If San Diego losses, the second wild card team has 4 losses.

  10. twentytwo22 says:

    Philip Rivers ‘Tails never fails’

    Jerome Boger ‘Heads’

  11. twentytwo22 says:

Awful play calling by San Diego at the end of regulation. They lose in OT.

    AFC Second wild card
    5-4 New York Jets
    4-4 Miami
    4-4 Tennessee
    4-4 San Diego
    3-4 Baltimore
    3-4 Oakland
    3-5 Cleveland
    2-5 Pittsburgh
    2-5 Houston

  12. twentytwo22 says:

Nevermind the Steelers can’t get out of their own way. What a clown show.

  13. Sarah says:

    Strip sack lovely…..

  14. Dom says:

We better be going with the man to man today

  15. theplanisworking says:

Gotta love the NFL TV rules.
Local station that carries all Steeler games……… nope. Carrying Clowns-Ratbirds.
Philly station I use as a backup……… stayed with Skins game.

    Just got the game.
    Missed the fumble. What else?

  16. Sarah says:

Bens fifth lost fumble of the season.

  17. Sarah says:

They are saying the worst rushing nbrs since 1936…..can that be true??

  18. theplanisworking says:

    Ugh.

If I could get Sunday Ticket, I would.
It is NFL purgatory out here…………

  19. theplanisworking says:

Woo-Hoo!!! We are making history!!! ;)

  20. twentytwo22 says:

3rd and 2 at the New England 36.

  21. twentytwo22 says:

The Eagles with 158 yards in the first quarter at Oakland.

The Browns score a TD on 4th and Goal against Baltimore.

  22. Sarah says:

    Denied!!!

  23. Eric Bowser says:

I see Ryan Clark is so smart, he’s figured out how to NOT cover Gronkowski.

  24. twentytwo22 says:

TD Riley Cooper. Insert black hole jokes here. 14-3 Eagles.

  25. Sarah says:

I thought he was still looking for Pryor…..

  26. Sarah says:

    Good God really?

  27. theplanisworking says:

He was getting out of his ESPN clothes……..

  28. theplanisworking says:

    Sigh.

  29. Sarah says:

That is what a real offense looks like.

  30. twentytwo22 says:

Ben’s been awful all year. I’m watching all these teams we need to lose and it doesn’t even matter because our future hall of famer can’t play clean ball.

  31. Sarah says:

    Astonishingly bad. Who was covering….anyone?

  32. J Walter Weatherman says:

That sequence was the Steelers season in a nutshell.

  33. BillyBaduka says:

Threw it up for grabs. Ugly. Stupid. Looked like he just eanted to get it out of his hands.

    Ughhhh

  34. Brandie says:

Cooking soup. Game is being recorded. I see I am not missing much.

I was in The Lehigh Valley over the weekend. Passed the exit for fort Indian Town Gap. Thought of you.

    Hello all.

  35. twentytwo22 says:

    8 Int, 5 fumbles lost, 27 sacks in 7 1/4 games.

  36. theplanisworking says:

    Thanks Muppet.
Thought I heard a funny sounding horn.

No, you arent missing too much, brandimal.
    Hope you R doing well.

    :)

  37. Eric Bowser says:

DO NOT… seriously, DO NOT blame Ben on that INT.

Watch replay… he had Brown at WR and Miller at TE as his only pass options.

Miller was double covered in middle by LB and S, while Brown was only other option.

This team…. can’t even execute a simple quick out or quick slant.

  38. twentytwo22 says:

When he’s sober he’s a good football player. 63 yard bomb. 21-3 Philadelphia.

Nick Foles has 9 TD and 0 INT in Chip Kelly’s offense.

  39. Brandie says:

I am okay Hippoplanamus! Hope you are well too my friend.

  40. Brandie says:

About this team’s execution…I am in favor of it.

    BTW…Good news about Perry.

  41. Sarah says:

ER…. Was that not badly under thrown by Ben?……

  42. J Walter Weatherman says:

You make a good point, but he could’ve thrown the ball away if nobody was open.

  43. Brandie says:

Rethinking the execution…skip it. Nothing good has come for this team out of the shotgun anyway.

  44. theplanisworking says:

La’Veon Bell, if he stays healthy, provides hope for the future.

  45. cherokee23 says:

I feel your pain. last week i paid Directv $45 to watch that display versus Oakland!

  46. theplanisworking says:

    I am good.
Now I know what you were saying last night about being in the Lehigh Valley.
Always good to hear from the blog’s ray of sunshine.

  47. theplanisworking says:

    HA !!!!! :D

  48. cherokee23 says:

I see the script called for Ben to drop the ball and also underthrow by 10 yards out of endzone. This isn’t meant to single out ben or shield Haley, but when the line can’t pass block and players don’t make plays……..so many areas in need of improvement!

  49. twentytwo22 says:

Nick Foles is killing the Raiders 14-16 256yds 4td 0int. 28-10 Eagles in the second quarter. 325 yards of offense.

  50. J Walter Weatherman says:

There is no ingenuity in this offense whatsoever. Who didn’t know that the Steelers would run the ball straight up the middle there?

  51. theplanisworking says:

THEY CALLED A TIMEOUT FOR THAT PLAY CALL??????

    CLOCK MANAGEMENT TOMLIN, CLOCK MANAGEMENT!

  52. JohninOshkosh says:

In what universe did the Steelers think a line plunge up the gut would get them the first down. ? I doubt a soul in either Commonwealth did not know that was coming.

  53. Brandie says:

Nothing says Incredible Hulk more than a pi$$ed off Hippo! Tsunami time in The Pond!

  54. theplanisworking says:

    You are certifiable ! ;)

  55. JohninOshkosh says:

Wow. The Pats looked good on that drive. Steelers bit on every play action in the sequence.

  56. Sarah says:

This game could end up 56-0….seriously……

  57. cherokee23 says:

Ya know….some of these personal foul calls are a disgrace. Saw several today lie that or even less. Players have been broken in this regard, they just seemed resigned to accepting the fact that there will be bad calls like that

  58. JohninOshkosh says:

    OMG! No huddle!

  59. Steelag70 says:

    Nice deep throw by Ben…

  60. Vette60 says:

Geez….the Steelers look reallyl awful. Offsense…well, Sanders just had a nice play, but that’s about it…

Nobody can handle Gronk and what’s up with the penalty on Troy? Unnecessary roughness? Why? The answer of Simms and Nantz was lame…he hit him in the shoulder and was making a play…they said he launched?

    2-7 here we come.

    Take care all…

    Randy in RVA.

  61. JohninOshkosh says:

Gotta get a TD here. FG just won’t cut it.

  62. Steelag70 says:

This team is poorly talented, poorly prepared and poorly coached…

  63. Steelag70 says:

    Pathetic team…

  64. poz says:

A FG, but don’t see how the Steelers defense can stop the Pats offense. Not the way they are playing right now. No answer for Gronkowski.

  65. Steelag70 says:

I just cannot believe that the Rooney’s are just going to sit idle this offseason and let things stay the same. This team is totally lost…

  66. cherokee23 says:

    Yes….and don’t anyone for a second think that it isn’t all3!!!

  67. Steelag70 says:

Can we just triple team Gronkowski?

  68. theplanisworking says:

Why was no Steeler defender within 30 yards of Amendola?

  69. Vette60 says:

    Oh geez…Amendola running free again…

    Yuck.

  70. poz says:

Seen bad Steelers team before, but don’t recall a defense this bad.

  71. Steelag70 says:

    Nice play by Heyward…

  72. Steelag70 says:

I love Troy, but he looks lost out there right now…

  73. cherokee23 says:

    triple teaming Gronk….LOL

  74. Steelag70 says:

Whole team is bad…top 5 pick here we come…

  75. florida dteeler says:

What happened with “we are going to get tough with Gronkowski”???How can anyone watch this team and say they are not ill prepared to play???

  76. florida dteeler says:

Dwyer is a better runner than Tomlin’s new hero–Bell.

  77. Vette60 says:

Well, that’s better. Nice play for the TD. Let’s see if the D can come up with a stop…

  78. Steelag70 says:

This team is so painful to watch right now…

  79. Steelag70 says:

    Nope

  80. JohninOshkosh says:

Good teams respond with points. New England is a good team.

  81. Steelag70 says:

And the Rooney’s will just sit idly by this offseason…

  82. Vette60 says:

    Right about that…double yuck!

  83. Vette60 says:

Holy Cow is this bad or what…too many penalties extending drives for the Pats…

    What a mess…

    Randy

  84. Frankie says:

    Yes they are….and well coached

  85. pattonbb says:

    And getting better every week.

  86. twentytwo22 says:

Um.. Nick Foles has 6 TD passes with 11:30 left in the 3rd quarter

  87. Steelag70 says:

    Against Oakland…

  88. Vette60 says:

Steelers really took advantage of that Oakland D, didn’t they!

Nick Foles – 6 TDs.. Geez.

    R.

  89. Steelag70 says:

Steelers need to blow it up in the offseason and start over..

  90. Barb says:

They just need to blow it up period. Of course they are real adept at blowing themselves up.

  91. theplanisworking says:

They could use all the dynamite in the world…………. it wouldnt detonate.
Where is Jandy when you need her.

  92. Steelag70 says:

    Bout time Troy…

  93. pattonbb says:

The worst team ever is only down by a td.

  94. Barb says:

Her size 9 wides are out dancing!

  95. twentytwo22 says:

7 TDs. 4:28 left in the 3rd quarter.

  96. theplanisworking says:

    :)

  97. Steelag70 says:

    Foles now with 7 TD’s…

  98. Steelag70 says:

Foles is doing his Drew Brees impersonation like he did in HS…

  99. pattonbb says:

The worst team ever just tied the game.

  100. theplanisworking says:

This second half……………… why couldnt we see this offense anytime previously this year?

    Amazing comeback!!!

  101. JMB says:

    Showing some fight!

  102. Vette60 says:

Well, the world’s worst team jut tied it up…how about that…

Let’s see if that sofff Steelers D can stop Brady…

    Time to eat…back later on.

    R.

  103. Barb says:

Well at least they have some fight in them, which is a good thing.

  104. theplanisworking says:

    Cancel that dynamite……….. ;)

  105. Eric Bowser says:

Haven’t had a chance to watch much since mid-2nd quarter…. how the heck is this game tied right now?

  106. Barb says:

The defense cannot stop a matchbox car.

  107. Barb says:

    Divine intervention.

  108. cherokee23 says:

    Players making plays!

  109. Steelag70 says:

    Bout time Worilds showed up….

  110. theplanisworking says:

Eric, dont know if you have seen DK’s Sunday Morning Column, but head over and see DK’s response to my comment about the Flyers. Amazing, and not in a good way…..

  111. Steelag70 says:

    Gronkowski injured…

  112. Steelag70 says:

Bell finding some running room 2nd half and Cotchery making plays…

  113. Steelag70 says:

    Sanders…..seriously????

  114. Eric Bowser says:

here i go to check it out….

  115. Brandie says:

I am Certified Certifiable by the USDA!

  116. JohninOshkosh says:

    Cray cray game!

  117. cherokee23 says:

and then they stop making plays…..Bell wrong way, Sanders drops, Ben overthrows

  118. Eric Bowser says:

Oh yeah, I saw about 28.1 yesterday…. disgusting really.

NHL has no interest in cleaning up the game, they want to be catering to the Canadian and old time owners that crave the brutality that lessens their product.

  119. Steelag70 says:

Can we get a real punter please??

  120. poz says:

Ben misses a wide open Miller. Leads to a punt and now Pats in position to go up 10.

  121. JohninOshkosh says:

    Eric, you changed your avi!

  122. theplanisworking says:

When I heard that last night, I was stunned.
But, I should have known better.

  123. poz says:

    Williams is in Cleveland

  124. JohninOshkosh says:

The NHL is seriously lucky that Holtby isn’t in a coma or his wife isn’t planning his final arrangements. Even in boxing it’s a big no no to hit the back of the head.

Maybe that would have got Emery a suspension.

  125. Pat4Pgh says:

Why is William Gay in a uniform let alone on the field?

  126. JohninOshkosh says:

Ben missing the open receiver on third down in that last Steeler possession is looming big now.

  127. poz says:

Brady has made every throw in key situations. Ben has not. But it’s not like the defense has been stout. Far from it. Just not a good team.

  128. SJB says:

Sure. They’ll even waste a top round draft pick to get one. Oh wait a minute, already tried that. Another Colbert fail.

Geee, and another Patriots score too…How Gay.

  129. poz says:

You are right. And not his first miss.

  130. Eric Bowser says:

yeah, it was time to show the beard and the beautiful fall colors in the background.

  131. Steelag70 says:

Another Steeler defender taking the brunt of a hit…this defense used to be physical…

  132. theplanisworking says:

    Doubt it.
Milo said Emery needs to pee in a cup. I agree.

And I wonder how Shanahan feels to be emasculated by Bettman.

  133. SJB says:

About time to queue the Steelers turnover to officially take them out of the game.

Tomlin “obviously” not pleased with the results, but we’ll “take it” and move on. lol

Eagles routing the Raiders in Oakland. 7 TD passes from Foles before the 4th quarter. That tells you how bad this Steelers team really is…but it’s probably even worse than that.

  134. JohninOshkosh says:

Maybe I should quit watching. I left to change my faucet in the kitchen sink and the Steelers tied it up. Returned and back to el stinko. lol

    Turning off now….

  135. Steelag70 says:

Oh well…decent effort today, but just not good enough…

  136. Steelag70 says:

Still see a top 5 pick for this team coming…

  137. Steelag70 says:

Heyward one of the few defensive players to actually play well today.

  138. Steelag70 says:

    Game over…

  139. theplanisworking says:

    Good Night, everyone.
    Be safe.

  140. Steelag70 says:

    500 yds allowed today….wow…

  141. Steelag70 says:

Time for Lebeau to retire too…

  142. SJB says:

Sounds fun. I was unclogging a jammed up garbage disposal myself. Not something to get excited about, but more pleased with the results than this game. It’s amazing how much more you can get done around the house when the Steelers suk. At this rate, I’ll have that addition to the house I’ve been thinking about done by the end of the season…heck, I could build a new house by myself by 2016 thanks to the Steelers, cause they won’t be any better by then either.

Maybe that’s why Pittsburgh was able to go through that first renaissance in the 80′s. No football to preoccupy everyone’s minds.

  143. SJB says:

And somehow they’ll be ranked No. 1 by the end of the season.

  144. poz says:

    Good night and take care.

  145. Brandie says:

Back to calling for this team’s execution.

  146. JohninOshkosh says:

Hahahaha!! Maybe I should start on that deck….

  147. poz says:

Save the ammo for something that is worthy.

  148. Steelag70 says:

Greatest quote ever by a HC…John McKay with Tampa Bay in 1976 when asked about his offense’s execution…his response: “I’m all for it…”

  149. Vette60 says:

Wow. Go and eat dinner with my kids and come back to 17 NE unanswered…as Myron would say Yoi and Double Yoi!

Kiddos are watching a show before bed and I must say their choice is much more enjoyable than watching the Steelers!

    Night all.

    Take care,
    Randy in RVA.

  150. SJB says:

Time for him to go sit under a palm tree. No reason to waste his time left on this earth trying to do anything with such a depleted talent pool. Even a good coach/coordinator needs players to be anything but a failure and that won’t be happening any time soon.

Which is why sticking with Tomlin makes equally no sense. This team is years away from being relevant again and when they eventually are, Ben won’t be the QB and Tomlin won’t be the HC. The faster they realize this and move on, the better for everyone. Time for the Rooneys to hit restart button and stop being delusional about this situation. They have more holes than a good block of Swiss cheese and its only getting moldy and stinkier.

  151. Steelag70 says:

    Kudos to Cotchery today…

  152. Steelag70 says:

I will lay the majority of the blame for this game on the defense…

  153. poz says:

I had to listen to the game on the computer. I know that all home team annoucers are homers; however, for one of the Steelers annoucers to say the play of the Steelers defense was “outstanding” is delusional….

  154. Steelag70 says:

    600 yds??? Really????

  155. Frankie says:

Mr Rooney are you embarrassed yet?

  156. poz says:

An old, slow team living in the past. Right now that is the standard.

  157. cherokee23 says:

    Ya…goodbye credibility

  158. Steelag70 says:

    This team should be embarrassed….

  159. SJB says:

Sounds like an Ilkin move. Brown nosing for the Hillgrove spot…seeing as how he’s about as sharp as a bowling ball anymore and due for the pasture soon.

  160. poz says:

No sense throwing it away Ben. Just get sacked.

  161. poz says:

Dwyer looks like one of the few Steelers with a pulse…

  162. Steelag70 says:

Way to run the wrong route Antonio….

  163. poz says:

The defense can’t even stop a running play when they know the team is going to run. Never seen a Steelers team give up before, until now.

  164. Eric Bowser says:

    Defense gave up…..

  165. Lad 9 says:

This is painful. Well, we still have 87 and company skating, and pitchers and catchers report in 100 days. …..

  166. Steelag70 says:

Jeebus…..never have I seen a Steeler defense just flat out give up…

  167. poz says:

First time I’ve ever said this in my 61 years. The Steelers quit. They are a bunch of pathetic losers.

  168. cherokee23 says:

I don’t generally care for Phil simms, but he just spoke the truth!

  169. Frankie says:

Ziggy Hood ……See you later…Bye Bye

  170. Steelag70 says:

This team I believe has quit on Tomlin…

  171. Lad 9 says:

Why would you send Ben back out? Stupid…

  172. Lad 9 says:

I agree. He has lost them.

  173. Steelag70 says:

If the Rooney’s are not thoroughly embarrassed by this performance, then there is no hope…

  174. poz says:

    Good night and go Pens!

  175. JoeyBats says:

    55 points allowed….. > 600 yards given up….by the Steelers defense.
    .
NEVER thought I would see the day!
    .
    Disappointing.
    .
    Disgusting.
    .
    Embarrassing.
    .
    Horrible, just HORRIBLE !!!!
    .
    :-(

  176. JoeyBats says:

Looking forward to PITT hoops ! :-)

  177. Jim S. says:

How do you not scrap everything and start over at the end of the season? I’m talking Colbert, Tomlin, Haley and yes, even the Legendary Dick LeBeau. They all have to go. Plus, whichever scouts have the most influence on our drafts the last few years. Oh, and all the coaches and staff who were hired solely on the basis of where they were raised.

    Defensively, we cannot:

    a) Stop the run
    b) Defend the pass
    c) Pressure the opposing QB
    d) Cause turnovers
    e) Avoid stupid, costly penalties

Looked like Cameron Hayward was trying. That’s about it.

    Offensively, we cannot:

    a) Rush the ball consistently, although NE allows everyone to run
    b) Catch the ball consistently
    c) Avoid careless management of the ball by the QB
    d) Avoid costly, drive-killing penalties
    e) Protect the QB

I thought Bell played hard and Cotchery made some plays.

Who is Coach Soundbyte going to blame this week?

  178. Steelag70 says:

Most pts and yds ever given up by the Steelers…

  179. Bull Durham says:

I didn’t think my anger could reach this height. I could coach and motivate these guys to play much better than any one of these pathetic excuses of leadership. I’ve never felt this way as the huge fan that I am. Evaluators of talent: pathetic. Coaches, including Tomlin, need to be fired. Wholesale player changes, effective immediately, including Polamalu, Sanders, and Woodley.
Oh yeah, u see what a depleted Eagle team with a new coach and backup QB hung on the Raiders in Oakland today, in Oakland??
Steelers are a joke, and I hang it on Colbert, Tomlin, Hailey, and LeBeau. Never seen a Steeler team so ‘not ready’ to play football each week.

  180. Steelag70 says:

I lay this one squarely on the defense…even with the offense’s mistakes, 31 pts should be enough to win a football game…

  181. Jim S. says:

College hoops may need to go to 20 man rosters to ensure they have 5 guys left on each team by the end of the game. Have you seen how many fouls are being called with the new rules and emphasis on no handchecks? I’m hoping the players adapt before the regular season.

  182. Jim S. says:

Yeah, but New England has a horrible defense. The offense looked sharp right in the middle of the game. I agree with that. But, then when the game was 27-24, a ball went right through Sanders’ hands followed by Ben missing a wide open Heath in the middle of the field. After that, we were a mess again the rest of the way.

At one point, they showed a graphic that we started 6 drives in NE territory. That was barely past halftime. We could have scored even more. But, I get your point that the defense was JV all the way tonight.

  183. Jim S. says:

Wasn’t it just a few years ago when we went an entire season with 0 or 1 300 yd game allowed? 600+ tonight is just embarrassing. It is lack of effort, lack of talent, poor coaching all converging at once.

  184. Jim S. says:

Is the Varsity game on next?

  185. Steelag70 says:

This team has quit on Tomlin…

  186. SJB says:

But wait everyone…there’s at least 4-5 more years of this and that’s “if” the Rooney’s get a clue and realize it’s officially rebuild time and clean house from top to bottom. If they don’t, I suggest everyone examine the 80′s teams. Sometimes the Rooney’s stubbornness to change and obliviousness to need to can be a bad thing too. But that’s ok, well forget that happened…like most do.

Sorry, but I’ll trade watching Troy intercept a Steelers pass for the Ravens, or watching Ben get sacked for another team, if that’s what it takes to get this team back to respectability, before I’m lamenting the good ‘ol days of when the Steelers were a good team again from my hospice care rocking chair and drooling Fiber One and prune juice out of my old, cracked Jack Lambert Eat’n Park glass.

Time for the Rooney’s and everyone who sees a quick fix to this problem – with their “they’ll turn it around next season attitude” – to put on the big boy pants and realize it’s over with this era of Steelers football and work hard to forge a new one. Nothing worthwhile comes without sacrifice. It’s either that, or they can sit back and be ok with ultimate failure, sprinkled with occasional moments of mediocrity and false hope for the next decade or two…hence; they can be the Jets or Bengals. I’d rather they not.

  187. Jim S. says:

Lots of guys stealing money right now.

  188. JoeyBats says:

Our defense is SO COMPLEX…..not even our DB’s know WHEN and WHO to cover! ;-)
    .
I also HATE to see it when the Steelers “D”…flat out ….QUITS……..

  189. JoeyBats says:

Even Tom Bradley (the ultimate Steelers apologist) sez on the Steelers post game show on 970AM….that the Steelers “quit” at the end of the game, today.

  190. likeabugonarug says:

btw – Philly flew out to Oakland on Saturday.

    Kevin

  191. Jim S. says:

Plus 3 turnovers. We scored 31, but left a lot more on the field.

  192. cherokee23 says:

Ya…have now heard 3 national personalities call out the players

  193. SJB says:

It’s all of the above. And that’s when you know this is a bigger problem than the glass half-fuller’s would like you to believe. This isn’t the occasional “stick a fork in them, they’re done for the season” team you will have from time to time. This is the it’s over for this era of Steelers football time and don’t get to upset if you find yourself doing meaningful things on Sunday for the next few years. Everyone knew this could happen eventually and it is upon us now.

An unfortunate combination of bad luck and mismanagement turned this team into what you see know (blamed to be shared everywhere), it happens even with the best of organizations (Outside of New England it seems) and we can only hope the Rooney’s act fast and make the right decisions to get things back on track before it becomes the acceptable norm and what we refer to 5 to 10 years from now as “Steelers football”.

  194. SJB says:

It’s what happens when you take away ping-pong from young, millionaire primadonna’s (excuse me…professional athletes). ;)

  195. Vette60 says:

    Wow.

I just got the kiddos tucked in and had DVR’d the rest in case I “missed” anything. Looks like a “missed” an epic showing by our defense. Sure looks like it from the score in the 4th…debacle is the word that comes to mind.

What a mess this has become and I’ll admit, I didn’t think it was as bad as it now appears to be…I think SJB’s point above is a vaild one…I was a kid when those rough years in the mid 80s occurred (Brister and Walton anyone) so I sorta forget how bad some of those teams were…

Really would hate a sustained run of that, but do seem some of that coming if they don’t make some dramatic changes. I’d start with the two coordinators at a minimum and look outside the organ-i-zation for replacements. Great that Haley was a ball boy for the team when he was a kid, but doen’t mean boo now. Coach LeBeau, it’s time to get on with your life’s work. You have been a great assest to the team, but the time has come. The Defense is just outright ineffective now. No turnovers, no QB pressure, etc.

Tomlin, well, I would give him a chance to get things righted, but I think if we have a 3rd year of poor execution, it’s time to move on there as well.

It also seems that Art II doesn’t quite have the same football acumen as his Dad…would prefer if he stayed out of the footbal decisions (Run more, Haley, etc) but unfortunately, maybe he prefers to be more involved a la Jerry in Dallas and Dan in DC…that is a bad thing IMO.

Quite the long post for me, but this is the place to do it I suppose…plus there is no one here at my house that really would listen anyway other than my dog and she’s asleep right now too!

    Hang in there folks!

    Randy in RVA.

  196. Jim S. says:

I don’t think so. He’s legacy building. Unless your are talking about Art II.

  197. Bizrow says:

    Thanks, fixed

  198. Dave B says:

Another few more games like todays and you have to wonder if Dejan’s comments that Colbert and Tomlin are safe are going to be really true. It’s hard to keep the coach of a team that just had his team completely quit like this team did today.

The only guy who actually looked like he tried on D was Heyward. Troy I love the dude, but he can’t cover anyone anymore. Clark is horrid (Thomas isn’t any better). The entire defense looked terrible today. Offensively their offensive tackles are garbage, and they don’t have the speed to make any big plays. Haley should’ve been fired 2-3 weeks ago.

  199. Ghost says:

“Coach LeBeau, it’s time to get on with your life’s work.”
He’s 72. This has been his life’s work. He was good at it. But he’s been passed by. Now it’s time for him to enjoy the sunset of his life.

  200. Ghost says:

I’m should just copy and paste my comment from the Haley and LeBeau column. Lose Haley if you must. But the LeBeau era must be brought to a close. Blow up the defense and rebuild it. Rebuild it as a 4-3. It will take time, but time is what we have. The talent is not there and neither is a scheme fit for the 2013 NFL.

  201. Tim says:

The first time an athlete needs a coach to get them up for a game should be the last time an athlete plays sports. Played a lot of sports, never once needed a coach to get my adrelaline flowing. (Would’ve liked to been in the locker room when Herb Brooks gave his “Tonight, WE are the greatest hockey team in the world” speech. Gotta admit, that would’ve cranked it up a gear or two.) Prepared, sure. But amped and ready to go, not once. And who in the hell says they need that? If that is a players cop-out, then get rid of the player.

Did Steve McLendon and Jarvis Jones play today?

The worst call was not playing Jonathan Dwyer more often. I thought he was going to take a knee in the middle of his long run.

It’s too bad the Steelers don’t have you as a coach and GM. But then we’d miss out on a gem of a column such as this.

DK: I’d never have come up with the knee in the middle of the run. Better than all the tired tap-out jokes. Creativity rules.

  202. Jmie K says:

    Sydney, Australia

  203. 1:53 Corner, “We were in the European Cup and after we drew in Belgrade, I used to speak to my fiancé from Swansea on the phone and that used to get me away from football. “I had a funny feeling about the penalties and I was thinking about them this afternoon. Being in another final is a miracle. “There are two ways Gordon Strachan can look at the friendly. Germany Coach: Joachim Low Word ranking: 2 Group seeding: 1 Post-war record against Scotland: W3 D2 L2 Key players: They boast a host of stars from European champions Bayern Munich – including captain Philipp Lahm and Manuel Neuer, Hyde FC. Robert Ramshaw tries a through ball, Falkirk.
