  1. JAL says:

If they play as well as they last night they should win this one.

  2. JRay3 says:

Both Stolmy Pimental and Kris Johnson in Pirates clubhouse today. A little gamesmanship on naming a starter?

Cardinals have not fared well against LHP this season, Johnson seems like the appropriate choice to take tomorrow’s start.

  3. Playoffs by 2012 says:

THANK YOU to Johnny Wisconsin for posting yesterday’s lines for me.
    I sincerely appreciate your help!

Makes my job a helluva lot easier when I don’t have to hunt to find everyone’s “wagers”

Max “wager” is 100 units on any single line.
All “wagers” must be in multiples of 5 units.
Play as few or as many lines as you’d like.
As always, this is for fun and entertainment purposes.

    Tonight’s Line
Total RUNS SCORED by the Pirates in tonight’s game
    Line is 4.5

    GOOD LUCK!!!

78 Down, only 4 more to go!!

Anything is possible if a person believes
    Mark 9:23

    KEEP CALM & BREAK .500

  4. Patrick(ri) says:

Here is hoping we get 7 strong from AJ. And that we are happy with that!

  5. bizrow says:

    Thanks Playoffs

    100 on the over

  6. cmat0829 says:

    100 over

  7. cmat0829 says:

tomorrow is call up day. both will be recalled i would think. be shocked if it wasnt johnson based on his great performance vs. dbacks. but pimental will pitch for the bucs some in september… good trade made better if he can contribute.

  8. Playoffs by 2012 says:

If you are going to miss Alex Presley, then you probably also miss rotary phones.

  9. Nate83 says:

When Marte comes back this trade makes our bench alot stronger. It is a far cry from June when we had Inge, Fort, Barmes, Gabby and Snider as pinch hit options.

  10. Lad9 says:

100 on the over please. Thank you. Go Buccos!! ALL IN!

  11. cmat0829 says:

and travel agents. and rabbit ears. baffles me how many can hate on Tabata but love so much on lil Elvis.

as this franchise turns the corner from laughingstock to competing for championships, us fans will need to adjust our expectations for prospects — we must be critical and aware of all of their gaps and shortcomings, not #FREEANYONEELSE giddy when anyone does something good in the MINOR LEAGUES.

We need prospects like Cutch…and Marte…and Cole….and what Polanco and Taillon seem to have…. not to fixate on the ‘best can do’ on suspects like Presley and Lambo and Allie and Snider and Tabata and….. I don’t think I’ve ever heard NH talk up the prospect abilities…us fans seem to do that for our favorites…. doesn’t serve anyone to do that. We have turned a corner and time we act like it.

  12. tdb1977 says:

Sure, why not. I’ll take 100 on the under. Going against Biz on this one. I’ll take a 4-2 Pirates win tonight.

  13. cmat0829 says:

To recap, picking up Morneau is a GREAT MOVE. Bucs 26-26 and needed a boost. Players, even NW, can’t complain that the FO needed to pick up reinforcements from the outside. Morneau, Byrd and Buck seem to be the type of veterans who will fit right in, so don’t think the chemistry will miss a beat.

But best part of Morneau move is they gave up almost nothing. Presley was gone anyway. $2.5M is in the bank (though I am aware it is more than budget, but so will revenues be based on increased attendance and postseason play). PTNL likely won’t be big name prospect. So why not roll the dice with Morneau. Great defense, smart hitter… until Marte comes back, you can still play Jones in RF and Morneau at 1B….when Marte is back they can mix and match Jones/Morneau depending on the hot hand. Big plus for the bench no matter who starts.

The postseason 25 may be kind-of interesting… positionally, would think we are looking at:

    C: Martin / Buck
    3B: Pedro
    SS: Mercer / Barmes
    2B: Neil
    1B: Morneau / Sanchez
    Util: Harrison
    LF: Marte
    CF: Cutch
    RF: Byrd
    OF: Jones

That may leave Tabata off if they go 13 players and 12 pitchers. Guess it really will depend on how Marte is doing health-wise and whether you need Tabby to be an option for OF defense/leadoff, etc.

Another option is going with 11 pitchers since you only need 3 starters and 13 position players.

Good things to think about…. pretty much means Lambo/Pie/Snyder/TSanchez are September helpers but that’s about it.

  14. Dadtackular says:

100 cups of coffee on the under

  15. Thundercrack says:

OK. We get it – you don’t care for Presley

  16. Bdhumbert says:

  17. cmat0829 says:

sorry, like putting too much sugar in the iced tea, I should know when to stop and taste. lets go bucs :)

no personal issue with me and presley, he just isn’t to me any different than any of the other RF suspects the bucs have tried, but he seems to get more love than anyone else…. just no idea why.

  18. Ryan76 says:

    I’d say its a big game tonight….

    According to Richard Justice (@richardjustice)
    8/31/13, 3:27 PM

In the last 19 seasons, 17 teams leading NL Central on Sept. 1 won the division

  19. Bdhumbert says:

I always thought Presley was a good player who would be a perfect 4th outfielder at some point – but probably not more than that. Would be great if they could resign Byrd – 1 or two year deal while they give Polanco a full year at AAA…

A Martel – cutch – Byrd outfield would be awesome defensively.

  20. The Gunner says:

The BMTIB is finally starting to live up to the BMTIB tag.

    100 on the under!

  21. theplanisworking says:

Presley is an ok player, but he really wasnt in the Pirates plans too far into the future.
I understand Morneau wont be here next year, but giving up a player that had multiple opportunities to shine — and didnt — isnt a big deal.

Now, we just need to win some games !!

  22. Miss? I still have one.

    Not really.

  23. theplanisworking says:

Now that is a good stat.
Wonder who the 2 that didnt were?

  24. MadTurk says:

Ditto oh Ditto and many more ditto’s

  25. Bill Born says:

    100 on the under Please
    Thank you.
Don’t forget Josh Bell is lurking on the horizon too.

  26. Cardinals have a very bad record against lefthanded starters.

  27. JAL,

You of all people know there is no “should” in baseball.

Each day you are only as good as your starting pitcher . . . . . and your ability to move runners up and get them home.

  28. Keith says:

    100 on the OVER. Thanks!

  29. Jason81 says:

Like the Pirates organization, I’m ALL IN.

    100 on the OVER, please!

  30. bizrow says:

I wish Alex nothing but the best. He wasn’t going to make the club next season anyways, and is out of options.

  31. Baywatch says:

Can’t keep up with all these threads. Are we ALL IN now? As in … HERE?

    Beat Em Bucs

    Go like 60

  33. theplanisworking says:

    394? Impressive, Biz.

    Thanks for this, as always.
You have a prize set aside for #400?

  34. Drew71 says:

    Where’s Morneau?

He Doesn’t Want To Be Here.

    Send him back.

  35. Drew71 says:

Biz. After today’s trade, you can add A Cold Day In Hell.

    Because, well, it happened.

  36. MadTurk says:

Have to be here to be sent back.

  37. theplanisworking says:

    + many.

  38. Drew71 says:

    Good point. Close the airport.

  39. JRay3 says:

Pirates recall Stolmy Pimental and option Jared Hughes to AA Altoona.

  40. theplanisworking says:

Johnson, or “The Olive” starting pitcher tomorrow.

  41. Dom says:

    100 OVER!!!

  42. bizrow says:

Yeah, I’ll come up with something

  43. bizrow says:

Good idea, never thought I’d live to see a week like this.

I’ll add it to the planets list?

  44. radio wave says:

At playoffs: I have not played in a couple of days. I am hopeful the team is as excited about the trade as we fans are. Give me 100 on the over.

  45. Ghost says:

Just want to temper some of the expectations for Morneau, only because some here will be hanging him in effigy the first time he ever makes an out with runners on (and we all know who you are, even if you don’t have a clue, yourselves). Morneau’s hot streak may have passed. Even with a HR last night, he is in a 2-for-31 slump over the last ten days. This too, will too. But his BA for the season is .259. So expect a .260-ish or so hitter with occasional pop. Basically, Garrett Jones of last year. Which is better than Garrett Jones of this year. So stop let’s stop the b_tching before it even starts.

(BTW, the mention of a Jones/Morneau platoon is silly and pointless. Jones will now get playing time roughly the same way Clint Barmes does. Our first baseman is Morneau and our right fielder is Byrd.)

  46. Chico says:

100 on the over. Let’s go Bucs!

  47. 21sthebest says:

    Lambo also optioned. Morneau activated.

  48. JRay3 says:

Good afternoon to the window, hard to believe the Bucs have a chance to enter September all alone in first place, time to win a series and do so.

    50 on the OVER

    thanks and Go Bucs!

  49. Jandy says:

well hubby scored tickets to the Curve game tonight!! Watched Grilled Cheese pitch the first inning. Looked GOOD! Sitting four rows up from the dugout and Jeff Locke is right in front of us :)

  50. 21sthebest says:

Morneau to wear #66 starting tomorrow.

  51. theplanisworking says:

They still hang people in effigy?

What is there really to bitch about? Its now up to the players, and coaches to get it done.
I am just happy the team is in a better position for September/October.

  52. theplanisworking says:

    Bring home a W.

    Oops, wrong game…………. :)

  53. Chico says:

    I’m in Encino, California.

  54. 21sthebest says:

It’s not uncommon to see a player switch leagues for the first time and do well because the pitchers don’t know him. Fingers crossed.

  55. Ghost says:

Want to add that I never believed that Morneau could have been had for simply picking up the remainder of his contract. Most likely, the Twins were holding out for more, and Neal Huntington shrewdly held off until the price dropped to being Alex Presley, a player on the bubble between being a 4th outfielder and a 4A player. That’s about right for a one-month rental in a pennant race.

  56. Jandy says:

100 Morneau’s on the over please!

  57. Jandy says:

Hey we want a W too!

  58. Jandy says:

Jeff is having an earnest conversation with Ricky White the strength coach

  59. Ghost says:

What’s there to bitch about? You know — every time we lose a game, they come out of the wood work: “Oooooh, Collapse III has started!” “Don’t be surprised if we hit 21!” “Neil Walker is a bust!” “Tabby is a dog!” “Clint Hurdle is the worst!” “Nick Leyva is the worst!” “The Pirate Parrot is the worst!” etc., etc.
They’ll be ragging on Morneau the first time he fails to rally us.

  60. 21sthebest says:

    2 for 27. Still bad.

  61. theplanisworking says:

Dont know if you read it yesterday, but
    Happy Anniversary.

    That is all.

  62. bizrow says:

    Thanks for signing in Chico

  63. theplanisworking says:

Hey, pal, leave the Parrot out of this!! ;)

You are right, but I guess I was hoping for better. Silly me, huh?

  64. Karen22 says:

    100 – OVER!

  65. Jandy says:

Bromberg pitching. Looking good. Later Loonies!

  66. Ghost says:

Right you are. 2 for 27. Anyway, the guy is allowed to cool off and I hope we don’t put to much on his shoulders. Like I said above, if he can just give us what Jonesey gave us last year, it gives us a fighting chance and I’ll be happy.

  67. Jandy says:

    Thanks friend! :*

  68. theplanisworking says:

Maybe the Twins were holding out for the Parrot? Or Leyva?

    Just kidding.

  69. bizrow says:

NH has outdone the other GMs, win or lose

Kudos to him, Kudos to Nutting

Not sold on Kudos to Coonelly, I will never like that guy, will always be Slick Frank

    Got this e-mail today

    Dear Pirates Fan,

Thank you for your continued support of Pirate Baseball. We are looking forward to an exciting postseason run. The payment for your 2013 postseason order has been received and posted to your account.

Any questions, please reach us at

Your postseason tickets will be arriving at the end of September.

    Who’d a thunk it???

  70. bizrow says:

    That is pretty dam cool

    Bill, this is something special

  71. Lad9 says:

Saw your post on the other thread. Doing ok tonight. Had to check out a while to cook dinner. Flat iron steaks with Stubbs Texas Steakhouse marinade. First time I tried it and it was a hit!

I refused to participate on the blog yesterday (other than to wish our girl Jandy the happiest of anniversaries) because I thought the whole ratings debate was inane.

Real excited about the Buccos going forward with the events of this week and very proud of our team going all in. Also excited for the Steelers to start up as I love BOTH teams. It is a great time of year to enjoy both squads and our Pitt Panthers. But tonight, Beat em Bucs. Go like 60!

  72. Ghost says:

Plan, you don’t dump on players just as soon as they have a bad at-bat, so I definitely was not making a preemptive strike at you. And there’s no crime in “hoping for better.” I know I am. But even if the averages play out, a .260’s-ish bat with not quite 20HR’s will give us more offense than we’ve been getting.

By the way, on mini-column thread, you said, “I thought the 2 words were “Plan Parade.”
What would a “Plan Parade” be? A cavalcade of jolly Hippos?
    I’ll be there!

  73. Lad9 says:

Just sent mine in today. Very weird feeling.

  74. Ghost says:

With you, Biz. At some future time, DK will have to go into further detail how FC’s hand was so deftly applied/not applied in this magical year. Too much ill-will has been built up by FC in my book, for him to be so easily let off the hook. To this layman fan, NH’s great work this year speaks for itself. And Bob Nutting has both set a new tone and cut the checks. Whatever it is or isn’t that FC is doing, we can’t see it.

  75. Lad9 says:

Ghostie you should have made that pre-emptive strike. Sources tell me that the pond is now mined and defended by cannons. Even the rhino is lying low. Hippo has gone all in! Be careful :)

  76. Ghost says:

They can’t have either. They can have tickets to our parade in late October.

  77. Clint just said on his show that Morneau is in the air and will arrive during the game. I’m psyched!! Good job, BMTIB!! (NEVER thought I would say that!)

And let’s get this out of the way right now——if Morneau does well, that’s great!

If Morneau does poorly, it’s because Bylsma played him on the wrong line!!!!

  78. JohninOshkosh says:

    Question for the field:

Do post season rosters have to be set tonight or tomorrow ?

p.s. Great line on the rotary phones, Playoffs. I had actually forgotten about those. My wife’s grandparents actually had a party phone, a la Andy Griffith, until the early 00’s!

  79. War Horse says:

    100 on the OVER, please.

  80. Pucknutz says:

    100 over

  81. Tom P. says:

Jandy, I sat two rows behind home plate at an Erie Seawolves game once. I was surprised how much faster the game was when you are right on the field. Enjoy yourself.

  82. Ghost says:

“Ghostie you should have made that pre-emptive strike.”
    ?? I don’t get it.

As for Hippo going all Rambo around his pond and everywhere else, yes, it’s true. The gentle, amiable, grass-eating Hippo we all know and love has been on a ‘roid rage or something, recently. Just the other day I saw him sauntering down the street, hitting on random girls, all while grabbing his junk and striking Johnny Bravo poses. Tsk, tsk…

  83. Ghost says:

    Encino Man!!

  84. JRay3 says:

AJ with a quick 10 pitch 1-2-3 inning and we are off. Let’s Go Bucs.

  85. 21sthebest says:

    Agreed. Who’s Bill?

  86. Lad9 says:

Meant you should have made your strike on the pond before he beefed up the defenses….

  87. 21sthebest says:

    Tonight. 11:59.

  88. Lad9 says:

I know the deadline is midnight 8/31. I believe you have to be on the 25 man or the DL to be eligible for the postseason. There is an exception if someone goes on the DL during tho postseason where you can put someone on who had been up before 9/1 but I am not sure of the technicalities there.

  89. JRay3 says:

I can’t wait for the day baseball goes to automated strike zone, should easily have been ball 4 with two runners on.

  90. JohninOshkosh says:

    Thanks, dudes. Much obliged.

  91. JohninOshkosh says:

I’ll be right there celebrating with you on that day.

  92. 21sthebest says:

All the DL spots on 8/31 11:59 are flex spots and anyone in the organization can take one of those. Good article on this on P2.

  93. JRay3 says:

Clint Barmes has been phenomenal the past two days with the glove, big DP to get out of inning.

  94. Naje says:

He’s been terrific for most of the season….not just the past two days. He’s a very important part of this stretch run. His glove is too good to ignore.

  95. Ghost says:

    Ahhh… Got it.
How true. Now I’ll have to outdo myself cooking up a way to get into that pond — without getting myself blown to smithereens. I think that’s how this all got started, by the way. Hippo shot me in the butt cheeks and the sight of blood triggered some change in him forever.

  96. theplanisworking says:

    + a whole bunch.

    Flatiron steaks are surprisingly good.
    Next time try this………….

Soak your steaks overnight in a marinate of steak sauce, and seasonings, then grill. YUM!

Look forward to the next 2 months more than ever. :)

  97. radio wave says:

Pirates flashing some mean leather this weekend

  98. Pucknutz says:

    Double ditto !!!!

  99. theplanisworking says:

  100. MadTurk says:

    Just send in the drones

  101. Steelag70 says:

I don’t want to jinx this team but I’m beginning to feel as though they have gotten past the grind of August, have caught their second wind, and are about to get on a good streak….

  102. JRay3 says:

Marlon Byrd goes LF corner for leadoff double, nicely turned on that Lynn pitch.

  103. MadTurk says:

+ oh so many on your post LOL Thanks for the laugh

  104. Ghost says:

By Jove, Mad, that’s it!! Will be calling in the coordinates to the Pond, tonight! Can’t wait (rubs hands together with glee)!!

  105. Lad9 says:

Flex sound like a fantasy football thing. :) Thanks 2 1. Good info

  106. theplanisworking says:

    You two are insane!!

But thanks for the laughs. :)

  107. theplanisworking says:

Oh Ghost, I know you weren’t sniping at me.

    A calvacade of jolly Hippos.
    Perish the thought.

  108. theplanisworking says:

Ghost, my Pond is “under the dome”.

    Keep trying……………. :D

  109. Lad9 says:

    AJ with the bat!

  110. Steelag70 says:

  111. JRay3 says:

Are you kidding me…AJ Burnett rips a single rf side for two out RBI and Buccos take early lead tonight.

  112. AJ helping himself!! Bucs 1-0 on a liner to right.

  113. theplanisworking says:

    AJ !!!

    1-0 good guys.

  114. Steelag70 says:

    Way to help yourself AJ!!!

  115. Steelag70 says:

    AJ tells Lynn to STFD!!!

  116. theplanisworking says:

    Man, this IS fun!

    2-0 good guys!

  117. JRay3 says:

And Tabby continues to come through,RBI single, 2-0 Buccos!

  118. Tabby with a nice single himself for a 2-0 lead!! More please!!!

  119. Lad9 says:

Tabby! Nice approach there to go opposite field. Pour it on!

  120. Ghost says:

(And I’ll figure something out for “the dome.” :D )

  121. Steelag70 says:

  122. Lad9 says:

    Absolute blast!

  123. JRay3 says:

Nice to see the Bucs do all this damage with two outs and with RISP!

  124. Steelag70 says:

    Amen JRay!!!

  125. Steelag70 says:

    Come on Neil….

  126. JRay3 says:

Loads of fun, nothing like pennant race baseball, forgot the feeling.

  127. Ghost says:

Who’d have thought we’d have gotten this kind of leadoff play from Tabby when Marte went down?

  128. Lad9 says:

    Will do. And same here!

  129. Thundercrack says:

AJ with the hustle on the bases.

  130. DemonDachshund says:

Meh, I’ll miss AP the same way I’ll miss the Fort when he moves on. They’re both scrappy, they both hustle, but they both have borderline talent to be playing at this level.

I’m sad to see them go because I liked the way they played the game, and I appreciate they gave their all while they were here.
I’m glad to see them go because they’re being replaced by better ballplayers. And, for that matter, sounds like Presley will get some ABs in Minnesota that he wasn’t good enough to get here.

  131. theplanisworking says:

Isnt it amazing how a trade or acquisition makes hopes soar?
They may not be saviors, but I feel better about the Pirates since October 1992.

  132. Steelag70 says:

Come on Cutch….let’s do some damage…

  133. theplanisworking says:

Cutch could blow mthis game wide open !!!!

  134. Steelag70 says:

    I admit…not I Ghost…I give Tabby credit….

  135. I usually don’t like when they swing for the fences, but it would be great for Cutch to hit his 100th for a granny!!

  136. Lad9 says:

The eagle has landed. Morneau’s flight is on the ground.

  137. JRay3 says:

Wished they could have scratched out a couple more, but will take 2….Lynn at 48 pitches through two, shaping up to be another short night for a Cards starter.

  138. Ghost says:

    I didn’t see it either.

  139. Steelag70 says:

Agreed JRay…at the least we get two big 2 out hits and make Lynn work….I will cut Cutch some slack after the August he has had….

  140. JohninOshkosh says:

I’m just happy that AJB did not get hurt.

  141. JohninOshkosh says:

Third Eye Blind still exists. Who’d thunk it ?

  142. Steelag70 says:

Need to get the dangerous Matt Carpenter…

  143. JRay3 says:

I was a huge fan of How’s it Going to Be and semi-charmed life back in the day. I bet if I looked hard enough I may find that CD around here somewhere.

  144. DemonDachshund says:

The mention of a Jones/Morneau platoon is silly and pointless because they’re both LHB who struggle vs. LHP… Or at least it appears to me by looking at Morneau’s stats from the last 3 years.

I would not be surprised to see a Morneau/Gaby platoon, with Jones moving to a first PH/spot start against tough RHP in RF.

  145. 2-1 now and first and third and two out. Come on AJ!

  146. JRay3 says:

Big K of Holliday to limit the damage, need the bats to keep attacking.

  147. Steelag70 says:

    Nice pitch AJ….

  148. theplanisworking says:

    Just missed a HR!
    Woooooooo. ;)

  149. JRay3 says:

El Toro a double off center field wall to start Bucs half of third.

  150. Pedro! Pedro! Great lead off double. Get that run back now!!

  151. Steelag70 says:

  152. Steelag70 says:

I like how are hitters are squaring up to CF the last few games…

  153. theplanisworking says:

    3-1 good guys!!!!

  154. JRay3 says:

Byed is the word, Pitates answer and get run right back….3-1 good guys! Byrd making early and often contributions.

  155. Steelag70 says:

    The Byrrrdddd Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  156. Lad9 says:

  157. A little Byrdie told me we just scored another run!!! 31- Bucs after the Byrd single up the middle.

  158. JRay3 says:

  159. Steelag70 says:

Byrd was a big part of the Rangers pennant drive in 2009…he was a good acquisition….

  160. Patrick(ri) says:

There may be no such thing as clutch-hitting, but whatever Byrd is doing is sure fun to anticipate and more fun to watch.

  161. JRay3 says:

This lineup has a lot better balance to it huh? And this is before inserting Morneau and getting Marte back.

  162. Lad9 says:

Thank you. We needed a surrogate for Jandy’s camel!

  163. Steelag70 says:

    Come on Russell….

  164. Steelag70 says:

Agreed…I am hoping Marte is back for the Rangers series…I have tickets…haha.

  165. JRay3 says:

+++….really hope he enjoys his time in Pittsburgh and considers sticking another year to bridge to Polanco.

His veteran presence should help the younger guys like Marte, Tabby etc.

  166. theplanisworking says:

    PLAN THE PARADE!!!!!!!!!!

    THANK YOU NEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  167. Patrick(ri) says:

    A very big bunt!

  168. JRay3 says:

GOOD BYE – clear the deck Martin blast coming….6-1 Buccos, and the OVER easily wins!

  169. theplanisworking says:

  170. Take that Lynn!!! Three run bomb by Martin! 6-1 Buccos!

  171. Lad9 says:

MARTIN!!! The place is going to explode!

  172. Steelag70 says:

    Something about that CF wall!!!!!!

  173. JRay3 says:

Awesome, I will be out in St Louis next weekend, and can’t wait to show Busch my Bucco pride.

  174. theplanisworking says:

Bob Robertson is now officially jealous!

  175. JRay3 says:

Light the Gulf Tower Bucco gold!

  176. Steelag70 says:

I’m telling you…I have a good feeling about this team…like they have found their second wind….

  177. That was not a G-Rated replay by ROOT. Lynn throwin’ down the F-bomb in frustration.

  178. Patrick(ri) says:

First time I ever saw a 3 run bunt.

  179. Ghost says:

The Pirates have absolutely WOMPED on the vaunted Cardinal pitching, this year. They all must be dropping F-bombs.

  180. Steelag70 says:

Instead of STFD, I think he said WTFJH???

  181. theplanisworking says:

    1971 WS. :)

  182. Jandy says:

TomP you are right! It IS faster. Altoona losing 6 – 0 but we’re enjoying ourselves :)

  183. Lad9 says:

I don’t know why but I feel the same. They are definitely playing up to the competition.

  184. Nate83 says:

It’s like Christmas for you plan. You expected to be underwhelmed with 3 pairs of sox and Santa got you a new car.

  185. JRay3 says:

  186. Patrick(ri) says:

  187. Lad9 says:

The Maryland Strongboy! I remember that afternoon very well…..

  188. Jandy says:

    Woop woop!

  189. tdb1977 says:

This is un-freaking-believable!!!!! Another romp taking place on the Cardinals. I hope there are a few more runs left in the Bucs tank tomorrow! I need to end this personal 2 game slide, which happen to be the 2 games they lost to the Brewers this week.

  190. JRay3 says:

They do seem to have a lot more jump and energy, feeding off one another…probably helps seeing management have your back as well.

  191. theplanisworking says:

    Curve win?

  192. Patrick(ri) says:

The Card fan shots are great!

  193. theplanisworking says:

    Yes. Yes indeed.

    Car >>>> sox. :D

  194. JRay3 says:

Hahahaha…. Beltran the loafer misplays ball, horrible defense, 7-1 Buccos as they turn this into a rout.

  195. Lad9 says:

Trip-trip-triple! Beltran wussed it. He was not all in!

  196. theplanisworking says:

Murtaugh was mad at first, but 3 run HR’s have a way of making forgiving easy!

  197. We gottem rattled. Beltran with the Holliday play of the series on that lazy flyball by Walker. Should have been third out, but Thank You!! 7-1 now. Come on Cutch get in the act.

  198. Steelag70 says:

    Awww Cutch…

  199. theplanisworking says:

    + many.

  200. Steelag70 says:

Let’s hope AJ can handle this prosperity…lol.

  201. Thundercrack says:

    Nice try Beltran.

I can’t help but think about all the games at PNC Park I’ve seen against the Cardinals. Lots of their fans there, lots of losses….and LaRussa

  202. twentytwo22 says:

McCutchen doesn’t HAVE to hit for the Pirates to score now. We’ll keep a seat on the bus for him across from Mike Tomlin though.

  203. theplanisworking says:

Just awesome to think with the 3 new additions, how the platoons……. defensive substitutions………. PHitters……….. bench depth will improve this club.

Dont forget, Marte, Grilli, and possibly Jaun D. coming back.

    Wooooooooooooooooooo. :D

  204. Patrick(ri) says:

Yeah, now he can relax and toy with these guys. I hope Cutch can relax a bit, too — he has got lots of help now.

  205. Lad9 says:

I would love to see that. We can always hope. They would probably have to give him an option on a second year..

  206. MadTurk says:

Cutch is an automatic not a standard. Bad clutch in his ride tonight.

  207. TJA says:

you know…on a “skyblast” fireworks night this late in the season…this would be the only times we USED to see the park filled with people. oh, another sign that the times have changed.

  208. Steelag70 says:

Reds up 2-0…Braves losing 3-1 and Nats losing 8-0….

  209. Jandy says:

    No.losing 9 – 0 top of 9th lol

  210. Ghost says:

Cutch is fine, whatever happens tonight. About all that’s left on the wish list for today is for A.J. to go about 7 strong innings, and for Jones to finish on a high note, on this, probably his last day as a regular.

  211. Lad9 says:

Right there with you. This is a very strong team even if Wandy doesn’t make it back. I got chills…..

  212. Jandy says:

    Austin Adams for Akron throwing 95 – 96 – 97 heaters

  213. MadTurk says:

That did not come out quite right

  214. TJA says:

good saturday evening, jandy. how are things out your way this evening?

  215. Ghost says:

Tell Austin Adams with a name like that, he destined to stay forever in AA ball. ;)

  216. JRay3 says:

Haren got roughed up by Mets tonight….not looking like the Nats are all that serious of making a run for playoff spot after all.

  217. JohninOshkosh says:

Ghost, you have a gift. Wife wonders what I’m chuckling at!

  218. Morneau has arrived!

  219. MadTurk says:

    Tabata just wonged that hitter

  220. JRay3 says:

Tabata continues to flash leather this series, enjoy watching this version of him.

  221. TJA says:

yea, cool video they just showed.

  222. Steelag70 says:

AJ is feeling it right now…

  223. Lad9 says:

    Groan… But I did chuckle Turk :)

  224. MadTurk says:

Well get him back to pitching please no time for that stuff.

  225. Lad9 says:

Somehow, I don’t think the Twin’s fans will see the same video of Presley’s arrival…

  226. MadTurk says:

Can’t help myself, things are going good for the Bucco’s, I am getting silly here watching by myself well the wife I working.

  227. Ghost says:

    Line of the day!!!

  228. Steelag70 says:

  229. theplanisworking says:

    You’re fired !!!! :D

  230. MadTurk says:

Jandy must be around the type o’s are getting worse for me.

  231. DemonDachshund says:

Anyone else feel like the Byrd trade woke the team up?

Or am I just seeing my own change in hope where I want to?

  232. Steelag70 says:

  233. theplanisworking says:

    HA!!!!!! ++++++++++

  234. MadTurk says:

I think it was the trade for buck. They see the dollar signs for the playoffs now.

  235. Lad9 says:

Turk is on a roll tonight

  236. Steelag70 says:

Demon…I have been thinking that too…different feel about this they have their second wind…

  237. Ghost says:

No. Poor Alex. And the intern from the Twin’s FO sent out to the airport to pick him up will probably greet him with, “You look smaller in person.”

  238. Ghost says:

Thank you, kindly. But don’t show her MadTurk’s line below, whatever you do…

  239. JohninOshkosh says:

I think you are right. He was a spark for the Mets as well. Even with him being traded, I think he’ll still be regarded as the Mets 2013 offensive MVP when the talking heads review their season.

  240. Lad9 says:

Whimpering. Make him stop Mommy… No more

  241. Steelag70 says:

He has already had an impact on GI Jones…

  242. MadTurk says:

The Loony Bin Nurse is late today, Feeling a bit Lucid without the meds.

  243. theplanisworking says:

The Twins probably will make him hitchhike……. ;)

  244. Thundercrack says:

The Cardinals are playing as if the have the same record as the Cubs or Brewers

  245. Steelag70 says:

    Come on AJ.,…

  246. radio wave says:

I cannot believe that the Cardinals are playing like little leaders all weekend.

  247. Steelag70 says:

I honestly think that they mentally have no answer for the Buccos…

  248. DemonDachshund says:

This is bizarro Cards/Pirates. Every bounce, every ball taking off and landing just a little beyond the fielder’s glove… This is the exact opposite of what I’m used to.

  249. MadTurk says:

Anything else may get him arrested.

  250. This is it Cutch. Come on buddy, break out of it!

  251. Ghost says:

Ahhh, yes. Nurse Ratched, a blast from the Asylum past.

  252. Drew71 says:

    Georgia 14 – Clemson 14

Only 28 offensive plays and 11 minutes.

  253. Steelag70 says:

Wghat a great day!! Watched my beloved Aggies beat up on Rice and now my beloved Buccos beat up on more birds…haha…

  254. JohninOshkosh says:

    “Me am hate Pirates.”

  255. Steelag70 says:

    Heck of a game…

  256. MadTurk says:

I see the meds have not hindered your memory. Nice!

  257. Thankfully we haven’t needed Cutch to carry the team the last two nights, but it would be nice for him to snap out of this mini-slump.

  258. Drew71 says:

Hold on. I’ll find some soccer highlights.

  259. florida steeler says:

Cutch looks like he has no confidence at the plate the last two days.

  260. Ghost says:

Of course, Cutch being stymied is part of this bizarro world, today.

  261. MadTurk says:

I think it is over confidence. Thinks he can and will hit anything thrown to him right now.

  262. theplanisworking says:

    Groat will be mad.

  263. theplanisworking says:

Just saw Morneau in the dugout.

Somewhere, Tony LaRussa is punching a wall………..

  264. Wild Bill says:

You all sound like you’re having a great time with this game. Wish I could see it in Ocean City. Go Bucs!

  265. TJA says:

how wierd is this to see the new guy’s arrival in the middle of a game? anyone ever see this before?

  266. Thundercrack says:

I hope your mention of soccer in the baseball thread gets deleted.

But I didn’t post it so it probably won’t be a problem

  267. Lad9 says:

    Hope he breaks his hand…

  268. Drew71 says:

  269. Thundercrack says:

Cutch looks off in the batters box tonight

  270. MadTurk says:

Nothing against Jones but it would be nice to see what the fans would do if Morneau pitch hit for Jones this inning

  271. TJA says:

one thing though: cutch, this season, is NOT the only hitter on this team. he is an mvp for sure, but it is nice to see some other bats coming alive.

  272. bizrow says:

The Legend platoons with Byrd, and is a good stick off the bench

    Agree, DD

  273. Lad9 says:

I just realized that since I am going tomorrow, I will see the Morneau debut. Awesome!

  274. TJA says:

    think clint would do that?

  275. Ghost says:

With the Pirates? No, just departures around this time of the year. We’re in unchartered territory for these last 20 years. (Though Shawon Dunston did show up earlier than required and hit some home runs for us out of the gate back in ’97. Recall the opposing manager jokingly complain that someone should have told Dunston he had 72 hours to report. )

  276. Lad9 says:

Wish you were here Bill. It is a lot of fun so far!

  277. MadTurk says:

    Guess not Gaby is in.

  278. TJA says:

give him the pittsburgh welcome, lad!

  279. bizrow says:

    Yup he does

Its starting to sink in, the club is all in

Last month or so, it seems as its been too easy for him

  280. theplanisworking says:

  281. MadTurk says:

He could still add him as a defensive replacement

  282. bizrow says:

Pretty dam cool the guy made it in time to be on the club.

    All in

  283. TJA says:

is gaby the odd man out in the long run now?

  284. Steelag70 says:

    He’s a professional….

  285. Ghost says:

Wonder if Clint just set up the debut of Morneau for tonight by putting in Gaby, right now? Morneau in for Jones would be, well, awkward. But Morneau for Gaby if a righty is pitching later would make sense…

  286. theplanisworking says:

    Go like 66, Biz. ;)

  287. theplanisworking says:

    Go like 66, Biz. ;)

  288. Keith says:

“Me am not Clint Barmes. Me make outs. Me am not Andrew McCutchen. Me drive runners in.”

  289. MadTurk says:

I think is it a toss up between him and Jones. May be who is hot and who is not.

  290. DemonDachshund says:

Think we might see him for AJ in an inning or two.

  291. TJA says:

forgot about the dunston story. thanks for the laugh ghost. also, “unchartered territory”. words to remember this september.

  292. JRay3 says:

Gaby rips the LH Siegrest for a double, he is now hitting .251. Bics have 6 XBH out of their 13 hits tonight.

  293. TJA says:

    sure seems that way.

  294. DemonDachshund says:

As I mentioned above, Morneau hasn’t hit lefties well since 2010.

My guess is Morneau/Gaby platoon at 1B, while Jones heads to the end of the bench as the top PH against RHP and occassionally starts vs. tough RHP.

  295. TJA says:

  296. Steelag70 says:

Dare I say this offense may finally be getting some consistency??

  297. Drew71 says:

    97 yard drive.

    SEC 21 – Clemson 14.

First play of the drive from their own three was a 37 yard burst by the unheralded fullback. So on first and goal, the Dawgs gave it to the FB to dive into the end zone.

  298. theplanisworking says:

Are you getting your lighter ready for the Third Eye Blind concert?? ;)

  299. Steelag70 says:

The “wall” inning for AJ…let’s see if he can break it down….

  300. JRay3 says:

    Ha, you got me.

  301. Drew71 says:

    Death Valley indeed

  302. Wild Bill says:

    Keep it rolling, Lad!

  303. TJA says:

so what does kris johnson bring to the party tomorrow?

  304. JRay3 says:

Lost in all the offensive fireworks tonight is the shutdown effort AJ has put together. He is going to close August on a bit of a roll, good to see.

  305. Ghost says:

So after the MLB documentary about the Pirates’ 2013 championship year concludes and the credits are rolling, footage of Presley lost on some rural Minnesota highway trying to thumb a ride will be thrown in with the other outtakes.

  306. theplanisworking says:

  307. DemonDachshund says:

Or he brought Gaby in to face a LHP, like he usually does?

  308. Ghost says:

    Party streamers and gazoos.

  309. TJA says:

hadn’t seen your post above, demon. good thoughts.

  310. JohninOshkosh says:

The thing I like about Morneau is you know he approved the trade. Though not a 10 and 5 guy, the Twins are a class organization and Morneau was well liked here in the Upper Midwest. You know they would not have sent him somewhere he did not want to go

  311. DemonDachshund says:

    A broom, I hope.

  312. Steelag70 says:

Absolutely…back to back “ace” type starts this weekend….anything good from Johnson tomorrow is a huge bonus!!

  313. TJA says:

    it’s a party then for sure! :)

  314. Steelag70 says:

You wonder if Liriano had anything to do with that… :)

  315. theplanisworking says:

I take it you are a big fan of the

    Cheaters Conference?

And full disclaimer, I root for Pitt.
We will get our doors blown off, but hey.
    Its just football, right?

  316. DemonDachshund says:

That and showing up hours after the deal was made… He wants to be there. He wants another run at the playoffs.

  317. Ghost says:

Ordinarily, I’d say yes. But tonight I gotta think we’re gonna see Morneau and that the chess pieces had to be played this way for that to happen.

  318. theplanisworking says:

I was hoping “The Olive” would pitch tomorrow.
The bars could have had martini specials all day.

  319. theplanisworking says:

    Very good point.

  320. Steelag70 says:

    Dominating performance by AJ tonight…

  321. TJA says:

good evening, john. good points. never had a reason to dislike the twins.

  322. Steelag70 says:

    (Coughing)…Aggie fan here…lol

  323. bizrow says:

He made it here, symbolic and a thank you to Morneau for hustling like that.

    Sold out crowd, standing ovation,

    Its magic

  324. Lad9 says:

He was all smiles in that dugout too. He definitely wants to be here. I think Neal hit three out of the park from a personality standpoint as well as the on field abilities.

  325. Drew71 says:

    Yes. Seven years of cheating.

    Well. Eight now.

  326. bizrow says:

    That is one big positive

He will get a swing tonight

  327. TJA says:

i missed this, but how many pitches did a.j. toss this evening?

  328. theplanisworking says:

  329. JRay3 says:

Largest crowd at PNC tonight, second largest in PNC history, 39,500+

  330. bizrow says:

    Dominating performance by the PBC

In all aspects, from Nutting to NH on down

Oh, my, did I skip anybody?

  331. JohninOshkosh says:

Evening, TJA! Nice to see you here on evening thread!

  332. Steelag70 says:

    How has A&M cheated??

  333. theplanisworking says:

  334. TJA says:

boy, when things are going your way…they really are going your way. nice play walker.

  335. Lad9 says:

I believe he threw 92 pitches

  336. JRay3 says:

What a diving stop by Walker, the Pirates team defense has put on a display this series.

  337. TJA says:

  338. theplanisworking says:

The Parrot, ball girls, and bat boy.

  339. TJA says:

thanks, lad and plan. appreciate it.

  340. Drew71 says:

Great tweet from an old friend.

    Colin Dunlap:
Felt like @ROOTSPORTSPIT should have done all the Morneau handshakes with super slow-mo cam and “Chariots of Fire” theme in background.

Hard to make it through a day without a Chariots reference.

  341. Drew71 says:

    Ummmm. Sarcasm.

  342. TJA says:

thanks, john. appreciate it. yea, don’t always get to do this. it’s good to join the loonies on a saturday evening.

  343. Ghost says:

Great observation. Byrd (and Buck) and now Morneau have to be on cloud nine with the way they’re being embraced by the club and the fans, and by parachuting into this Cinderella pennant race with the Pirates. And the rest of the clubhouse has to feel SO rejuvenated. The Cards must be looking at the Pirates’ dugout and shaking their heads at what they see taking place before their eyes, just across the diamond.

  344. TJA says:

how’s things in the midwest tonight?

  345. JRay3 says:

Hey Plan I root for Pitt too, they just can’t compete with the economics of SEC football, recent story out has a WR that committed to A&M being offered 300,000 and 600,000 according to his kids father by two SEC schools.

  346. theplanisworking says:

Actually, that brings up a great point.

Do you remember before Saban was hired that Alabama was almost the second school to be put on the “Death Penalty” for numerous violations? Just sayin its seems to be in their blood down there, thats all.

And, I have a friend who is a HUGE Alabama fan.
    His take on all this?
” I dont care if Saban personally kills all the opposing players and coaches. As long as we win, I dont care.”

    Just sayin.
And, Just giving you a hard time, Drew.
No matter how they do it, 7 straight championships is impressive.

  347. JohninOshkosh says:

Great to see. Andy Van Slyke’s “Lost Generation” is finding their way back home.

  348. TJA says:

    outstanding idea.

  349. theplanisworking says:

JRay, todays SEC is yesterdays SWC.
    Thats not a compliment.

  350. bizrow says:

    The Twins got Sano

    Good organization

My Dad was born in Albert Lea, MN

Will always be a Twins fan, had a few brews at the old stadium in 74

  351. TJA says:

6 -0 red stockings vs. rockies. yikes. early though in denver…one never knows.

  352. bizrow says:

No I think I missed Slick Frankster

    Hi Frank

  353. JohninOshkosh says:

Very well. Schools start on Tuesday so folks are trying to enjoy summer’s last hurrah.

  354. JRay3 says:

  355. bizrow says:

    Wait till October ;-)

  356. TJA says:

beautiful state minnesota is. been there on business a few times.

  357. Steelag70 says:

I would not be surprised if that story was true….the way heplayed today, I can see why someone would offer him that…lol. A 6’5″, 240 lb receiver with 4.5 speed….

  358. Ghost says:

Yeah, I committed lame Yogi-ism, there.

  359. theplanisworking says:

Ha. I was just seeing if you would say that.
I knew where you were going………..

  360. bizrow says:

Check Colin out on the FAN, you never know when his show is on though

Excellent fellow, great sense of humor, much like Gene Collier (as I duck for misspelling and liking a guy from the other and crappier newspaper)

  361. Lad9 says:

And wondering, “where was my GM while the Pirates upgraded?” Good point Ghost.

  362. Drew71 says:

  363. Ghost says:

Petey gets out, and so no Morneau until the morn.

  364. Drew71 says:

No prob. Pirates will not lose another game.

  365. JohninOshkosh says:

They’ve had 2 managers in my adult life. Loyal organization. That stadium is now the Mall of America. There is an amusement park in the middle of the mall where the field once stood. The home plate marker is near the Sponge Bob roller coaster entrance. Also there is the original seat Killebrew hit with the longest homer in the park’s history. It’s hanging on the wall in the exact spot it was in the stadium. You go by it on the log ride! Pretty neat.

Spent a summer in Albert Lea interning.

  366. Thundercrack says:

You need to be banned. Or blocked.

  367. Ghost says:

Really liking the reoccurring “Hi Frank” meme. :o

  368. Drew71 says:

They just announced that Hines Ward holds the Georgia record for most passes thrown in one GA bowl game (59) and most passes caught (12) in another.

Too bad he never amounted to much in the NFL.

  369. Steelag70 says:

Both BP’s have really taken control of the game…

  370. theplanisworking says:

Oh, but there are some on here who are disgusted by it, and have absolutely no problem letting you know it.

But I like it too. :)

  371. Drew71 says:

  372. Steelag70 says:

    A total bust….

  373. theplanisworking says:

    Death Valley, indeed !!! ;)

Drew, just giving you a hard time with this. Really.

  374. TJA says:

getting closer to the first major hurdle of breaking the streak/plus .500!! beat ‘em bucs! have a good night night all.

  375. theplanisworking says:

    Bust in Canton. :)

  376. pattonbb says:

    Fear the 1st place Bones

  377. JRay3 says:

Behind seven dominant innings from AJ Burnett, and a five run third inning highlighted by Martin’s 3 run HR the Bucs move into sole possession of first place by taking the series from the Cards 7-1 and there was nooooooooooo doubt about it.

With the win the Pirates improve to 79-56, matching their win total from a year ago with a month still to play. The Pirates are now 10-5 this season against the Redbirds. The Bucs close out August with a .500 mark of 14-14 and have now won 7 of their past 12. The Bucs are now 1 game up in the NL Central and 10 games up for a playoff spot.

The Pirates will go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon with Kris Johnson most likely making his first pro start and second appearance of the year.

    Let’s Go Bucs!

  378. bizrow says:

I’m really glad he got the 1000 catches

Any ideas though on new Steeler shirts for my two granddaughters?

  379. TJA says:

  380. bizrow says:

    5 and 2

  381. Lad9 says:

RAISE IT! First place. And the Cardinals looked lost. Bring out the brooms for tomorrow. WOOOOO HOOOOO

  382. theplanisworking says:

    Raise the Jolly Roger,
and whatever else you want to raise.

This team now has the feel of a championship competitor for the rest of the year.
Good job to all. neal, you reading this?

This is going to be fun !!!

  383. Thundercrack says:

The Pirates enter September in first place.

Lets hope the enter October the same.

  384. Drew71 says:

This just in. Manziel’s a punk.

  385. theplanisworking says:

    43 and 99.

  386. Lad9 says:

Or if you listen to Edmund Nelson, bust in Akron. :)

  387. Ghost says:

The Pirates won, Frank. How ’bout a freshie? ;)

  388. theplanisworking says:

    I remember that now!
    Too funny!

  389. theplanisworking says:

  390. Steelag70 says:

I actually thought it was funny…

  391. bizrow says:

Still many miles to go before we sleep

Every advance will make us more nervous

You know, this one ride I’m gonna savor

And like Dejan said, in so many words

    About time

    All in

  392. Ghost says:

    Hi Frank!

  393. Lad9 says:

    Well said Biz. All in….

  394. 21sthebest says:

Duke Welker is the PTBNL that Thundercrack’s boy gave up.

  395. Thundercrack says:

    Pretty good player.

Keep those updates coming and you can be my boy

  396. theplanisworking says:

    Thank you for this.

  397. Karen22 says:

ALL IN!! September 1st…alone in first!

    THIS is exciting!

  398. theplanisworking says:

    Preach it sister!!!!!!

  399. bizrow says:

    Keep that hat glued on

And exactly where did you get those pajamas?

    I’m 63, I need some magic

    Being serious

This season is beyond my wildest dreams

    Regarding those jammies though….

  400. MadTurk says:

    I can agree with that

  401. bizrow says:

    Horrible with names, sorry Brian

  402. DemonDachshund says:

I won’t let them wear 7. Won’t wear it myself.

Anything else is fair game though.

  403. bizrow says:

Brian, sorry for the name mistake

    I’m horrible with names

  404. 21sthebest says:

Thundercrack’s boy promotes Gregory Polanco to Indy.

  405. 21sthebest says:

    No problem James.

  406. bizrow says:

    What does Playoffs say?

Where can I buy a Jolly Roger flag?

  407. bizrow says:

    Give me some ideas

    Agree with no No 7

43 is a good option to get us thru the year

    Need their sizes though

  408. bizrow says:

    Is that Dejan in English?

  409. bizrow says:

Seriously, that makes two steps up for him in one season?

Who is this FO? What happened to the old one?

Thank goodness the old one is gone

  410. Thundercrack says:

Indy is going to the playoffs. Some of their players will be promoted up here so they’ll need the players

  411. bizrow says:

You threw the curve with your last name, I had it till then

Think Pedro with a high and tight fastball, deer in the headlights

Regarding Biz, my Dads first name was Mayo

    Biz was much better ;-)

My real name is Ron, but Biz fits much better

  412. bizrow says:

Its a real nice move for Polanco, and a good sign for his progress

Some pitchers will come up too.

If the system is flowering, which it seems to be

    Test em, bring em up

They seem to be taking the gloves off and challenging their talent

    All in

  413. Thundercrack says:

    Flowering …and flooded

  414. 21sthebest says:

    Dejan in English
Dejan (Serbian Cyrillic: Дејан ) is a Slavic male name derived from deja, meaning “to do something, to act.” It may also be related to the Latin deus, meaning “god”.

  415. Ghost says:

Flooded? I await Polanco too, but now we’re getting giddy. Lambo was the best internal bat we had to add to the parent club.

  416. theplanisworking says:

    Great recap of the game…………………………

  417. bizrow says:

    The flood passed

    Also in my basement

Both cost lots in many ways ;-)

  418. bizrow says:

Just trying to be nice because Dejan said no dissing of the BMTIB

NH and Nutting have done well, so far

Don’t see a space for 2013 as a WS championship post at PNC yes.

Maybe that is what Slick Frank is working on

  419. bizrow says:

I will follow Slick Frank with cartwheels over the Clemente Bridge if it happens though ;-)

  420. theplanisworking says:

THAT I want to see. !

  421. bizrow says:

    Gotta play tomorrow

    Today was a sweet day

    See what happens tomorrow

  422. Baywatch says:

    Yippee, to the third power!

  423. Wore my “Raise the Jolly Roger” shirt to a low-A game in Bowling Green, KY tonight. Got a few stares and reads, but no laughs or snide remarks.

    We’ve made great strides.

  424. theplanisworking says:

    Good to see you here.
I was afraid after Friday’s blogs, we wouldnt see you.

Whenever I go out now, people see my Pirates hat, and actually come up to me , and wish the team well. It is refreshing.

  425. Arriba Wilver says:

I’ve never been a Raise the Jolly Roger fan in the past, but I’m considering getting one of the Jolly Roger flags and putting it out in my front yard.

  426. theplanisworking says:

    Fun, isnt it?

  427. Arriba Wilver says:

  428. theplanisworking says:

I posted earlier, that this is the best I have felt about the Bucs since 1992…………… at any time in any season.

neal has done his job, fans have done their job (attending games).
Just up to Clint and the players now.

Shapes up to be a great September.

    Good night, AW.

  429. Kevnj says:

First game I made it to in the burgh this season. Great game great time. Am I the only one unfortunate enough to listen to that awful band afterwards? Not only is their third eye blind but all their ears are tone deaf!

    Go buccos!!!
