  1. Drew71 says:

What a game for an opening weekend.

    University of Georgia (5)
    Clemson (8)

Both in the preseason discussion for the national championship game.

That discussion ends around midnight for one of them.

Gold John Stewart 1979 His biggest solo hit though his biggest solo hit.

  5. Drew71 says:

Tim Tebow survived the Pats latest round of cuts (to 68) and is STILL ON THE TEAM!!!(!!!)

Now back to your regular programming.

  6. Jandy says:

wow….after his last showing I thought for sure he was gone…

  7. pattonbb says:

I’ll be at the game tonight. I’m not a Clemson or Georgia fan, but Death Valley at night is a bucket list item for college football fans.

  8. Patrick(RI) says:

They (Owner & Coach) like him, and he is unlikely to shoot anybody.

  9. Drew71 says:

His last showing, Thursday night, was okay. Played the second half, so both with and against scrubs, and went 6-11 for 90 yards, two TD passes and one INT in the Pats 39-28 preseason “victory” over the Giants. Also ran 6 times for 30 yards.

Okay for a potential third stringer or possible development squad member. Certainly not to be confused with a starter or solid backup. But also not Tebow-Awful.

Unfortunately for him, he was Tebow-Awful in preseason “games” one and two. Did not play in three.

Wouldn’t terribly surprise me to see Tebow cut in the last cutdown and NE try to re-sign him to their development squad.

  10. Arriba Wilver says:

The Pats just like the attention. ;-)

  11. JoeyBats says:

    Hoka Hey everyone!
Pirates win…Pirates win!!! ….LXXVIII wins down, …and IIII to go.
Yes, GM Neal and Mgr. Clint ….82 wins DOES make a difference.
    Beat Em’ Bucs !

    Beat Em’ Bucs !
PS: Great to see Mr. Jones back among the living BATS !!

  12. JoeyBats says:

    yikes……..apologies for seeing/posting double….not sure what happened :-(

  13. kr70 says:

    Devine intervention

  14. radio wave says:

    Very diversified Drew today.

  15. Arriba Wilver says:

    It’s worth saying twice. :-)

  16. Drew71 says:

During NCAAF season, I follow and post about college football more than any sport except baseball. It’s just that time.

Looking at my first post, and speaking of Kr’s Divine Intervention, note which conference Georgia represents.

  17. radio wave says:

Great night at the yard last night. My wife the Cards fan pretty quiet. Going again tomorrow.

  18. Drew71 says:

Wow. Both the game and the site.

    Just wow.

  19. Drew71 says:

Did you have to Sell Your Soul to the Saban for those tickets?

  20. radio wave says:

What did you think of 2 time FCS defending champ N. Dakota State beating Kansas State?

  21. JohninOshkosh says:

Tough assignment for your Bobcats today, Radio Wave.

I’ll be at Camp Randall today. Badgers are 44.5 point favorites against UMass.

    Which means they will struggle.

I’d love to see your Bobcats pull the opening game upset just like they did last year at State College. I’ll be rooting for them. Louisville better not take them lightly.

  22. Arriba Wilver says:

Did you sit in those seats on the 200 level you mentioned before?

  23. radio wave says:

I think the game is tomorrow. Louisville is better than last year’s PSU team was. No upset this year. Have fun pounding UMass.

  24. J-girl wine-bibbing again. :D

Oh well, 10 years is worth it.

Shame the SEC is down this year, Drew.

(that ought to get a response from Drewolito)

  25. radio wave says:

No, that was a one time thing. Great seats if you can afford it.

  26. JohninOshkosh says:

Oh, it is tomorrow. Thanks. But, it’s on ESPN so good exposure for the MAC.

Those MAC schools are tough assignments for the “big” schools. I think Northern Illinois will beat Iowa handily.

  27. pattonbb says:

LOL…no, my neighbor has season tickets. I helped him cut a bunch of trees down, in return he’s bringing me to the game instead of his wife. She’s not nearly as happy about this as I am.

    Roll Tide.

  28. radio wave says:

  29. Arriba Wilver says:

  30. Drew71 says:

They weren’t the Auburn Trees. Were they?

  31. Drew71 says:

While I cannot claim that I expected it, I am also not flabbergasted.

  32. Drew71 says:

I cannot believe that in all seriousness I just wrote flabbergasted.

    Man, I’m getting old.

  33. Drew71 says:

Nope. Just saving you post. For later.

  34. Arriba Wilver says:

Next thing you know you’ll be flummoxed.

  35. Drew71 says:

    Every time Thunder posts

  36. Drew71 says:

Dejan. I think you should post the pitt game thread a coupla days early. So their fans can have two days of chest thumping hope.

Before the Mayans strike their program down.

  37. pattonbb says:

Nothing irritates my Auburn friends easier than Toomer’s Corner jokes.

    Tebow cried.
    Cam Newton lied.
    A tree died.
    LSU tried.
    Te’o’s make believe girlfriend died.
    Notre Dame wanted to hide.

    Roll Tide.

  38. Baywatch says:

+1 … and I’m no college football fan!

  39. 21sthebest says:

    Tebow released.

  40. Drew71 says:

    Just saw it.

The question. Gone from the Pats forever or do they try to sign him to their development squad?

  41. Drew71 says:

    +7 consecutive years

  42. bizrow says:

He may not be eligible for the taxi squad

  43. MadTurk says:

Drewman Did you see DK is going to make a prediction on the Steelers season? I hope he predicts not making the playoffs.

  44. Drew71 says:

Toledo earns one first down and then punts to end their first possession.

Florida drives 84 yards, mostly smash mouthed, for a 6 minute TD drive.

Toledo’s second drive is not much of one. Third and Long turns into Four and Out.

5:03 in the first, 7-0 Gators.

  45. Arriba Wilver says:

  46. Drew71 says:

    Fresh Meat

  47. Drew71 says:

    Bring It On, Dejan.

  48. Drew71 says:

Traded punts, leaning the field downhill for Florida, which starts their third drive from their 40.

  49. pattonbb says:

    oh no…..

  50. Drew71 says:

So that means 12-4 or 8-8.

  51. I just want to declare here, publicly, that I have “Man Love” for Garrett Jones!!

May he go 3/4 and drive in another 4 ribbies tonight. I’m even OK with another homer.

  52. Karen22 says:

    He has been cut…

  53. Drew71 says:

    10-3. It’s a game.

  54. cmat0829 says:

there is no good football reason for tebow to be anywhere close to any team’s roster… no idea what the Pats are doing, maybe it’s one last hurrah for Josh McDaniels and Tim Tebow. The faster Tim gets on with his “life’s work” the better.

  55. bizrow says:

Tweet out there Bucs pick up Morneau for Presley

  56. Lad9 says:

I heard the same. Getting him for a career backup OF….. That is some nice work.

  57. 21sthebest says:

    That’s pretty whelming to me.

  58. JMB says:

    I’m pumped!

  59. Arriba Wilver says:

That’s so lopsided it can’t be true. ;-) Has to be someone else involved.

    Whoa, if true.

  60. pattonbb says:

    Welcome to Pittsburgh Justin Morneau.

  61. bizrow says:

Also reports of a PTBNL or cash to Twins

I posted it on the PSU thread, but Dejan deleted it, don’t quite know why

  62. JMB says:

    PTBNL or $

  63. pattonbb says:

    Presley, PTBNL, and cash.

Bob Hasis is going to hate this trade.

  64. JMB says:

    Jerry Crasnick ‏@jcrasnick 26s
For what it’s worth, Justin Morneau is a career .249 hitter with .727 OPS in September. Easily his worst month. #pirates

    I’m still stoked but blah.

  65. Arriba Wilver says:

    Baseball. ;-)

  66. bizrow says:

    New thread up

  67. Arriba Wilver says:

I’m struggling with coming up with a downside.
