  1. This is the day we have been waiting for all season: Pitt playing against the Big Boys in a game that matters.

This game matters even more than when they played Duke at the Pete, when they played Virginia at the Pete. Those were very important games . . . . . but still truthfully preparation games for games such as this.

If Pitt can’t cut it in this important game against Carolina today (I HATE Carolina, by the way!), look for a one-and-done in the NCAAs.

  2. theplanisworking says:

    GO PITT !!!!!!

Zanna and Patterson healthy for this one.
    Hope this makes a difference………

Still don’t like the fact the ACC Toona-ment is always in North Carolina.

  3. JRay3 says:

Plan the good news is the Tournament will be in Washington DC in 2016 and reports today say the ACC is negotiating with the Barclays in NY/NJ for 2017 on a possible multi-year arrangement.

North Carolina will probably always be in the mix based on the ACC roots, but a rotation appears to be in the future.

  4. theplanisworking says:

    That would be good news!

  5. JohninOshkosh says:

Well, another day in the ACC tournament.

Pitt looked very good yesterday. Lamar Patterson was fantastic as he wants to drop the curtain on his college career in an impactful way. Zanna looked good as well. If Pitt advances, and Patterson plays well again today, even if ousted in the semifinals, I think Patterson makes the all tournament team. That would be saying something in a league like the ACC.

  6. Pitt-NC? Aww suki suki…should be a good one.

  7. You are ONE MEAN DUDE!!!

I was tempted to buy it and burn it! (Actually, the sad thing is, I still have my copy of it, in a file cabinet.)

  8. JohninOshkosh says:

Just funnin’. I saw you and 21 mention it on the other thread. Still remember getting this from the mailbox as a kid (Rural Route 1 !). One of the great covers and headlines ever put together.

  9. JohninOshkosh says:

I tell ya, I pity the teams that draw Virginia’s side of the bracket in the tournament. They aren’t going to kill you with show and pizazz, but what a disciplined steady club. Much better than earlier this season. Fear the fundamentally strong teams in the tournament.

  10. Jim S. says:

Playing UVA is like Chinese water torture. They wear you down.

  11. JohninOshkosh says:

And here we go on day 2 of the ACC Tournament…

North Carolina in the home whites, tops and bottoms, with “North Carolina” straddling the numbers across the chest. Carolina Blue lettering. Carolina Blue stripe down the sides

Pitt in Navy Blue, tops and bottoms, “Pitt” accross the chest. Gold lettering.

School colors for the University of North Carolina: White and Carolina Blue
School colors for the University of Pittsburgh: Navy Blue and Vegas Gold

    North Carolina controls the tip…

Pitt works from left to right on your computer screen..

  12. Aaron says:

    Hey everybody!

    P I T T

  13. JohninOshkosh says:

Robust crowd on hand in a sea of Carolina Blue.

  14. JohninOshkosh says:

Michael Young nice board and put up!

  15. JohninOshkosh says:

    First media timeout:

    Pitt 6
    NC 3

Carolina’s first field goal came under 16:00.

  16. Dom says:

I saw that NC was only 1.5 point favorites. I thought that was very surprising.

  17. Brandie says:

Check out monster going old school funk on me!

  18. Jim S. says:

That is, considering how hot UNC has been compared to Pitt, as well as the location of the game.

  19. JohninOshkosh says:

    Timeout in Greensboro.

    Pitt 10
    UNC 7

Pitt shooting an anemic 33%. The Tar Heels countering with a paltry 21%

No three pointers in the game. Robinson leads Pitt with 4 points.

  20. theplanisworking says:

    14-7 Pitt.
    Wooooooooooo !

  21. JRay3 says:

Wow, Pitt taking it to UNC in the early going as Wright’s drive and finish puts the Panthers up 20-8 forcing Roy Williams into a TO.

Big difference playing with your team healthy as is the case with Zanna and Patterson. Great start!

  22. JohninOshkosh says:

Roy Williams livid at Carolina’s effort. Beat red face yelling at his club during timeout as Pitt leads 20-8.

  23. Dom says:

    23-8 Good Guys

  24. JohninOshkosh says:

    James Robinson has arrived folks!

Pitt literally putting on a clinic early on here!

  25. JohninOshkosh says:

    25-8 !

  26. JRay3 says:

JRob bringing his shot, nails the 3, than Zanna continues to be force in the paint with the tip in and Pitt up 25-8.

This is a game that can help with seeding and I think shows Pitt is a tourney team that when playing at this level can be a tough match-up for anybody.

  27. 66sports says:

Carolina looking bad in offense, time for Pitt to stretch out a lead. It’s a shame the offense for Pitt is so stagnant. They look good passing the ball twenty feet from the hoop. The PG needs to be a bit more aggressive. This big lead will disappear if they don’t put them away now

  28. Jim S. says:

    Wow!! All Pitt so far.

  29. Dom says:

NT Cam Thomas , former of the Chargers, signed a two year deal with the steelesr.

  30. Congratulations to Jamie Dixon!

His team is ready to play.

Boo to Roy Williams: Carolina is playing as if they just had to roll the balls out there to beat the Panthers.

  31. Jim S. says:

What’s your scouting report on him, Dom? How old is he? How much $$ and how many years?

  32. Dom says:

He was a starter but injury prone. He started in the 10 of the 16 games he played in last year. I assume he’ll compete with McClendon for NT and the latter could move over to end if he is not victorious. Thomas is a solid 330 LBS so he certainly has the build of a NT.

I don’t think the $$$ has been made known but it was a two year deal.

  33. JohninOshkosh says:

Terrible held ball call. Fortunately, Pitt had the possession. Pitt getting a bit sloppy in the last few minutes. Some lazy passing and some failures to close driving lanes. Need to refocus a bit. Still with a nice lead.

  34. DemonDachshund says:

It’s been in Tampa in the past at least once. I went while living in Orlando.

  35. Jim S. says:

I think part of the issue with McClendon is he is not quite stout enough to stick at NT. So, maybe this would enable him to move to DT?

  36. 66sports says:

Pitt lead down to 13 with under four minutes to go. Game is too close. Williams will straighten out this anemic NC tean at halftime. This cushion is not enough I’m afraid

  37. Dom says:

I have no issue with the pickup but I assume they’ll obtain a NT in the draft as well. There seems to be plenty of good options.

  38. DemonDachshund says:

Seeing far too many Made Layup/Made Dunk for UNC on the gamecast.

  39. JohninOshkosh says:

Zanna with 10 rebounds. Solid game by Z.

Good, UNC back to man to man.

  40. JohninOshkosh says:

Yeah, uncontested. Not closing up the lanes at all. This game is making me nervous. No way this doesn’t go down to the wire, but Dixon needs to make an adjustment at half.

  41. JohninOshkosh says:

    Pitt 36
    UNC 26

  42. Pitt’s leading North Carolina by a good margin at the half, but one shouldn’t forget that North Carolina has had enough strong second halves so it’s not over yet.

  43. aaron says:

If PITT doesn’t d-up they will lose by 8+…..NC is way too athletic and Pitt can’t depend on banging threes like that in the second half. I love the lead, but I am not comfortable even with a 10 spot at the half.

  44. JohninOshkosh says:

Officials reviewing Artis’ last three pointer. Lead could go to 9.

  45. JRay3 says:

Well UNC will not go away as they cut Pitt lead to 10 at the half as McAdoo hits a very tough shot. Halftime coming at good time for Panthers maybe cut this momentum and allow team to regroup and remember they are still in a very good spot through 20.

Pitt will need defensive intensity in the second half as UNC was starting to get their offense going a bit. On offense, Pitt has looked very solid with good ball movement a healthy mix of inside, outside game.

  46. 66sports says:

Jamie awful positive at halftime after seeing an 18 point lead go down to 10.

  47. Jim S. says:

Can’t complain with a 10 point lead, but also can’t like the end of the half.

But, as my dad always says, “That’s not the Little Sisters of the Poor they are playing today.” Had to figure UNC would make this very difficult.

  48. Dom says:

    Up by ten at halftime

  49. aaron says:

The first five minutes of the second half will be crucial for Pitt to take back control of the game and establish some interior defense. If UNC starts running like a thoroughbred out of the gate it could be a long second half.

  50. theplanisworking says:

    Patterson showed up today. :)

  51. Danger, Will Robinson!———Marcus Paige is a completely different player in every 2nd Half. Pitt needs to maintain an 8-12 point lead, because these guys will turn it up and run like thoroughbreds.

  52. Florida Steeler says:

Cameron Wright may be the smartest player in the ACC but he continues to kill Pitt on the floor.

  53. Till the break o dawn…

  54. JRay3 says:

Patterson and Zanna the two 5th year Seniors saving their best for late in the season, clinic those two are putting on this tourney.

  55. theplanisworking says:

As I said, Lamar Patterson has come to play!!

    As has Talib Zanna!

Man, what play the past 2 days.

  56. aaron says:

Just think how different things could have been if Patterson wouldn’t have hurt his hand late in the year for that stretch!

  57. Jim S. says:

    Senior leadership.

  58. JRay3 says:

Cam Wright jumper gives Pitt largest lead of the day at 19, they are making it look easy so far in their first ACC tournament appearance.

  59. theplanisworking says:

    Senor leadership?

  60. JohninOshkosh says:

  61. Jim S. says:

I once met a Senor Leadership on my travels abroad. Nice fellow.

  62. 66sports says:

Zanna is a beast today and their best offensive weapon. Pitt needs to find some shooters ASAP, other than Lamar

  63. JohninOshkosh says:

I think Pitt’s athletic department and Dixon must have went to an NHL seminar on disclosing player injuries. Patterson and Zanna look very good. Wright playing well. Robinson has contributed.

I’m always looking over my shoulder, though. Most teams have a run in them. Especially, the Carolinas of the world.

  64. JohninOshkosh says:

    (rim shot)

  65. Can’t believe 10 minutes left in game, Carolina down 17, and Roy Williams is still sitting on 4 times out.

It’s not only the Carolina players who did not come to play. Pathetic!

  66. Florida Steeler says:

Here goes Pitt with their free throw shooting.

  67. Jim S. says:

    In B1G action:

Michigan beats Illinois on a basket with 3 seconds left, 64-63.

Nebraska beating OSU 54-44 with 10 min. left. That is a resurgent Nebraska team, to be sure.

  68. theplanisworking says:

Yeah, but did he like the NBA ?? ;)

  69. theplanisworking says:

I know he has won a National title at Carolina, but the past few years, well………

  70. JohninOshkosh says:

McDonough calls out the officials. “Terribly officiated game.”

Bilas has been very complimentary of Pitt and Dixon the last two games.

  71. 66sports says:

Referees need to let the teams play. This is becoming a free throw contest, and a bad one at that. Also, someone needs to take away Paige’s left hand.

  72. JRay3 says:

I’m glad respected play by play man Sean McDonough said it, the officiating in this game has been terrible. No flow to this game, over 20 fouls in this half alone and still 8 minutes plus to play.

Pitt just needs to grind this game out the rest of the way to secure victory.

  73. JohninOshkosh says:

    Sorry, not a reply.

  74. JRay3 says:

Pitt is up 14 against a top 15 team in their home state. Any positives that you have seen today by chance?

  75. JRay3 says:

And out of the TO make it a quick 4-0 run with JRob driving, Young finishing and right back up 18, don’t need FT shooting today.

  76. Jim S. says:

Bilas always seems to give Pitt its due.

  77. JohninOshkosh says:

Wisconsin tonight against rival Minnesota at 5:30 CT.

  78. Dom says:

    We’re embarrassing them.

  79. theplanisworking says:

Makes you wonder where they would be if they played like this the past month. They would easily be Top 10.

But if they are indeed healthy and playing their best basketball now, I will gladly take it.

Oh, and they are NOT setting basketball back 75 years with their play the past 2 days. ;)

  80. Bizrow says:

Oh, oh, come on Pitt, tighten it up

  81. JohninOshkosh says:

Held ball call ? They tackled Zanna! Should’ve been a flagrant!

  82. JRay3 says:

Zanna was hit in the face and mugged how is that not a foul, brutal. These officials have made this almost unwatchable.

  83. theplanisworking says:

Hopefully they won’t be allowed to ref again.
    Simply awful.

  84. JohninOshkosh says:

45 or 46 fouls called. Both teams in the double bonus since forever.

  85. Florida Steeler says:

Does Pitt know you DO NOT runaway from the ball on a press?

  86. JohninOshkosh says:

Pitt having trouble with the press a bit. Let’s use this timeout to review press strategy and settle down. Press favors the offense in most cases if you don’t lose your head.

And Wright shows it how it is done coming out of the timeout.

  87. 66sports says:

Referees need to be consistent. Now these UNC muggings are being let go

  88. Fouls are 24 Carolina, 23 Pitt. Someone above was calling for just allowing the refs to let them play——now you want more fouls called.

Play the game, not the refs. Pitt has the lead: just protect it. Carolina is the worst shooting free throw team in the league. That’s to Pitt’s advantage.

  89. theplanisworking says:

And some things that should have been called, weren’t.

  90. 66sports says:

Anyone smart enough to take away Paige’s left hand?

  91. JohninOshkosh says:

Let UNC play the press. Settle down on it and it’s feasting time for the offense. Good luck pressing a team that passes as good as Pitt.

  92. JohninOshkosh says:

Carolina is second to the last in the nation in free throw shooting!

  93. JohninOshkosh says:

    This is a weird game.

  94. Great, patient ball movement by Pitt ends up in lay up.

  95. 66sports says:

    Wow! Unbelievable collapse

  96. Missed foul shots. Missed dunk.

    S-C-R-E-A-M loudly!!! I hate Carolina!

  97. Dom says:

    Foul on patterson

  98. theplanisworking says:

Lunardi has Pitt as a 10 seed in the West.

A win would move Pitt up.
An inconceivable loss would really hurt….. possibly going to a play-in game.

  99. theplanisworking says:

    Zanna fouls out.

  100. aaron says:

Didn’t we all just know it would come down to something like this?!?

If Pitt loses this game I will deny I ever went there and will never utter the word Pitt again unless speaking of a large, nefarious, deep hole.

Bilas said it all…..”It has been an absolute meltdown by Pitt”

  101. JRay3 says:

Wow, Pitt not handling the pressure at all, and now have some work to do in the final minute, craziest most choppy half of basketball I have watched.

  102. Florida Steeler says:

    total collapse

  103. JRay3 says:

Huge steal by Jrob, when team absolutely needed a play made.

  104. Brandie says:

    All hail Zanna-Du!

Thank you for the response on the Bucco thread as well.

  105. Florida Steeler says:

Patterson disappeared at the end if this game.

  106. 66sports says:

I’ve been a big Dixon supporter until I witnessed this.

  107. Excellent ball movement by Pitt. Good Job by Young!

    Now hit foul shots.

  108. theplanisworking says:

Playing with 4 fouls makes one overly cautious.
    I wouldn’t say disappeared.

  109. JRay3 says:

+ very true, the way this game has been called really affected flow of game.

  110. Wow! Britt misses lay up to take it to 2!

  111. Jim S. says:

Just following on my phone and here. What has Dixon done?

  112. 66sports says:

I’ve been a big Dixon supporter until I witnessed this. Fifty percent free throws? Wow!

  113. Dom says:

    They’re a 3 away!

  114. Aaron says:

Free throws? not a problem! – said no PITT fan EVER!

  115. Jim S. says:

How many of them did Jamie miss? He used to be a good free throw shooter, as I recall.

  116. Dom says:

What about in 1927 and 1929

  117. Aaron says:

who would have thought a six point win would have felt like a loss?

  118. JRay3 says:

And Pitt will hold on and advance to the Semi-Finals, and at the end of the day that is all that matters.

Coach Dixon will have to do some work on having his team better prepared to handle pressure, so good lesson today. Team will need to shoot better at the line as the games take on even more meaning.

25-8, 13-7 in ACC and a Top 15 win now, good stuff. Virginia tomorrow, can’t wait.

  119. Wow! 4 seconds left and I just took my first breath in 5 minutes.

The finish sure will take away Pitt’s confidence from first 35 minutes.

  120. Dom says:

Are we going to get by Virginia?

  121. Aaron says:

okay…so no Pitt fan in the last 15 years. Better?

  122. Dom says:

you should be a scuba diver

  123. 66sports says:

Jim S. Dixon sat and watched team collapse against a press and used no timeouts.

  124. Dom says:

    Much better.

  125. Aaron says:

    in a word? no.

  126. Wild Bill says:

Pitt ever see full court pressure before? Best get that straightened out.

  127. 21sthebest says:

    Maybe for you.

  128. Aaron says:

Do we have anyone who can dribble?

  129. Great game by Talib Zanno, who was the best player on the floor.
    19 points/21 rebounds/3 assists.

He was the difference for Pitt in the game, overcoming 20 points in 2nd Half by Paige.

  130. Aaron says:

Call me crazy, but I think Virginia may think about using some full court pressure against Pitt tomorrow. Just a thought… amongst yourselves.

  131. Wild Bill says:

    Yep, Zanna was great.

  132. JRay3 says:

Congrats Pitt, signature win, now all that talk can finally stop. Announcers even called out officiating, made the final ten minutes extremely challenging.

    Survive and advance!

  133. JRay3 says:

Felt like a win to me.

  134. Dom says:

Good thing he didnt miss the bus

  135. Aaron says:

    Definitely into the big dance!

  136. Brandie says:

And Penn State Men’s Basketball is headed to the NCAA’s…said no one with a good grip on reality.

  137. Aaron says:

So I’m the only one who is a but bothered by the 20 point 7 minute meltdown?

  138. theplanisworking says:

A tale of 2 games……… first 35 minutes great, last 5 minutes, UGH!

But, Pitt advances to the Toona-ment semis with a closer than should have been 80-75 victory.

So, Pitt takes on Virginia tomorrow.
I hope a better game is played than last time.

  139. Florida Steeler says:

He ran away from the basketball on the press. He was a non factor. Zanna didn’t run when he had four fouls.

  140. Dom says:

    Hey, a wins a win.

  141. theplanisworking says:

You must have seen another Pitt game.

  142. theplanisworking says:

Carolina isn’t exactly Little Sisters of the Poor.

But, Pitt got a win in Carolina’s back yard, “meltdown” or no.

  143. Jim S. says:

Look, I didn’t see the game.

Pitt was 21-41 from the line, according to my phone’s app.

They just beat the hottest team in the ACC (and maybe the country) in the state of No. Carolina, in a pro-UNC arena.

They may not be happy about their free throws and turnovers down the stretch. But, they are also going to remember that they took this very good team apart for 36 minutes. I think that will be what they take away. Any win vs. UNC is a good one. Any win vs UNC in its home state is a very good win. Dixon will still be the coach tomorrow.

  144. Brandie says:

    Win pretty, win ugly!

    Matters not!

  145. theplanisworking says:

  146. Aaron says:

For all of my lamenting the last 7 minutes…..congrats Pitt and let’s hope they can work out the pressure issues going forward. monster effort by Patterson and Zanna!

It was fun chatting with everyone! Hope to catch you all here tomorrow. Have a good night everybody!

  147. Florida Steeler says:

That was the worst officiated game, both ways, that I have seen in a long time. No excuse for inconsistence in officiating. There was no consistency in their calls.

  148. Brandie says:

    Amen Jim Rocka!

  149. theplanisworking says:

How is the car thing going?
    Pretty, or ugly??

  150. Jim S. says:

Hopefully, they’ll have more poise at the line tomorrow, maybe Sunday, and for the NCAA Tourney.

I’m just going by comments here, as I didn’t see it. But, it sounded like what often happens when you are protecting a lead and being pressed. If you don’t make your free throws, everything breaks down. No poise with the ball or at the free throw line.

    Was that part of it?

  151. Aaron says:

Indeed they did. It is sports talk, we gotta have some fun with it and cover all the angles! I’m a Pittsburgh fan through and through, which is what makes 7 minutes like that tough on the ticker =)

  152. Florida Steeler says:

Not me–you. How many free throws did he miss, how many uncontested shots did he give up?? He disappeared the last six minutes of the game and that is a fact.

  153. Jim S. says:

Maybe they got the jitters out of their system for future games? Lesson learned? Hoping here.

  154. Jim S. says:

Do they have the athletes for that, Aaron?

  155. Brandie says:

    93.7….THE PLAN!!!!!!!

I will go find out either Monday or Tuesday. I appreciate everyone’s honest feedback!

  156. Well, after all those fouls, stoppages, and a collapse during the final 7 or 8 minutes, Pitt won finally by 5. And now, they’ll have to play a better second half tomorrow afternoon against Virginia, definitely!

  157. theplanisworking says:

    Mmmmmm, feedback. :)

  158. JohninOshkosh says:

Funny how this team goes on this blog from a school that doesn’t deserve to go to the NCAA tournament to a team chided for not beating North Carolina in a more impressive manner.

They freaking won. And they beat North Carolina on a far from neutral court. North Carolina ! They play basketball for forty minutes for a reason. They don’t just start the game with 5 minutes to go. Pitt won this game by dominating the first 3/4 of it. They won this fair and square by forcing the Tar Heels to play from behind for the entire game.

Even if they don’t beat Virginia, this was a nice entry into the ACC tournament.

  159. Jim S. says:

I recorded the game to watch later. Sounds like it will only make me angry, even though they won.

  160. Brandie says:

    Tasty feedback!

You Kill Me E. Planibus Unum (Out of one hippo, many.) :)

  161. Aaron says:

I’m right there hoping with you! if they get and stay hot and get a couple favorable matchups in the big dance it could be a lot of fun!

  162. theplanisworking says:

    Scary thought.
Thank Goodness I am an original.

    As are you, Namemaster Muppet……

  163. Brandie says:

Captain ABA has wisdom. As a long suffering Penn State fan…nevermind.

  164. Aaron says:

I don’t think people are chiding Pity for not winning in a more impressive manner, I think folks are just a bit concerned about some of the issues they had down the stretch. Failure to handle pressure, free throws, etc.

We can be glad and concerned at the same time. It was a great win, but they have some stuff to fix going forward.

  165. Aaron says:

    Pitt…stupid tablet.

  166. JohninOshkosh says:

I understand, Aaron. Hope you are with us manana.

I don’t worry about the press. A few refreshers and it’s easily exploited.

  167. Brandie says:

Ate you sure your tablet did that? (I am just messing with you. I come from a place of tablet corrections and tremendous typos myself.) :)

  168. Brandie says:

BTW Captain ABA…I am pulling for Wisconsin!

  169. Aaron says:

Lord willing I will be here tomorrow. Pitt is on at 1pm, correct? what time are the Pens on?

  170. Aaron says:

The autocorrect….. never there when you need it and always there when you don’t.

  171. Milo Hamilton says:

Pitt actually shot a better percentage from the field (51.9) than they did from the foul line (51.2).

    Hail to Pitt.

  172. Jim S. says:

Pitt should check on the way out of the arena to verify there is tobacco being grown all over the place. You know, just to remind themselves that they won on tobacco road.

And, then, maybe they can ask themselves how UNC feels. I’m pretty sure UNC feels worse than Pitt right now.

And, finally, the UVA Coach, Tony Bennett, is going to be reminding his guys that Pitt was terrific for 85% of the game.

I think they will give UVA a good game tomorrow. Pitt has only been dusted 1x all year that I can recall, and that was the 2nd half vs. Duke; otherwise, they have played everyone competitively – even in the bad games.

  173. Jim S. says:

Get some rest, Aaron. The blog will need you to suit up again! :-)

  174. Jim S. says:

    +++ Well said.

  175. Bizrow says:

I’ll take the win, just happy I can bite my nails again tomorrow ;-)

  176. Arriba Wilver says:

Everyone who, before yesterday, thought Pitt would win their first 2 ACC Tournament games raise your hand.

    Me neither.

Although it may have helped my disposition I didn’t get to actually see the game. ;-)

  177. And the worst thing about the officiating was when, with 4 seconds left, they called a conference to determine if they’d let too time go off the clock and, after what seemed an eternity, they finally added .3 seconds to the clock, not that it made a difference, thankfully, for Pitt.

  178. theplanisworking says:

No, you are just trolling again, that is the only fact.
Will you grace us again tomorrow with your presence?

  179. theplanisworking says:

    + many, Oshie.

I did not expect Pitt to win 2 games in the Toona-ment.
Now, they play on the weekend, which is more than expected. Playing with house money, so to speak.

  180. theplanisworking says:

Now, I can just picture you with an Orange top, and Gold pants tomorrow.
    That would be a sight……..

  181. I guess that the best thing about this afternoon’s game is that Pitt beat a team they’d lost to during the regular
season, and now, hopefully, they’ll beat another team they’d lost to this past season: Virginia, albeit by only 3 points, tomorrow afternoon.

  182. Arriba Wilver says:

Not me. As long as Pitt’s in, I’ll be wearing Pitt colors.

  183. JoeyBats says:

    a WIN …
    is a WIN….
    is a WIN………….:-)

  184. theplanisworking says:

    Oh, sorry, I didn’t explain myself………..

the Orange is for the Tigers’ bullpen………

  185. Florida Steeler says:

Why won’t you ever admit to the facts??? He had six turnovers and ran under the pressure. Anyone that calls it like it is–you call a troll with your silly hippo nonsense.

  186. Arriba Wilver says:

Just read the recap in the Trib. James Robinson had 19 points and sank two free throws at the end to seal it? Where’s THAT James Robinson been?

  187. theplanisworking says:

    Ran under the pressure. Riiiigggghhhht.
Six turnovers? Ball-handling isn’t his strong suit, so when pressed, it’s Dixon’s job to get the ball to better ballhandlers.

Can’t wait to see what wisdom you impart upon us tomorrow, then call everyone else wrong.

Now, I am all out of food for you. I ate it all.

Good night, and good luck ! :D

  188. Arriba Wilver says:

Should be fun on the Blog tomorrow. Volquez pitching.

  189. Thanks for the warning. I’ve got grass to watch growing.

  190. JohninOshkosh says:

Almost 200 posts on the Pitt thread.

    Very cool!

  191. Pitt plays Virginia tomorrow at 1pm, which, hopefully, will be a more worthwhile viewing experience on ESPN.

  192. theplanisworking says:

The legal, or “other” grass ?

  193. Badgers putting a hurting on Minnesota, John.

  194. JohninOshkosh says:

    You betcha!

  195. Brandie says:

    Go Badgers!!!!!

    Really liking the ABA ball!

  196. Badgers should win the BIG tourney and should have 2-seed.

  197. JohninOshkosh says:

Agree, Lucky. And, thanks Queen B!

  198. Brandie says:

Always pull for quality Captain ABA!!! ;)

  199. Brandie says:

  200. theplanisworking says:

    Captain ABA?

You mean Osh is secretly Connie Hawkins?

  201. theplanisworking says:

    Oh, I don’t know.

    At least he isn’t you, I guess……..

  202. Jim S. says:

Another nice finish by the Bucks, Lucky.

  203. Jim S. says:

    Nice use of albeit, James.

  204. Jim S. says:

I hear you. I picked Pitt over my alma mater when they had a home and home a few years back, Arriba.

  205. Brandie says:

The Badgers are a tough act to follow Jim Shot. Even a writer in the weekly Centre County Gazette picked them ti go all the way.

  206. Jim S. says:

Pitt is safely tucked in the field of 68 now, for sure. It is just about trying to improve where they are placed. I think, right now, there is actually a pretty broad range of where they could end up. I’d say they might about an 8 or 9 now, but that’s just my guess.

  207. I would certainly hope that James Neal will recover soon from his concussion so that he can be available for the Pens in the playoffs or else next season.

  208. I would also like at this time to offer hope and prayers for Hall of Fame quarterback and Pittsburgh native Jim Kelly who will be in New York next week to be treated for that cancer recurrence.

  209. Jandy says:

Pens are on at 1 pm, that’s what I’ll be watching!
