  1. Karen22 says:

STOP TURNING THE PUCK OVER (that means YOU, Geno!)!

    That oughta do it. ;)

  2. theplanisworking says:

So Scuds is out for a month.
Good thing we have 9 defensemen for just such emergencies.

Pens need to really concentrate on D tonight. No sloppy play, no odd man rushes.

  3. theplanisworking says:

Between you, and Jandy, the fear of God should be put into them ! ;)

  4. JohninOshkosh says:

NBCSN has the Rangers home opener tonight. Does anyone know what they did to the Garden ? Will it be noticeable to television viewers or is all infrastructure, amenity stuff ?

The Milwaukee Bucks open their campaign at MSG on Wednesday. I love the place. Hope they didn’t mess with it too much.

  5. Karen22 says:

“Flightless waterfowl.” You’re doing your job, too!

  6. Eric Bowser says:

The one improvement we should see is better lighting.

  7. Pucknutz says:

You forgot – HIT SOMBODY !!!! lol

  8. JohninOshkosh says:

Thanks, Eric. Yeah, with that signature ceiling, it was probably difficult to get decent lighting with the older lighting packages.

I didn’t spring for the NHL package so I’ll have to follow the game here.

Just a note for everyone: NBCSN is featuring the Penguins/Bruins in their NHL Rivals series tomorrow night. Also on that network tomorrow is Bob Costas interviewing Crosby.

    End of NBCSN ad!

  9. Pucknutz says:

Agree w/Stiegy and Bob -spontaneous fight – has a place in the game.
Don’t like the “goon” fights – but did sorta enjoy that one!!!

  10. Eric Bowser says:

took away a PP…. though at this point, maybe that’s a good thing.

  11. JohninOshkosh says:

Last season, the Pens did not go three consecutive games without a point a single blessed time. Maybe the fight wakes them up a bit.

  12. Pucknutz says:

Not sure Eric – I did not see em call it – but these old eyes ain’t so good.
You do have a point thought – maybe no loss there.

  13. Dom says:

I like the changes on this site for iPhones.

  14. JohninOshkosh says:

It was a garbled mess on my android. Haven’t checked in a few hours as I’ve been on my Medieval laptop (anybody remember those?)

  15. Eric Bowser says:

    Glass = Kevin Stevens…. LOL

  16. Dom says:

    Tied game. Bummer.

  17. Dom says:

That was an embarrassing power play. The hurricanes had better scoring chances than we did.

  18. Sarah says:

What is this “power play” you speak of?

  19. theplanisworking says:

They did a lot of work to the concourses and entanceways to the Garden.
Looking at it on TV, the lighting looks a little better.

Not only does the Graden play host to the Rangers and Knicks, they also have concerts, and a circus yearlt. I think I read somewhere that the Garden is in use 349 days a year. That is amazing.

  20. Jandy says:

    Someone takin’ name in vain???

  21. Jandy says:

Definitely no loss, our PP sucks.

  22. Jandy says:

Not quite, Eric, but he is looking better ;)

  23. Jandy says:

  24. Jandy says:

Good to see you Sistah :)

  25. theplanisworking says:

    Um, the Garden also…………. :(

  26. theplanisworking says:

    Nope, just fearin’ the 9 Wides……….. ;)

  27. theplanisworking says:

  28. Jandy says:

LOL you got my Jandy typing disease really bad ;)

  29. Jandy says:

You? lol…you need have no fear my friend :)

  30. theplanisworking says:

  31. JohninOshkosh says:

    Thanks, Plan.

I believe there are no more knowledgeable basketball fans anywhere than those that go to the Garden.

Never been to a hockey game there so not sure about their fans!

  32. theplanisworking says:

    Went to one game there.
Sat up in the upper deck Blue seats.
    Rough crowd.
But they were fun, even knowing I was from Pittsburgh.

  33. Brandie says:

    Hey Plan Flakes! What’s shakin’?

  34. theplanisworking says:

    My large behind. ;)

  35. Wild Bill says:

    That’s too much info, Hippo.

  36. theplanisworking says:

  37. Wild Bill says:

This feels like a game where we miss James Neal. Need a quick shot sniper.

  38. Wild Bill says:

    Or maybe not with Crosby.

  39. theplanisworking says:

    KUNITZ !!!!!!!!!!!

    HE FLEW !!!! ;)

  40. Jandy says:

  41. Wild Bill says:

A 2 – 1 lead after 2. We’ve got em right where they want us.

  42. theplanisworking says:

  43. theplanisworking says:

You know, the Steelers may get the best TV rating, the Penguins may get the largest market share in the world, but here on our little blog, it is clear the Pirates drive the # of posts.
Just look at today………. awful sports weekend, and yet not even 200 posts.
Very little discussion, even on lengthy posts chock full of info.

During Pirate season, 5-600 posts every day.

I still say, I need to pass out candy. ;)

DK: We go over this all the time. It’s not representative at all.

  44. Wild Bill says:

Maybe this is seen as a baseball centric blog by others. I do think that many have given up on the Steelers and hockey season is too early to be very excited yet.

  45. Wild Bill says:

Think everybody’s watching the Series game?

  46. Wild Bill says:

    Megna gets his first!

  47. theplanisworking says:

    GOAL !!!!!!!!
    MEGNA ????????

  48. theplanisworking says:

    Not me. :)

  49. theplanisworking says:

I do remember lots of posters saying they wouldnt be back til spring.
    More candy for us………

  50. Milo Hamilton says:

    Hey Plan,

I’ll be broadcasting your alma mater’s playoff game Friday night.

  51. Wild Bill says:

    Smilin like a butcher’s dog!

  52. theplanisworking says:

    Who are they playing?
I havent checked that info yet…….

  53. Milo Hamilton says:

At Highlands. Easy trip for me. I’ve got Highlands as far as they go. If they win they play TJ. Finally my chance to meet Mr. Hasis ?

  54. Wild Bill says:

Uh-oh. I’m a Golden Ram from way back.

  55. theplanisworking says:

    You possibly might.
If you do, dont forget your cardboard cut-out of Barmes. ;)

Shame what has happened to New Castle football over the years……..

  56. Milo Hamilton says:

    How far back Bill ?

  57. Wild Bill says:

    From 1973.

  58. Milo Hamilton says:

    Fran Rogel.

  59. Wild Bill says:

Yup. Didn’t play football, but had him for gym class. Liked him a lot, and he liked me. Used to give me doo doo about being too skinny to be of use to him or anyone else.

  60. Milo Hamilton says:

The guy I do the games with was Fran’s next door neighbor in North Braddock. Then he got a job up here only to find that Fran had settled here too. Small world. Hey diddle diddle …

  61. Wild Bill says:

    Rogel up the middle.

  62. Milo Hamilton says:

Jayson Megna looks like he’s 12.

  63. Wild Bill says:

And the Pens were sick and tired of blowing games in the third!

  64. Milo Hamilton says:

    Tarentum or Natrona ?

DK: Why’d they build those apartments across the river from New Ken?

  65. theplanisworking says:

    Have fun everyone!
Nice to see the Pens back on track.
Even nicer to get a W against a division win. :)

  66. Wild Bill says:

Milo, where is it that you live?

  67. Milo Hamilton says:

    Lower Burrell.

  68. Eric Bowser says:

Penguins looked a bad team for the first 40 minutes and then looked much better for the final 20 minutes to beat the Hurricanes 3-1. Great to see the leg shot for Megna, he’ll tell his kids it was top shelf.

  69. Wild Bill says:

In the wild country of Fawn Twp.

  70. Wild Bill says:

Dated two Burrell girls. Good times.

    DK: At the same time?

  71. Wild Bill says:

    Enjoy, Plan Man.

  72. Wild Bill says:

Eric, we didn’t see the same first period. Except for the penalties that led to the Canes goal, I thought the Pens dominated.

  73. Eric Bowser says:

I didn’t think it was all that dominating in the first period and their PP…. ugh.

  74. Wild Bill says:

PP was a mess, but killing em is one thing the Canes seem to do well.

  75. Nancy52 says:

Scuderi has a broken ankle, surgery, out indefinitely

  76. james thompson says:

At least the Pens woke up last night and beat Carolina 3-1. Not only that, they gave up only 1 goal as opposed to the 3 per game they’d been giving up during their 3 game losing streak and so, they were on their toes this time anyhow.

  77. james thompson says:

The fear of God needs to be put into the Steelers as well!

  78. james thompson says:

The Pens proved last night that they’re the best team in a weak division. And that’s how it’ll likely be until the playoffs in April, when the real test will come.
