  1. I hope Luongo plays.

I hope Neal gets 3 and Letang gets 2.

  2. Man I hate west coast swings. Usually see one period before bed.

But, if the Pens are going to go all that distance, they might as well win.

    • Ya ,me two—- see anything after he first through my eyelids !!! lol
I like to see the West teams but just don’t make it.
Detroit and Columbus are certainly glad to be in the East now. Fans espc.

      LETS GO PENS!!

  3. Does anyone know what brought on Letang’s infection ?

  5. Pretty cool – 7 Pens (so far) playing in the Olympics !!! Plus 2 coaches ! Believe Shero has a piece of the action also.
So far I say – injuries ya know.
Real Deal and the Flower have the stats – 4 guys from one team – maybe too much.
Olympics are gonna be a fun watch – gonna have to root for the last man (men) standing!
Hey DK – we may be a little jaded- but deep down we know we are blessed!

  6. Is there anyone else out there who hates that NHL players are in the Olympics? Anyone? [Tumbleweeds....sound of empty wind blowing...crickets...]

I wish no Pens were going. In fact, I wouldn’t mind mild ankle sprains for every one of them about three days before the trip to Sochi. Then they could all stay home and rest and not be a part of it.

Oh well, I’ll be rooting for a final with the likes of Sweden and the Czech Republic…or Finland or someone like that. Let the Big Three go home medal-less. Olympic hockey was so much better when you didn’t really know the players.

  7. JohninO

    Like the avatar. A lot

  8. Ya , lets go back to the days when the college boys were playing the Eastern Block “amateurs”

  9. Good evening…

I’d like to thank Steve Yzerman and Team Canada for not picking Fleury, Neal, and St. Louis as it helps Team USA win gold. Seriously… if the selection process was serious about taking the best players, who selects Rick Nash?

    What an overrated bum!

Yet, the inclusion of Kunitz is the bad move? Ok Canada….

    ————-

No Engelland on defense…. CELEBRATION TIME!

    Orpik – Despres
    Maatta – Niskanen
    Scuderi – Letang

  10. Seeing the harmonica was a first for the anthems…….

  11. All time leading goal scorer in Canucks history is Markus Naslund – 346. Glad we could help.

    • Alex Stojanov we hardly knew ye.

    • hated that deal (Naslund for Stojanov) when it happened and really hated it over the years.

      • He always seemed like an all around classy guy. I like Craig Patrick, that might have been his worst.

        • Funny how Patrick had his best and worst trades within 5 short years of each other.

The Jagr “trade” was pretty bad also.

          • 1. Naslund for Stojanov
            2. Sticking with Tom Barrasso, not paying Patrick Lalime.
            3. Craig Hillier as number one pick (23rd)…. what a horrible goalie.
            4. Robert Dome as number one pick (17th)…. didn’t bring this kid along right.
            5. Acquiring Frantisek Kucera… what a terrible defenseman
            6. Trading Jagr & Kucera for Beech, Sivek and Lupaschuk
            7. Refusing to trade Hrdina to Caps for Zubrus – ah, the story on this one is great.

The drafts from 94-98 were horrendous, that’s why the team had to crash and burn until Whitney ’02, Fleury ’03, Malkin ’04, and Crosby ’05.

        • I appreciate the work Craig Patrick did from 90-94 but afterwards, blah.

  12. Gibbons is taking advantage of his opportunity.

  13. That was impressive by the Hobbit.
Beat an Olympian for the Canucks too.

  14. Sid’s hurt. Right foot.

  15. Everyone’s in bed. Cup of hot chocolate. Leftover Christmas candy cane to stir. West coast Pens game. Mike Lange.

    Priceless.

  16. Why, with the Olympics coming up, do I see the Snickers commercial about “Win One for Mother Russia”, when Malkin scores?

  17. Eddie Lack is no Eddie Shack.

  18. I really like Deryk Engelland, the 4th line right winger.

  19. how many chances does Letang need…. ugh

  20. Letang? Don’t worry everyone, he’s doing just fine.

  21. Sid get an assist on that ?

    • Crosby’s work defensively has taken a step back this year. He’s made some really bad plays like that one more than a few times and too many times caught gliding back into zone when other team scores.

      • Agreed. It’s almost like Mario told him he needs to pick his spots moving forward — due to injuries.

I’ll be looking up Sid’s faceoff stats as well. I think he’s taken a step back there as well. He’s much higher off the ice and is using a side swipe move now. Too many pops on the jaw is my theory.

  22. As I was stating above, too many pops to Sid’s jaw on FOs.

He’s 51% this year to 54% last year on FOs.

  23. Quiet room for Letang.

  24. So glad I stayed up.

  25. What a waste of time watching this joke of a response by Penguins after Letang gets hit in the head. After the failed and lame PP… Pens didn’t respond finishing any hits and Canucks just got all the momentum and boom, 2 goals.

  26. Now that’s a response…. 4-4 game!!!

  27. The sheer arrogance of our organ-I-zation in scoring those last 2 goals.

  28. Sweet two points.

  29. Crosby stunk the joint for two periods, didn’t really do much positive in third period and then boom. Game-tying goal with minute to go and then game-winning goal in shootout. Not a bad day for someone who was below the line for him.
