  1. Drew71 says:

Big game in the ACC tonight.

    Once again, this isn’t it.

  2. Drew71 says:

And I see there’s a boatload of interest in this game.

  3. Arriba Wilver says:

I’m interested. Also interested in seeing the ODU quarterback.

But I’d prefer talking about Lambo. ;-)

  4. theplanisworking says:

Thats the difference between a boatload, and a bandwagon……….. ;)

  5. theplanisworking says:

    Hey, be careful.
The Boss is lurking, and he gave me a bold reaming on the Pens thread………

  6. 21sthebest says:

    Football please.

  7. Skip says:

I have a boatload of interest in this game because…..I’m an ODU grad.

  8. JohninOshkosh says:

    Interesting game for Pitt.

FCS schools always a trap game, it seems like. ODU not in the FCS top 25 but have a decent QB. This would be a bad loss for Pitt. Hope they get it done.

I can recall some decent basketball seasons at Old Dominion. Justin Verlander went to school at ODU.

  9. Drew71 says:

    Ah. Soccer.

  10. Drew71 says:

    I’m sure you deserved it.

I don’t know what you said.

But I’m sure you deserved it.

  11. Eric Bowser says:

Ok… I get it. I know PITT is rebuilding but this is year two and this is the best game plan Chryst and his staff can come up against ODU?

    This is absolutely pathetic.

  12. JohninOshkosh says:

Old Dominion 10 Pitt 0 End of 1Q

  13. Eric Bowser says:

    TD PITT!

    Nice run for Bennett.

Chryst needs to keep running the ball with him and Conner, quick throws to Boyd, and play-action rollout passes to TEs.

If they call any 5 or 7 step drops for Savage, he’ll brain cramp like Tino Sunseri and get sacked.

  14. JohninOshkosh says:

Isaac Bennett scampers for 25 yards and the touchdown capping a good drive by Pitt to make it 10-7.

  15. JohninOshkosh says:

I knew you couldn’t resist a Sunseri dig. lol

  16. Eric Bowser says:

There are many digs in these hands….

    1. Fire Bylsma
    2. Sunseri sucks
    3. Engelland sucks
    4. Garrett Jones is AAAA
    5. Polamalu is overrated
    6. Ryan Clark is way overrated
    7. Tomlin is Coach Obvioius

    to name a few…. lol

  17. theplanisworking says:

Remind me to never, ever kick your dog…………. ;)

  18. Jandy says:

That’s what I like about Eric, he’s not afraid to tell us how he really feels ;)

  19. JohninOshkosh says:

The Pens do have the best record in the NHL, you know. :)

  20. Jandy says:

Just a quick hello. Hubby in Lowe’s and I’m in the truck with the dogs lol

  21. Jandy says:

  22. theplanisworking says:

The longer Pitt allows this ODU team hang around, it could be very, very bad.

  23. Jandy says:

Hahaha how’s your behind end after the bold reaming, Hipposter??

  24. Jandy says:

    Catch yinz tomorrow!

  25. Eric Bowser says:

That’s great, I just hope Bylsma has his team prepared for a good playoff run by getting them prepared for tough matchups, game situations, and adjustments.

The injuries to Letang, Neal, and Bennett are forcing some guys to play in roles not expected, which is good.

  26. theplanisworking says:

  27. Eric Bowser says:

I used to be reserve…. just can’t remember when that last was…

  28. Eric Bowser says:

    Good thing I don’t have a dog……….. lol

  29. theplanisworking says:

    Bennett, 127 yards rushing, 3 touchdowns. :)
    Is Connor injured?

  30. Eric Bowser says:

    Natural hat trick for Bennett…..

    oh damn… wrong sport

  31. Eric Bowser says:

I don’t think so, I just think Bennett is running hard and finding the holes.

  32. theplanisworking says:

    FIRE B……… gah!

  33. Eric Bowser says:

Didn’t know Ryan Clark was dressed at safety for Pitt…

  34. JohninOshkosh says:

Pitt spots the Monarchs 10 and then proceeds to score 21. Sir Isaac Bennett with all the touchdowns

It’s halftime at Ketchup, hold the mustard, field and your Pitt Panthers lead 21-10.

  35. JohninOshkosh says:

Most of the Vegas sport books had Pitt at 17-18.5 point favorites.

  36. Eric Bowser says:

I think they’ll hit the number as long as they stick to the running game.

  37. Brandie says:

Shows how much depth there is.

  38. Drew71 says:

I watch the entire pre-game ceremony for the FSU-Clemson game at Death Vslley.

    Oh my.

However the game turns, that was one of the most impressive non-sports sports moments.

i usually roll my eyes at pre-game stuff. But boy that was something. .

Though so far it appears to be having zip effect on the Seminoles. I told my son that if FSU survives the first Q, they should pull away by the third. Didn’t know I was being conservative.

    10-0 Tallahassee Rednecks, first Q.

  39. Drew71 says:

I’m pulling for FSU, Alabama AND Oregon to end the season undefeated.

Then they’ll HAVE to expand the BCS.

    Oh wait…

  40. Drew71 says:

    17-0. Gulp.

  41. Eric Bowser says:

nice play by Savage to buy himself time

  42. JohninOshkosh says:

Baylor, Missouri and Ohio State also undefeated.

  43. Drew71 says:

    0-0 Red Sox-Leylands.

What to watch: Scherzer has thrown 47 pitches and has six outs. Not to mention two on, none out in the bottom of the third.

Lots of Scherzer pitches = Tigers bullpen = Sox advantage.

  44. JohninOshkosh says:

    Few thoughts switching channels:

Wisconsin looks like they’ll be in a shootout with Illinois.

Notre Dame up 14-10 at half against Southern Cal. I liked SC in this game. One of my favorite college games of the year.

No score in Boston in Game 6. Just would note that there is nobody in sports broadcasting more overrated than Erin Andrews.

    Pitt now leads 28-17.

  45. Eric Bowser says:

Pitt’s defense is some of the worst scheming that I’ve ever seen…

middle of field is WIDE OPEN

  46. theplanisworking says:

I dont care about Erin Andrews sports broadcasting at all. ;)

  47. JohninOshkosh says:

Pitt hanging on now at 28-24.

  48. Drew71 says:

Left them off on purpose. Missouri will play Alabama if they stay undefeated. The other two wont have as serious a claim as the Big Three.

But if the SEC, PAC 12 and ACC champs are undefeated following their conference championship games, all three will have very valid claims.

I used to root for chaos like this to make a point about the BCS. But now that the BCS is about to die, I’d hate to see one of those teams left out.

Tangent Pet Peeve Alert: when people have said: “the BCS stinks, we need a playoff”, that always drove me NUTS.

The BCS is a playoff. Just a stupid, limited, two-team playoff.

MLB for DECADES had nothing but the two-team World Series. And yet no one suggests that MLB before 1969 didnt have playoffs until they expanded to four teams.

    I feel better.

  49. Drew71 says:

Scherzer: 54 pitches thru three innings.

That might be the stat that matters most. Tigers bullpen is their weakness.

  50. Drew71 says:

Then he throws a nine pitch dominating inning just to prove how stoopid I am

  51. Eric Bowser says:

It is ok, you thought he was going to implode like A.J. Burnett.

  52. JohninOshkosh says:

I never had a problem with how college football did things, really. Grew up a big college football fan. I like going to the games. I like bowl games. I love meaningful “regular season” games. I never really cared who won the national championship, quite frankly. Wasn’t that important to me. Just like I never really cared who won the Heisman. For me it was following the rivalries, the traditions, the conference titles. Bowl games are just fun to watch over the holidays with the family all around.

Kinda like the EPL. Fans of that league love the individual games and rivalries. It doesn’t have any playoffs at all.

I get the clamor and the ESPN noise but college football playoffs arn’t going to make me anymore of fan.

    I feel better, too!

  53. theplanisworking says:

Its all corrupt, and I feel slimy even cheering for teams that cheat.

There, I feel better three !!!!!!!!!!!

  54. Drew71 says:

Joyner, FSU, pulls down an INT and breaks Clemson’s heart as they were driving.

Earlier he forced two fumbles. Kind of a good game.

24-7 Noles, who are driving again.

  55. theplanisworking says:

I feel for Milo, one of the 10,000 in attendance.

  56. Eric Bowser says:

    that’s 10,000?

I’m so glad I didn’t buy the tickets on stubhub for $1…. I think Perry and I would have left at half time.

  57. Drew71 says:

Nope. Just thought he would be out after the 6th. Then the Russian Roulette bullpen would take over.

  58. Drew71 says:

    Let’s Go Leylands!

  59. pattonbb says:

Victorino grand slam in the 7th…..what a game.

  60. JoeyBats says:

    Hail to PITT
    (…in spite of themselves)
