Watching some of the Flyers game today and had a thought. Wouldn’t it constitute irony if Kimmo Timonen was a locker room cancer?

  4. Pucknutz says:

    Lets Go Pens!!

Whew…. I feel much better now!

  5. theplanisworking says:

Stole all my thunder……. but I appreciate this!

  6. Pucknutz says:

Well….. it’s nice to get some of that stuff outta the way ….
2 beers into this already waiting on an 8 pm game… thinking about a huge bowl of popcorn (2 paks) with “real” melted butter…… gotta make that happen…

  7. theplanisworking says:

Can anyone tell me, besides the knuckle-draggers, why a fight is necessary the first thing? How is this going to score goals, or contribute to the win?

    Neanderthals, unite !!!

  8. Pucknutz says:

Yea …. sorta strange … 3 seconds in.. not really a lot of bad blood here aka Flyers.. ??

  9. theplanisworking says:

The NHL will never be taken seriously as long as that crap continues…………

  10. Pucknutz says:

Nah …hockey is such a geographical thing …. south ain’t never gonna be a hotbed… nobody down south grows up with it. Ya, some sunbirds in Fla etc. but not the right demographic for long term fans.
That said – stupid fight- no real point that I can see.

  11. Sarah says:

The only use I’ve seen for a fight in my experience is to release tension.

  12. theplanisworking says:

    Good evening Sarah!

If they need to release tension 3 seconds into the game, they have problems. :)

  13. Pucknutz says:

Neal looks strong … guy just bounced off him … cool.

  14. Jandy says:

  15. Sarah says:

Oh agreed. Fights 3 seconds are about messages.
Sometimes they also serve to release tension though, and smooth out the rest of the game.

Like when the pens went to Boston the first time after Cooke concussed Savard.

  16. theplanisworking says:

What a way to announce your entrance!

  17. Jandy says:

lol I wasn’t happy with the Blue’s goal

  18. Pucknutz says:

Certainly expected something more erudite than poop.

  19. Jandy says:

    like maybe crap? ;)

  20. Jandy says:

    Sweet PP goal…malkin to Jussi

  21. Pucknutz says:

    Gettin better…. :)

  22. Pucknutz says:

Nice hit by Englannd – maybe a bit high …. looked good to me…

  23. DJ says:

Good thing we scored. I didn’t want to lament again Letang settling the puck between the circles before letting it rip.

Well, I guess I just did.

  24. Jandy says:

I was thinking the same thing, Puckers

  25. theplanisworking says:

I am telling Mother Superior on you!

  26. Jandy says:

    Neener, neener neener! :P

  27. Wild Bill says:

Niskanen is a mess tonight. And Sid doesn’t seem like himself.

  28. theplanisworking says:

Crosby has looked lost in recent games.
    Any word of any injury??

  29. Jandy says:

    These guys are snakebitten!

  30. Wild Bill says:

Not heard anything, but neither the NSA nor the CIA know anything about Penguin injuries as well.

  31. Jandy says:

    hey hey it’s Brandecita!

  32. theplanisworking says:

  33. theplanisworking says:

……who obviously stubbed her toe coming into the blog……

  34. DJ says:

I commented upon that the last game. One sign is usually his face-offs. He’s not been good lately in the offensive and defensive zones.

Speaking of the PP, maybe it’s just me, but it seems like we’ve lost the 10 draws. Precious time being frittered away.

  35. scapper says:

    Thank you. I mean, c’mon…Chemo Timonen…locker room cancer…Gold Jerry…Gold!

  36. Brandie says:

It was dark coming into the blog! Dealing with the fall out of the PSU loss as well as wondering how to get Malkin going?

  37. Wild Bill says:

Nah, she’s watching Malkin look brilliant one second and boneheaded the next.

  38. Wild Bill says:

Not the Lions finest hour today.

  39. Brandie says:

My kingdom for consistency, oh Natural Billy!

  40. theplanisworking says:

    The Muppet Kingdom?

  41. Dave G says:

Waiting for Malkin to win this thing in a shootout.

  42. Wild Bill says:

One thing about this game, the Pens have hit more guys tonight in any two minutes than they did in the entire Rangers game.

  43. Dave G says:

    Fluery with yet another oopsie.

  44. Brandie says:

    And All of Its Inhabitants!

  45. Jandy says:

who paid off the &^%&&%% refs?

  46. Dave G says:

Not a pure oopsie, though. Slightly deflected.

  47. Bizrow says:

    Still time to go

  48. Jandy says:

Hey Biz!! Good to see you!

  49. Bizrow says:

Good to see you too, Jandy

    Hope things are well

Things are fine here, more focused on the Pitt game

  50. Jandy says:

If it wasn’t for Fleury, it would be at least 6-1

  51. Jandy says:

    All good, Biz…hope Pitt wins!

  52. Dave G says:

FLEURY! Amazing save on a two-on-one!

  53. theplanisworking says:

When Sid and Geno are on, Pens look good.
But teams are figuring how to slow them, and we look awful.

Bylsma needs to figure out how to solve this.
    Earn your money, Dan.

  54. Wild Bill says:

Agree Hippo, but I also think that having Neal and Bennett back will soon pay dividends as well.

  55. theplanisworking says:

I sure hope so, Geno is lost without Neal……..

  56. Bizrow says:

    Its early

    Many miles to go

    Pens will make the playoffs

Not sweating yet, from this seat in the peanut gallery

  57. theplanisworking says:

I hope your seat is comfy in retirement. :)

  58. I’ll say it wasn’t the Nittany Lions’ finest hour, since this was Minnesota’s fourth straight win and its first over the Lions in 9 years.

  59. Well, the Flyers beat Edmonton yesterday 4-2, but then, even the worst teams are bound to win sometime.

  60. Well, at least James Neal is back, having sufficiently recovered from injuries suffered, as rumor would have it, while participating in a whiffle ball game.
