    No more injuries, please

  5. theplanisworking says:

I say 26………. takes him out til the Olympics.
Actually, he should get 3 to 5……….. in jail.

  6. Pucknutz says:

Just had time to scroll through the early Java thread – lotta great posts on the subject there ! (yours included Plan :) )
Bottom line seems to be that the NHL really needs to clean up it act.
I have been on the fence about outlawing fighting completely. Never did like the send the goon out type of fights – did not really mind too much the lets call them “instant reaction” type fights between two guys with some hockey skills.
But , I have have been slowly slipping off the fence. And it’s not just the Orpik incident that has pushed me that way. Way too many chances for serious injury. Hockey is a tough enough game – injuries are gonna happen in the normal course of play. Why take a chance on getting key players hurt ?
Players and Owners will get used to it. When was the last time ya saw a bench clearing brawl ???

  7. theplanisworking says:

I just watched PTI, have read many sites, and outside of Pittsburgh, this has little traction, which is quite sad.

DK has been beating the drum, but the neanderthals are just too numerous. I dont see meaningful change until someone gets paralyzed, or killed.

Thanks for the shoutout, Puckz ! :)

  8. Pucknutz says:

    Ya Plan, it is sad!
DK beat the living He$$ outta the drum but unfortunately he is going to be just shrugged off as a local “homer” . (Which we all know he certainly is not)
Wow,the guy wrote one of the strongest no punches pulled columns I have ever seen. Shoulda been linked all over the intertubes – maybe it was – I have no data on that. Still would be shrugged off.
Meaningful change ? Maybe, just maybe, if someone dies, God forbid, maybe.
Love the game (baseballs ok) have been a bit “old school” for a while – but it IS time for a change!

  9. Pucknutz says:

Anybody just watch Savern “grill” Errey?
Poor Bob was sweatin bullets trying to be diplomatic !
    Good job Bobby!!!

  10. Pucknutz says:

What I mean “good job” – easy to read between the lines ! Loved it !

  11. theplanisworking says:

    Evening, Sarah. :)

  12. theplanisworking says:

There might not be enough players to do that if this keeps up.

reverend, any word from the Winter Meetings? Being you are “dahn Sahth” as they say in Pittsburghese.

  13. Bizrow says:

Check out Travis’s blog for info on the Winter Meetings

  14. Sarah says:

There is some seriously great stuff on Daily Show making BOS look like the whining pansy hypocrites they are. I’ll get more links.

  15. Brandie says:

We must protect the Consol Dome!

  16. Eric Bowser says:

    What a depleted lineup

    1st: Kunitz – Crosby – Dupuis
    2nd: Jokinen – Malkin – Megna
    3rd: Conner – Sutter – Vitale
    4th: Adams – Sill – Kobasew

    1st: Maatta – Letang
    2nd: Niskanen – Engelland
    3rd: Despres – Bortuzzo

    Fleury starter

  17. theplanisworking says:

    Brand(ie) Max!

  18. Eric Bowser says:

    That intro was lame….

    bah hum bug

  19. hockeymonster says:

    The hell is Engo doin?

  20. Sarah says:

Playing like crap. It’s his job. Endorsed by Disco.

  21. theplanisworking says:

  22. theplanisworking says:

    Oh come on, Scrooge McPenguin!
    Loved that intro.
    Was playing Christmas songs earlier………..

  23. Brandie says:

Thank you Sarah. This kind of revenge for the sake of revenge must stop before someone dies.

  24. Eric Bowser says:

Nothing says excitement like Christmas music in a hockey venue. lol

  25. theplanisworking says:

    Scrooge! ;)

  26. Court Jester says:

Send out Happy Gilmore so he can try to stab someone with his skate!

  27. Brandie says:

To which Bettman would have a lame response!

  28. Jandy says:

    + many

  29. Pucknutz says:

Pitchers Duel as Potash calls it.
    Couple questions bout the Jackets…..

Ya think the move to the East is going to or already is helping the franchise?
On that note – attendance – getting better or what? (I attempted to find att figures but got lazy and quit, I know they are there somewhere , found em before, but 3 tries and I quit)
Possible good OH – PA rivalry there down the road ?
Northern team – NHL need this franchise to be successful?
Ya, old ?,s but for some reason I like this team.

  30. Jandy says:

    Hey hey lunatics :)

  31. Eric Bowser says:

You would think Mario Lemieux would want the best sheet of ice in the NHL at CEC, instead they have the worst. That has to change.

  32. Pucknutz says:

Right you are Brandie —- the cynic in me says someone will die – very sad it is.

  33. theplanisworking says:

I like their Arena District in Downtown Columbus.
The team will benefit from moving to the East, but it will tale a lot of time.

  34. Pucknutz says:

Ya Eric – but I have still not heard any kind of GOOD explanation for the bad ice! Googled my fingers to death and all I found was a bunch of mealy mouth BS. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM ????

  35. Jandy says:

Looks as though Sid has lost his mojo…

  36. theplanisworking says:

I have always maintained that getting that “super duper newfangled” Green rating has something to do with it.

Others have said it is because of union labor.

Others have said they skimp on machinery.

    Its just embarrassing.

  37. theplanisworking says:

    I’M SCIRE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  38. Jandy says:

  39. Eric Bowser says:

Go to net and good things happen.

  40. Dom says:

    Goal! Malkin is the man

  41. Eric Bowser says:

sure would be nice for someone to investigate…. *COUGH COUGH*

  42. Pucknutz says:

Cut in like an alpine skier – Geno did – per Mr Errey.
    Sorta like that description!

  43. Jandy says:

Poor Eric, maybe some Starbucks would help that bad cough ;)

  44. scapper says:

Last time I saw that goal Jordan Staal was scoring shorthanded in the 09 Finals. Looked exactly like it. Just beautiful.

  45. Jandy says:

But Dom, I thought Fleury was the Man?

  46. Jandy says:

You have quite a good memory scapper :)

  47. Pucknutz says:

Ya we need another good hard hittin CRIME story!!! LOL

  48. theplanisworking says:

What did I have for lunch yesterday? ;)

  49. Pucknutz says:

I think I think I remember that one.

  50. Travis has great updates. Too far south for me, plansky.

  51. Dom says:

Yeah, you’re right. I don’t know what came over me.

  52. Jandy says:

    silly you! ;)

  53. Jandy says:

    edible food?

  54. theplanisworking says:

    : thwap :

  55. Brandie says:

Good to see the good guys up 1 to 0! Must maintain increased net presence!

  56. Brandie says:

Good Evening Blog Mamma, Brother Scapper, Nutzie, Sarah, Hip Hop Hippo, Bowser from Sha-Na-Na and Revvie and others!

  57. Jandy says:

    Howdie Brandecita!

  58. Jandy says:

    muahahahahaaa!! :P

  59. theplanisworking says:

This clown says Thornton should only get 10 games, minus 2 for “good behavior”.
THIS is why the NHL will never evolve.

  60. theplanisworking says:

    Hip-Hop Hippo.
    Priceless !

  61. Brandie says:

Throw the dang book at him. Stuff like this ius such a turn off for the casual fan to constantly see the game evolve into such knuckle dragging, monosyllabic grunting, booger eating savagery!

  62. hockeymonster says:

    1st time offender?

  63. Bizrow says:

  64. hockeymonster says:

    Sounds like my family gatherings…

  65. Brandie says:

    Invite me next time!

  66. Jandy says:

    WOW! Sill!

  67. Brandie says:

    Enough with the dayum fighting!

  68. Brandie says:

Poor kid hurt his face crashing into Sill’s hand repeatedly!

  69. theplanisworking says:

Yeah, lets have things decided by a Hip-Hop Hippo dance-off. ;)

  70. Brandie says:

You just got served! I think all things should be solved like by dance offs, like in Breakin’ and Breakin’ 2, Electric Bogaloo!

  71. Brandie says:

I agree. You drive that point hone even more by sounding like that wise old sage, Yoda! He knew lots about the destructive nature of untamed fear and anger.

  72. theplanisworking says:

Thats what happens when I dance. My bones be-a breakin’.

  73. Brandie says:

    Me or Happy Gilmore?

  74. Jandy says:

Poor kid, my size 9 wides ;)

  75. Jandy says:

    WOOT WOOT!!!!

  76. theplanisworking says:

    MATTA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    DUPER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  77. Brandie says:

  78. hockeymonster says:

We can have dance off on center lane drive.

  79. theplanisworking says:

    Wrong Day …………… ;)

  80. Brandie says:

    Crazy Pinball Goal!

  81. Brandie says:

Pittsburgh Style! I’ll sell the Pierogies, Jumbo Sammiches, and Chipped Choppped Ham!

  82. Brandie says:

Any day is a Camel Day!

  83. Brandie says:

As long as Dejan helps judge! Blog has a real Soul Train vibe tonight!

  84. Jandy says:

read it again, darling Hipposter ;)

  85. theplanisworking says:

    Love Roller Coaster, Peeps!

  86. theplanisworking says:

    A,B,C,D,E,F, guh !!! ;)

  87. Barb says:

Another good night for hockey. Glad to see the good guys are winning.

  88. Brandie says:

Plan is bustin’ out the 70’s. Our 1 man Funk Band! Rubber Plan Man!

  89. theplanisworking says:

Welcome to Brandie’s Hip-Hop Dance Off.

  90. Barb says:

Good evening Sistah Cita and Hip Hop Hippo (that’s a keeper).

  91. Brandie says:

Man That Sounds like a 1970’s Blaxploitation Movie title!

  92. Brandie says:

That’s how we roll in The Consol Done!

  93. Barb says:

OMG I didn’t think of that when I typed it. Almost fell of the bed laughing so hard.

  94. Barb says:

I have a question. Since Neal was suspended he can’t be at the arena right?

  95. Jandy says:

Well, poop. Fleury lost his SO

  96. Barb says:

He got overly excited at the prospect of scoring an empty netter.

  97. Brandie says:

Best goal horn in hockey! Good guys chalk up another win!

  98. theplanisworking says:

  99. theplanisworking says:

I am gonna Hip Hop to bed.
    Nice to see a win.
    Nicer to see no injuries!

    Night Peeps.

  100. Brandie says:

Who would have ever thought…Blaxploitation on a hockey thread! Guess that’s what happens when you step into The Consol Dome!

  101. Eric Bowser says:

Fleury was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO close to scoring a goal. Then Crosby out on the ice to “protect” a lead and boom Jackets ruin the shutout.

  102. Brandie says:

Sweet Dreams Rubber Plan Man! Gonna Snooze Myself!

    Night Yinz!

  103. Drew71 says:

So this imperfectly structured, injury riddled team has won six of seven.

  104. scapper says:

Not, it ain’t memory. It’s my pathetic self having re-watched those ’09 highlights way too many times in the past 4+ years. That Staal goal is a top 10 all-time Pens goal in terms of importance. Beat ol’ Niedemeyer on that one!

  105. Bizrow says:

  106. hockeymonster says:

Engo had more to do with that goal. Not sure you can pin this one on sid.

  107. Bizrow says:

Too many typos if I try to type it out.

Not much going on, on the surface at the Winter Meetings

  108. And the one they lost was in the last 2 minutes.

  109. Bizrow says:

    And its only December

  110. Stuart says:

Did Engo get an assist on the Columbus goal?

I only saw 2 periods but thought Bortuzzo played well. He did look a little gassed, another argument for playing him occasionally.
