  3. JohninOshkosh says:

This is going to be a fun game to watch. I know the ACC/Big Ten Challenge is an ESPN creation but it is, nevertheless, a fun idea.

  4. Wild Bill says:

    Let’s go Lions!

  5. likeabugonarug says:

Especially when it forces a game like this. You know they weren’t going to meet otherwise, at least not until the football series has its couple games. Probably close at half, but I think Pitt wins by 12-15.

    Kevin

  6. theplanisworking says:

    BOO! ;)

  7. Brandie says:

    Go Nittany Lions!

  8. Brandie says:

    You tell em’ Erratic Billy!

  9. JohninOshkosh says:

I know next to nothing about the politics of the situation, but I always thought it would be entertaining, not to mention lucrative, if Philly’s Big 5 joined with Pitt, PSU and Duquesne to have a yearly 8 team tournament in November or December. They could alternate the finals at Consul, Wells Fargo and Bryce Jordan.

  10. Milo Hamilton says:

Geno Thorpe in for Penn St.. Imagine Shaler’s front line with Thorpe and Pitt tight end JP Holtz.

  11. theplanisworking says:

    BOO! ;)

  12. Milo Hamilton says:

Neither team shooting 30%. Ugly basketball.

  13. Brandie says:

That sounds like a fun time!

  14. Brandie says:

Is there I hippov shaped ghost on the blog?

  15. Brandie says:

    It’s raining’ typos!

  16. JohninOshkosh says:

Pitt with 7 players that have scored (with only 15 points scored) as Dixon loves the player rotation.

FC in the house! Did not know he was a Stater.

  17. theplanisworking says:

Well, game just ruined for me…………… Coooooooooooonelly’s puss all over the TV. At least he didnt have a drink in hand……..

  18. theplanisworking says:

    Hippo-shaped ghost!

    HA!

  19. Milo Hamilton says:

Glad I switched back to hockey. Having trouble deciding which game’s worse.

  20. JohninOshkosh says:

    Tim Frazier is a baller.

  21. Lad 9 says:

    Hi Frank. Lets go Pitt!!!!

  22. JohninOshkosh says:

    Not a foul by Wright.

  23. JohninOshkosh says:

Dixon has to call a timeout. Penn State up 26-21 with 4:16 left in first half.

  24. Lad 9 says:

Not even close. These zebras are in no danger of being asked to do a final four.

  25. theplanisworking says:

    Well, that stunk.

Pitt with horrible shooting in 1st half.
    Too many turnovers.
    Team looked lethargic at times.
Frazier for Penn State can play.
    Oh, refs stink too.

Even with all that going against them, Pitt switches to the 2-3 zone, overcomes a 7 point deficit, and only trails by 2. Better shooting, and good d will result in a win.

  26. JohninOshkosh says:

Pitt goes on 7-2 run in waning minutes of half but still down by 2, 30-28, at intermission. Patterson made a sweet move with 3 seconds left to get into the paint but missed a lazy jumper to tie it.

  27. Milo Hamilton says:

Yankees have signed Jacoby Ellsbury. So that’s why they had to clear Chris Stewart’s salary.

  28. Brandie says:

Way to han in there Nittany Lions! :-)

  29. Brandie says:

Hang…Not Han, as in Solo! Sheesh!

  30. theplanisworking says:

    +1

Does this mean Bye Bye Cano?

  31. theplanisworking says:

    Hang Solo?

  32. JohninOshkosh says:

Hey Queen B. Hope you are doing well this fine evening. Well, not really fine here as I can hear frozen pellets hitting my bedroom window. Good night for the winter sports (although Pens game is not on national TV).

  33. Milo Hamilton says:

    Hope not.

  34. JohninOshkosh says:

Oh, I guess Zanna did dress tonight.

  35. 21sthebest says:

    I knew that was coming.

  36. JohninOshkosh says:

Saw a student in the Zoo behind Penn State’s basket wearing a Detroit Tigers hat. Guess he didn’t get Dejan’s memo.

  37. theplanisworking says:

Was he responsible for the 200 posts? ;)

  38. JohninOshkosh says:

Zanna must have had a Red Bull at half. Has come out looking for the basket down low.

  39. Jandy says:

    Yeah Milo was right tho…

  40. theplanisworking says:

    WOW !!!
Did I just see Zanna strip, steal and score?

  41. JohninOshkosh says:

Zanna coast to coast after the turnover and time out State as Pitt takes a 42-41 lead !

  42. JohninOshkosh says:

Nice movement by the tall drink as well !

  43. theplanisworking says:

    Zanna playing like a beast.
    That is all.

  44. JohninOshkosh says:

Holy cats, Zanna is having an unbelievable second half. Has taken charge of this game

51-47 Pitt at the 10:38 mark.

  45. theplanisworking says:

    :D

  46. JohninOshkosh says:

Time for Wright, Johnson and Patterson to step up to Zanna’s example.

  47. theplanisworking says:

If Pitt could make layups, they would have a double digit lead……….

  48. JohninOshkosh says:

Methinks this game comes down to the final shot.

  49. theplanisworking says:

Great comeback win tonight by Pitt!
Zanna played like he was possessed tonight.
Defense picked it up in the second half.

This was actually good that this type of game happened.
Pitt learned it needs to play 2 halves to be successful.

    Pitt improves to 8-0.
    LETS GO PITT !!!

  50. JohninOshkosh says:

It’s over at the Pete. Panthers win 78-59 as they drop 50 on the Lions in the second stanza. Pitt was only 2 of 11 from the three point line. Pitt shot well from the charity stripe going 28 out of 35 and hitting key ones as the game entered the final minutes. Bodes well for them in the future tough, close conference games.

Zanna and Patterson led the Panthers in scoring with 16 points each. Cam Wright contributed 11.

Sorry, I sort of dominated the comments. Hope more are here for Friday’s game at the Pete against Loyola Marymount.

  51. JohninOshkosh says:

    *78-69. Jandyitis.

  52. theplanisworking says:

Its ok……… I was there with ya.

Guess we need to hang our heads in shame?

  53. JohninOshkosh says:

Neither of us mentioned the Tigers bullpen, though. Have a good one, Planner.

  54. theplanisworking says:

Yeah, dont want to incur any wrath………..

    Night Oshie.
