    YOU BOTH R-O-C-K!!

I had a blast in Pittsburgh on Friday and Saturday.
Got to meet JRay3, made my donation to the local economy (Rivers Casino), and had great seats to both games.

Looking forward to getting back up there real soon!

  6. Love the videos! Our Bucco representatives appear to be not only all-stars on the field, but in the good-guy department, too. I hope they all shine in their endeavors!

  7. Jeff Locke really looks like Mary Carillo.

  9. Awesome. Really happy for Pedro getting to be in the Home Run Derby tonight. I spent much of the last two years living in the same neighborhood in Manhattan that Pedro grew up in, and these people LOVE their baseball. Baseball and softball games going on constantly at Inwood Hill Park, with grown men.

Also happy for those folks that get to be in the stadium today. At PNC, it was such a blast. The Derby can get pretty tedious on TV, but it was great fun to watch it in person. Aside from the Derby, my two favorite memories from the day were watching Ichiro, of all folks, go yard time and time again during BP, and the F-14 flyover during the National Anthem. Anyone else remember that? I’ve seen several stadium flyovers, but nothing like that.

    • Saw one many years ago at TRS. Griffey was in it, that’s how long ago it was, and it was in the daytime.

They had a celeb softball game, too, and called it Workout Day. Couldn’t get tix to the game, but that day was every bit as much fun for my boys and myself.

      • I was there too Lucky, why didn’t you stop by and say hey ;-)

Frank Thomas hit this one drive to the fifth level in left center

It was an after thought then, tickets were cheap

Now 2006 on the other hand….

  10. Pedro appreciates his fans.
Cutch had to butt in to talk? What is Morning Joe………. a womans gabfest??? ;)
Locke, when not looking like kid in the candy store…… gave huge props to ray Searage!
Yes, Grilli is hot. In that room, and on the mound.
Melancon looks like he is expecting someone to pinch him, and wake him up.

Nice to see 5 Pirates go.
Maybe 1 or 2 more could have gone.
But gone are the days when a Pirate went because they HAD to take one.

  11. Great videos DK…been my favorite blog in sports for a while. Where do you look for what to add or subtract from your blog?

DK: Well, most of the links are to stuff from our site. Others are submitted, etc.

Thanks for the kind words. It’s a festive place.

  12. DK, excellent vids capturing the feelings of the players.
Glad to see more than the one MANDATORY Buc going to the game tonight. Hopefully those days are over.

I will be traveling to Pittsburgh tomorrow, meetings all day. Each time I am in Pittsburgh, you are out on the road. So I will honk at Trib billboards in your honor.

    Enjoy the game tonight.

    DK: Thanks.

  13. Finally had a chance to watch those videos. Really good stuff. Hope DK can use more of them. Jeff Locke looks exactly how I would think a 1st time all star would. Nice comment about the Prates all stars taking up the whole 1st class section on the plane.

I think if you looked up the word “cool” in the dictionary, you’d see Cutch’s face.

  14. The vids don’t work on my computer, time to upgrade (my computer)

If I remember correctly, the All Star game was at first a way to fund a players pension plan

I wonder if players like ARod are counting on that?

The new folks at work and some of my sisters, say, “You get a pension???”

  15. Wait, now the videos showed up.

Forget the new computer, gotta get a new Biz

  16. How many swing-n-misses for Pedro tonight?

Where’s Playoffs when we need him.

  17. Every year I excitedly tune into the Home Run Derby, and every year I get immediately hit with the sledgehammer-like realization that I’m going to have to listen to Chris Berman for hours.

  18. Oh no, Mets fans booed Cano. What terrible fans.

  19. Why am I not surprised that Pedro was booed when he was introduced at Citi Field?

  20. The guy pretending to play guitar next to Pitbull reminds me of Chris Berman.

    A caricature of himself.

  21. Won’t we have egg on our faces if Cuddyer hits more than Pedro.

  22. One of these days, one of those annoying kids on the field will actually catch a ball.

  23. Apparently Cuddyer puts on a display in BP.

  24. Why do they even take gloves out there. There are kids that are good baseball players in this country. I’ve seen them.

  25. Chapman’s telling him where they’re meeting the hookers.

  26. AJ just tweeted -

“Watch out ! Chapman might drill you from there !”

    Seriously.

  27. Cespedes is putting on a show. Wow.

  28. I dont know if I should feel gilted that I didnt see this show last week at PNC when the A’s where here or glad I didnt see this type of show. Mixed feelings.

  29. Here comes Pedro. Seems like a good time to go interview a few people.

  30. Pedro, Pedro!!

  31. uh oh…..

  32. That doo looks awful.

    Cover the ears. Do SOMEthing.

    It’s hurting your swing.

  33. Come on Gomez, he didn’t really say that.

  34. Poor Petey…

  35. Bye Bye Prince.

  36. Petey’s done, he has 6

  37. OK, time for Sharknado.

  38. Even during home run contests Pedro watches good pitches go by

  39. Chris Davis up to 8

  40. Hey Gomez, Barry Bonds is looking for you. Not really.

  41. Davis finishes with 8, Harper up now.

  42. I’m sure these two are a barrel of laughs at Thanksgiving dinner.

  43. Harper up to 5

  44. Cano finishes with . David Wright up now

  45. Hey there Ms. Nunster!

  46. Cuddyer round 2… so far adds 6 to his total

  47. It would be nice if the talking heads on Root TV that did nothing but lambast David Wright and Michael Cuddyer would NOW publicly apologize to them both.

All that whining, crying, complaining, bitching and booing for a guy who didn’t even make it out of the first round.

If you can spend 10-15 minutes on the air bashing a guy for picking his friend, then at least spend 30 seconds to say I’m sorry and I was wrong.
Time to man up ROOT Sports.

  48. Day one of no Bucco game and while I enjoy this event, it just isn’t the same….. Go like 60!

  49. Can’t believe I actually watched most of this. I get what I deserve.
But, man, if Harper has a “normal” pitcher throwing him meatballs down the middle, he’s still hitting them come game time tomorrow. Too bad his old man only throws those cutters breaking in on his son’s hands.
