By Dejan Kovacevic | Trib Total Media

Le’Veon Bell is expected to be out about a month, a source tells me.

The hits keep coming.

  1. He may have to learn an entirely new offensive system by then.

  2. No sense counting on someone that never existed.

  3. 1. This makes the Dwyer decision all the more poor. You start a guy who had two snaps all preseason, he fumbles. You then go to your 3rd down back and run him like Bettis in his Prime. You replace your leading rusher with a guy you don’t play because he doesn’t know the plays. Then you resign your leading rusher, list him as last player at position. Colbert and Tomlin deserve blame here. You really expect things to be better with this oline and group of running backs? You had to know Bell was going to be out a long time. Which goes to point 2.

    2. The Tight End situation is embarrassing. Beachum is your starting tight end and the game plan is built around him. They are in this spot because Colbert failed to upgrade it. Matt Spaeth was never the answer, he was poor catching the ball and now that he is gone a couple years, he turns into Mark Bruener. Heath will be back before him, you use your IR return on him? What if Pouncey could have come back this year? Poor moves again.

    3. Finally, the Offensive line. It was proven just having Ben is not enough to win a game. Gilbert and Adams need immediate improvement. You can’t throw deep when you get beat around the end the way they do. Really makes the L Jones in round 4 a poor pick. A team with so many holes does not need to fill the #3 QB with that pick.

    4. With so little on O, get the ball to Brown more. If Gilbert or Adams struggle, use the new guy at center and Beachum at tackle. If poor play is unacceptable, Tomlin needs to hold those accountable for it.

    5. Cincy D line vs Steeler O line will determine Monday night.

  4. I’m guessing we will not see him back till Oct 13th against the Jets.

It’s going to be a long month.

  5. Wasted pick on a RB that early.

    • Wow we have buried Bell already. Early returns say it was an excellant pick. Let’s see the guy play one regular season snap before he becomes a bust.
