  1. Jim S. says:

Go Bucs! Payback time! Nothing shy of 3/4 this weekend is acceptable.

  3. Thundercrack says:

Quit being so negative Jim S !

  4. NMR says:

    Thanks, buddy!

  5. JohninOshkosh says:

    1. @Scapper, if you check out this thread. Thanks for the shout out on morning thread. Can you talk to my wife for me?

    2. Lost in the mess that was the morning thread is the sentiment put forth by radiowave. I’m not a big believer in the “big series in April” idea, but a Brewer sweep, albeit unlikely, would be somewhat crippling. At the very least, it would create a bit of a mountain of sand for the Pirates to climb.

    3. First time the Pirates fans get to welcome Ryan Braun to town. Looking forward to the reaction. I’ll be jeering in absentia.

    4. Go Bucs! Go Mild!

  6. NMR says:

I have tickets tonight, meaning it is about time for Edinson to implode.

  7. Bizrow says:

  8. 21sthebest says:

No worries. I’ll be there too and I’m 2-0.

  9. Nate83 says:

We can’t lose to a team with a Scooter, Yovani, Aramis and Khris all in their line up.

Hopefully we get the first two men out and then Braun can get some high inside chin music…..Wow that was mean. I’m disappointed in myself. On second thought it’s Braun so I’m perfectly fine with myself. Maybe even a little proud.

  10. Nate83 says:

Be careful that Jim anger might come out again. We may have to call him irascrible:)

  11. NMR says:

Stay out of Section 142 or else risk blowing my cover of actually being a 17 year old high school girl.

  12. Jim S. says:

I always wondered why you are a WI guy, but are a big Burgh fan for a few of the teams, Osh.

  13. Jim S. says:

    Just my nature!

  14. Thundercrack says:

    I’m also going tonight. I am 1-0.

And I do not have a lucky hat this year.

  15. Jim S. says:

Oh, how I long to be able to say those magical words about PNC again sometime this season, NMR – “I have tickets tonight.”

  16. JohninOshkosh says:

Have fun to all going to the game.

Just don’t bring any “Regis” signs. Wait, wrong sport. A long time ago I was going to bring a “Read Dejan Kovacevic in the Post-Gazette” sign to Miller Park when he was doing the Pirates beat. My wife summarily nixed it. Too embarrassing she said.

  17. JohninOshkosh says:

  18. 21sthebest says:

Your insensitivity towards teenage girls is not surprising in the least.

  19. Jim S. says:

Your 3rd game already? Ok, I hate all of you. Next, Milo’s going to come on here and say this is his 4th game! I really miss Pittsburgh.

  20. 21sthebest says:

I’m enabling Nutting to the tune of 20 games this year Jim.

  21. The Gunner says:

EV is our ace thus far. Now help us to get the Bucco offense going tonight, NMR.

  22. NMR says:

Ha, I appreciate your words below, Jim. This’ll be my fourth game. 12 minute walk from my home to the home plate gate.

I take for granted how much great fans like you would love to treat your kids this often. You’re a good man.

  23. theplanisworking says:

Agree with the comments above about this series.

Would be nice to take at least 3/4 from the Brewers. Still haven’t forgotten when they constantly beat the Bucs, both here and in Milwaukee.

“We can’t lose to a team with a Scooter, Yovani, Aramis and Khris all in their line up.” — Agreed. Sounds like names you would find on a beer softball league or something.

Also agree it is too soon for a “must-win” series, but falling back too far in the division is never a good thing, whether in April, or August.

Still not used to seeing Martin in the 2 spot.
But I like the change in the lineup.
    Maybe 10 runs scored tonight?

  24. Jim S. says:

I think I ended up getting to 5 reg season at PNC last year, + Game 3. We also caught one in Cincy and a couple in Wrigley. Need to add the House of Horrors again this year, although I pretty much know how that will end up.

  25. theplanisworking says:

What does Jandy say about you?
Nicest, sweetest guy on the blog?

You have a reputation to uphold, Jim.

  26. NMR says:

My better half is calling a Pedro homer already, Gunner. Fingers crossed!

  27. Jim S. says:

4th? It just gets worse and worse. :-)

  28. theplanisworking says:

  29. NMR says:

Can’t tell if serious, but I laughed either way.

  30. The Gunner says:

Sounds good to me, NMR. It is time for the Bucs to annihilate the rotten Brewers this weekend.

  31. Jim S. says:

    Undeserved reputation.

  32. 21sthebest says:

    NMR, never take me seriously.

  33. theplanisworking says:

Well, since we don’t run criminal background checks, I guess you are all good.

  34. Jim S. says:

I think we played much better vs. Milwaukee at PNC last year, plan. But, the record over a bunch of years has been attrocious. I think we’ll put it to them this weekend.

  35. Jim S. says:

    Whew, glad to hear that.

    I mean … of course, we don’t.

  36. Jim S. says:

You know he lines the bird cage in his office with the money that he doesn’t roll up and smoke, don’t you?

  37. theplanisworking says:

    Hope so.

I still am a bit miffed with the Braun situation, so that is added incentive I guess. And, I remember 20-0.

  38. theplanisworking says:

  39. I HATE Ryan Braun!

I wish he was the Pirate rightfelder! Put him in the 4-hole and Pedro batting 5th, and Bucs would have a Lineup!

  40. Baywatch says:

They’ve been playing really well, us not so much. If we can get Cutch turned around, see Gaby show his mettle and get a few timely hits from Jordy … I like our slim chances.

  41. National Mart of Records,

    You must live near Dejan.

  42. Jim S. says:

But, we’d have to ship him to AAA when Polanco arrives, Groat! :-)

  43. NMR says:

I’m due north. He’s a bit up the river (and out of my tax bracket ;) ).

  44. Oshkosh b’Gosh,

    Congrats on the new owners.

Would they like to buy a baseball team too?

  45. theplanisworking says:

Pirates have the NL’s best home ERA, at 2.18.
That gives hope for this weekend.

Bay, is that Ray Searage in your avatar?

  46. toochca says:

Dont feel bad Jim, I’m in the same boat (group). Although being in a group with me may actually make you feel worse.

I made 2 games last year, one in Anaheim and one in San Diego. I do not go to Dodger Stadium anymore…EVER.

  47. Jim S. says:

Yeah, 20-0. Forgot about that. I was on a business trip at some sort of a seminar. I remember heading down to the bar for a cocktail before dinner with a couple of buddies, and SportsCenter was on. Felt like they replayed the entire miserable game.

  48. Says the accountant!!!

Due north———Franco lives in the Mexican War Streets. So you live near Dok And Franco.

  49. Jim S. says:

That’s true, tooch. I can at least drive to Pittsburgh a few times a year.

I’ve only been to Dodgers Stadium once, and it was a long time ago. Can’t even remember who they played.

Why don’t you go there ever?

  50. theplanisworking says:

    20-0 was bad enough.
The Brewers posing, laughing, and other antics were worse.

Need one of those games against them to let them know what it is like.
Well, I would settle for 10-0.

  51. Baywatch says:

It is indeed, Plan. And Bay Searage with him! Photo from Fan Appreciation Day, September 2011

  52. NMR says:

    Bingo, Groat!

  53. Baywatch says:

I see Lyle Overbay is on paternity leave. Grandfather, I’m assuming.

  54. toochca says:

The access to Dodger Stadium is horrible. One way in and one way out. Dodger Stadium has a less than desirable crowd, I don’t want to take my 11 year old there. Dodger Stadium is about 55 miles from the house and it takes 3 hours to get home after the game. If you ever wondered why fans at Dodger Stadium leave in the 7th it’s because it usuall takes 1-2 hours to get out of the parking lots after games.

I can drive 90 miles to San Diego and get home in less time than it takes to get home from Dodger Stadium. Angel Stadium is 15 minutes from my house.

Plus after the Giant’s fan was beaten in the parking lot a few years ago, I don’t need the possibility of anything happening.

  55. Jim S. says:

  56. NMR says:

  57. Jim S. says:

    +++, Bay.

  58. Brandie says:

    Lyle Olderbay!

  59. NMR says:

You betcha. I’m gonna say it out loud in order to get a little vigorish working: Andrew Mccutchen has yet to homer.

    That oughtta do it!

  60. Jim S. says:

That’s too bad, Tooch. I do remember it took forever to get out of there when I went to Dodgers Stadium.

  61. toochca says:

Jim ( I aswered above but thought I would repost here),

  62. theplanisworking says:

    Just too funny.

I was wondering because I didn’t see the bevy of bikini-clad girls from your TV show in the picture.

Nice of him to oblige ya on the photo.

  63. theplanisworking says:

    Or, Old Bay.
(love me some Old Bay seasoning).

  64. Bill maloni says:

Wish it could be different, but look for the Brew Crew to sweep. This is not the 2013 Bucs.

  65. Brandie says:

    S”up Plangers and Mash?

  66. Jim S. says:

That rivalry with SF does get really ugly! That’s a shame.

I was out there when I was fresh out of college once. A girl I dated took a job out there, and I visited. It was in February, I think. We went to the stadium, and no one was there but one of the gates was open. So, we went inside and took some pictures of the empty stadium in the upper deck. Then, we got chased out.

A few years later, I went to a game there. I also went to one in Anaheim.

I do recall the horrendous traffic coming out of Chavez Ravine. And, I also recall being underwhelmed by a Dodger Dog.

  67. Jim S. says:

    Hey, Brandie!

  68. theplanisworking says:

    Hello, Brandie.

Your meteoric rise to the top at your company reminds me of the movie ‘Secret of My Success”.
    Today, the mailroom.
    Tomorrow, CEO.

    Hope you are doing well.
And, hope you brought some of your good karma to beat the Brewers.

  69. JohninOshkosh says:

Yes, that would be great. Very excited about it and their apparent desire to keep them in Milwaukee. First thing on their plate will be this important upcoming draft.

I should have went to school to become a hedge fund manger because, apparently, if you have that in your title, you live in neighborhoods like Dejan’s.

  70. toochca says:

I never understood the infatuation with a Dodger Dog either. It’s only a grilled hot dog!!

  71. Baywatch says:

  72. Baywatch says:

LOL, Branj! The Moniker Meistress is BACK! Of course, they called him “Overpay” when he was here!

  73. Brandie says:

    Jimmie Sprinkles!

  74. Brandie says:

    All The Way Bay!!!!

  75. Brandie says:

Got nothing but vibes for Ya Planny!

  76. cmat0829 says:

ill bet a billion dollars on the bucs NOT getting swept this weekend…any takers? (for your info, Mitt Romney accepted the bet)

  77. Reading says:

Since some are talking other venues they’ve been to for baseball, here’s my list:

Forbes Field, Three Rivers, The Vet, Fenway, and Memorial Stadium (Baltimore).

I’ve had a sheltered existence, but thanks to my Mom for taking me to my first game st Forbes Field in 1970 about a week or so before TRS opened for bat day against the Expos. Imagine a real wooden Willie Stargell Louisville Slugger (don’t tell anyone that I was mad because I wanted the guy to hand me a Clemente bat). One HOFer for another.

  78. Karen22 says:

    10 runs? Hope they’re all ours! ;)

  79. Karen22 says:

  80. Karen22 says:

    Love that movie! ;)

  81. bpn8pitt says:

Is this Martin in the #2 brand new or recent?

  82. Wild Bill says:

Here’s hoping that the Buccos win over Roidin Braun and the Brewers while the Rangers and Flyers whack each other for three overtimes.

  83. bpn8pitt says:

    Pirates Charities.
    Mike Tyson.

Indeed, the Blackout was just the beginning.

  84. My gripe with Forbes Field is those danged I-beams. They shouldn’t have sold seats directly behind those. Other than that, I loved the place.

  85. Brandie says:

Twenty-two!!! How do you do? :)

  86. Brandie says:

Can you root for disqualifications in that series Big Willy Thrills?

  87. Brandie says:

My father and father in law both loved to see games at Forbes Field. I wish I had that pleasure.

  88. theplanisworking says:

    Yep, all ours.
    None for them. ;)

  89. Brandie says:

    On 10 solo homers!

  90. Chuck H says:

The Pirates need a new leadoff man, anyone but Marte. I’m tired of seeing him watch the first pitch right down the middle and then flail away at pitches in the dirt. The pitcher wouldn’t be any worse in that spot.

  91. theplanisworking says:

    Well, I guess so……..

  92. Andrew says:

Did anyone see Sawchik’s piece on Neal Walker and batting right handed. I find it odd that the Pirate’s only have Searage who can throw left handed batting practice.

  93. theplanisworking says:

    CUTCH !!!!

    That was sweet!

    Who called that up above?

  94. JohninOshkosh says:

Nothing like the Crew to get Cutch to go yard!! Whooooooo!

The Pirate center fielder now has 18 home runs against Milwaukee, more than any other Pirates opponent.

    PBC 2
    Mil 1

Hopefully, that knocks the smirkiness off of Gomez and Ramirez faces.

  95. Too young, Brandi-berg!

  96. Andrew says:

I have to say the pitch location on McCutchen homer was laughable, but he did what you should do with mistakes.

  97. Brandie says:

With ya on that one Big John Stud! Listening on Sirius XM app so I am a bit behind.

  98. Brandie says:

You were on my mind today Revvie. Good vibes to ya!

  99. Brandie says:

413 feet on the Cutch homerun!

  100. theplanisworking says:

+++ on the old-school wrestler reference.

  101. Reading says:

I was 7 at the time and wish now that I had been more observant. Love seeing old photos of the stadium, and visit the wall at Pitt when I’m there.

  102. JohninOshkosh says:

Had to go to Google there, Queen B. Don’t know much about wrastling. True, authentic wrestling is huge where I grew up. Never got into that, either.

Must confess, though. Doesn’t suck to be called a stud by a chick! Thanks.

  103. Brandie says:

    Thanks Michael Plandon!

  104. Arriba Wilver says:

I thought he gap had a personal limit of $10,000. Bet aside, ?I agree with you,

  105. Arriba Wilver says:

    He gap? *he had

  106. Brandie says:

    My pleasure Studly Do Right!

  107. And you mine, young lass.

Here’s a vibe for you. It’s about the Lord (oops, sports blog no no) but it reminded me of you.

    Guy has a great voice.

  108. Brandie says:

Ya got me on that one Goody Toochca!

  109. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Home in time to watch the game.

Just in time to watch Jordy strike out.

    Glad Barmes isn’t starting anymore.

  110. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

I really really really hate this team.

  111. Arriba Wilver says:

That would be pretty funny if you changed it to the Trib and draped it over the Pirates Charities sign.

    What would DK do?

  112. Arriba Wilver says:

Brandie–a girl after my own heart.

  113. Andrew says:

I’ll second that, and another really.

  114. Brandie says:

Oh Revvie! Things happen for a reason and a special hand placed me where I am now. I will never be able to say thank you enough. The best I can do is honor those who support me in any way I can.

BTW…I love the way you express yourself. :)

  115. Arriba Wilver says:

My gripe was always the same, Rev. All you had to do was sit there one time. Despite the nostalgia, there weren’t too many complaints at the time to move to a TRS type bowl. Ah, memories.

  116. Arriba Wilver says:

Gallardo has always been tough on the Bucs, but . . .

  117. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

  118. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

I have nothing but respect for the Cards and some for the Reds, though not indivual players, the Cubs are irrelevant, but these guys, I despise.

  119. Karen22 says:

    Marvy…how’s yourself?

  120. Andrew says:

    Lucroy is stealing strikes tonight.

  121. Karen22 says:

  122. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Scooter and Cutch friends.

Greg Brown, moving from Cinncinnati to Sarasota, FL is not a big sacrifice.

My parents moved from Pittsburgh to Sarasota.

  123. Brandie says:

  124. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Good piece of hitting by Pedro.

  125. Brandie says:

Happier than a hippo in his pond! (That’s pretty dang happy!)

  126. The Gunner says:

Volquez is keeping the Bucs in the game so far. Now we need some offense!

  127. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

They just showed NMR feeding her face with Nachos.

  128. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

So far, zero complaints about his performance.

As usual, always complaints about the offense.

  129. theplanisworking says:

    You are just too much!
Root the Bucs on. Imma outta here.
    Good seeing you tonight.

  130. Sweet Jimmie,

I hear Travis’ voice coming through your fingers!!!

  131. The Gunner says:

    Another opportunity squandered.

  132. Baywatch says:

Bummer!! To me, Gallardo doesn’t have his normal Pirate-buzzing pinpoint stuff. That’s just my perspective as Bay Searage!

  133. Patrick(ri) says:

Late to the blog, but as for disliking the Brewers, I generally agree , except for their shortstop, who is terrific. I also find it hard to dislike Aramis.

  134. Florida Steeler says:

Nice place but getting very crowded during season. Poor road planning and when the large mall on University is completed this fall, that area will be a quagmire.

  135. The Gunner says:

Volquez has another 1-2-3 inning. This offense has got to start coming alive. Enough is enough!!!

  136. OK Guys. Tonight is Maundy Thursday and I always go to church on that day. Just got out.

Tell me what the score is and how they got them.

  137. Milo Hamilton says:

  138. Daquido_Bazzini says:

Why would a Pirate fan let Mark Reynolds catch that ball in the 1st base stands?
    It’s fair game there!!!!

  139. Baywatch says:

Groat, 2-run homer by Cutch; RBI singles by Aramis and Lucroy.

  140. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Pedro just missed a gift

  141. Andrew says:

Where the guys in front not heavy enough?

  142. Milo Hamilton says:

If there’s an excuse, he’ll find one.

  143. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

I don’t know Bay, stuff looks pretty good to me.

  144. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Yea. They should’ve gave him an elbow or 3

  145. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Good news is, Gallargo should be done.

  146. Florida Steeler says:

Hope Gaby and Snider are not returning to their norm.

  147. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Aramis makes it easy for me to dislike.

Won’t say I hate him, he’s not Ryan Braun level, but he drives me nuts.

  148. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Oh it has been, for a long time, of course I haven’t been there in a few years.

    Where are you?

  149. Andrew says:

Did the Brewers just pinch bunt?

  150. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Volquez only at 73 pitches this far, very efficient.

  151. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Russell Martin showing off that arm again.

  152. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Sure did.

Pretty sure I might’ve used a pitcher there, if I have one that can handle the bat.

  153. Andrew says:

That was a bad inning for the Brewers, I’ll take it.

  154. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Absolutely ugly…..much appreciated.

  155. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Absolutely ugly…..much appreciated.

  156. Andrew says:

“If you play for one, one is all you will get” Earl Weaver.

  157. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Josh Harrison is about equal to a pitcher when handling the bat.

Waste of a roster spot IMO.

  158. Eric Bowser says:

Uncle Ray-Ray has done it again… Volquez does the job again.

  159. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

All we need at this point.

  160. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Yup. Very impressive

  161. Andrew says:

    Remember John MacDonald?

  162. Milo Hamilton says:

    Yep. Completely useless. :)

  163. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Just kidding!!!

  164. Patrick(ri) says:

    Nice bunt.

  165. Eric Bowser says:

    Josh Harrison….

    Yes! Yes! Yes!

  166. Andrew says:

    Suboptimal baseball, right there.

  167. Lad 9 says:

J Hay!! And I trashed him earlier today too!

  168. JRay3 says:

JHAY redeems himself with an absolute blast! More importantly it puts a very deserving Volquez in line for the win.

  169. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Reverse psychology Milo

  170. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

I just bashed him when he came out to PH.

  171. Thundercrack says:

I guess Josh Harrison remembered how to hit

  172. Andrew says:

Bad full inning for the Brewers.

  173. Milo Hamilton says:

Flyers losing their composure & the Rangers making them pay the way you’re supposed to, by scoring on the power play. Rangers lead 4-1 late 3rd.

  174. JRay3 says:

Marte using his speed as an asset, Brewers beginning to unravel…couldn’t happen to a better group.

  175. Eric Bowser says:

Wow.. Marte didn’t look at catcher for ball… keep it up

  176. Lad 9 says:

And one good at bat does not invalidate your point. He really is nearly useless.

  177. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Brewers let the sloppy inning carry over.

Personally, I think the manager was overthinking the whole situation.

  178. Florida Steeler says:

On another subject, the Rangers looked very good tonight.

  179. The Gunner says:

Volquez has become our ace so far in 2014.

  180. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Sounds good to me…..

  181. Andrew says:

I saw the Flyers failed to get a shot in two separate 7 minute stretches.

  182. Baywatch says:

He may have bought a little more time in the ‘Burgh with that hit. I was seriously hoping he’d be busted back to Indy soon.

  183. Milo Hamilton says:

In the 3rd period the Flyers have a double minor for high sticking, 2 minors for slashing & one for cross-checking. And the Rangers just laughed at them.

  184. Arriba Wilver says:

I’m with Patrick—Aramis didn’t force the Pirates to trade him for nothing. He probably was as surprised as the rest of us.

  185. Florida Steeler says:

  186. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Zach Duke seems to have changed his delivery.

  187. JRay3 says:

This is the Brewers bullpen we all know and love.

  188. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Yea, but I’ll let it slide for tonight.

  189. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Throw the challenge flag !!!

  190. Arriba Wilver says:

That looked like a hugely wrong call.

  191. Andrew says:

    He is in there.

  192. Arriba Wilver says:

Pedro was safe by a minimum of 6 inches.

  193. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Sure has.

  194. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

To the umps credit, the ball beat Pedro by 6 feet

  195. Arriba Wilver says:

The ball got there, but the tag was late.

  196. Milo Hamilton says:

MLB should hire Jeff Triplette to handle replay reviews. Imagine the suspense.

  197. Andrew says:

    Not sure what just happened.

  198. Milo Hamilton says:

There’s a really good chance that was him right there.

  199. Thundercrack says:

During every steal of second base the ump has been standing behind the runner. I have no idea how can see if the runner is safe or out.

  200. Arriba Wilver says:

Despite my feelings, I don’t have a problem with the call. The one angle from center field was ambiguous. Not clear and convincing.

  201. Florida Steeler says:

How about Phil Luckette??? The infamous coin toss call.

  202. Eric Bowser says:

Amazing how I can sit here with my Verizon Fios DVR and do a frame-by-frame and see that Pedro Alvarez was safe.

If you are going to have replay in MLB, it can’t screw up obvious calls like that.

  203. Milo Hamilton says:

Good one. I was always partial to Bernie Kukar. You just never knew with that guy. Anything could happen.

  204. JRay3 says:

Mark Melancon has looked very 2013 esque over his last few appearances, pounding the zone and getting quick outs.

  205. Milo Hamilton says:

    Channel 576.

  206. Florida Steeler says:

    Right–Bernie was a classic.

  207. Eric Bowser says:

Maybe I could buy that if you were using a VCR from 1985 to go frame-by-frame but a digital device is pretty easy to do frame-by-frame. I’d like to know how I can see the foot hit the bag prior to the tag on my DVR frame-by-frame but MLB and their billion dollar business cannot?

  208. Eric Bowser says:

very important to get him throwing nasty stuff.

  209. Wild Bill says:

Got home from church with the score 2 – 2. Seeing the best part of the game, I guess.

Pedro got hosed, but Gaby nails the pole!

  210. Andrew says:

Well the Pirates might get him back now.

  211. Arriba Wilver says:

    Baby’s the man!

  212. Eric Bowser says:

is there any other way to watch a hockey, baseball, or football game than HD?

  213. Arriba Wilver says:

  214. Arriba Wilver says:

  215. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

I agree, but this goes back to old -school umping, which replay SHOULD be squashing, but just #failed

  216. Wild Bill says:

It’s ok, AW. Auto correct got me earlier today.

  217. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

  218. Florida Steeler says:

We are usually pretty tough on the umpires–the home plate ump has called a very good game tonight.

  219. Eric Bowser says:

pitching for the Brewers…. Sum Ting Wong

  220. Wild Bill says:

Yeah, but the ones in New York are blind.

  221. Milo Hamilton says:

If not for the DVR I couldn’t sync up Mike Lange to the TV. (Comcast 843 for me).

  222. Wild Bill says:

Tabata thought that was gone; good thing he made it to second.

  223. JRay3 says:

Wang might be pitching for Bradenton tomorrow.

  224. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

How about Tabby walking like he got it…..

  225. Eric Bowser says:

Don’t really enjoy watching football live… baseball and hockey is different story, love it.

  226. Milo Hamilton says:

This is a swerve by the Brewers (staying with the wrestling theme). They figure if we knock this poor kid all over the place we won’t want him back.

  227. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Wang pitch…..

  228. Eric Bowser says:

    wise, wise man.

For most part, I’ve learned to tune out Steigerwald and Errey.

  229. Florida Steeler says:

Mike Wilbon would call Tabby a “Knucklehead”.

  230. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

  231. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Beat me to it

  232. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

1 foot to the left and it is gone.

Much like my golf ball, sliced a tad.

  233. Florida Steeler says:

    ha-ha–we all have that problem.

  234. Andrew says:

    Effortless Power.

  235. Eric Bowser says:

    What a swing by Alvarez!

  236. JRay3 says:

Ho hum just another opposite field HR for El Toro this year, now six blasts in first 16 games.

  237. Milo Hamilton says:

The evil side of Rule 5.

  238. Eric Bowser says:

Oh, there’s no slicing just a tad… this lefty slices a ton.

  239. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Yea, but we didn’t just look like a jack-ass on TV. Better be sure Tabby!!

  240. Wild Bill says:

Milo, what’s the story on that kid? I’ve missed it.

  241. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

This lefty that swings righty (in golf only) can take it left-to-right with the best of them.

  242. Lad 9 says:

Hmmmm. If I could equate my golf game to baseball, I would be a hall of famer at PNC. Everything I hit finds the water….

  243. Baywatch says:

  244. JohninOshkosh says:

    Wang, It’s a parking lot.

  245. Wild Bill says:

    That’s really “dripping with power”!

  246. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

And that’s why guys love a high fast ball….you make contact and it flys.

  247. Florida Steeler says:

    Hey Andy,
Did I see you coaching again the other night with Lloyd McClendon??

  248. Milo Hamilton says:

He’s ours. One year in the minors, last year at Bradenton. Milwaukee chose him in the Rule 5. If they contend they can’t carry him all year. Think Miguel Batista back in the early 90’s.

  249. Milo Hamilton says:

    Don’t tell him you’re Jewish.

  250. The Gunner says:

Pedro is on pace for 60 dingers this year

  251. Wild Bill says:

Thanks. Do we really want him back?

  252. Milo Hamilton says:

Bryan Morris 2.0 cleans it up.

  253. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

  254. Wild Bill says:

That was a fun three innings! Somebody wake Jandy and tell her.

  255. Milo Hamilton says:

    See, their swerve worked. :)

  256. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    At a .180 batting average

  257. Lad 9 says:

Raise it! Good to see the long ball back up our new ace, Edinson Volquez. Always nice to beat these clowns.

  258. The Gunner says:

Your boy is on the post game show

  259. JRay3 says:

Behind another quality start from Edison Volquez who goes seven strong, a Josh Harrison pinch hit HR in the 7th and a couple of blasts late the Bucs pound the Brewers 11-2 in the opener of the four game set an there was noooooo doubt about it.

With the win the Bucs are back at .500 at 8-8 and are now 5-2 at PNC.

The Bucs will look to make it two straight tomorrow night when Charlie Morton takes the hill.

    Go Bucs!

  260. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

He’ll go back to Bradenton. So who cares.

  261. I loved TRS, also. Parking lots, no I-beams, turf, easy access from all areas. I know it was cookie=cutter but it was great for the time.

I haven’t been to PNC yet. Some day.

  262. Bizrow says:

    Yes, we want him back

Only 21, coming of TJ surgery

    Nasty stuff

I think he has only played in Low A

  263. Andrew says:

First base, but the Mariners moved the fences in and signed a lineup of first base power hitter so there is not a lot to do.

  264. Bizrow says:

So much for the lucky hat theory ;-)

  265. The Gunner says:

Yep, Ryan – Pedro just does things differently, that’s all

  266. Andrew says:

Won’t he be exposed to Rule 5, for eternity unless he makes the 40 man.

  267. Wild Bill says:

So did everyone express their affection for Braun?

  268. Eric Bowser says:

If you enjoy hockey, you might want to watch the final few minutes in St. Louis between the Blues and Blackhawks.

Lord Stanley, Lord Stanley, bring me my brandy.

  269. Eric Bowser says:

    Goal…. Jaden Schwartz…. we’ve got a tied game, 3-3.

    What action in this game.

  270. JD says:

    Good one. I loved Rodney.

  271. Karen22 says:

  272. Daquido_Bazzini says:

Nothing wrong with kicking the crap outta the Brewers!

  273. The Brewers always seem to have the drop on the Bucs in Milwaukee while the Bucs always do better against them at home. Anyhow, they really tore the Brewers up tonight, which leads me to wonder why they can’t do that more often.

  274. Bizrow says:

Yup, just thinking you cannot hide him if one is in the race

Playing one man short most days

  275. JohninOshkosh says:

Tremendous game. Hard to believe this is a first round match up.

  276. Bizrow says:

  277. KenKopp says:

92 pitches by the Buc hurlers.

  278. Andrew says:

I agree Biz, cannot see him sticking only 2nd appearance tonight. I think he would have to survive another Rule 5, before he makes the Pirates 40 man, but what do I know.

  279. Arriba Wilver says:

That’s a really interesting statistic. Good stuff.

  280. Arriba Wilver says:

Rev, you really have to come up. I’d even go to church with you. ;-)
