Comments

  1. Sorry, I pushed the wrong button when I thought I put this up just before first pitch of the second game. Anyway, here it is in the fourth inning. Hopefully, it still helps, as the Game 1 thread is 350 comments deep.

  2. Thundercrack says:

Holy crap, how did Tillman last this long?

  3. cberry88 says:

Quick, keep putting up more game threads! It seems to be working!

    3-0!

  4. Milo Hamilton says:

This Meek seems to have a live arm.

  5. tdb1977 says:

Patience at the plate Marte. Patience.

  6. tdb1977 says:

And Marte says – Screw patience!

  7. tdb1977 says:

What’s this? 4 runs for the Pirates. The offense has somehow awaken in the second game of the DH.

  8. Thundercrack says:

The Rays just swept the doubleheader against the Red Sox in Fenway.
    Good for them.

  9. Baywatch says:

    Yay, Gaby! :-)

  10. Patrick(ri) says:

Snider appears headed to the interstates, joining several teamates

  11. Breakthestreak says:

For the life of me, I can’t see what the Bucs see in Snider. He really does nothing well. But I ‘ve read he is a good cook. Maybe he can get on with his life’s work as a cook at Applebee’s

  12. Florida Steeler says:

    Montreal beat the Bruins.

  13. Patrick(ri) says:

Gabby is competing in game two! Nice hits.

  14. Patrick(ri) says:

Matte drilled this guy in game one. Seems like he throws to his hot zone.

  15. Florida Steeler says:

Couldn’t listen to Bob Walk any longer. Oriole’s announcers are excellent. Pirates are 6 for 30 in todays doubleheader with RISP. Great offense Neal.

  16. Arriba Wilver says:

How are those Flyers doing? I’ve been out of touch.

  17. Patrick(ri) says:

Gutsy pitch on the 0-1 count!

  18. Reading says:

    Dripping with inability.

  19. Lad 9 says:

Even if you are not ready to bring up Polanco, at least bring up Lambo! Snider needs to be gone. He is not a major league ball player.

  20. Reading says:

It’s over! Pirates draft pick Wieters goes yard! A great win for the Bucs! Wait. … What? Oh, not a Pirates’ draftee.

  21. Chuck H says:

They (the Bucs) are going to be looking up at the Cubbies if they don’t get some hitters soon. In the first game, they were 1 for 14 with RISP. That stinks!!!

  22. The Gunner says:

    Laddie

It is definitely time to cut ties with underachiever & “bad legs” Snider. The BMTIB will have to eat his contract but so what? Lambo will provide much more value to the offensively starved Buccos.

  23. Jandy says:

what, you mean you haven’t been golfing?

  24. Chuck H says:

If those games with the Orioles didn’t push the panic button for Pirate management, I don’t know what will. The biggest problem is lack of hitting with RISP. Sure, they get men on base, then the next batters will either strike out, pop up or hit into DP. Then, there’s Ike Davis, who has turned into an automatic out, like most of the batting order is. Has being a Pirate made him forget how to hit? Then we have Travis Snider, who definitely doesn’t belong on any major league team, along with the two shortstops, one who never could hit and the other who has forgotten how to hit. I notice that some of the other teams have an active stream of minor leaguers being given trials with the big team. Why don’t Pirate management do the same. Polanco and Lambo have earned another chance with the Bucs, and McGuiness is playing real well for Indy.

  25. Chuck H says:

But the defense and relief pitching let it get away.
