  1. hockeymonster says:

HA! 1st! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves :)

For DJ and the Usual Suspects(you know who you are):

    For Jandiskova:

  2. hockeymonster says:

No more negativity people! Game on!

  3. Brandie says:

Awesome! Back to being a Snowman eh?

  4. hockeymonster says:

Ya for now. Pootin bout to make things interesting overseas.

Oddly enough you can find me at the 420 of 1st link :)

  5. Wild Bill says:

Time to get to 110 and close out well against a team going nowhere.

  6. Brandie says:

    Testify Untamed William!

  7. Sarah says:

Yep let’s try to be positive! This is arguably the best bracket for the Pens that could have happened.

Wings have an outside chance of upsetting BOS, and PHY/NYR will hopefully beat themselves to a bloody pulp for the second round.

If we cannot get by the JAX, well then wholesale changes are coming, which IMO for quite some time are overdue, so pretty much a win-win.

  8. Wild Bill says:

    Brandie is our witness!

  9. Brandie says:

    Hey Hey Sarah Sunshine!

  10. theplanisworking says:

If the Pens make it to the 2nd round, how does the NHL determine the opponent?

  11. Sarah says:

I believe it is a straight bracket w original seeds, ie no re-seeding or moving around. Ex, if DET beats BOS, we would not face them til ECF.

  12. theplanisworking says:

Ok, but I was wondering do the Pens face a straight seed, or do they stay in division the 1st two rounds?

  13. DJ says:

You back in the saddle now? I was forced to dole out a lot of “[smiley faces]” while you were on sabbatical.

Let’s do this playoffs thing and get us another Cup.

  14. DJ says:

Yeah, Sarah, I mentioned the Flyers-Rangers slugging it out last night.

We don’t have to beat everybody, just whoever we’re playing.

  15. Sarah says:

I believe they stay in the Div – BUT an out of div WC winner would move on to the Div finals in a Div they did not come from! such as if JAX were 2nd WC and somehow beat BOS. They would “stay” in that Div to face TB or MTL.
Meanwhile we could only face PHL or NYR I 2nd rd.
It is an odd mix, where the WCs do not stay in Div.

  16. Wild Bill says:

Think it’s divisional, Plan. Pens win, we get NY/Philthy winner.

  17. Sarah says:

I think this is the best possible bracket for us.

  18. Sarah says:

  19. DJ says:

    I’m with you.

Who knew the Pens looking so mediocre lately would help us?

  20. hockeymonster says:

More like less busy. But in general, it’s winning time. Time for talk has long passed.

  21. hockeymonster says:

Muppet, saw your new movie with my lil cousins. You got rave reviews! :)

  22. Sarah says:

Yeah, I try to stay positive, but their very mediocre run since the Olympics has me antsy!

Kobasew brought up,dunno what to read into that. Possibly Malkin not back as soon as we hoped? Goc still out, that is for sure.

I had hoped BB would show a bit more Che, w Sid. But he’s been mostly sitting . 3 shifts in the second yesterday.

As usual, the personnel decisions leave me mystified.

  23. Brandie says:

    Are we talking Oscar worthy?

  24. theplanisworking says:

    You are Brandie, not Oscar.
He is the Grouch, you are our ray of sunshine.

Root the team on tonight, I am out to enjoy the rest of this beautiful day!

  25. Brandie says:

And with a flourish, Eplanuel Sanders has left the building!!!!

  26. BlurryFleury says:

Wings upset the Bruins? That’s hysterical. The BJs have a much better chance of upsetting the Pens than the Wings beating the Bruins. Fleury will again be Blurry, and the Pens will be lucky to make it to round 2.

  27. Sarah says:

Based on what? their record v Bs this year?

  28. Sam says:

Any idea on if there is a limit on how many guys we can carry on the active playoff roster and when we can call folks up from WB? Could the Kobesew move be due to filling our roster vs. injury?

  29. Sarah says:

Or pick given the Players Player Award.
He will be re-signed, count on it.
    HM, you should be pleased!!!

  30. Eric Bowser says:

Crosby, Sutter and Niskanen are scratches

This should be interesting night at center with Jokinen, Gibbons, Megna, and Adams.

  31. Eric Bowser says:

huge mistake (what’s new) by Shero if he resigns Orpik.

  32. Sam says:

The new and improved 3 center model?

  33. I would certainly hope that the Pens can beat Ottawa tonight, since the Senators are only 36-31 and the Pens are 52-24 whether or not they play like that anymore.

  34. Rbilak says:

Kobasew is in? Gives Dan a reason to use him in playoffs.

Well hopefully not overconfident about Blue Jackets. I think it comes down to the goalies. That is the best chance Jackets have.

No injuries tonight. Set for Wednesday.

  35. Rbilak says:

Kobasew is in? Gives Dan a reason to use him in playoffs.

Well hopefully not overconfident about Blue Jackets. I think it comes down to the goalies. That is the best chance Jackets have.

No injuries tonight. Set for Wednesday.

  36. JohninOshkosh says:

Yet another MVP season for Jeff Jimerson.

  37. Eric Bowser says:

Always root for a win but tonight, I could care less about the result.

Stay healthy and play the young guys

  38. JohninOshkosh says:

    Some entertainment for the fans.

  39. Sarah says:

Well Glass whacked Neil a few.

  40. Sarah says:

    Adams out with Kunitz? wha?

  41. Brandie says:

    BOOM! (Head Explodes)

  42. Sarah says:

    Nice deflection, D!!!

  43. Sarah says:

    Cos Bylsma!!

  44. Sarah says:

Lot if time and space for Turris. Letang just get TH out of the way.

  45. Sarah says:

Why I fear for Zatkoff should he be needed in playoffs. Oy.

  46. hockeymonster says:

I hope gibby isn’t passing his audition for PK time. Any word on Goc?

  47. hockeymonster says:

And if shero can sign Orpik for similar cap hit than yes i’d be ecstatic.

  48. Sarah says:

Still in a boot but that was earlier this week….

  49. Sarah says:

  50. Eric Bowser says:

During the 2005-06 season, NHL teams received 15,683 minor penalties. This season, they are at 9,057 minors, pending results from tonight’s final regular season games.

  51. DJ says:

Orpik decides to vacate left post to double team with Adams a Sen in the slot. Turris scores right from the spot Orpik vacated. Brilliant feel for the play.

    Beat + horse = dead.

  52. DJ says:

On a positive note, Letang playing well. Much better sense of spacing entering zone on PP.

Maybe his extended view from up above helped him.

  53. DJ says:

We sent you out to sign Folin and you come back empty handed.

We don’t need you indiscriminately throwing cash around for Orpik.

  54. DJ says:

That looked like the old ole´play, avoiding a puck deflection to the face.

  55. Sarah says:

Well, you HM, and I guess Eric may have to have it out re Orpik.
I cant say any more clearly what I’ve said already.

  56. DJ says:

Strictly business at this point, not even a question of whether he would accept something far less.

His time has passed and we’ve got D-men who need to play. That simple.
