  1. Thundercrack says:

Listening to the game , it sounds like Matt Hague can’t field the first base position either.

  2. Jim S. says:

  3. Off to great start in the field. 2 E’s already. But, wait for it, “it is Spring Training”.

  4. JohninOshkosh says:

I was watching the Dodgers game yesterday. It was on MLBN but was being broadcasted by the new Dodgers television network. That network, I forget its name, is telecasting every Dodgers spring training game.

Never understood why the other regional networks don’t do that. What else does Root sports or, here, Fox Sports Wisconsin, have to telecast, especially on weekday afternoons ?

Orel Hersheiser is a good analyst, by the way. I think him and Charlie Steiner are going to be a good pairing.

  5. Brandie says:

Revvie there is only one person who is perfection and you work on his behalf. :) The rest of us are mere mortals in perpetual spring training and error filled.

  6. Jim S. says:

Hershiser is very good. So, is Charlie Steiner. Remember the old ESPN commercial with Charlie and Evander Hollifield? For some reason, Charlie was running from Evander. I just remember Evander saying, “Come out and get your whupping, Charlie.” He was hiding under a desk.

  7. Brandie says:

    That spot rocked!!!!!

  8. JohninOshkosh says:

Classic. Charlie had said Hollifield wasn’t even the best fighter from Georgia, or something like that.

I think everyone loves to beat up ESPN, but their hiring of that AD/PR agency in the nineties help build that network to monolithic proportions.

  9. JohninOshkosh says:

How do, Ms. Brandie? Happy Saturday to you.

  10. Jim S. says:

    Hey, Brandie. Happy Saturday!

  11. Jim S. says:

Great recollection. Yes, those commercials have been great forever.

  12. JohninOshkosh says:

Steiner had an afternoon show on MLB channel on XM years ago. He talked to beat reporters. Not sure if Dejan ever did that one. It was a great show.

  13. Jim S. says:

    Jeanmar getting it done today.

Interesting dilemma coming up with that ‘pen. Who stays? Who goes? Who gets traded?

Stolmy almost has to make it. Jeanmar has to make it, IMO. Volquez is a lock. Locke, is probably not a lock. Vin Man could be on the fence.

No room at present for Wilk and Stink, Jr.

Tough decisions, but the kind you want.

  14. Jim S. says:

I watched the Dodgers-DBacks ST game the other night. I still marvel at Vin Scully. That is not what 86 is supposed to be like.

  15. Jim S. says:

His name is Martin. Russell Martin.

  16. Lad 9 says:

    The. Best. Evvvvvver.

  17. 21sthebest says:

  18. Poppycock. We’re all beautiful, smart, healthy and wealthy in His eyes. Just have to believe it.

  19. Thundercrack says:

It is probably cheaper to broadcast a poker tournament during weekday afternoons.

  20. Jim S. says:

He struggled, 21. But, I believe the pedigree is much stronger than for Vin. I think he stays.
