  1. Dom says:

    Who is everyone rooting for?

  2. Arriba Wilver says:

    The Pens.

  3. Bizrow says:

Like a Super Bowl, Stillers are out of the race, eh, can’t and don’t get excited.

    Blackhawks have Burgh ties, though.

    +1 AW

  4. Jim S. says:

I have a very hard time rooting for either of these teams.

I admit that I am not good at supporting the local teams here in Chicago if Pittsburgh has a team in the same sport. I’ll gladly root for the Bulls, and I like the White Sox as my fall back baseball team. But, the Bears, Cubs, Hawks – no … just no.

I watched the Hawks game on Sat night out of town with all the other dads of my son’s baseball team. They are all now die hard Hawks fans, of course. I was polite, but I really couldn’t get into it. I also didn’t like that the dad from N. Jersey has completely switched loyalties from the Devils. I asked what he would do if/when he got transferred again. He said he would deal with it when the time comes. Sorry, I can’t just switch my fandom on and off like that. The Pittsburgh teams are engrained in me. Nothing is changing that. Doesn’t make me right and him wrong. Just makes us different.

  5. DK: I’ll take a Game 7, please.

  6. Arriba Wilver says:

    No bold. You’re disqualified.

  7. Arriba Wilver says:

    And it magically appears.

  8. JohninOshkosh says:

No game 7. This ends tonight!

Parade down State Street on Wednesday.

    Go Hawks!

  9. theplanisworking says:

    GO PENS !!!!!!!!!!

  10. theplanisworking says:

Game 7 of what? Cricket? Riverhounds? ;)

I havent watched one minute of these Finals, and I am hockey fan. But with the lockout this season, the Pens being eliminated, the thought of Jeremy Jacobs, the mastermind of said lockout, getting his hands on the Stanley Cup sickens me. So, by default, I have to go with the Hawks.

    Go Pens !!!!!!

  11. Thundercrack says:

Easy Plan, be careful when including the dirty “R” word

  12. theplanisworking says:

    +1

  13. theplanisworking says:

    Excellent news.

Paul Chryst told Rushel Shell to pound salt!!!

    YES!!!!

  14. Brandie says:

Agree. Game 7′s are exciting. If I had my way, Chicago would win this one. Just cannot root for the Bruins,

  15. Brandie says:

Cannot have it both ways,Mr. Shell.

  16. Drew71 says:

I am going to need a drink after I write this.

I agree with Dejan. Game Seven.

    There.

Pour me a drink. Fast. Put a straw in it cause I need to lie down.

  17. Brandie says:

    Kool-aid or something much stronger?

  18. JohninOshkosh says:

    Thoughts during first period:

    1. Amazingly, if the Hawks win, Scotty Bowman will be a part of 13 winning cups!
    2. Even without a healthy spleen, Patrice Bergeron is amazing.
    3. Claude Juilien would be a perfect cast as a German general in a WW II movie.
    4. Say what you will about Jagr, he is one tough 40 something hombre.
    5. Hawks look a little tired here early.
6 I am going to miss Doc and Edzo over the summer.

  19. Drew71 says:

i USED to say that i root for seven games, all overtimes.

Then after staying up until 1:00 once too often, I changed that to a one goal victory, with the winning goal scored in the last minute of regulation.

    R-E-G-U-L-A-T-I-O-N.

  20. Drew71 says:

    Zin.

  21. Milo Hamilton says:

    On State Street
    That great street
    I just wanna say.
    They do things
That they never do on Broadway.

  22. theplanisworking says:

    Hi Brandie!

    Someone broke the other thread!

    How is my fave muppet?

  23. JohninOshkosh says:

The song the Cubs should play after W’s instead of the dreadful one they currently play.

  24. Brandie says:

It was Drew! I am fine, Hipposter. I am getting closer to starting the new job. I hope you are well and happy in your pond.

  25. theplanisworking says:

A little warm, but I am swimmingly good.
Glad to be able to chat with you here.
Glad also you are gonna be a star soon.

I am out, but maybe see you tomorrow if the blog isnt broken again. ;)

  26. Milo Hamilton says:

Corey Crawford’s been just this side of a mess in this series. But he’s playing his best hockey now & the Hawks have him to thank for still being within striking distance. The Bruins can’t be happy it’s only 1-0.

  27. Brandie says:

    Have a nice night, dear.

  28. JohninOshkosh says:

Clark W. Griswold wears a road Blackhawks jersey in “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”

  29. Brandie says:

Oh well. Bruins have to remember…the true champions find a way to throttle down and get it done.

  30. JohninOshkosh says:

There is no bigger farce in all of sports than the Tour De France.

I’m not buying it NBC, and you shouldn’t be selling it.

  31. Brandie says:

    Amen. + many!

  32. Drew71 says:

    Yes. It was me.

    And I’m proud of it.

  33. Brandie says:

John Tortorella is now Vancouver’s head coach. I weep for them. :(

  34. Milo Hamilton says:

All of the sudden Edzo seems happier.

  35. Drew71 says:

    Beeeautiful.

Now no more scoring until Boston scores with 30 seconds left in the third.

  36. Drew71 says:

    But I’m happy for us.

    Entertainment.

  37. Drew71 says:

    Then we’ll never hear it.

  38. Brandie says:

They ought to make a television series based solely on his meltdowns…Call it Stuff First Says.

  39. Brandie says:

    First should say Tort.

  40. Milo Hamilton says:

Wait a minute, Puig won a match at Wimbledon ?

  41. Milo Hamilton says:

Jaromir Jagr last scored a goal April 21st.

  42. JohninOshkosh says:

Boston franchises have trouble with game 6′s!

    What a finish going on!

  43. Milo Hamilton says:

    Goodnight Drew. Goodnight Boston.

  44. Milo Hamilton says:

    What a colossal choke.

  45. Dom says:

    Who’da thunk it?

  46. Dom says:

At least this will be good economic news for the bars in Boston.

  47. JohninOshkosh says:

Boos rain down on the Commish

  48. Milo Hamilton says:

An American born player has won the Conn Smythe 3 consecutive years.

  49. Dom says:

The greatest country in the world.

  50. Milo Hamilton says:

    Amen.

  51. Milo Hamilton says:

Corey Crawford may have just played his way into the Olympics for Canada.

  52. Reading says:

Probably the first time that I’ve seen a goal by a team that pulled their goalie down a goal. Interesting.

  53. Dom says:

Didn’t Boston do it this year when they defeated Toronto?

  54. diehard says:

Thoughts on the MVP? Kane was a distant #2 to Krejci in scoring. Crawford wins 16, #1 in GA (playing more than 2 games), only trailed Rask in SV%, one shut out.
In Kane’s own words, “I think [Corey Crawford] might have gotten snubbed, to be honest with you.”

  55. theplanisworking says:

At least Jeremy “Lockout” Jacobs didnt get the Cup.

May the Boston franchise be cursed for 50 years!!!
