    Corey Perry-Ryan Getzlaf-James Neal
    Matt Duchene-Jonathan Toews-John Tavares

    Corey Crawford
    Mike Smith
    Roberto Luongo

Stay tuned for Team USA :)

    • Well….I cannot agree on your list of Gs, monster….
I believe it’s Luongo, Price, and 3 is open.
Doubt they take a chance on MAF or Crawfish…..but who knows.

      • Price is ok but what has he really done? I would take Crawflower ahead if him. And Luongo seems more beatable to me now. But your the keeper of nets…

        • I agree Price has never beaten anyone when it counts. And Luongo is Captain Jittes when it counts.
If it were up to me I dunno what I’d do. I’d like to say MAF actually based on recent work, but I think we all know what might happen.

I just think Canada will go Luongo/Price/someone.

I guess you could make a case Crawfish has accomplished more. But really, in net is a weakness for our friends up North.

          • ER, Jitters.

          • Sarah, I too would like to say the Flower based on recent work, and I think I will say it. I am cautiously optimistic that MAFs mental ghosts are in the past. IMHO he seems to bounce back quicker after giving up a soft one. If he stays out from behind the net it would make me real happy. LOL
I think he deserves a shot… actually like to see some pressure on him before the playoffs- see what happens. Get that big “regular season great -playoffs choke” weight hanging over his head cut loose.
            We shall see.

  2. LETS GO PENS !!!

  4. I have not visited as much as I have in past years, which no doubt has contributed to the site’s success. But I want to take a moment to say:

Merry Christmas to DK – He is the best in the business.

Merry Christmas to those who post and provide me with such great insight. Most passionate fans I’ve experienced in my 61 years.

And finally, I live near Baltimore. I say Merry Christmas to Ravens’ fans who vilify my Steelers golf bag with intent. On Christmas I heart you…

  5. I have only one word for tonight’s game and it’s a code word.

  6. Let’s add Dupuis to the list. Right knee. That one has the potential to be serious.

  7. Good lord, Dupes, Sid, now the ref???

  8. Gah. Did Borts get a stick in the face right before that goal?

  9. Sid back on the bench.

  10. Sid Back — Whew…

  11. Sid is back but I’m not convinced everything is OK.

  12. Some guys are very particular about their skates & Matt Niskanen has really been having trouble in that area the last two games. He’s left the ice 5 or 6 times to have them worked on. I’m just hoping that’s what Sid’s issue was as well.

  13. The ref is back now too, Dean Morton. But much like the Canadian Olympic team, I really don’t care about him.

  14. How much hacking and whacking has Crosby had to put up with so far? And it’s still the 1st period.

    • True — now we segue into the fighting – no fighting — code — endless argument . :)

      • Nah not saying that at all. Difference between physical play and gooning it up.
Pens most physical players are often their stars.
        Bad recipe.

        • Agree w/ya Sarah – no need to “goon” it up. Actually Sid can take care of himself, ya lot of whacking and hacking but nothing “dirty” so far. Mr Lemieux was a recipient of much of that and it just seemed to just put it in the “pi$$ed off gear and make fools out of em. Sid has that gear!!!
But…. if someone takes a nasty run at Sid… well….

          • I think we will see teams use this pattern v the Pens more often and esp in playoffs. Take liberties withbCrosby and Malkin, get them off their game. Pay no price.

  15. My list of players I hate are 1. Subban 2. Marchand and 3. Neal. Any other candidates?

  16. Senators initiated almost all the physical confrontations in that period. Thought Pens were terribly lacking in the first 10-12 minutes of the period.

If you see players hitting your captain and superstar, maybe you could do likewise. Jason Spezza had a relatively easy period compared to what Crosby went through with the stick work.

  17. Meant Chris Neil. Just to clarify.

  18. Speaking of a Neal, has Disco found a way to combine Crosby and Neal yet?

  19. Ugh they showed the per injury again…..looked MCL-ish….

  20. I believe the Pens started Christmas vacation Saturday evening.

    • The Pens broke their win streak last night which they were eventually apt to do, although they’lascall hopefully end the year with a win on Friday over Carolina. It’s too bad that Pascal Dupuis is out hurt, but they’re still 27-11-1 first in their division. And so, have a Happy Holiday Season!

  21. Anybody shedding a tear for the soon to be late, Candlestick Park ?

    • Yep. Oakland coliseum too.

Good , prime swampland, both of them………..

    • Oshie, Merry Christmas to you.

You were quite the world traveller this weekend……… Bucks game Saturday night, Steelers game yesterday. Both your teams won…………. Bucks didnt do themselves any favors though.

      • Thanks, Plan. To you and yours as well. Bucks are kinda fun to watch, actually. I got a lot of patience in me due to the Buccos. Their cheerleaders were wearing their cute Christmas outfits, so that didn’t suck.

Was hoping to meet Dejan but he wasn’t in GB very long.

    • Candlestick – yes and no. Iconic old place for sure. Never understood why it was sooo cold in the summer… was in SF one time — rode around the park and got a feel for the SF summer weather … got it.
Loved it back in the day when the Gunner would sorta “whine” about Candlestick fog and wind and cold.
Sorta like the Igloo – loved it – but it was time to move on. (still do wish they coulda found some way to use the shell. loooked good) . But hey, time to move on — my grandchildren are prolly gonna be sayin the same thing bout PNC! :)

  22. Off the subject for a moment. Last game at Candlestick Park. Jerry Rice & Steve Young are there. Even Willie Mays is there. But who isn’t ? You guessed it, Joe Montana. Guess the Niners didn’t write the check. He’s so predictable.

  23. Blah. Our PP is hurting us.

  24. I’m really upset with the liberties allowed. TIme to get some grittiness in our game tonight.

  25. If they ever get back to something resembling full health, Harry Zolnierczyk & Zack Sill both deserve a spot over Chuck Kobasew.

  26. You get the feeling if they can just get one the floodgates might open.

  27. So, Jandy, is Mischa getting a big haul tomorrow night ?

    • Oh yeah! Not too overly much from me, but the family all spoils her. We got her a Sophia the 1st soft doll, with a dress for her to wear that matches the doll’s dress. We also put money in a savings account for her. She’s too easy to spoil, she has a sunny disposition :)

  28. The Sen’s PK is ranked 25th, our PP is 2nd. We’ve had 3 PP’s. We have NOTHING to show for it. smh

  29. 0 for 5…. not much to say about that.

No Malkin, Dupuis, Bennett, Glass, or Megna and it shows.

Dupuis injury looks to be one of those long-term types…. knees shouldn’t bend like that.

That’s ok because Shero can just recall another defenseman and get closer to his dream of a game with 18 skaters, all defensemen. Becoming a joke more and more with this team’s draft record at forward.

  30. I hope no one is actually suggesting the Pens might lose a game?!

  31. Dumoulin needs to occasionally not miss the net. Rebound chances are there if they can keep shooting and there are plays behind their d.

  32. I swear I just saw a State Farm Discount Double Check commercial with Matt Flynn.

  33. At least it’s not a heartbreaker like the other one they lost this month.

  34. No, I really don’t expect the Pens to win every game, but this was a real stinker.

  35. Winning 12 of the past 13 before tonight is miraculous, considering all the injuries/suspensions.

Cant win them all, but egg-laying isnt a good thing any night.
Oh well, the break will give them some rest.

    Merry Christmas,
    Happy Holidays,
    Happy Hanakuh,
    Happy Kwanzaa,
    Happy Eid al-Fitr,
    Happy Festivus,
or whatever greeting you would like, and wouldnt be offended by……….. to all the blog’s denizens.

may your stockings be full, and the Little Ones spoiled.
