too late for me.

  38. theplanisworking says:

But it wont be worthy of applause.

  39. Matt hoffman says:

Don’t know about you Lucky, but I spend Saturday evenings finishing preparing my sermons. I hate West Coast trips also. I can’t stay up that late either Kr70.

  40. theplanisworking says:

Well Matt, last night there were people in and out, no real interaction, just a few blurbs here and there.
I think the late time has something to do with it.
I think DK not being here interacting has something to do with it.

I think people dont like Hippo stink in the room, so they stay away.

    Just some thoughts……….

  41. Barb says:

Thanks for the video break. One of my favorite Phil Collins songs. Loved it when it was used in Miami Vice – Sonny Crockett riding around Miami in his Testarossa.

  42. Barb says:

Matt – I am an old lady and I turn into a pumpkin at midnight. :) I’ll try to hang in there tonight but I’m can’t promise.

  43. 21sthebest says:

Not to argue but ESPN has it at $127 million. Baseball Prospectus has it at $141 million. Fox Sports has $128 million.

  44. Thundercrack says:

I give Hawpe credit for going to the minors and sticking with it

  45. Matt hoffman says:

Wouldn’t that be nice to finish the night 45-30? And then go on about a 10 game win streak!!

  46. Dadtackular says:

    100 Woooooooooooooooo on the under

  47. Matt hoffman says:

Barb- what time do you switch back from a pumpkin into an old lady? Lol:)

  48. cherokee23 says:

    100 under

  49. Barb says:

Oh when the sunrises or when the alarm goes off, which ever comes first.

  50. theplanisworking says:

    Thought that was vampires?

  51. JaxBuc says:

Lack of bloggers is not sustainable.

  52. Keith says:

    100 on the UNDER.

  53. Thundercrack says:

    Is Josh Hamilton hurt?

  54. Lad9 says:

Back from my son’s hoop camp at Pitt. I am with Biz – something special is happening here in Buccoland. But the neatest thing is watching my kid’s reaction to it. None of them have any memory of a winning season and theft are pretty stoked about it. Well three of the for are. Lets Go Bucs!

  55. Lad9 says:

Yes. Cortisone shot in the right wrist on Friday. He is out for the whole series.

  56. 21sthebest says:

Wrist. He’s sitting out the series.

  57. Barb says:

Well I will admit I am a little batty.

  58. Bizrow says:

    Wow, thanks

  59. Barb says:

    All right Pedro. Woo Hoo.

  60. Reading says:

  61. Bizrow says:

Lets hope the kids get a good memory

  62. Lad9 says:

Wow. That got out in a hurry. Sweet swing. And there is one ribbie… Keep it going Pedro!

  63. Bizrow says:

PRNW has to get lit up

  64. JRay3 says:

Pedro goes yard for second night in a row on a laser beam to RF, 18 HR, 50 RBI, 7 RBI in last three games…El Toro is En Fuego.

  65. Dadtackular says:

  66. JRay3 says:

Here’s hoping NH was listening when Boras stated he would be open to discussion on extending Alvarez.

Three straight hits on Williams who is getting loose, let’s get the big inning.

  67. Reading says:

    Nice clutch hit by Mercer.

  68. Barb says:

Jordy Mercer does it again. Yes. Love this group!

  69. Dadtackular says:

    Barmes who?

  70. Reading says:

Root says first time in Pedro’s career that he has homered in three straight games.

  71. Sunday morning for me.

  72. Reading says:

Another clutch hit would be huge.

  73. Reading says:

7-0 TD would be huge. Cutch time!

  74. Barb says:

Diamondbacks beat the Reds and the Rangers are hanging on in the 9th against the Cards. YES!

  75. blazer says:

Got in to Angel land early and the stadium was vacant. Can see the lights from my hotel and can’t wait till tomorrow. Should of walked up tonight also but the drive was too long.

  76. Barb says:

St. Louis lost to the Rangers!

  77. Lad9 says:

Hope you have a great time tomorrow Blazer. Would love to be there.

  78. Bizrow says:

You folks just wait till September if this team sticks like 60

  79. JRay3 says:

Well witnessed two great things that inning, an absolute cannon of an arm Marte has as he gets runner easily at plate. Took the air out of the stadium.

Liriano uber calm with bases loaded and bears down on the LH hitter, getting him to bite on the slider twice in the at bat.

And now Cutch just hit a bomb deep to LF, Bucs sticking it to Angels!

  80. Reading says:

Quality decision to send dude when Marte fielded the ball as he got to third.

  81. Reading says:

Did Kendrick order the Code Red?

  82. Lad9 says:

This blog won’t be able to handle all the traffic. It will be the largest lunatic asylum on the planet!

  83. Bizrow says:

    + 60

    Stole that ;-)

  84. Thundercrack says:

I am not thrilled that Root now show the pitch count after every pitch

  85. Steelag70 says:

This team I do believe finally EXPECTS to win, and doesn’t get down when they lose a couple…this team has a different feel to it than the last couple of years. I also believe that there is NO WAY that Cole can possibly be sent down now after last night’s performance.

  86. Steelag70 says:

I also believe that just maybe now Pedro is beginning to turn that corner…the fact that he is now hitting doubles more frequently is the key. When a power hitter starts getting the doubles with the HR’s…look out!

  87. Bizrow says:

Lets just get a win Folks

    A long way to go

  88. Steelag70 says:

Can’t wait until Sept when the Bucs come to town to play the Rangers….

  89. JRay3 says:

Crazy, I went out in concourse and start talking with Angel season ticket holder about the Bucs, and get introduced to Mike Trout’s Dad, who is talking about his son wanting to sign and willing to go longer than just arbitration years. Tells the season ticket holder they leave in South Jersey and knows both the Yanks an Phils would love to have him. Says Mike just wants to win but Angels arms are a mess than goes to me and says your team has a lot of arms.

  90. Thundercrack says:

JRay, sounds like you are on a recruiting trip

  91. JRay3 says:

If Bucs hold on I believe Liriano picks up his sixth win tops with Locke and he didn’t start pitching until May. Gives up first run and CH out and calls on Morris.

Another supberb starting effort given by the rotation tonight. Liriano has proven to be a great addition.

  92. JRay3 says:

I put in a good word on the Bucs but admitted I didn’t think we could bid with Angels, Phils an Yanks.

  93. Steelag70 says:

  94. Reading says:

    Okay, come on Man. Strikes.

  95. Reading says:

Let’s make sure Pujols gets up again, so he can make it 6-5.

  96. JRay3 says:

Behind 6.2 innings of one run ball turned in by Liriano and homers from Cutch, El Toro and Gaby, the Bucs down the Angels to take their 15th series of the year 6-1 and there was noooooooo doubt about it.

With the win the Pirates improve to a season best 15 games above .500 at 45-30 and 4-2 on the nine game road swing. The Pirates hold the top WC position and are just two back of St Louis in the Central.

The Pirates will go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon in the finale with Charlie Morton making the start.

    Let’s Go Bucs!

  97. Lad9 says:

Raise it! Never a question tonight. 45-30! Damn. Good night Lunatics

  98. Reading says:

Marte’s throw: one hop, not three. Look at the replay post-game people.

  99. War Horse says:

Since being swept by the Braves earlier in the month, the Bucs have been playing .667 ball. That’s 10-5, up to today. Four series wins and one draw. The Pirates’ pitching staff has the lowest ERA in the major leagues = 3.19. The average number of runs per game in those last 15 is up to 4.20, good enough to win when you’re only giving up an average of 3.19 runs to the opposition. California teams, including the Giants and Dodgers, have added significantly to the improved Bucco stats. The Angels appear to be in disarray: pitching, coaching and fielding problems abound. They’ll be battling for all they’re worth to salvage one game out of the series this afternoon. But, keep in mind it’s a day game and Pedro is seeing the ball particularly well these days. Go Bucs!

  100. John Lease says:

2 games out. Today’s game is a critical one to get, get the sweep please Buccos.
