  1. Jandy says:

    Grilled Cheese!!!!!!

  2. Great job on the interviews. Locke is like a kid going to his first ballgame.

    Excellent.

DK: Thanks. Hope these videos get hit. Would love to see more of this sort of thing across the board in the coverage.

  3. Playoffs by 2012 says:

  6. Playoffs by 2012 says:

HUGE Thank You to bman & LuckyNKentucky for re-posting the lines this weekend for me.

    YOU BOTH R-O-C-K!!

I had a blast in Pittsburgh on Friday and Saturday.
Got to meet JRay3, made my donation to the local economy (Rivers Casino), and had great seats to both games.

Looking forward to getting back up there real soon!

  7. Bizrow says:

100 nukes on 20-27, what the hey

    Thanks Playoffs

  8. My pleasure.

Glad you and JRay had a good time.

  9. Karen22 says:

Love the videos! Our Bucco representatives appear to be not only all-stars on the field, but in the good-guy department, too. I hope they all shine in their endeavors!

  10. Karen22 says:

I’m with Biz. Put on a show, Pedro!

    100 on 20-27.

  11. theplanisworking says:

    Double Ditto.

  12. theplanisworking says:

    Ditto.

  13. cosmo says:

    100 on 20-27 for Pedro

  14. Milo Hamilton says:

Jeff Locke really looks like Mary Carillo.

  15. Brandie says:

    And Water-Melancon!

  16. Brandie says:

Fabulous. So glad you had a good time!

  17. Lad9 says:

I would hit all the vidoes, except my work blocks them and my I-Pad won’t play them. Ticks me off. Will hit these on the desktop at home later.

  18. Brandie says:

    Rad Lad! My Buddy!

  19. Lad9 says:

I think Pedro is the prototype for this contest. He is tremendously strong with an uppercut swing, and he is in his hometown. So I am going to go nuts and take the triple odds for 28 or more dingers for 100 New York minutes please Mr Playoffs. Thank you. Go Buccos!

  20. Lad9 says:

Brandie! My favorite Muppet! We need to get a Playoffs line on how many nicknames you will accumulate on the blog… :) Hope all is well.

  21. Michael DE Pitt says:

For MLB.TV subscribers there is still free Pizza (as of 5:22 EST)
beacuse of the no hitter (dont ask me)
    but I got one

    http://www.mlb.com/dominono

    1 med from Dominos

good for us out of town Bucco fans

    Pizza < PNC

  22. Lad9 says:

Agreed. Playoffs, apologies to you not stopping by Friday night at the game. Had been given real good seats but I needed to stay with my benefactors, plus my spouse does not speak blog. Owe you two IC Lights your next trip in.

  23. It’s the hair, not the voice, right?

  24. aglebagel says:

Awesome. Really happy for Pedro getting to be in the Home Run Derby tonight. I spent much of the last two years living in the same neighborhood in Manhattan that Pedro grew up in, and these people LOVE their baseball. Baseball and softball games going on constantly at Inwood Hill Park, with grown men.

Also happy for those folks that get to be in the stadium today. At PNC, it was such a blast. The Derby can get pretty tedious on TV, but it was great fun to watch it in person. Aside from the Derby, my two favorite memories from the day were watching Ichiro, of all folks, go yard time and time again during BP, and the F-14 flyover during the National Anthem. Anyone else remember that? I’ve seen several stadium flyovers, but nothing like that.

  25. Milo Hamilton says:

    No, the voice too. :)

  26. theplanisworking says:

Now, that there is funny! ;)

  27. theplanisworking says:

Now, that there is funny! ;)

  28. theplanisworking says:

I have already given her, like 5.

I hope you arent telling this Hippo to work into overdrive?!

  29. Lad9 says:

Not at all. I think you can putt-putt around the pond and chill as your nickname duties have been more than fulfilled! A fiesty, likeable muppet like our Brandie will rack up the nicknames on her own.

Heading home, back on for the deby.

  30. theplanisworking says:

    Pedro appreciates his fans.
Cutch had to butt in to talk? What is Morning Joe………. a womans gabfest??? ;)
Locke, when not looking like kid in the candy store…… gave huge props to ray Searage!
Yes, Grilli is hot. In that room, and on the mound.
Melancon looks like he is expecting someone to pinch him, and wake him up.

Nice to see 5 Pirates go.
Maybe 1 or 2 more could have gone.
But gone are the days when a Pirate went because they HAD to take one.

  31. theplanisworking says:

Jeff Locke looks like a grown-up version of Charlie, from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate factory.

  32. Milo Hamilton says:

Morning Joe is on MSNBC. That would mean I’ve never seen it.

  33. theplanisworking says:

And I never heard of it, so we must be in good company.

  34. Saw one many years ago at TRS. Griffey was in it, that’s how long ago it was, and it was in the daytime.

They had a celeb softball game, too, and called it Workout Day. Couldn’t get tix to the game, but that day was every bit as much fun for my boys and myself.

  35. Ghost says:

Ah hah! You’ve tipped your hand.

  36. theplanisworking says:

    Luckmeister, how are you?

  37. pattonbb says:

Apologies to JAL and his great collection of links, but thought I should share this one…

    http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/72783/derby-snub-dom-unlike-bucs-fans-gracious?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

  38. tdb1977 says:

Going to go 100 on the 28 or more line! Pedro for the WIN!

  39. Bill Tull says:

Great videos DK…been my favorite blog in sports for a while. Where do you look for what to add or subtract from your blog?

DK: Well, most of the links are to stuff from our site. Others are submitted, etc.

Thanks for the kind words. It’s a festive place.

  40. bizrow says:

I was there too Lucky, why didn’t you stop by and say hey ;-)

Frank Thomas hit this one drive to the fifth level in left center

It was an after thought then, tickets were cheap

Now 2006 on the other hand….

  41. Brandie says:

    Double the props from Hipposter.

  42. Griffey, Jr. hit one right above us in right field. We were in perfect seats to get something, but it didn’t pan out.

We were here watching in 2006.

  43. Milo Hamilton says:

    :)

  44. cherokee23 says:

    100…….28+

  45. cherokee23 says:

“Festive” is a nice choice of words! LOL

  46. theplanisworking says:

I am so busy I could almost spin like a “Sharknado”.

I will honk as I pass Brandie, and Jandy’s exit on the Turnpike. I will also honk at any Trib billboard I see, because when I make a trip to Pittsburgh, Dejan is never in town, so I will honk in honor of him.

Travelling in the AM, meeting all day into the early evening, dinner with friends, then back to the Pond……… all in 93 degree heat.

    But, I am good, Lucky.
Good to see you on here.

  47. theplanisworking says:

DK, excellent vids capturing the feelings of the players.
Glad to see more than the one MANDATORY Buc going to the game tonight. Hopefully those days are over.

I will be traveling to Pittsburgh tomorrow, meetings all day. Each time I am in Pittsburgh, you are out on the road. So I will honk at Trib billboards in your honor.

    Enjoy the game tonight.

    DK: Thanks.

  48. Sorry I had to miss that movie on Sci-Fi.

When they make Hippo-nado, I won’t miss that.

    Enjoy your day tomorrow.

  49. Brandie says:

May I have 25 pierogies on 20-27 an’ at?

    Thanks, man!

  50. Brandie says:

    Evening, Minister Spunky!

  51. Brandie says:

    Go get ‘em, Plan!

  52. Brandie says:

    He has the best hair.

  53. theplanisworking says:

    Hippo-nado?
Lord, you are a glutton for punishment, eh? ;)

  54. theplanisworking says:

Night, Brandie Midget Muppet, 63 inches of drunken goodness! ;)

  55. pattonbb says:

Finally had a chance to watch those videos. Really good stuff. Hope DK can use more of them. Jeff Locke looks exactly how I would think a 1st time all star would. Nice comment about the Prates all stars taking up the whole 1st class section on the plane.

I think if you looked up the word “cool” in the dictionary, you’d see Cutch’s face.

  56. bizrow says:

    + 1,

We were in the upper deck, horrible seats for a baseball game

  57. bizrow says:

The vids don’t work on my computer, time to upgrade (my computer)

If I remember correctly, the All Star game was at first a way to fund a players pension plan

I wonder if players like ARod are counting on that?

The new folks at work and some of my sisters, say, “You get a pension???”

  58. bizrow says:

Wait, now the videos showed up.

Forget the new computer, gotta get a new Biz

  59. Brandie says:

    63 inches of drunken goodness?

  60. Irish says:

Thanks for the info, Michael… I’m enjoying mine now…
    Go Pedro!

  61. bizrow says:

    Thanks to you all

  62. Cmat0829 says:

    Let’s go 100 on 20-27

  63. Brandie says:

    Good evening, Irish.

A hearty Go Pedro as well.

  64. theplanisworking says:

Oh what the heck……… before I go to bed……

I will take 25 Hippos on the 20-27 line.

    Thanks, and Go Pedro.

  65. Nancy52 says:

I think in the 60s there were a couple years they had two games to fill
    the pension coffers.

  66. Brandie says:

Cannot wait to see how many nicknames I can earn.

  67. Keith says:

100 on 20-27. What the hey – this thing was built for him.

  68. Brandie says:

We all sound like enthusiastic little kids. It’s so great.

  69. Drew71 says:

How many swing-n-misses for Pedro tonight?

Where’s Playoffs when we need him.

  70. Brian says:

Every year I excitedly tune into the Home Run Derby, and every year I get immediately hit with the sledgehammer-like realization that I’m going to have to listen to Chris Berman for hours.

  71. Bill Tull says:

I guess I mean…what do you model your blog after? Or just your ideas of what the public wants?

  72. pattonbb says:

Oh no, Mets fans booed Cano. What terrible fans.

  73. tdb1977 says:

Why am I not surprised that Pedro was booed when he was introduced at Citi Field?

  74. Drew71 says:

The guy pretending to play guitar next to Pitbull reminds me of Chris Berman.

    A caricature of himself.

  75. Drew71 says:

No free agents for you, New York

  76. Arriba Wilver says:

Won’t we have egg on our faces if Cuddyer hits more than Pedro.

  77. Milo Hamilton says:

One of these days, one of those annoying kids on the field will actually catch a ball.

  78. Lad9 says:

Or maybe not after watching that last one.

  79. Keith says:

Apparently Cuddyer puts on a display in BP.

  80. Drew71 says:

Then I wonder how Fielder feels?

  81. Jandy says:

Get a good night’s rest for your big day tomorrow, Hipposter! Best of luck!

  82. Jandy says:

Locke is a cute kid ;)

  83. Milo Hamilton says:

Why do they even take gloves out there. There are kids that are good baseball players in this country. I’ve seen them.

  84. Jandy says:

if not too late, 100 units on the 20 – 27. If I am, it’s fine, no worries!

  85. Milo Hamilton says:

Chapman’s telling him where they’re meeting the hookers.

  86. Jandy says:

    I’ll be listening for Hippo’s honk :)

  87. Jandy says:

Well Cespedes is up to 13 in round one!

  88. Milo Hamilton says:

    AJ just tweeted -

“Watch out ! Chapman might drill you from there !”

    Seriously.

  89. pattonbb says:

Cespedes is putting on a show. Wow.

  90. Jandy says:

    Make that 14….Fielder had 5

  91. Big Red says:

    There ya go!

  92. Milo Hamilton says:

    Woo Hoo !

  93. Jandy says:

    Yup, up to 15

  94. Jandy says:

    LOL Priceless!

  95. Lad9 says:

    That is absolutely hysterical! LMAO.

  96. tdb1977 says:

I dont know if I should feel gilted that I didnt see this show last week at PNC when the A’s where here or glad I didnt see this type of show. Mixed feelings.

  97. Jandy says:

    Laddie! What up?

  98. pattonbb says:

Here comes Pedro. Seems like a good time to go interview a few people.

  99. Eric Bowser says:

    Here we go Pedro

  100. Lad9 says:

    Pedro, Pedro!!

  101. pattonbb says:

    uh oh…..

  102. Drew71 says:

    That doo looks awful.

    Cover the ears. Do SOMEthing.

    It’s hurting your swing.

  103. Milo Hamilton says:

Come on Gomez, he didn’t really say that.

  104. Jandy says:

    Poor Petey…

  105. Jandy says:

    up to 4!!

  106. Jandy says:

    5!!!

  107. Drew71 says:

    Bye Bye Prince.

  108. Jandy says:

    Petey’s done, he has 6

  109. Milo Hamilton says:

    OK, time for Sharknado.

  110. Thundercrack says:

Even during home run contests Pedro watches good pitches go by

  111. Jandy says:

LOL I was yelling at him to hit those pitches!

  112. Jandy says:

    Chris Davis up to 8

  113. Thundercrack says:

    :-)

  114. Milo Hamilton says:

Hey Gomez, Barry Bonds is looking for you. Not really.

  115. Jandy says:

Davis finishes with 8, Harper up now.

  116. Milo Hamilton says:

I’m sure these two are a barrel of laughs at Thanksgiving dinner.

  117. Jandy says:

    Harper up to 5

  118. Jandy says:

    now 8…

  119. Jandy says:

    done at 8..Cano next

  120. Jandy says:

Cano finishes with . David Wright up now

  121. Brandie says:

    63 inches of drunken goddess!

  122. Jandy says:

he’s up to 5, someone boo him!

  123. Brandie says:

    Hey there Ms. Nunster!

  124. Brandie says:

    “David!!!!!!! Dayyyyyyyyyyy-vid!”

  125. Jandy says:

    He finishes with 5

  126. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    It’s all good Laddie.
Double IC Light sounds good to me.

  127. Jandy says:

    hey, Muppet Brandie!

  128. Brandie says:

Sounds like the name of a cool website, make a Muppet of yourself. I would like to see DK and Plan as Muppets.

  129. Jandy says:

    you and me both…lol.
Hubby has on Fast Loud, so I have the derby on my lappy

  130. Jandy says:

works for me! I’m hoping our Hip-hip friend has a good day tomorrow….sending up prayers, sending out good vibes, and pulling for him :)

  131. Jandy says:

Cuddyer round 2… so far adds 6 to his total

  132. Jandy says:

OK added 8 for a total of 15

  133. Playoffs by 2012 says:

It would be nice if the talking heads on Root TV that did nothing but lambast David Wright and Michael Cuddyer would NOW publicly apologize to them both.

All that whining, crying, complaining, bitching and booing for a guy who didn’t even make it out of the first round.

If you can spend 10-15 minutes on the air bashing a guy for picking his friend, then at least spend 30 seconds to say I’m sorry and I was wrong.
Time to man up ROOT Sports.

  134. Jandy says:

    like

  135. Lad9 says:

    Same here.

  136. Lad9 says:

Day one of no Bucco game and while I enjoy this event, it just isn’t the same….. Go like 60!

  137. Ghost says:

    Double like.

  138. Ghost says:

Can’t believe I actually watched most of this. I get what I deserve.
But, man, if Harper has a “normal” pitcher throwing him meatballs down the middle, he’s still hitting them come game time tomorrow. Too bad his old man only throws those cutters breaking in on his son’s hands.
