    MULTI-LINE MONDAY!!!

Since, I was not able to post a line yesterday, tonight will have THREE lines!

******PLEASE READ WHAT IS WRITTEN BELOW******
PLEASE PLACE YOUR “WAGERS” AS REPLIES IN THIS COMMENT BOX

Max “wager” is 100 units on any single line.
All “wagers” must be in multiples of 5 units.
Play as few or as many lines as you’d like.
As always, this is for fun and entertainment purposes.

Anything is possible if a person believes
    Mark 9:23

    KEEP CALM & BREAK .500

  2. JohninOshkosh says:

    Line 1 50/Over
    Line 2 25/Under
    Line 3 50/Loss

  3. Nate83 says:

    Line 1 – 75 on the under
    Line 2 – 50 on the Under
    Line 3 – 25 on the win.

  4. TCB says:

    #1 over for 100
    #2 over for 50
    #3 loss for 25

  5. JohninOshkosh says:

Ugh, sorry playoffs. Meant to be in your post.

  6. JohninOshkosh says:

Cole does not get a break facing Darvish.

Currently, it’s 98 degrees in Arlington, TX.

  7. MadTurk says:

Reports are he is not pitching well in the last four games and his velocity is down as well. Maybe we did get a break after all?

  8. JohninOshkosh says:

Yeah, I did see his last start was Steeleresque. Maybe something going on with him physically.

  9. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    No worries Johnny Wisconsin.

  10. SteelAg70 says:

Will be interesting to see how Cole handles the heat down here…supposed to be near 100 for all three games…

  11. MadTurk says:

Could be the old forearm getting tired thing. Hope not for his sake but I don’t mind us seeing him when he is on a down note.

  12. JoeBucco says:

Never fear, I am here – in Arlington tonight. I have a seat in the front row beside the Pirates dugout, and I am here to personally guarantee an end to this 82 nonsense so that we can all get on with getting to 92. Or 95. And the postseason. And the World Series.

Bucs can’t lose when I’m in the house.

    Go Buccos!

  13. AJS says:

You mean like how Wainwright had been on a down note? The Bucco line up is exactly what pitchers on a down note ordered!

  14. JoeBucco says:

I’ll be live tweeting, with photos, from down here in Arlington for anyone interested in following along with win #82 tonight who can’t be here in person.

@JoeRozsa on Twitter for anyone interested.

  15. JoeBucco says:

    It’s a dry heat. ;)

  16. NMR says:

It’s good to see the Trib taking content ideas from prominent baseball blogs like Fangraphs. Definitely provides perspective not usually found in standard print.

    http://triblive.com/sports/pirates/4640987-74/pirates-ball-ground#axzz2eOcFAxzZ

    http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/pittsburgh-turns-the-power-out/

  17. John Lease says:

Oh for God’s sakes, Barmes AGAIN?

Looks like Clint really wants to lose. If that’s the case Clint, quit wasting the service time of Cole, and pitch some of the other jabronis.

  18. John Lease says:

If they do, what will you give me?

It’s come to that for me, that or I’m leaving the car running.

  19. 1) 100 on over
    2) 100 on under
    3) 100 on win

  20. Nor Cal Stlrfanrtc (Ryan) says:

Line 1: 100 on the Over
Line 2: 100 on the Under
Line 3: 100 on the loss

  21. MadTurk says:

:-) I did not say our hitters would or could take advantage, just that I am happy he is not at full strength.

  22. Nor Cal Stlrfanrtc (Ryan) says:

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu’ve got to be kidding me.

I don’t like this match up at all. If it weren’t for the ridiculous year Sherzer is having in Detriot, Darvish would be the AL Cy Young.

On the flip side, the Rangers lineup doesn’t look so terrifying with Josh Hamilton (almost typed Harrison) in the lineup.

    Beltre tough though.

  23. Nor Cal Stlrfanrtc (Ryan) says:

Barmes is going to cause this team to lose? All by himself?

  24. MadTurk says:

Mercer is getting rusty sitting on the bench a lot lately.

  25. Karen22 says:

Looks like Clint forgot we get a DH tonight & don’t have to bat the pitcher!

  26. Drew71 says:

    Jones hitting eighth, huh?

    I guess tenth was taken.

  27. Bob Hasis says:

Heck no Barmes can’t lose it all by himself – not talented enough. But he does get a valuable assist from his accomplice – the other Clint.

The o/u on K’s by Barmes tonight is 2 1/2, and for Patrick, check out the range “up the middle” that you were so concerned about with Mercer

It should be eye-opening to you

  28. JRay3 says:

Good afternoon to the window, is today the day elusive win #82 happens? Sure would like to see signs of this team turning it around and it starts with pitching.

    Line 1 – 50 on the UNDER

    Line 2 – 75 on the UNDER

    Line 3 – 100 on the Loss

    Thanks and Go Bucs!

  29. Bob Hasis says:

If Patrick is the wrong person to reference above, I apologize in advance

BTW, I’m glad Barmes is in the line-up tonight, because Mercer doesn’t deserve to bat ninth on any team

  30. Bob Hasis says:

I like that humor; Clint forgets too many things to be a manager

  31. Nor Cal Stlrfanrtc (Ryan) says:

    Ridiculous…….

  32. Bill Born says:

Please may I have 100 on each Line.
    Line 1 over

    Line 2 over

    Line 3 Loss

The heat is a great excuse for another poor outing.

  33. Jason81 says:

    Line 1–100 on the OVER

    Line 2–100 on the OVER

    Staying away from line 3.

  34. Arriba Wilver says:

Barmes has started 2 games in the 4 game losing streak. And he’s not the f’ing DH, he’s the pitcher in the lineup.

  35. Pucknutz says:

    1 100 over
    2 100 over
    3 Loss

  36. Bob Hasis says:

Amazing how devious and secretive NH and CH have been regarding a mere “jammed finger” sustained by Marte a month ago. Try reading dislocation or fracture!

  37. Arriba Wilver says:

    Pirates—81

    Hurdle—-61

  38. NMR says:

    And the narrative takes hold…

  39. Bob Hasis says:

You were saving that for me all this time?

  40. Nor Cal Stlrfanrtc (Ryan) says:

    That’s all that’s needed.

  41. bizrow says:

line 1 100 on the undah

Line 2 100 on the undah

Line 3 100 on the win

Every time we think the club is gonna melt

    They come through

    Beat Em Bucs

No one said this would be easy

  42. He might do well at rover in a church league lineup. Still, I like the bat in the lineup.

Everyone in the lineup could pop one, even Barmes. (sorry Bob)

Darvish is what, 12-7. Don’t see how that translates to Cy Young, Ryan, unless his run support has been bad, like Burnett’s.

    Beat Em Bucs

No one said this would be easy

    Nor should it be

  44. Bob Hasis says:

    Do you feel good then?

  45. NMR says:

    Hahaha, this is awesome.

  46. Bob Hasis says:

Aw man you need to elaborate – I’m not that smart.

  47. Karen22 says:

    1. 50 – UNDER
    2. 75 – OVER
    3. 50 – WIN (gotta be right one of these times!)

  48. MadTurk says:

    Ditto

  49. NMR says:

Considering the plethora of updates about Marte not being able to swing a bat two handed, this would be the worst kept secret of deviant origins known to baseball.

  50. War Horse says:

    Line #1 – 100 on the UNDER

    Line #2 – 100 on the UNDER

    Line #3 – 100 on the WIN

    Thanks.

  51. Karen22 says:

Actually, I like Clint (Hurdle). I just don’t like him batting Barmes over Mercer. I thought Mercer was going to get the majority of AB’s down the stretch. That seems to have reversed itself.

  52. Bob Hasis says:

    . . . . .to read your mind

  53. Bob Hasis says:

But the truth has not been divulged yet – has it been?

  54. Man, this is a MUCH BIGGER SERIES against the Rangers than it should have been. Rough, rough weekend.

Starting pitching MUST come through this time through the rotation.

And Pedro needs to start recognizing curveballs out of the pitcher’s hand.

Pirates have had their break———after defense AND hitting AND starting pitching AND relievers all go walkabout at the same time in St. Louis, it’s time to buckle down against a tough pitcher in a foreign park and reassert themselves as the team to beat in the National League.

Inspired play from McCutch, a dinger with guys on from Pedro, and taking the gloves out to the field with them should be just the right medicine for what ails the 81-win Bucs.

Who said 82 does not matter?! And 94 would matter even more!!

  55. MadTurk says:

Barmes and or Mercer hits better then Pedro. Why is he not batting 9th.

  56. MadTurk says:

    average wise.

  57. radio wave says:

At playoffs: goal number one when game 82. Goal number to get back in the positive numbers on this contest. I will take 75 on the over for number one. I will take 50 on the over for number two. I will take 75 on a win.

  58. MadTurk says:

Who should bat higher in the order a .231 hitting or a .275 hitter?

  59. Arriba Wilver says:

“Site: Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texass”

    I hope DK is right.

  60. popsfan says:

i just wish someone would absolutely, 100%, guarantee me that it is a complete impossibility that we can go 2-for-september.

  61. bizrow says:

    Book it Danno

    Its not gonna happen ;-)

  62. bizrow says:

    Groat, I humbly disagree

This has been a big series for weeks

    They all are now

Lets see what happens, Sept 9th and there is still relevant baseball in the burgh

  63. I absolutely, 100% guarantee it, Wilver Fan——it is a complete impossibility.

I guarantee it! Dejan guarantees it! And he is never wrong about predictions!

  64. Bob Hasis says:

That little incompetent Presley had two more hits yesterday, out of 5 the Twins got, and he’s only batting .389. What the heck would the Pirates do with that kind of production?

We got slew-footed Morneau hitting .261. So far NH, you can cancel your trip to NY to receive your “Exec. of the Year Lapel Pin”

  65. MadTurk says:

    We’re doomed

  66. MadTurk says:

HE would sit ion the bench or be sent down for another 230 something hitter

  67. Arriba Wilver says:

At least they didn’t trade d’Arnaud for him.

  68. Lad9 says:

    Line 1 under
    Line 2 over
    Line 3 win

All for 100. Thank you Playoffs. Go Buccos!!

  69. Playoffs, my friend. Been a long time since I played, so here goes:

    Line #1 – UNDER for 100 ducketts
Line #2 – OVER for 100 beaver pelts
    Line #3 – WIN for 100 Scooby-Snacks

    Thank you very much!

  70. Bob Hasis says:

AS he has most of this year, and NOW he is showing people who he really is – not what NH and CH told us he was by continually sending him down.

I feel certain he will stick with the Twins and help immensely.

  71. Bob Hasis says:

No no no, we need d’Arnaud to come here and replace Barmes – and bat .221

  72. Arriba Wilver says:

Bob—I think you have a youth prejudice.

  73. cosmo says:

    line 1 – 100 over

    line 2 – 100 over

    line 3 – 100 loss

  74. Dom says:

    LINE 1: 50 OVER!!!
    LINE 2: PASS!!!
    LINE 3: 75 WIN!!!
    THANKS!!!

  75. Bob Hasis says:

You mean an “old guy prejudice”? I like youth in these situations way more than older senior over-the-hill types such as Barmie

  76. MadTurk says:

    I hope so!

  77. pattonbb says:

    Line 1 – 100 OVER
    Line 2 – 100 OVER
    Line 3 – 100 Loss

  78. kr70 says:

    1 100 on the under
    2 100 on the under
    3 100 on the over
    and thanks

  79. JD says:

    OshKosh – Loss??? – 82 to you.

    Go Bucs!

  80. JD says:

    Just F-ing with you buddy.

  81. JD says:

    Just F-ing with you buddy.

  82. pattonbb says:

Very cool. Get us a win, Joe.

  83. Jandy says:

Line 1 let’s do 100 on the under
Line 2.go with 100 on the under
Line 3.tough one. 100 on the win
    Go BUCS!

  84. kr70 says:

3 should be 100 o the win, sorry

  85. pattonbb says:

I’ve said it before, and everyone laughed, but when he’s “on”, Yu Darvish is the best pitcher in baseball.

  86. Brandie says:

    Have fun Bucco Joe.

  87. Irish says:

50 on Under for Line 1
50 on Under for Line 2
25 on Win for Line 3
    Thanks, Playoffs!
Time to Charge… Let’s Go Bucs!

  88. JohninOshkosh says:

Ha! I’m just trying to move up to get a shot at that Pens bumper sticker!

But, I hope the Bucs win!

  89. Bob Hasis says:

If you are watching Wash – Phila on MNF, I think we are seeing a new trend for no-huddle offense.

It is most interesting and IMO evolutionary

  90. The Gunner says:

    Line 1 – 100 on the over
    Line 2 – 100 on the over
    Line 3 – 100 on the win

This will be a tough game for the Bucs. But, we will be victorious and get this train back on track!!

  91. Brandie says:

    Mr. Hasis,

I think you have a prejudice against incompetence and inconsistency.

    IMHO

  92. The Gunner says:

    Bob

These Presley comments are gonna get JD all fired up!

  93. Bob Hasis says:

Well yes that should be obvious – don’t you?

Well maybe you don’t; after all you like Barmes Hurdle and Leyva

  94. Mike Shigley says:

Sarcastically, I think the AP jinxed the Pirates. They ran a story that 81 wins broke the streak — and ran it Saturday morning (the day after the first loss to the Cardinals).

On a more serious note, I just don’t like the trend lines. What is it — 11 wins out of the last 28? Nothing seems going right, except Cutch’s hitting.

And, we could say there is no help coming. We had three minor league teams in the playoffs and they all lost in the first round. For AAA Indianapolis had the best International League record and got swept. And, in short season A, Jamestown led its division almost until the end, when they faced the St. Louis affiliate (last year’s Pirate affiliate State College) and lost all but one of the 7 games they played — and then won the first playoff game and lost the last two (and the series) — the same way the Pirates lost to the Cardinals — no pitching and no hitting.

  95. Bob Hasis says:

    Good! Who’s JD?

  96. theplanisworking says:

    Playoffs………..

    May I have the following??

    Line 1 — 75 Heat-stroked Hippos on the OVER.
    Line 2 — 75 Hot-footed Hippos on the OVER.
Line 3 — 100 Hopeless Buc Hippos on the LOSS .

Thank You, and get a parachute!!!

  97. JAL says:

Both fangraphs pieces have been in the morning links over the past couple of weeks

  98. theplanisworking says:

Muppet, Bob calls them as he sees them.
Most of us cant see, so who is to determine right and wrong?

Just dont critcize Hurdle, or you will pay from the blog posse. ;)

  99. theplanisworking says:

    This is pretty sobering.

  100. bman says:

    @playoffs

Line 1: 50 on the OVER
Line 2: 100 on the UNDER

    Thanks!!

  101. Mrevo says:

All righty/lefty in the lineup, Clint is probably patting himself on the back for how clever he is.

  102. pattonbb says:

It didn’t work in college. I don’t think it will work in the pros. .

But it is interesting to watch.

  103. popsfan says:

Why don’t i feel any better?

  104. Pucknutz says:

    “the blog posse”

“Festus, get me 10 guys ready to ride in a hour”
    “Well, Matthew……….”

  105. JD says:

    100 on under line 1&2.
    100 on win.

    Go Bucs!

  106. Eric Bowser says:

If you swing at balls out of zone, Yu suck.

    Tabata…. SMH

  107. theplanisworking says:

Puck………. I dont think we could get 10 guys to ride here……. ;)

  108. Ghost says:

If nobody has already, I’m going to give this Rangers kid the nickname “The Twirling Darvish.”

  109. Eric Bowser says:

consequence of putting Pedro 6th… won’t see fastballs with no one on base.

  110. Jandy says:

So, how old is this Darvish dude? he can pitch.

  111. Steelag70 says:

Not going to be pretty tonight vs Darvish….3 K’s already…

  112. theplanisworking says:

Nadal destroying Djokavic in the US Open.

  113. Steelag70 says:

    Jandy…I believe he is 26 or 27….was a superstar in Japan…

  114. WVStarship says:

In all of my 50+ years in watching baseball I can’t recall seeing anyone who takes more called third strikes than Russell Martin.

  115. Jandy says:

Looks like he’s a star here as well

  116. Brandie says:

    Mr. Hasis,

I do as well. I just want the Buccos to play like they have been there before and to not play scared. Once you establish the ability to win and win consistently, everything including expectations and outlook must change, from players to management. No fancy words or prejudices here, just the plain unvarnished truth.

  117. florida steeler says:

Ben wishes he had that Eagles offensive line. And, they are not #1 and 2 draft choices like our brain trust has chosen.
Why can other teams find offensive linemen and the Steelers remain bad year after year???

  118. Jandy says:

is that posse or p*ssy? ;)

  119. Eric Bowser says:

    and he’s a catcher…

  120. florida steeler says:

Always looks to get a walk.

  121. The Gunner says:

JD got on my case big time over some supportive comments I made about Presley after the trade. I am in your camp about Presley & wish him well.

But, the priority is obvious; the Bucs have got to go on a nice winning streak……….starting tonight!

  122. Steelag70 says:

He can be dominant but has struggled of late…he is a K machine though…

  123. Brandie says:

    By the way, Mr. Hasis,

I never said I liked Hurdle, Barnes, and Leyva. This isn’t high school and not a popularity contest. I will pull for those who are willing to put their a$$es out their, get snotty, dirty, and hustle in order to get the job done.

  124. Neil Walker is a very close second.

  125. theplanisworking says:

    Jandy,

    EYE dont need spellcheck !!!!

  126. Steelag70 says:

Cole is on so far tonight…using his offspeed stuff effectively…,

  127. Ghost says:

His parents met in America. He’s half Japanese, half Iranian.

  128. Brandie says:

Are those balls going to magically somehow become hittable as Pedro continues to whiff? Don’t think so. Totally with you there, Eric the Red!

  129. Pucknutz says:

Well, Hip, you are ambidextrous or amphibious I can’t remember which. Question is can you carry like maybe nine guys, right or lefty, sink or swim?? LOL

  130. Jandy says:

    let’s hope he struggles tonight

  131. Steelag70 says:

He became an instant hit with the younger fans when he reported to the Rangers…he was wearing a t-shirt that had a cannabis leaf on the front…

  132. Brandie says:

That’s why we take nothing for granted, right Planana Split?

  133. Jandy says:

let’s hope that continues as well :)

  134. Milo Hamilton says:

Washington leads the Mets 9-0 in the 5th inning.

  135. Steelag70 says:

Darvish is killing this lineup with the offspeed stuff…

  136. Brandie says:

    Dear Hippo,

Who is this “blog posse” that you mention. Please elucidate.

  137. Steelag70 says:

I think the fact he is facing Darvish helps too…he seems to raise his game when facing a top shelf opposing starter…

  138. theplanisworking says:

    I am ambidextriously amphibian!

    :D

  139. Milo Hamilton says:

Am I right that no one has ever scored a run off this guy ?

  140. Pucknutz says:

A switch hitter – way cool!!!
(in the baseball sense of course) lol

  141. theplanisworking says:

    Planana Split.

    You are a gem. :D

  142. Lad 9 says:

Well answered Brandie. Anyone who follows this blog should know that you are as straight a shooter as there is here, and that if a player or coach needs called out you do it. You also serve as the resident ray of sunshine here. 63 inches of a dynamite indeed! :)

  143. Steelag70 says:

Cole is REALLY on tonight….using the offspeed stuff beautifully…

  144. theplanisworking says:

You know who the posse is…………
the posters who do not allow any criticism of Hurdle at any time.
The ones who say (sarcastically) that Hurdle is only responsible for losses, never wins, to stifle discussion of mistakes made.

    That posse.

  145. theplanisworking says:

You know who the posse is…………
the posters who do not allow any criticism of Hurdle at any time.
The ones who say (sarcastically) that Hurdle is only responsible for losses, never wins, to stifle discussion of mistakes made.

    That posse.

  146. Bob Hasis says:

Brandie, on both of your entries intended for me, I am in complete agreement.

I just got involved in a little word game with AW, which simply changed direction. I am aware of your sentiments regarding the three gentlemen I mentioned; when they start winning and are serious about it, I could take a different view.

None of the three have shown me any consistency that they know what they are doing!

  147. Jandy says:

Really? Then let the Bucs be the first!

  148. Steelag70 says:

    Who Milo? Darvish??

  149. Jandy says:

    And 2 beautiful k’s for Cole :)

  150. 21sthebest says:

    Good question.

  151. Brandie says:

    You’re Killing me Ghost!

  152. Jandy says:

    Nice inning :)

  153. theplanisworking says:

    63 inches of sunshine.

  154. Lad 9 says:

+45 It is good to see. This is the Cole we expected

  155. Milo Hamilton says:

    Sarcasm Alert !

  156. theplanisworking says:

    Thank You. ;)

  157. Brandie says:

Please give Mr. Hasis some dang consistency. It’s way past time. :-)

  158. Milo Hamilton says:

Bob, did you get the Hollidaysburg assignment ?

  159. Lad 9 says:

Sarcasm is an often misunderstood art in print…. :)

  160. Jandy says:

    lol ya nut :*

  161. Brandie says:

    Thank you for the vibes!

    LAAAAAAADDDDD NIIIIIIIIINE!

    Could not resist.

  162. Jandy says:

    What’s this about Hollidaysburg?

  163. Steelag70 says:

Ranger radio team wondering why Darvish is not using his fastball tonight…haha.

  164. KenKopp says:

OK, just jumpin in to this here fun blog. Don’t have time to read all the above stuff, so I’m starting from scratch and will be in and out for the next hour.

Been thinking of this all day after the worst possible sports weekend. Pirates swept, Steelers yuck, Gators give the game away (Sorry, I’m an alum). Penn State won. Only salivation from the weekend.

Anyways, we are in a pennant race. No epic collapse III. Ain’t gonna happen. If you ain”t in your 50′s you probably can”t remember how tense a pennant race can be. It will wear you out. But it is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Enjoy it, don’t over analize it. Just root like hell. Most of all enjoy it.

  165. Jandy says:

haha I figgered that…bit I was still plugging for our boys

  166. Brandie says:

Oh. Is Ricochet Rabbit part of that Posse? How about Quick Draw McGraw or Drip Along Daffy?

  167. Bob Hasis says:

No the school is providing luxury liners, but I’m still going. I got my map from AAA.
It takes 2hrs. and 10 mins.

  168. Bob, are you not driving school bus this year?

Seems like you’re staying up later than last school year.

Or is it just the intensity of the “pennant race”?

  169. Milo Hamilton says:

Thomas Jefferson is playing out there this week. I was asking if Bob will have bus duty that night.

  170. Brandie says:

    Yes sir Double K.

  171. Steelag70 says:

This offense is hopeless…10 in a row retired by Darvish…

  172. Brandie says:

    Here, on this blog?

  173. I’m not in my 50′s anymore, Ken, and I agree with your assessment. Nothing better in baseball than battling for a playoff spot.

Wouldn’t be as much fun with a 10-game lead, would it?

    Then again………….

  174. theplanisworking says:

You forgot Slow Poke Rodriguez !! ;)

  175. Milo Hamilton says:

Truly God’s country. It’s so beautiful. Can’t figure out their team though. Highlands stomped them. Then they crushed Greensburg Salem who beat Knoch.

  176. Brandie says:

    Revvie, you scamp!

  177. Milo Hamilton says:

They had one of those a week or so ago.

  178. KenKopp says:

Pitchers duel. Garret is holding his own. Mistake pitches are going to be the key. OR a swing by Pedro.

  179. Bob Hasis says:

Oh yes, still driving the bus with as much passion as I display here – on certain subjects.

    Thank you for asking

Lucky I’m something of an insomniac. Go to bed at 12, awaken at 4:30, fresh and ready to go.

  180. Lad 9 says:

BBBBBBRANDIEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Good to have the Crüe out tonight from Phillipsburg, to Altoona, to Hippo’s Pond to Bethel Park. Tonight, we get 82!! Good vibes from Central to Western PA.

  181. theplanisworking says:

    NEVER !!!!!!!!!

  182. Bob Hasis says:

That is a strange grouping of results

  183. theplanisworking says:

Man, Lad, I didnt know my pond was that big………… ;)

  184. Steelag70 says:

    Nice play Pedro…

  185. Jandy says:

    ahhh I see :)

  186. Brandie says:

Or a cut block by David DeCastro…

    Whoops! Sorry about that.

  187. theplanisworking says:

    :D

  188. Tom P. says:

The Pirates have scored in 4 of the last 31 innings. In each of the innings in which they scored, they began the inning trailing by at least 5 runs.

  189. Steelag70 says:

Nice throw from the Byrd man!!!!!!!!!!!!

  190. Jandy says:

Mr. Hasis, in read somewhere on line that the best sleep is acquired between the hours of 10pm and 4am

  191. God bless you for that. I only get about 5 hours myself. All I’ve ever needed.

But desk jobs don’t wear you down physically, just mentally and emotionally.

    Never spiritually.

  192. Brandie says:

With a special shout out to S’Liberty. I spent 14 years of my life there.

  193. Karen22 says:

Cole looks terrific tonight. Unfortunately, so does Yu. GET A RUN!!

  194. JohninOshkosh says:

    Hahahahah-

My wife and I were wondering the other day if anyone still got maps from AAA. Triptiks, right ?

I’m a huge fan, Mr. Hasis!

  195. Bob Hasis says:

. . . .said Ed Wynn in “The Ten Commandments”

  196. Steelag70 says:

    No, YU do…

  197. JohninOshkosh says:

Judging from that last play, sounds like a lot of Bucco fans in the house.

  198. Brandie says:

His power is derived from sunlight. Should be a good series as he is closer to the equator there in Texas. There’s your silver lining.

  199. Milo Hamilton says:

FYI, kickoff is 7:00. Leave early.

  200. Bob Hasis says:

or was that “Jesus of Nazareth”

  201. Parrothead01 says:

Yeah, they have become one of the worst hitting teams in baseball again. The way they are playing, Washington will catch them next week.and that is really depressing.

  202. Jandy says:

    Brandecita!!!

  203. KenKopp says:

Oouch! That was not pretty bad (the cut block) in so many ways. That’s why we may want to stay on this Bucco thing, cause the Steeler thing doesn’t look very good.

  204. Brandie says:

Don’t lie or the nun will cuss you out!

  205. Steelag70 says:

Lots of transplants down here in the DFW area…

  206. Jandy says:

sheesh, so Petey hits into a DP :(

  207. theplanisworking says:

    Juan Hippolito !! ;)

  208. Brandie says:

That’s not a nice thing to call Pedro!

  209. Jandy says:

The Crue is all here :)

  210. The Gunner says:

    Jandy

    Pedro is killing us!

  211. Drew71 says:

    I miss Pedro already.

(Just practicing for the offseason. Won’t be long now!)

  212. Jandy says:

    Rad Lad in DaHouse :)

  213. theplanisworking says:

    :D

  214. Bob Hasis says:

Thank you for that. I was aware 7 was the start. I’ll pull my bus into the yard at around 4pm jump in my car and go.

Then take the girls VB team to a tourney at 7:30 am Saturday.

    Believe me I love it.

  215. Jandy says:

    Tell me about it Revvie. I work 9 – 9 1/2 hours most days…

  216. theplanisworking says:

    I am more afraid of the 9 Wides……. ;)

  217. Bob Hasis says:

Of mine or Triptiks – or both?

  218. theplanisworking says:

    Hi Shelby!

  219. Mrevo says:

    Good scouting report.

  220. Arriba Wilver says:

Just to be clear, I meant a prejudice in favor of youth, not the other way around.

  221. Brandie says:

Pay close attention to the header at the top of the page. Where it says Site, check the spelling of Texas. Well played, DK! Well played!

  222. Steelag70 says:

I don’t feel good results from this game…Cole is matching Darvish, butttt…

  223. Jandy says:

Amazing Grace…I was blind, but now I see ;)

  224. Milo Hamilton says:

I’ve come to the conclusion that they’ll lose the day they clinch a playoff spot so they can continue to take all the fun out of this.

  225. Steelag70 says:

He should REALLY break out for the Weds game then…haha..

  226. JD says:

Hey Gunner, I like Presley. He even tossed my kid a ball when we saw Indy play at Toledo. Not sure why I would have gotten on your case over AP.

  227. Drew71 says:

Too bad there were two outs. Or Jones woulda earned a DP, too.

  228. Bob Hasis says:

So that’s why I feel so great. There were a couple other possibilities

  229. Jandy says:

    sometimes I just wanna….;X

  230. Lad 9 says:

No such problem figuring out TJ’s team. They steamroll almost everyone. Fabulous coach. If he stays with it will be mentioned eventually with the Antimirinos, Lauros, Renders and McCurrys. He is there now except for service time.

  231. theplanisworking says:

    +1

  232. Bob Hasis says:

John my kids all badger me to get a GPS but honestly being from the “old school” I am still able to survive and manage

  233. Arriba Wilver says:

    +1

  234. Steelag70 says:

Cole seems to be getting stronger as this season has progressed…

  235. Chuck H says:

If I were managing the Pirates, there wouldn’t be a place in my lineup for Sir Whiffs-a-lotte. I would have bet my house that he would either strike out or hit into DP. Why do they keep that worthless hunk of s— on the team? What has happened to this team? Don’t
they want to win any more games? I’m done with that bunch of losers.

  236. Drew71 says:

This team’s offensive plan hasn’t been good enough for a year and change now.

  237. Lad 9 says:

    Shelby was topless….

  238. Jandy says:

LOL Brandecita, I just saw that….Texa**

  239. Brandie says:

Rarin’ Karen. The Temptress, our very own Blog Siren is in da house. Men, hold onto your senses!

  240. JohninOshkosh says:

    Sample SAT analogy question:

    Pedro : Pirates :: ____ : Penguins

  241. Reading says:

Cole is the Ace of the Day to pitch the one-game WC.

  242. Jandy says:

    Another K for Gerrit

  243. Lad 9 says:

    Awesome!

  244. theplanisworking says:

Laddy, this is a PG-13 blog, thank you.

Blush is down the street ——————– >

  245. Steelag70 says:

This may be Cole’s best outing of the year…

  246. Brandie says:

He deserves a bold reaming without moderation!!!!!!!

  247. Milo Hamilton says:

Off the subject, but I love watching Shady McCoy run.

  248. Jandy says:

Initially I would have said Tyler kennedy, but he as traded lol

  249. Arriba Wilver says:

You’re about 3 hours behind me, Brandie.

  250. Drew71 says:

I see Chuck found my wife’s anniversary card.

  251. Eric Bowser says:

Cole wanted to be the one involved in the team’s winning turnaround…. he’s making a statement tonight.

  252. florida steeler says:

33-7 Eagles, seems their coaches know how to pick offensive linemen. Ben is drooling if he is watching!!
Ran 53 plays in the first half.

  253. Jandy says:

and another to retire the side :)

  254. Arriba Wilver says:

    The Pirates or Steelers?

    :-P

  255. JohninOshkosh says:

Keep up the good fight. I’m not a fan of GPS, either. Something inherently non-male about them. :)

  256. JohninOshkosh says:

    Both.

  257. Reading says:

In fact, Cole is the only one who looks like he cares. Everybody else: strikeout looking, waltz back to the dugout; weak roller DP, “hustle” to first at about 75%, etc. No life. No shirt. No shoes. No Dice. Fast Times ref.

  258. Lad 9 says:

I’ll go James Neal. Feast or famine. Though Neal is a lot more polished at his sport of choice.

  259. Milo Hamilton says:

    Letang.

  260. Jandy says:

    so far so good

  261. Parrothead01 says:

The Pirates again prove to be the perfect cure for a struggling pitcher.

  262. theplanisworking says:

    Fleury.

  263. Brandie says:

Isn’t that what French Astronauts drink?

  264. Lad 9 says:

Same here Milo. One of my favorites. So wanted him to be a Steeler…

  265. Steelag70 says:

    Horrible…

  266. JohninOshkosh says:

That is hilarious. Well done, Drew.

  267. theplanisworking says:

Another nice piece of Pirate baserunning by Tabata.

  268. theplanisworking says:

    +1

    Only if he is orange.

  269. Steelag70 says:

Wow….hey Neil…you can take the bat off of your shoulder…

  270. Jandy says:

    why even send him???? sheesh

  271. Jason81 says:

    Kris Letang

  272. Steelag70 says:

Just think…tomorrow night we face Perez, and Weds we face Garza…

  273. Reading says:

Textbook, I say, Textbook hit and run. Baserunner erased.

  274. Brandie says:

Pardon me, Heigh Ho Wilver. I will try to be more original 3 hours from yesterday.

  275. Eric Bowser says:

    MY FREAKING GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tabata runs about as quick as Dejan in the cold Winnipeg night and with McCutchen on-deck, that’s just simply stupid.

  276. 21sthebest says:

    Yes

  277. Milo Hamilton says:

This is a very impressive performance by Cole tonight under the circumstances. Pretty much knowing if he gives up 1 run, he loses.

  278. Lad 9 says:

I saw pictures! And what a set of wheels, too.

  279. Reading says:

The Pirates may never score again. Eagles will run 5,250 offensive plays before the Pirates plate a baserunner again.

  280. pattonbb says:

What a crazy night in sports. Nadal beats Djokovic. Buck Showalter charged the entire Yankee dugout. Miguel Cabrera gets ejected during his first at bat of the game for saying something to homeplate ump Brian Gorman, which in turn leads to Leyland getting tossed. Professional Wrestling, er I mean NASCAR, has kicked a driver out of their “chase” thingy, added another driver, and fined a race owner almost a half of a million dollars for one of their drivers intentionally wrecking to bring out a caution flag. Robert Griffin cubed looks horrible. Robert Griffin cubed’s defense looks even worse. Gerrit Cole is pitching like Yu Darvish, and Pedro still couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat.

  281. Jandy says:

    Shelby is awesome topless!!!

  282. Reading says:

    Exactly right!!

  283. Drew71 says:

I’m trying to come up with a line that combines the Pirate’s hitting and colonoscopies.

Could be worse, though. At least they haven’t fallen behind.

  284. JohninOshkosh says:

    +

  285. Jandy says:

so, is that sinkers Cole is throwing>???

  286. Eric Bowser says:

    What an awesome post!

  287. Milo Hamilton says:

Hey mister. You be nice to NASCAR fans so you don’t chase off any new posters. :)

  288. 21sthebest says:

It was supposed to be a hit and run.

  289. Milo Hamilton says:

    Headline: Rangers Subjected To Cole-onoscopy.

  290. Jandy says:

    indeed!

  291. Jandy says:

    ZING!!!

  292. Ghost says:

Yes, was just thinking that our starting pitchers are playing hot potato with that distinction.

  293. Arriba Wilver says:

    + a million

  294. Brandie says:

Lack of speed kills…rallies. Cue “Chariots of Fire”.

  295. radio wave says:

I would be more upset if it was a lesser pitcher stopping the hitless wonders.

  296. Brandie says:

    You mean hit and walk.

  297. JohninOshkosh says:

I thought this might draw out the “Man in Bold” from his lair.

He’s been curiously absent. Maybe he’s finally on Olbermann tonight.

    DK: Off today and tomorrow.

  298. Jandy says:

    uh oh..there’s a walk…

  299. Ghost says:

While Pirates are tormented by Twirling Darvish.

  300. DJ says:

I have tickets for next Tuesday and was thinking there may be a reasonably good chance of it being for Win No. 82 the way things are going.

On the Eagles pounding the Redskins, not a fan of any Philly teams, but with all the lead-up to RG III’s appearance this season (ESPN, NFL Network and otherwise), I cannot say I am disappointed by the score. And it may more a Shanahan reaction than RG III, who I think is very talented.

  301. Arriba Wilver says:

    It’s baseball.

  302. Steelag70 says:

Cole is throwing all of his pitches tonight….

  303. Steelag70 says:

Darvish has never had a complete game…even as good as he is…

  304. Steelag70 says:

    Time to visit the mound….

  305. Reading says:

Also, instead of having Fu-man-chu mustache growing contests, how about firing up the pitching machine and working on hitting the ball.

  306. 21sthebest says:

That’s baseball, it’s baseball, whatever it takes.

  307. pattonbb says:

Good point. Glad I deleted my line about Dale Earnhardt Jr. being the most overrated driver in motorsports, or wrestling, or whatever they call themselves.

  308. Ghost says:

Oh-oh. The Cole Train has come off the tracks a little…

  309. Brandie says:

You really don’t want floaters in this case.

  310. Jandy says:

I meant the ones they’re swinging at in the dirt.

  311. Steelag70 says:

Nobody up in the Buccos BP….double steal now…

  312. Arriba Wilver says:

No worries, just pointing it out. Calm down, no offense intended. Just trying to burnish my own cred.

  313. Jandy says:

    Amen…closed out the inning

  314. theplanisworking says:

More like strut and out. :(

  315. pattonbb says:

Thanks Eric. I’m good for one of those about every 4 or 5 months.

  316. Steelag70 says:

Nice job Gerrit!!! Way to pitch out of that jam…I do believe young Mr. Cole is finally starting to really show his potential tonight…

  317. Lad 9 says:

Pedro did a lousy job on that steal.

  318. theplanisworking says:

    HE LIVES !!!

Some would say we are all “off” everyday.

  319. Ghost says:

I’m guessing Cole gets one more inning. He’ll be on a soft pitch count until the post-season.

  320. KenKopp says:

Wheeh! That was pennant race stuff there. Cincy losing. Top of the ninth. Go Cubbies. Go Cutch.

  321. Ghost says:

    “Finally?”
He’s thrown many a gem already, this year.

  322. Brandie says:

I was just pierced by that sharp wit. Well played, Drew-k! Well played.

  323. theplanisworking says:

Where is the soccer post?? ;)

  324. Steelag70 says:

I meant by using all of his pitches and using them in 2 strike situations to get K’s…

  325. Brandie says:

And the voice of blog god speaketh from Mt. Worshingdon!

  326. Mostly no run support for the kid all season long. Tonight is just maddening that they can not do anything.

  327. Arriba Wilver says:

    +1

  328. Steelag70 says:

    Byrd man!!

  329. Jandy says:

    Byrd man!

  330. Ghost says:

    Gotcha.

  331. Steelag70 says:

This is about when Darvish has petered out in his last few starts…

  332. Brandie says:

The French version of the Kool-Aid Man.

  333. Ghost says:

What do you get when you cross a bird with a tuna?

  334. Milo Hamilton says:

Greg Brown says Juan D. will soon be throwing a simulated game. That’s funny, his teammates have been playing simulated games for the last month.

  335. theplanisworking says:

    +1

  336. theplanisworking says:

    Good Point.

  337. Brandie says:

    Just bustin’ your chops! :-)

  338. Steelag70 says:

    Petey!!!!!!!

  339. theplanisworking says:

    Chicken of the Sea.

  340. Brandie says:

Only, it’s powdered wine. No wonder the French are so loopy.

  341. Steelag70 says:

    To left center even!!

  342. BOUT time PEDRO!!!!!! 1-0 Buccos!

  343. Ghost says:

    Ask and Ye shall receive!!!!

  344. Steelag70 says:

    Way to beat the shift!!

  345. theplanisworking says:

    OMG!!!!
    THE WORLD IS ENDING!!!!
PEDRO GOT A HIT!! AND, AN RBI!!!

Gotta get packing………. world ending soon. ;)

    1-0 good guys.

  346. Bob Hasis says:

See what can happen when you go with the pitch – and don’t roll the left wrist over

  347. JohninOshkosh says:

“worthless hunk of ____” with the ribeye!

  348. Ghost says:

    A GREAT sign!
Keep it up Petey, and good things will happen!

  349. The Gunner says:

Yes he did. But, Petey made up for it with that RBI single

  350. Jandy says:

    wow…did i just see that?????
    petey????

  351. Milo Hamilton says:

    OK kid, there’s your run.

  352. Steelag70 says:

    Ok Gerrit…keep it going…

  353. Brandie says:

    Who writes your material? Fabulous!

  354. Don’t forget your swim trunks.

  355. Ghost says:

I was admittedly stretching. A marlin is not a tuna.
    But thanks for the shout.

  356. Steelag70 says:

Maybe you should insult him again…lol.

  357. radio wave says:

Going to bottom of ninth, cubbies 2-0 over Reds.

  358. Brandie says:

    So it on, Mr. Hasis!

  359. Ghost says:

Yep. He’s showed signs of trying since the California swing. But not enough. Easier said than done, of course. But maybe he’ll be cured of
    pull-itis, yet.

  360. Brandie says:

    Should be spot on!

  361. Brandie says:

    Go Cubs! Wow. That hurt!

  362. Steelag70 says:

First run given up by Darvish in his last 19 2/3 innings in Interleague play…

  363. Thundercrack says:

    Milo
That post is beautiful. But it won’t help your percentage.

    :-)

  364. Mrevo says:

If that helped, he’d being hitting .400 by now.

  365. theplanisworking says:

    I had a Jessica Simpson moment……….. ;)

  366. Steelag70 says:

Rangers starting to swing and miss now frequently…

  367. theplanisworking says:

    I dont need them……….. ;)

  368. Arriba Wilver says:

    Behind?

  369. Steelag70 says:

    Nice pitch Gerrit!!

  370. Jandy says:

    Oh yes…and looking!

  371. Jandy says:

    Nice inning…retires the side…

  372. Arriba Wilver says:

    +1

  373. The Gunner says:

    Ha ha Eric

Your comments about Tabata sound like me last year. I am not a fan of #31, but you gotta admit he sure has done a good job filling in for Marte.

  374. DJ says:

Well I think his California swing would be about to left center if I recall the park positioning correctly.

  375. Steelag70 says:

Definitely his best start of the year…

  376. Brandie says:

    Don’t forget clean underwear!

  377. Steelag70 says:

Moreland looked like Walker on that last pitch…

  378. theplanisworking says:

I did not see this coming from Cole at all. Pleasantly surprised.

Now we see Tanner Scheppers. Beat him up.

  379. Arriba Wilver says:

    Received. ;-)

  380. Steelag70 says:

Time to tack on some runs!!

  381. DJ says:

Check that, left center is southeast.

  382. Ghost says:

You had Jessica Simpson for a moment??
You DOG, you! You Hippo-ey DOG!!

  383. Tanner’s in the game for Texass! Let’s light him up and show him who he should have signed with.

  384. radio wave says:

it’s a final. Cubs beat the Reds 2-0.

  385. theplanisworking says:

    Hahahahaha !!

  386. JohninOshkosh says:

    Look its Greg Maddux’ brother!

(I’m predicting he has been referred as that since elementary school)

  387. Irish says:

    CubsWin! CubsWin!
    Let’s Go Bucs!

  388. theplanisworking says:

    GOOD !!!!

  389. theplanisworking says:

    GOOD !!!!

  390. Ghost says:

Anyway, he’s hopefully got his compass set right from now.

  391. Steelag70 says:

Scheppers got beat up in a bar fight earlier this season in Cleveland…

  392. Lad 9 says:

    Had not heard that…

  393. Brandie says:

GERRIT COLE BRINGING DA HEAT!!!!!! OW!!!!!

    GIVE ME FUEL!

    GIVE ME FIRE!

GIVE ME SIX MORE TO RETIRE!

  394. Jandy says:

    woah BARMES with a hit

  395. JohninOshkosh says:

Sounds like a good beginning for a novel, Steelag.

  396. Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Game up on Reds now.

  397. Ghost says:

Actually, this one’s the older brother. The dad told scouts who came to watch him pitch in high school that they’d be back for the baby brother.

  398. Steelag70 says:

Yep…he tried to say that he was mugged on his way back from the bar, but his teammates wouldn’t cover his story…

  399. Sorry, 0.5 game so far. Hoping the other half comes soon.

  400. Steelag70 says:

    Holeeeey Cow!!

  401. Brandie says:

Guess it’s GOOD GOOD, huh Planberry Juice?

  402. Ghost says:

Any word why Darvish was pulled with only 81 pitches?

  403. JohninOshkosh says:

I defer to your superior Vegas sports knowledge, Ghost.

  404. Arriba Wilver says:

    Impossible!

  405. Brandie says:

Poor cow must be wearing Ghost’s costume.

  406. Steelag70 says:

Uggghhhh…Tabata back to his old ways…

  407. Ghost says:

Bad Tabby! Bad!!! No Tabby snacks for you.

  408. Brandie says:

    Because he sucks!

  409. DJ says:

Agreed. It is a beautiful thing to see frozen ropes to the gap the opposite way.

  410. Steelag70 says:

Nothing mentioned by the Rangers broadcast crew…

  411. theplanisworking says:

    Who writes your material??? ;)

  412. KenKopp says:

    How much fun is this?

  413. Ghost says:

Brandie, you have the mental agility that Mohammed Ali had in his feet.

  414. Steelag70 says:

Dear Lord….PLEASE allow Marte to come back healthy very soon…like tomorrow?? :)

  415. theplanisworking says:

Dont think he has as many lives, though…….

  416. Steelag70 says:

    Ok Tony…keep it going….

  417. Brandie says:

I always knew you had game, Plan!

  418. Ghost says:

I wouldn’t defer to me for much of anything. I DO know how to aerate a mean pond, though…

  419. Steelag70 says:

    33,243 in attendance tonight….

  420. theplanisworking says:

    You are a nut!

  421. Eric Bowser says:

He’s been adequate but they really miss Marte.

  422. Ghost says:

    Doesn’t need them, either…

  423. JD says:

Nice Metallica reference. Lets Go Bucs!

  424. Steelag70 says:

Ranger broadcast crew could not believe that Cole was not averaging many strikeouts this season…

  425. Jandy says:

2 down, one more for this inning…

  426. Steelag70 says:

Uh-oh…Morris warming up in the bullpen…

  427. Jandy says:

    so is Melancon

  428. Lad 9 says:

“It was a dark and stormy night in Cleveland. The fire from the river glowed in the eastern sky as I left the bar chuckling after watching the Browns lose again. Then, from behind me a noise! I turned and…” You will have to buy the book for the rest. :)

  429. Steelag70 says:

    Ok…almost had a cardiac…

  430. Ghost says:

    Thanks.

  431. DJ says:

Greg Maddux threw the ball with the most movement in relationship to its speed (high 80s to low 90s) that I have ever seen . . . bar none.

It was a pleasure to watch him pitch except when it was against us.

  432. Jandy says:

    Elementary, my dear Watson :)

  433. Steelag70 says:

    Ok Buccos…let’s get some insurance!!

  434. Brandie says:

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!

  435. Steelag70 says:

    Brilliant!!

  436. 21sthebest says:

    Luck.

  437. KenKopp says:

    Job well done Tony!

  438. JohninOshkosh says:

Yep. Probably, my favorite pitcher of all time.

  439. Jandy says:

    LOL breathe honey :)

  440. Brandie says:

Glad Yinzer Danish is gone. C’mon guys, let’s finish the job.

  441. Jandy says:

    Yes, he was :)

  442. KenKopp says:

    That was cool Jandy

  443. Steelag70 says:

Cole first Pirate rookie to K 9 and not allow a run since Jose DeLeon in ’83…

  444. Jandy says:

what the ^&%$ is Walker doing??

  445. Steelag70 says:

Darvish left due to cramping in his right leg…

  446. Jandy says:

    woop wooop!

  447. DJ says:

    River or lake, Lad?

Was Bubby in that Cleveland bar?

  448. Steelag70 says:

    Trip, trip, Triiiple!!!!

  449. Jandy says:

cutch with a trip, trip, triple !!!

  450. Lad 9 says:

My favorite sight in sports. A Cutch triple. Get him in!

  451. Got to LOVE Cutch’s speed. Great triple now get him in!

  452. Jason81 says:

He’ll be here all week, folks!

  453. Brandie says:

    Dang right! Thanks JD!

  454. theplanisworking says:

    CUTCH !!!!!!!

  455. Steelag70 says:

    Come on Morneau….

  456. Steelag70 says:

    $#@!

  457. Jandy says:

    Oh &%#@

  458. theplanisworking says:

You are 2 days too early !!! ;)

  459. Steelag70 says:

Why don’t guys try to bowl over the catchers anymore???

  460. pattonbb says:

    That wasn’t Nick Leyva’s fault.

    Just saying…..

  461. Milo Hamilton says:

Mine used to be the back of Willie Parker’s jersey.

  462. As usual, we can’t make anything easy on ourselves. A second run makes a solo shot worthless. Need a Byrdie to come through some how here.

  463. Jason81 says:

Those were sliders they were swinging over top of, according to Gamecast. He did mix in some changeups that were down, but they weren’t as far down/out of the strike zone as the sliders.

  464. Steelag70 says:

    Ok Marte…just don’t slide head first…

  465. Jandy says:

    mumble^%$#, mumble&&^%, mumbleOUYR

  466. theplanisworking says:

Think these baserunning errors will hurt them in October?

  467. Ghost says:

    Again, thanks.

  468. Brandie says:

Must make an awesome cheap date…taking your date to watch the river burn. Ah…the glow of the river mixed with the fire in the belly brought about by imbibing paper bag wine…

    Good times!

  469. Arriba Wilver says:

I don’t know if he had anything to do with it, but there isn’t a 3rd base coach in the biz who doesn’t send Cutch in that situation with a 1 run lead late.

    JMO

  470. Steelag70 says:

    HUGE missed opportunity…

  471. JohninOshkosh says:

I just told my 12 year old to come in and watch the ninth. I told hem that he could be 32 years old the next time this happens. I told him that I speak from experience.

  472. DJ says:

Seaver, Maddux and, only from what I’ve read, Koufax and Carl Hubbell.

  473. Jandy says:

even with just one out, AW??

  474. Steelag70 says:

    Mini-Van time!!

  475. Steelag70 says:

    +++

  476. Jandy says:

    Excellent!

  477. Lad 9 says:

    Shark time! Shut them down.

  478. Arriba Wilver says:

    Yep. It’s Cutch.

  479. Jandy says:

    Great White Shark!!

  480. Lad 9 says:

    Good point. Wow.

  481. Brandie says:

Only if it’s the square Dodge one with the cheap wood paneling!

  482. Jandy says:

    ehhhh….

  483. pattonbb says:

Absolutely. Kinsler just made a great play. Sometimes, nobody is at fault. Sometimes, people just make good plays., and sometimes it rains.

    Or something like that.

  484. Bob Hasis says:

I’m just curious why we (I mean you know who) let our newly acquired RBI machine bat against a lefty? Just curious about that decision, that’s all.

  485. radio wave says:

What go what a strange phenomenon. You wait for over 20 years before there was interleague play, and you are three outs away from winning number 82 in an American week part.

  486. DJ says:

The boxed wine in the paper bag, Brandie.

  487. Steelag70 says:

    Two more!!

  488. Arriba Wilver says:

Not to jinx them, but to pull this out would be huge.

  489. JohninOshkosh says:

Don’t let Rios get a hold of one…

  490. Steelag70 says:

    Morneau was 5-11 w/ 2 Hr’s vs. Cotts…

  534. tdb1977 says:

ITS OVER!! Way to go Bucs! Now, lets get into the playoffs and make some noise there. A great pitching performance by Cole. A 3 hit shutout. The pitcher of our future ends 20 years of horrid baseball.

GET UP AND DANCE MY ACROSS THE POND FRIEND!

  538. Arriba Wilver says:

    Was he chewing gum?

  539. Barb says:

Raise the Jolly Roger!!!!! We finally reached that mystical and magical 82. 83 looks even better.

Our long national nightmare is over.

  542. Brandie says:

    Raise the Jolly Roger!

  544. Jandy says:

Another glass of wine is in order for me :)

  545. theplanisworking says:

Now, can we end the other streak? 34 years?
    Please?

  546. Milo Hamilton says:

Or hitting an errant drive ?

  547. Brandie says:

    Hopefully so us complicated losing.

  548. Baywatch says:

Down here in Texas, we actually watched the Rangers broadcast. I’m telling you their TV guys are SO bad, it actually made me yearn for Greg, Walkie and … their answer to Robby was even horsier than our Robby! I think they were pretty impressed with Cole.

  549. tdb1977 says:

+ World Series championship number 6!!!

  550. Jandy says:

    about time! ;)

  551. Brandie says:

Ewe know which pond, Book em’ Plan-O.

  552. pattonbb says:

Happy Birthday Gerrit Cole. You’ll never pay for another beer in Pittsburgh for the rest of your life.

  553. Milo Hamilton says:

So your saying as an announcer Steve Busby makes a pretty good pitcher.

  554. Lad 9 says:

Had to go to the Baileys for yours Brandie. Damn, should have had brandy!

  555. Steelag70 says:

Cole’s effort tonight is the stuff of aces!!

  556. Wild Bill says:

Maybe this will remove some pressure that I’m sure the players would not admit to.

  557. Baywatch says:

    WillllllllVER! Up here!

  558. Brandie says:

    About Damn Time!

  559. Steelag70 says:

Bay…down here in Texas too…was listening to the radio broadcast….

  560. Baywatch says:

Wow! What a perk! Up here, Pattonbb!

  561. Brandie says:

Oh I could so make an inappropriate comment!!!!!

  562. KenKopp says:

  574. Brandie says:

Way to send the scourge of losing packing!

  575. Jandy says:

    Back at ya Laddie :*

  576. Arriba Wilver says:

Going with LBJ’s comment about Ford not being able to walk and chew gum at the same time. :-D

  577. Lad 9 says:

    Perfect Jeff!

  578. theplanisworking says:

    :D

  579. Jandy says:

Dream sweet dreams Bucs fans, I’m out ;)

  580. pattonbb says:

    Well done.

  581. Brandie says:

Will now go to sleep with the Fan post game. So happy you all accepted me and I had so many to share this with. Hugs!

  582. theplanisworking says:

    I second that!

  583. Night Friends, and sleep well! 83 and then some coming next.

  584. Lad 9 says:

+ A lot. Depending on the rest of the season, maybe a Pirate legend. That is exactly what your ace does.

  585. Arriba Wilver says:

    +1

  586. theplanisworking says:

    :D

    Night, Sunshine!

  587. BreakTheStreak says:

Night Branimal. Loved your feistiness as always!

  591. theplanisworking says:

    Yes. Yes it does.

  592. pattonbb says:

    Hugs all around.

  593. Lad 9 says:

Yes. And now you can change your screen name to Extend the Streak!

  594. theplanisworking says:

That clubhouse just exhaled. I heard it all the way up here.
Now concentrate, and win the division.

In honor of Biz, Go like 60!

    Everyone have a great night.

  595. Lad 9 says:

Night Steve. The best is yet to come.

  596. timd says:

    Trumansburg, NY

Pounded my fist into the wall almost 21 years ago, so have to show up tonight!

  597. Lad 9 says:

Night Hippo. I’m out. Proud to be a Bucco fan, the same as I was for the past 45+ years!

  598. BreakTheStreak says:

Very good idea. I can put that to rest after 20 years

  599. Karen22 says:

My son & daughter-in-law just called me from Oakmont. They’re popping champagne! I’m just smiling in relief. THANK GOD…it’s really OVER!!!!

  600. Karen22 says:

Been sipping here all night…should I guzzle the rest of the bottle?

  601. theplanisworking says:

    Before i go to bed…………. DANCE !!!

  602. Baywatch says:

Milo, Busby is terrible! He sounds like a guy doing bread commercials! And their color guy mumbles his Lone Ranger delivery so bad (he really sounds like a poor substitute for the Lone Ranger) you can hardly hear him.

Texas has this strange set-up where their color guys take turns at play-by-play and that’s what Busby was tonight. And, yes, he was a great pitcher back in the day!

Their guy Eric Nadel is good, but he must’ve been on radio tonight.

  603. Baywatch says:

Steelag, the wife would have been happy to do that, just to have our guys, too. But it’s the first chance we’ve ever had to SEE the Bucs play a Texas team since mlb.tv figures we’re in both Astros and Rangers markets. We’re holed up in a motel with cable for the time being.

  604. Steelag70 says:

I’m going to the game tomorrow….

  605. Karen22 says:

Can anyone explain why Morneau was batting there????

Did Clint forget Gabby Sanchez, a righty, is on the team and also plays first base????

    Un-freaking-believable!!

  606. Steelag70 says:

You know what Plan, they may just gfo on a streak now….

  607. Eric Bowser says:

High-fives to all those media members celebrating the Pirates 82nd win.

Hopefully Kristy won’t report me to the blogger world.

  608. Jim S. says:

Congrats to the Bucs and all of their fans who suffered through any portion of these 20 years. 81 was important. 82 is a little more important. Every win from here on out is very important. Here’s to about a dozen more in this regular season!

  609. Karen22 says:

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++!!!

  610. pattonbb says:

    82. I honestly had doubts if this would really happen. And don’t let anyone fool you, this matters.

The number 21 will never be negatively associated with this team.

  611. Steelag70 says:

The Rangers post game show is going nuts over Gerrit Cole….haha…their host said: “Gerrit Cole….OH MY GOD…”

  612. Baywatch says:

Have a great time! We thought about it. But it’s just far enough away (two hours from Tyler, where we live); and been hot enough … sorta enjoying seeing it on TV, having to put up with that boring Steve Busby, and his mumbling color guy notwithstanding!

  613. Karen22 says:

    OUCH! But so appropriate! ;)

  614. DJ says:

Yes, and 95 has a nice ring to it.

  615. Baywatch says:

    +1 Back At You!

  616. Baywatch says:

+1 … Gonna have to turn that back on. Or do you mean radio?

  617. Arriba Wilver says:

Jersey Shore? Does that mean you like Mark Madden?

(No need to respond, it’s a joke)

  618. Steelag70 says:

The rangers post game show on the radio was saying that…

  619. John Lease says:

You delivered! What do you need from me! :) :)

  620. John Lease says:

    Thank you Jesus.

  621. Jandy says:

    +a gazillion!

  622. Arriba Wilver says:

    +1

  623. JoeBucco says:

Ha, just call it good timing I guess. Now, if we can just win 83 tonight and 84 tomorrow, we’re in good shape. I was only in town for last night, so no promises from me these next two.
