  1. Brandie says:

Pirates vs. Orioles Part Two. We shall see it offends and pit hint have it today. If not…get the pitch forks and torches ready.

  2. JohninOshkosh says:

Three weeks from today, the Pirates are at PNC against the Cubs for the season opener !

  3. Jandy says:

    Wow.

  4. Would you translate that second sentence please? I think it’s in Russian.

    :o

  5. Jandy says:

    I was patiently waiting ;)

  6. Brandie says:

Oh good grief. I am not e en sure what I meant…probably we shall see if the pitching and offense have it today. Revvie is my gobbeldy gook defense.

  7. Brandie says:

And not e en…should be even. Sorry posts are beginning to look like a ransom note.

  8. Jandy says:

    More coffee!!!!!!!!!

  9. Ransom note. Good one, Brandiskaya.

    :D

  10. tdb1977 says:

And I cannot wait to be there. The count down clock went up on the white board the first day I came back from vacation in October after the season had ended, and now its down to 21 mere days. This winter has been too long without meaningful baseball games!

  11. tdb1977 says:

If its some ransom note, shouldn’t it be letters and words from different articles and titles from different magazines to spell the message you want to get across?? :)

  12. Jandy says:

    test

  13. theplanisworking says:

    Fail.

  14. theplanisworking says:

I don’t think you would get any ransom.

See you guys later this week.
Be good, or Tooty-Pooty will come get you.
Much more important than that Ukraine stuff……..

  15. Jandy says:

it was so quiet on the blog for so long, I thought it was broken…seriously…

  16. Jandy says:

Check in before the end of the week!

  17. theplanisworking says:

    Another fail. ;)
    Have fun breaking the blog……………

no bold reamings yet……… maybe it is broken………

  18. Jandy says:

take care and good luck with everything :*

  19. Jandy says:

    Bonds is an a**

  20. JohninOshkosh says:

    I’m jealous tdb…

Then again, I got food poisoning Saturday night and, right now, I’m jealous of the sweet embrace of death.

  21. Dom says:

I cant imagine that he or McGuire ever get in.

  22. NMR says:

    Russell Martin is a man.

  23. Nate83 says:

I didn’t know his gender was in question.

  24. Jandy says:

    Another homer…a big man ;)

  25. pattonbb says:

I think Bonds will get in. McGuire won’t.

  26. Jandy says:

ouchies, Oshie. That stinks. What did you have that gave you food poisoning???

  27. Nate83 says:

What he gave them last year was nice and I would be content with a repeat this season but it would be a giant boost for this club if offensively they got the Dodger Martin instead of the Yankee Martin. I’m not expecting it because catchers careers usually go in one direction. You don’t see many of them getting comeback players of the year. The position just takes such a toll on the body.

  28. Jandy says:

After suffering thru Hot Rod, I am content with what Martin brought last season, and a repeat of it, more or less is fine too.

  29. NMR says:

    ‘scuse me, a MAN.

  30. JohninOshkosh says:

    Pizza

  31. Baywatch says:

Weighing in with the 31st comment: Baywatch, 5-9, 205 lbs., former right fielder for Cornelius (NC) Pony League, 1967!

  32. Dom says:

    Why is that?

  33. Baywatch says:

LOL! He’s My Favorite Martin (cue in 1960s Bill Bixby TV show music here)

  34. Jandy says:

    Good Lord!
    Hope you’re ok now?

  35. Jandy says:

Is that 205 lbs before or after a champagne soaking????

  36. Jandy says:

LunchBox stuck out three times today.
    Not very encouraging.

  37. Brandie says:

I am so sorry to hear that. Here’s wishing Wisconsin’s Finest gets back to feeling alive or anything preferrable to the misery of food poisoning.

  38. Baywatch says:

He seems to pull away from the ball when he swings sometimes. I noticed that during one of his Ks yesterday.

  39. Baywatch says:

Before, Jandy! Trying to get down to my ADULT playing weight of 189!

  40. Baywatch says:

Shut UP, Greg! Gah! If Bob Walk ever dies, I declare I will stop listening to these games! Rock does come in a close second to Walkie for me, though.

  41. Baywatch says:

    :-) My biggest FAN!

  42. Arriba Wilver says:

    I hope Bay didn’t deliver it. ;-)

  43. Brandie says:

Have a job interview on Wednesday to become a Certified Peer Specialist. That would be an advocate for people with issues. Pay is pretty decent.

  44. Brandie says:

I want him to get the strikeouts out of the way now so we don’t go through this in the spring time.

  45. Brandie says:

I think any hall that has a murderer in among its members (thank you Ty Cobb) is a suspect organization. I say let em both in with asterisks or have an intelligent, grown up conversation about performance enhancing substances.

  46. pattonbb says:

I just think baseball will eventually relax their opinion on the whole PED topic. You can already see it starting to happen. Admitted PED users and guys that were caught using are signing big contracts again. Owners aren’t holding it against anyone, why should the players or reporters? Plus, I think the electorate could become a bit more lenient as younger BBWAA members become eligible to vote.

I don’t think it will happen soon, but over the next 4 or 5 years, I think it will surprise people how much support Bonds will start to get. Especially if he returns to baseball as a hitting coach.

It should be noted that I am rarely right about these things. My predictions are worse than Dejan’s.

  47. Baywatch says:

You mean between March 20 and the beginning of summer? :-)

  48. Brandie says:

    You tell em Jandsykya.

  49. toochca says:

    +++++

  50. Jandy says:

hey, I like nate, just callin ‘em as I see ‘em, Bransykya :)

  51. Jandy says:

LOL Bay! Good to see you, man :)

  52. Jandy says:

Woah! Good luck Sistah! Sending prayers up and good vibes your way!

  53. Brandie says:

    Hey there Goody Toochca!

  54. Brandie says:

    Touche Bay-nihana!

  55. Brandie says:

    Thank you my Baseball Buddy!

  56. Jandy says:

So, Bryan Morris gets in to pitch, and the score is now tied…I do believe the Bucs had a 3 run lead…

  57. 21sthebest says:

Morris pitched a clean inning. Welker gave up 3.

  58. Jandy says:

OOps, thanks for setting me straight 21. Trying to follow game day on line and get my work done…serves me right!

  59. radiowave says:

    I will be there.

  60. 21sthebest says:

Andy Oliver gives up a run in the 8th. 7-6 Orioles.

  61. Jandy says:

    LOL! BOOM!

  62. Jandy says:

    Hey hey, it’s radio!

  63. Thundercrack says:

Another pitcher for the Braves may have gotten hurt today.

Hurry up and fix Volquez and trade him to ATL

  64. Jandy says:

    it’s preseason, right? :)

  65. Jandy says:

Zatkoff in net tonight…Borts is day to day and could possibly play tonight.

    Ok, back to baseball :)

  66. 21sthebest says:

    And that’s the final.

Looks like they’re collapsing this Spring. I wonder if there’s a Grapefruit League trading deadline.

  67. 21sthebest says:

Correction. On to the 9th. I think. My app is acting weird.

    Yeah. The 9th.

  68. JohninOshkosh says:

Good thing they don’t have a bunch of expensive contracts holding them down.

  69. NMR says:

Ha, even before Medlen got hurt the Braves were still scheduled to have Freddy Garcia as their 5th starter. Freddy Garcia.

Remember when we were told yesterday that signing Edinson Volquez is a career defining move? :) :) :)

  70. Jim S. says:

I’m not a fan of Welker and Hughes being on this team. Forunately, it does not look like either will be on the team. I hope they are both behind Zack Thornton on the pecking order when it is call up time. All he does in the minors is get outs – downward plane or not. He doesn’t throw 97, but he strikes out more than either of them.

  71. JohninOshkosh says:

Really good to see you drop in, radiowave.

    Have fun at the opener.

  72. Jim S. says:

Bonds? HOF, Patton? I don’t see it ever. He is universally hated by everyone outside of SF.

  73. cmat0829 says:

I wouldn’t lump Welker and Hughes together necessarily, though, yes, thankfully neither one will be on the roster. I’m throwing in the towel on Hughes… not steady enough (not at all, steady that is) nor temperament for a bullpen job…. as to Welker, he gets a few more shots at least before I get to the towel throwing stage.

  74. cmat0829 says:

LOL… they do expect Mike Minor back in April and Gavin Floyd will be coming back too, in May, so Garcia was a stop-gap signing.

Not sure why there would be ANY criticism of the Volquez signing… (1) he is well within the mean in terms of the types of pitchers that teams sign, yes, good teams like the Braves (2) he has stuff and a good arm (3) $5M is hardly breaking the bank.

  75. Thundercrack says:

    Beachy got hurt today.

  76. Jim S. says:

I guess they were so busy signing the “core” that they forgot to pay attention to the “fringe.”

  77. cmat0829 says:

What goes around comes around. Bonds gets what he deserves. He pretty much treated everyone like dirt as he was playing…now when he wants others to vote him into the HOF, to perhaps, give him the benefit of the doubt, there is no goodwill in the ‘ol bank account. Truly a good life lesson. No way in hell Bonds or McGuire or Sosa or Palmeiro or Clemens should be voted in the HOF before Pete Rose is reinstated and voted in. Then, once that happens, when non-playing indiscretions don’t keep out a deserving player from the HOF, then we can move on to consider playing indiscretions. Until then, STFD.

  78. Jim S. says:

    +++

  79. Baywatch says:

    Bay-nihana?

  80. Brandie says:

    Like the Japanese restaurant Benihana.

  81. pattonbb says:

Universally hated by everyone in Pittsburgh maybe.

  82. Arriba Wilver says:

    Glad you’re back, Radio!

  83. Zat again. 4-goal 3rd period?

  84. Jim S. says:

Can’t win the close ones. Bums! I’m canceling the order I made this morning for my Andy Oliver jersey.

  85. radiowave says:

Well thank you for the welcome back to everyone. Technical difficulties prevented my participation. Now it seems those difficulties are solved. Looking forward to warmer weather and baseball.

  86. Jim S. says:

I’ll just keep the A. Oliver throwback one I already have.
