Hey Peeps – dunno if this was posted before, but there are times I miss Fraser.
Good take on the Staal thuggery….

  2. DK had that on his Twitter. Good read, even for us non-hockey efficianados.

  3. Or aficionodos I should say.

  4. Boy, (Look!) would it be easy to take this game for granted tonight.

Pens need to put Rangers down early, before King Henry gets impenetrable and the Rangers get the idea they have life going back to MSG.

  5. theplanisworking says:

    It’s ok, Reverend.

    Eye can’t spell eether. ;)

  6. :D

Yeah, this isn’t a spelling bee, is it?

  7. theplanisworking says:

Pens need to win tonight, to get some much needed rest. The Broonz-Canadiens are tied at 2 games each……….. would be great to get 4-5 days of rest to heal.

    GO PENS !!!

  8. Karen22 says:

Busy night in the Burgh! GO TEAMS!!! :)

  9. theplanisworking says:

  10. Karen22 says:

    You can say that again!

  11. JohninOshkosh says:

Pens gotta, musta, willa win tonight. In regulation, please, so that I don’t miss the start of the Wild game. :)

Looking for some early goals to set the tone. And, no retaliation! Save it for next year, boys.

Dejan has the game starting at 7:40…Pens site says 7:00. Can someone confirm?

  14. Carlos Danger says:

Great poem. I always liked the last line too “And—which is more—you’ll be a Man my son!”

  15. theplanisworking says:

    4-letter network has a 7:00 start.

  18. Pucknutz says:

    LETS GO PENS!!!!!

    End it tonight !!!!!

  19. Barb says:

Put the Rags out of their misery.

  20. theplanisworking says:

    And ours. ;)

  21. BillyBaduka says:

  22. BillyBaduka says:

    LET’S GO PENS!!!!

    LET’S GO PENS!!!!

    LET’S GO PENS!!!!

    LET’S GO PENS!!!!

  23. Carlos Danger says:

I still hope the fans give St Louis an acknowledgement. That is tough. Especially right before Mother’s Day. He could probably use the support. Some things transcend sports.

  24. Sarah says:

    Hank is on tonight

  25. J Walter Weatherman says:

I hope this doesn’t surprise anyone. Why would the Pens make it easy on themselves? It not the Penguins way.

  26. Milo Hamilton says:

Someone wake me if they show the least amount of interest.

  27. theplanisworking says:

    ++++++++

  28. Florida Steeler says:

Does Letang know there is a hockey game tonight??

  29. J Walter Weatherman says:

Sometimes hockey is simple and it comes down to effort. This is one of those times.

  30. Wild Bill says:

How can this team be so flat???

  31. Barb says:

    I’ll be watching the Buccos.

  32. Sarah says:

Good point by Doc et al that a stupid play under no pressure by Letang caused the icing and the faceoff in the D end.
That said, everyone else including Sid was standing around in that goal too.

  33. radio wave says:

    It’s early, won’t last.

  34. Florida Steeler says:

What power play?? One lousy shot.

  35. Milo Hamilton says:

    Infuriating.

  36. Randy says:

You get tired of hearing all the pre-game blather about coming out strong and keeping the Rangers from gaining momentum.

  37. theplanisworking says:

Listening to the Pens (why??), watching the Bucs, following the draft on the computer.

I am about to ditch this game.
How can a team come out so flat, when they could go for the kill in the series?

    GO RIVERPUPPIES !!!

  38. Sarah says:

We have an awful record closing series at home under Bylsma. Something like 1 for 6?….he does not seem to be able to get them to focus on slamming the door.
    Very frustrating.

  39. Wild Bill says:

This game smells like we disrespected the Rangers, who didn’t get the memo that they can’t beat us.

  40. Andrew says:

Apparently the Rangers can play hockey.

  41. scapper says:

Easy there. The Rangers are a very good team playing an elimination game. They are having something to do with the way the game has gone so far.

Pens just won three straight and 5 of 6. They just won two road playoff games. They are 7-3 this post-season and have yet to lose a game in regulation. They might lay an egg this game, which would suck, but this team has shown a remarkable ability to shake off any loss and get back at it.

That being said, they are going to win this game. Rangers aren’t going to sustain this for two more periods.

  42. Jandy says:

    +++++

  43. MadTurk says:

No hustle, no hitting, no fight in the corners = no score for the Pens

  44. scapper says:

C’mon, Plan! Stick with it. This Pens team comes back a lot. Hang in there!

  45. MadTurk says:

hopefully they show up for the next 2 periods

  46. radio wave says:

    Now that’s multi tasking!

  47. Jandy says:

I hope you’re right scapper, and it’s early. Someone layndown the law in the locker room. They better come out.flying for the second. Focus!

  48. hockeymonster says:

Need to move puck quicker on retrievals. Talkin to you bortuzzo. And everyone else for that matter. They want to pressure and back pressure. Support is fine but certain players are trying to skate with the puck instead of moving it quick then moving their feet.

  49. Jandy says:

    Pass the memo, Monster Mash!

  50. theplanisworking says:

Well, this rain has made me achy and sore, so I just might turn in early. I just cannot believe this team is so flat!

  51. theplanisworking says:

    :D

    Always good at that.
I forgot to say I have a puppy that demands attention also.

  52. Milo Hamilton says:

Well, he’s the only one that showed up.

  53. Jandy says:

    Now that’s better

  54. Florida Steeler says:

    Great play Gino

  55. Carlos Danger says:

Melissa stark reminds me a lot of Debbie flaherty from day automotive. Random thought alert.

  56. theplanisworking says:

    Indeed.

At least one player showed up tonight.

  57. Sarah says:

How do you say filthy in Russian??

  58. theplanisworking says:

    грязный

  59. Milo Hamilton says:

    Debbie Flaherty > Corinna Diehl.

  60. Jandy says:

    Gotta build on that

  61. theplanisworking says:

    this is a good thing?

  62. Carlos Danger says:

Corinna Diehl freaks me out a little bit. I’m not gonna lie.

  63. Jandy says:

I just lost my dinner. Fake beyotch.lol

  64. Jandy says:

    Lol

  65. Jandy says:

    Ovechkin?

  66. Jandy says:

ohhh you mean the GOOD filthy.;)

  67. theplanisworking says:

    No, that is narcissistic. ;)

  68. Carlos Danger says:

It was just a quick observation. Didn’t mean to offend either way.

  69. Wild Bill says:

Steelers take Stephon Tuitt from Notre Dame

  70. Jandy says:

    All good Carlos.:)

  71. Sarah says:

    спасибо !

  72. theplanisworking says:

    Oh, no offense taken.

When mentioning women, no offense should ever be taken, unless Jandy is talking about her bud Miley Cyrus. ;) ;)

  73. Jandy says:

    Who? Lol

  74. Jandy says:

Da*n now they’re trying to get too cute

  75. Florida Steeler says:

What the H is Fleury doing??

  76. Milo Hamilton says:

James Neal & Rick Nash are the same guy.

  77. theplanisworking says:

    Good night, Nun.
I have heard enough, saw the Stillerz pick, and Bucs are winning.

Have a great weekend……. I will be watching a charity basketball game tomorrow.

  78. Jandy says:

You mean your buddy, Planimal. I don’t like skanks

  79. Wild Bill says:

    D end

  80. Carlos Danger says:

I work in an office where I am the only male amongst 18 females. These sports chats are often all that keep me close to same. And I am hyper-sensitive towards offending anyone. Thanks for the reassurance!

  81. Milo Hamilton says:

That rare combination of knee high boots & collagen.

  82. Florida Steeler says:

Get him out of the net!!!

  83. Carlos Danger says:

    *sane

  84. Jandy says:

Night Plansy. The way this game is going…I may do the same

  85. Milo Hamilton says:

They gotta yank Fleury. Just awful.

  86. Jandy says:

    Thanks Wild One

  87. Florida Steeler says:

    Danny won’t.

  88. Jandy says:

    He’s definitely rattled

  89. Jandy says:

    Scary thought

  90. Jandy says:

OMG Carlos! You have my condolences. Women are lethal in the office. God bless you!

  91. Carlos Danger says:

And also eyebrows that are painted on? The clown look is the stuff that nightmares are made of.

  92. Jandy says:

    :snicker:

  93. Carlos Danger says:

It’s a lot to handle sometimes. But I have the ability to tune a lot out. Earmuffs. But thanks for the condolences

  94. Sarah says:

And only three more years of Scuderi!

  95. hockeymonster says:

The way geno is hoppin might be good idea to put him back with neal to get him going.

  96. Florida Steeler says:

Neal is a no show all series.

  97. Andrew says:

It is hard to beat a team four games in a row, especially when you help them out.

  98. Carlos Danger says:

Only 3? I hope we can extend him.

  99. Sarah says:

Happens every playoffs. He had a hat trick once but that’s about it in 5 yrs.

  100. hockeymonster says:

Sometimes you just don’t have your legs.

  101. Milo Hamilton says:

Rangers now have the edge on the power play.

  102. Florida Steeler says:

We need Lundquist. Pathetic 5 on 3.

  103. Wild Bill says:

Dreadful, embarrassing hockey. The Pens were not prepared to play so far this evening.

  104. J Walter Weatherman says:

Are we back on Crosby injury watch? Cause he’s been horrible.

Is James Neal still playing on the Pens?

Still up 3-2 in series, so no panic, but we’re seeing what happens when the Pens play a rested team playing with energy. Imagine when that is combined with talent, ala Bruins or any WC team … not good.

  105. Carlos Danger says:

This is tough to watch. I agree with Andrew about the difficulties in winning 4 in a row, but I feel like this is different given the rangers exhaustion/ mental state. Sometimes we seem to lack that killer instinct. They need to summon their inner Walter White and do what they need to do.

  106. Sarah says:

No excuse for that 5 on 3. Everything that is wrong with the coach and the team right there.

  107. radio wave says:

Serius question? If game 6, day/ time?

  108. Jandy says:

I would imagine Sunday. I’m on my phone and not good at multi tasking on it

  109. Milo Hamilton says:

The Penguins have never won a home Game 7 after losing a road Game 6.

  110. Jandy says:

Before I get totally disgusted, I’d like to niminate Kerry Fraser for Shanahan’s job

  111. Milo Hamilton says:

But crosschecks to the back of the head are OK.

  112. Jandy says:

    Garage League

  113. Jandy says:

Then I guess they have to win game 6

  114. JohninOshkosh says:

    radio:

Sunday, for sure. Interwebs says time is TDB.

  115. Sarah says:

This is the Game where they should just wreck Staal. Have Scuderi or Adams just drop the gloves, pound him into meatloaf and take the suspension. Then bring up Engo.

  116. Jandy says:

I don’t think Scuderi is capable of that.

  117. Florida Steeler says:

How can they play so poorly with little effort??

  118. Jandy says:

Oshie, I hope your Mild plays Wild and wins tonight!

  119. JohninOshkosh says:

The bad news, for the Penguins, is that home ice in SC playoffs appears irrelevant.

The good news, for the Penguins, is that home ice in SC playoffs appears irrelevant

  120. JohninOshkosh says:

Thanks. I expect Chi to bounce back big time, though.

  121. Jandy says:

    Sheesh…dumb move Hobbit

  122. Jandy says:

    We can dream…

  123. JohninOshkosh says:

    *TBD*

  124. Milo Hamilton says:

Absolutely. But then again they would have to expend energy for that.

  125. Jandy says:

    I guess Jussi had enough

  126. Jandy says:

it’s expend energy or go golfing

  127. Jandy says:

3 – 3 top of 7th. Jeanmar in for Liriiano

  128. J Walter Weatherman says:

You guys are so negative on here. The Pens haven’t given up a goal in the 3rd period yet. That’s outstanding defensive work!

  129. Jandy says:

    Lol

  130. Jandy says:

Congrats to your boys radio…they showed up tonight

  131. Jandy says:

    4 – 3 Redbirds top of 7th. Wilson pitching

  132. Jandy says:

Ha! I see a lot of empty seats at Consol

  133. Randy says:

One pathetic display. Crosby is not much of an inspirational leader.

  134. Jandy says:

    Good night everyone

  135. hockeymonster says:

Atleast i’ll get to see a game on my bday.

  136. The Bucs came back after that rain delay to beat the Cardinals and win their third straight, which made this particular fan feel better, although still disgusted with the Pens’ performance tonight.

  137. Karen22 says:

Who IS this team???? I have NO idea. Just UGH!

  138. DJ says:

Horrible effort tonight. Expected big things and no one delivered, except Geno.

Watched Neal a good bit off the puck. Must have been out until 2:00 a.m. because he was sleepwalking the entire game. Zero puck support. Let everyone struggle with the heavy lifting retrieving pucks deeps while he passed time near the blue line waiting for an outlet pass to take up ice. Someone suggested possibility of trading Neal a day or two ago. For right price, I’d do it. Earlier suggestion was straight up for Evander Kane. Would do that in a NY minute, but Jets wouldn’t.

5 on 3 was pathetic. As bad in person as it looked on TV. Why Dan B had Letang out there for what appeared to be the entirety is beyond me.

    Flower two soft ones tonight.

Goc handed two on a silver platter 5 feet from net and buried neither.

    Sid mediocre.

HCDB now 1-7 in last 8 series on home ice where we could close out a series. Again, 1 for last 7 on home ice.

Need to move on to NY and pray no Game 7 for Fleury.

  139. theplanisworking says:

Instead of clinching the series, and getting much-needed rest, the Penguins came out flat, played flat, and richly deserved this loss.

This was the sign of a poorly coached team in all areas tonight, and one that does not deserve to win this series with another performance like this.

But, lets hear how people who dare question an effort like this, and a coaching job like this are “BYLSMA HATERS”.
