  2. The Gunner says:

Desperately need the Good Cholly to show up tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. We’re disabling autoplay on the CineSport videos. Never let it be said that I run this place. It’s all yours.

That said, you’re now under MORAL OBLIGATION to click on those videos and REALLY ENJOY THEM at least once. If not, there will be lasting repercussions.

    I kid. But not really.

  4. Maz in Iowa says:

Wanta make yourself sick?Check out Bob Gibson’s stats.255 complete games!!

  5. Thundercrack says:

As I mentioned on the last thread, I thought I heard yesterday that Gabby was going to start for a few games in a row

  6. Handers says:

This Cub series is critical….. Pirates need to come out firing tonight.

  7. NMR says:

But Ike is 5-8 with 2 doubles and a homer* against EJAC.

    *Unconfirmed

  8. Nate83 says:

Just the homer is unconfirmed or the entire stat line? :)

  9. 21sthebest says:

    I’m seeing 3-9 with a homer.

  10. Brandie says:

Jandy and Stuart will love you for spreading the news.

  11. Brandie says:

My guess is Ike’s very existence is unconfirmed.

  12. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    ****QUESTION****

If you were an MLB closer, what would your entrance song be?

  13. JohninOshkosh says:

Thank you, Dejan and Trib Media. And, I will watch them! I watch all your embedded vids.

  14. Playoffs by 2012 says:

For me it would be ‘Lost Patrol’ by Big Country.
Great song by an under-rated band.

  15. Nate83 says:

Ahhhh!!!! Tough crowd. He hasn’t completely disappeared. He leads the team in grand slams.

  16. Playoffs by 2012 says:

“If not, there will be lasting repercussions.”

    Pay site in the future?

  17. JohninOshkosh says:

“This Ain’t No Picnic” by the Minutemen, or “TV Party” by Black Flag.

Or that one song by the Black Eyed Peas that Dejan loves.

  18. Nate83 says:

I would like to wager 50 fake units on “Let it Go”. Just kidding I hate that song and the next kid who sings it to me may put me into jail.

Let’s go with “Highway to the Danger Zone”. Maybe “Jump Around” by House of Pain because it’s the only valuable thing Fred Durst has ever contributed to society. Then I remembered he wasn’t in house of Pain and that was just something everybody thought so he has contributed nothing to society.

  19. Brandie says:

    The Theme From Shaft…Isaac Hayes.

  20. Maz in Iowa says:

    Barracuda by Heart

  21. NMR says:

    Haha, I was close.

  22. Arriba Wilver says:

I’m very disappointed. My info was it wasn’t a problem.

  23. TCB says:

    “Another One Bites the Dust”.

  24. Brandie says:

Second suggestion…Make It Funky by James Brown.

  25. Brandie says:

    Hi Johnny Dangerously.

  26. Thundercrack says:

Yes. That band was under rated.

  27. Maz in Iowa says:

2 picks have agreed to terms today.Sixth round pick Tyler Eppler and 18th round pick Erik Lunde

  28. Thundercrack says:

Loved when Biemel would come in to this song.

I looked it up a few months ago – and downloaded it from iTunes.

  29. Stuart says:

THANK YOU MUCHO! I like to watch the morning Java vid (Once).

    Did I say Thank You?

    Thanks

  30. JRay3 says:

Well some good news coming out of Bucs camp after the gut wrenching loss yesterday.

Gerrit Cole was on the field throwing under the supervision of Ray Searage, so that has to be seen as a very positive sign.

Also, the Bucs have agreed with their first round pick Cole Tucker for 1.8 M which is under slot by about 125 K which hopefully can be used on guys like Keller and Supak. Heard the kid on radio out here and you immediately grasp his love of the game, said his parents DVR’d the draft and it was not until the next morning he woke up and watched his name being called and than has watched it every day since. Has to be very exciting for a 17 year old. Also in the interview they asked when he expects to make his MLB debut and he calmly responded in 2018. Kid already has goals in place, wish him the best on his journey.

  31. JRay3 says:

Also being reported that Cole Tucker the first round pick has agreed to terms as well.

  32. Stuart says:

    Me to.
    Stu

  33. Brandie says:

    Thank you for the update.

    MAZ!!!!

  34. Stuart says:

    Right Fine Girl.

    Stu

  35. Brandie says:

He seems like a good kid. Wishing him all the best in reaching for the stars.

  36. Stuart says:

BTW, that sentence plays all three ways!

    Stu

  37. Nate83 says:

2018!!!!! But we need a shortstop now :)

  38. NMR says:

Have I mentioned how much I like you, Brandie? ;)

  39. Maz in Iowa says:

    Good evening milady.

  40. JRay3 says:

And a starting pitcher, and a RF from AAA, and a C to resign, the list goes on and on.

  41. Thundercrack says:

So what is Tucker’s Super Two date?

  42. NMR says:

Eesh. Good thing they took 47 college seniors in the first 10 rounds. Gonna need a lot more than that to get Keller and Supak.

Already a big fan of Tucker for not having some ridiculous type of statement like having “tools scouts can dream on” attached to his bio.

  43. NMR says:

    Hope I’m alive.

  44. JohninOshkosh says:

    Hey Bran Muffin.

  45. NMR says:

Ya think the Cubs know Charlie can’t get lefties out?

  46. Maz in Iowa says:

    Mon, 09 Jun 2014 05:08:00 PM
Gerrit Cole threw for the first time since the day after his start in San Diego. He made 25 throws from 60 feet off flat ground.

  47. NMR says:

Remember that week when Emilio Bonifacio was good at baseball?

  48. NMR says:

    How was his plane?

  49. Maz in Iowa says:

    Comments?

  50. Maz in Iowa says:

    He was 11-16

  51. The Gunner says:

not to mention the black cloud that seems to follow Charlie

  52. Maz in Iowa says:

So much for the TJ worries.I know I feel better

  53. Jim S. says:

I was hoping they could save a bit more.

  54. Jim S. says:

    I hope Week 2 doesn’t start tonight.

  55. Jim S. says:

Oh joy! 4 nights of Len Casper and Jim DeShaies for me.

  56. Maz in Iowa says:

Pretty hard to argue with leaving Harrison at leadoff. Harrison carried a 10-game hitting streak into Sunday’s series finale against the Brewers and is batting .330 with 18 runs scored and a .911 OPS when he hits first in the order this season.Hits in 10 of 11 games is awful nice from your leadoff hitter

  57. Chuck H says:

I hope the Bucs can get him out in this series. The Cubbies have a nice bunch of hitters and they would like nothing better than to be standing on top of the Buccos, looking down at them. We would like a sweep, but 3 out of 4 would be nice, too. GO, you bunch of non hitters!!!

  58. Maz in Iowa says:

    Lenny and Squiggy

  59. Chuck H says:

This was meant to be just after the comment about Bonifacio.

  60. cmat0829 says:

the Diamond Backs, according to their intrepid GM Kevin Towers, just drafted a young kid that reminds them of Bob Gibson…so check back in about years, we may have someone who will challenge his record!!! (um, that is sarcastic folks).

Kevin Towers will be working at Subway as a sandwich artist so sadly won’t get to attend the debut. His shift manager, Jerry DiPoto, won’t let him have the day off.

  61. Maz in Iowa says:

    Oh surer!Cub lover. :)

  62. cmat0829 says:

TJ IS ELBOW RELATED… this was all shoulder issues. Can we not inflate this any more than it is?

  63. cmat0829 says:

I have to say, at the risk of being a NH apologist, his comments yesterday across various venues were pretty cogent. Not over the top hyperbole and pretty straight forward. Like his comments re: wanting Polanco to not have too much pressure (this blog is not helping LOL) and how good it would to not have to hit him leadoff from the get-go. Also good to hear they are ok with the supersub keep JayHey in the lineup but across various positions… thought Bob Walk can’t get himself to picture how that could work. Now that SS is opened up as an option, easy to see JayHey getting everyday action (though I’m NOT SOLD on his defense at SS but I’m up to give er a try and see what happens)…..

So now that JayHey would appear to be hitting leadoff, post-Polanco, here is my preferred lineup:

    JayHey LF or SS
    Polanco RF
    Cutch CF
    Walker 2B
    Pedro 3B
    Ike 1B
    Martin C
    Marte LF or Jordy SS
    Pitcher

Though it sounds like NH is angling for a Polanco 7th or 8th in the order to ‘take pressure off’… in that case, you move Ike to 2nd spot, bump Martin up 1 and slot Polanco after Martin.

  64. cmat0829 says:

Super 2 will be abolished in the next CBA… new rule will be for all teams to play their best 25 players at all times, as voted on by MLB Network personalities and Jim Bowden. The new rule will be called the Nutting Rule.

The new CBA will also call for a real-time umpire scorecard to be live broadcast in the lower left of all MLB games, with interactive polling sponsored by AT&T.

  65. cmat0829 says:

delayed due to mechanical issues or ATC ‘flow’ problems. (sorry couldnt resist, sitting in DTW waiting by delayed flight to JFK). Hope they have wifi so i can catch the Bucs game on MLB audio.

  66. Wild Bill says:

Hope we get this series off to a good start. Want some good momentum for when my wife and I are there for Wed. And Thurs. Gotta deal with Samardjia on Thurs., I see.

  67. cmat0829 says:

    nice job spelling Jeff’s name.

  68. Thundercrack says:

I am really starting to dislike Jim Bowden. Even more than I did before.

Today he said Walker and Alvarez would be free agents after next season.
Criticizing the FO and owner is fine. But get your facts correct.

  69. Wild Bill says:

Well, I was going strong up to the “d”. Samardzija – that’s better.

  70. Maz in Iowa says:

Point is our worries should be somewhat placated.

  71. JRay3 says:

Pirates lineup change: Neil Walker is scratched from the lineup, Harrison now playing 2B and Snider now bats second and is in RF.

  72. Maz in Iowa says:

    Tommy John injury? :)

  73. The Gunner says:

this isn’t good – what’s wrong with Walker??

  74. Maz in Iowa says:

Harrison in for his defense? hahaha

  75. JRay3 says:

Polanco not in the Indianapolis Indians lineup tonight…..let the speculation begin!

  76. Maz in Iowa says:

    back

  77. Maz in Iowa says:

    Pot stirrer. :)

  78. Arriba Wilver says:

I’m encouraged they didn’t, even though that might sound strange. They must like the guy.

  79. Patrick(RI) says:

If I did twitter, I would ask DK if he would have stuck around for the 8th, if Mario had been a baseball player?
And I would probably argue his ranking of Stargell above Clemente. Saw them both play, and if Willie had not lost all the cartilage in his knees, I think I would have ended up agreeing with DK.

  80. Thundercrack says:

He is still with the team.

  81. Maz in Iowa says:

    Could be hurt

  82. Arriba Wilver says:

    What did he say?

  83. Maz in Iowa says:

Polanco was kicked in the head by a fan trying to catch a fly ball, but I doubt that has anything to do with his not being in the lineup

  84. theplanisworking says:

    Low Rider by War.

  85. Bizrow says:

If they call Polanco up in the next week, well, could NH be panicking a bit??

  86. Bizrow says:

A bear was seen in Mt Lebanon. Drew is a Lebo grad

    Coincidence??

  87. Patrick(ri) says:

If I understand the format, he seemed to say Honus best, stargell probably next, then Clemente baseball players. And, that Mario was the greatest athlete in Pittsburgh history.

  88. Arriba Wilver says:

    Wonder what the criteria was.

  89. Baywatch says:

Let’s Go Bucs! Evening, Everyone! Be juggling Pirates action with Frank Viola III’s first start as a KNUCLEBALLER with the Lansing Lugnuts, and a woodbat league game, West Virginia Miners vs. Champion City Kings, Prospect League.

  90. Patrick(ri) says:

    No idea. it seemed informal.

  91. The Gunner says:

    Biz

Where was the bear seen in Mt. Lebo?

  92. theplanisworking says:

    HEY BAY!!!

Up here (with a delivered pizza ………)

  93. Thundercrack says:

Nevrett confirms what I heard yesterday about Gabby getting the starts the next few days.

    Hurdle changed his mind

  94. Brandie says:

    Tiny Plancer!!!

  95. Patrick(ri) says:

Seems like we are drawing more and more bunts?

  96. Patrick(ri) says:

    Like that.

  97. Cmat0829 says:

    Marte partay!!!

  98. Baywatch says:

I have MISSED this guy’s PARTAY!

  99. Cmat0829 says:

No. When they moved him to leadoff that was a sign we were getting close. When they bring him up they will think safely past super2 and I think this week is it

  100. theplanisworking says:

    Brandie Cakes!
    Fine Girl!

    All(star) Bran!
    Brandacita!

    93.7 The Bran!

  101. Baywatch says:

Some serious spin on that ball! Way to go, Stew!

  102. The Gunner says:

Morton appears to have it together so far tonight.

  103. Cmat0829 says:

Walker scratched due to abdominal pain, not back as was speculated. Per Greg brown.

  104. Cmat0829 says:

    Good cholly.

  105. pattonbb says:

    Cutch!

  106. Baywatch says:

That does it! We got Snider, Tabata & JHay doing good things for us! Keep Polanco DOWN! :-)

  107. Cmat0829 says:

It’s June. Means it’s cutch time. Clear the deck!!!

  108. Rock Ain't Dead says:

Where’s Walker? Did he get hurt?

  109. Cmat0829 says:

    Scroll up. Abdominal pain. Scratched.

  110. Rock Ain't Dead says:

Thanks just got home and didn’t catch that.

  111. Cmat0829 says:

The pirates schedule to this point has been brutal. Good to see an easier stretch upon us. Take advantage!!!

  112. JRay3 says:

Charlie dealing today, bats doing some damage early.

Very good response and great way to rid bad taste of yesterday.

Cubs, Marlins, Reds, Cubs, Rays, Mets, Dbacks, Phillies in next 26. Now is the time to start a much needed run.

  113. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Nice 3-0 lead for CM.

If he keeps his control down, limit his walks he should have a nice quality start tonight.

Exactly what this staff needs from him

  114. JRay3 says:

Scratched with abdominal pain right before game.

  115. 21sthebest says:

Watching the people in front of me eat and drink is giving me abdominal pain.

  116. Wild Bill says:

Looks like Mel Rojas is having a nice start to his time at Indy. .387 in a very short sample.

  117. Baywatch says:

I believe Morton & Stewart BOTH dropped their jocks on that one!

  118. Brandie says:

    MISS MOLLY!!!

  119. Brandie says:

    FREE ROJAS!!!!

  120. Wild Bill says:

    Waz up, Brandie?

  121. Bizrow says:

Never mind, once again, I am clueless, was half listening. Butler County

  122. Baywatch says:

    LOL!!

  123. Bizrow says:

So if PRNW is down for a DL stint, does NH have any choice but to bring up that fellow??

  124. The Gunner says:

on a consistent basis, I might add

  125. Brandie says:

Feeling groovy Untamed William. Hope all is copasetic with you.

  126. Brandie says:

    Babewatch!!!

  127. Baywatch says:

Brandie! “Betcha By CHAHLEY Wow! You’re The One That I’ve Been Waiting For Forever!” Sung to the tune of the old Stylistics song!

  128. Brandie says:

    Planny Bonaduce.

  129. Brandie says:

    Bob Planier!

  130. Wild Bill says:

    It is. A week off.

  131. theplanisworking says:

    I have his big feet ! ;)

  132. Brandie says:

Wonderful. Hopefully the Buccos will make it worth your while.

  133. Wild Bill says:

Cutch has decided to take the outside pitch to right tonight.

  134. Baywatch says:

Uh, Woman you got THAT right! Woo-Hoo! :-)

  135. Rock Ain't Dead says:

My wife just said Snider looked like a drunk in the backyard on a slip and slide after that score.

Good to see him hitting the ball though.

  136. Brandie says:

My parents have a few of their albums.

  137. Brandie says:

    She’s a keeper.

  138. Wild Bill says:

    Yep and yep.

  139. Brandie says:

He seems to be in a nice consistent groove lately.

  140. Baywatch says:

Why did they let Snider come in with a BUTT-BUSTER there, when he could have come in standing?

  141. Arriba Wilver says:

That one’s gonna leave a Mark, Bay. Ouch.

  142. Baywatch says:

    Ruh-Roh, Rorge!

  143. Brandie says:

Wasn’t The Burt Buster something Suzanne Sommers used to hawk?

    Oh wait…that was Thigh Master.

One of these days I’ll get stuff like that correct.

  144. Brandie says:

Stylistics songs were baby making music.

Come to the blog for the sound of sect 70′s soul.

  145. Brandie says:

    Burt = Butt.

  146. Wild Bill says:

What a stat – the Bucs are 23 – 6 when they score 4 runs in a game.

  147. Rock Ain't Dead says:

    She is Brandie, thanks.

She watches almost every game with me. I’m lucky.

  148. theplanisworking says:

    Remember Brandie,
    all Burts have a butt.

  149. Milo Hamilton says:

    Squeeze.

  150. The Gunner says:

Can Stewart deliver a sacrifice fly???

  151. Milo Hamilton says:

    Cubs thought so too.

  152. Barb says:

Well I see we are paying attention again. Marte what a doofus. Good grief he needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

  153. Milo Hamilton says:

    He didn’t do anything wrong.

  154. Barb says:

Okay but I will say I really dislike squeeze plays because 9 chances out of 10 they don’t work.

  155. Rock Ain't Dead says:

I thought Stewart could have gotten a piece of that. For a pitch out it wasn’t that far outside.

Looked like a Liriano fastball of late…

  156. Thundercrack says:

Are they staying in their seat?

  157. Thundercrack says:

I hope Walker isn’t having problems with his appendix

  158. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Squeeze plays are one of those exciting in baseball.

    Love them

  159. Milo Hamilton says:

The thought had crossed my mind. I’m hoping for bad fish.

  160. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Thigh master!!!

  161. Jandy says:

Turned the game on to see Marte has an RBI double…a single…a stolen base, and he got picked off on a squeeze play lol. At least he’s figuring it out :)

  162. Reading says:

The chances of Stewart getting an actual base knock is about zero, so you may as well try a squeeze. It just blows that the failed squeeze basically erased the good feeling Marte probably had from the line drive into left center field.

  163. JRay3 says:

Solid seven innings from Charlie tonight. Nice to see the Bucs strong some solid pitching efforts together.

  164. JRay3 says:

    “String”

  165. Jandy says:

    Amen!

  166. Milo Hamilton says:

I think you got it Thunder. Jim Colony says it’s more than a tummy ache & it should require the DL.

  167. Milo Hamilton says:

Polanco should be here tomorrow. Harrison will just slide to second base.

  168. Jandy says:

Wow, that was just filthy, Mark!

  169. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    Agree.

This is exactly what the Pirates problem was April-present.

    Not the absents of Polanco

  170. Patrick(ri) says:

Looks like all Marte needed was a chat with DK. Put him on the payroll!

  171. Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Love the way the BP is set up right now. As long as the SP gets to the 6th, they’re money.

Won’t be perfect all year, but majority of the time they will come through

  172. Thundercrack says:

I still think it could be a pulled muscle

  173. Reading says:

    Yay! No weak flair!

  174. JRay3 says:

I’d say a shrub shot is a nice way to snap out of a funk. Hope it gets Ike going.

Pedro another very nice day at the plate.

  175. Jandy says:

And Marte keeps the partay going :D

  176. JRay3 says:

Marte 3-4, 2 RBI night, welcome back Starling.

  177. Jandy says:

Yikes! Whatever Marte had, he passed it on to Stewart….

  178. The Gunner says:

No trip to Indy for #6

  179. Arriba Wilver says:

    You’re such a tease.

  180. Baywatch says:

Is it just me or does Stewart look (and play) more like a machinist than a ball player?

  181. Arriba Wilver says:

    Harrison stinks.

  182. Jandy says:

    Oh mY!

  183. Nate83 says:

No Stewart has always had it. He just forgot that he had it for a couple weeks when his average got close to .300.

  184. Jandy says:

Dang, thought Marte had a homer…

  185. Jandy says:

    lol

  186. The Gunner says:

Stewart just isn’t very impressive. However, Charles Morton was impeccable tonight!!

  187. Jandy says:

That’s just fine by me :)

  188. Nate83 says:

To be fair it will take a lot of bad play for him to get his average back to the .260 it belongs at after that tremendous run he had.

  189. The Gunner says:

Lurch better not screw things up

  190. Arriba Wilver says:

Tongue planted firmly in cheek after hitting it to the wall in right.

  191. Nate83 says:

He caught the game of the pitcher that pitched well tonight. I didn’t expect him to hit much and his defense seems to be as advertised.

  192. Rock Ain't Dead says:

He looks like the Tin Man at the dish tonight.

  193. Nate83 says:

Ahhhhh….my moving dots on the computer screen don’t give me that much detail.

  194. Arriba Wilver says:

    :-)

  195. Rock Ain't Dead says:

That shot Castro hit should have a stewardess on it.

  196. Milo Hamilton says:

And now we await the bad news on Walker. Can’t seem to catch a break.

  197. Jandy says:

    Lurch closed it out :)

  198. JRay3 says:

Great start to the series and a few slumps snapped this evening. Bucs now 2-2 on the seven game home stand, move to 3 under .500.

Important for Liriano to build off of the starts Locke and Morton have given club last two days.

  199. Jandy says:

Raise that jolly shuttlecock!!! (Tribute to buggee!)

  200. Bizrow says:

Used up our magic dust last year

    That was our chance

  201. Bizrow says:

Lame interview by Rob whoever, asking Cutch about the AS game and his chances

I think Cutch might want a bit more on his resume.

Didn’t look like he was dogging at all or hurt tonight BTW ;-)

  202. Bizrow says:

    +

  203. Rock Ain't Dead says:

    Very few breaks this year.

I’m no doctor, but I have to think an appendix would mean close to a month off, no?

  204. Baywatch says:

It’s Dan Potash, Biz, and I agree, but they both seem to be right up there in making a SPECTACLE of themselves while asking the most leading questions. And then he has the GALL to turn to the crowd and say, “Is he making a push for the All-Star game?” like some kind of carnival barker! Sickening!

  205. Baywatch says:

LOL! Hold me closer, Tiny Plancer! LOL!

  206. Maz in Iowa says:

I don’t care what anyone says…..the thought of Harrison at SS is very scary.Snider is an adventure in the OF too.The rest of the team is decent.Well Pedro is a little scary too.Just don’t put Harrison at SS

  207. Arriba Wilver says:

    +++++

It was Dan, and I was thinking the same exact thing as you guys. And Cutch didn’t seem amused by the whole interview. Kinda embarrassing.

I think Dan may miss Bylsma.

  208. Maz in Iowa says:

Jobu must be about 3 shots to the wind.Mahi Ve Baywatch!

  209. Arriba Wilver says:

Good thing Jackson didn’t accept Neal’s offer.

  210. Bizrow says:

Yeah, I got the first name wrong, but got the last name right
    , “whoever” ;-)

Hurdle is on now, does sound like PRNW’s hurting, not an injury,

  211. Baywatch says:

Ha! I’m amazed you remember Maahi Ve, Maz! I actually had forgotten about it until a few weeks ago and looked it up again. Have it on my Spotify playlist now … Bollywood video, Y’all!

  212. Milo Hamilton says:

    Neil Walker – appendectomy.

  213. Rock Ain't Dead says:

Clint very stand offish about Walker questions. Mums the word. Doesn’t sound good.

  214. Bizrow says:

    +++

Wandy is one thing, think of what the bill would be with Jackson and Johnson

They said Gabby was working at 3rd?

Enough infield depth to bring up a rookie in the OF?

  215. Bizrow says:

Sounds like yes, Milo and RADead

  216. Arriba Wilver says:

    +++

  217. Arriba Wilver says:

And they are really interchangeable. If they were female they’d be replaced already. :-D

  218. Eric Bowser says:

Looks like Pirates will be without Neil Walker for awhile… that sucks.

Guessing Walker to DL, Harrison to 2B and Polanco to RF.

Great to see Marte hit the ball tonight and some opposite field power from McCutchen.

  219. Bizrow says:

One would think Root could use all their profits on someone a wee bit better??

  220. Arriba Wilver says:

Is that confirmed or a prediction? (As long as it didn’t burst shouldn’t be a problem).

  221. Maz in Iowa says:

    First time I’ve seen Burghman

  222. Karen22 says:

That just makes me smile! Hopefully he’s baaaaaaaaack!

  223. Milo Hamilton says:

    Multiple sources. Dunlap reports.

  224. Milo Hamilton says:

    Let’s hope it’s the last. :)

  225. Bizrow says:

So two guys being ripped by the lunatics, Lunchbox and Marte had 5 hits collectively?

Baseball is a strange game, Pedro had 2 to boot.

    One game though

  226. Maz in Iowa says:

If no Polanco yet……Snider will be playing a LOT more.BE VERY AFRAID!!!

  227. Arriba Wilver says:

    Thx

  228. Karen22 says:

    Oh CRAP!

  229. Maz in Iowa says:

Play Barmes at 2B…..not all the time, but not Harrison all the time either

  230. Arriba Wilver says:

Whoever taught Lunchbox how to slide should be fired—no matter who he’s working for today. :-)

  231. Nate83 says:

A quick search said the recovery varies anywhere from 5 days to 3 weeks although if it is ruptured I think it could take longer.

  232. The Gunner says:

That’s a damn shame about PRNW, Milo. Polanco has to get the call up when PRNW goes on the DL.

  233. Bizrow says:

Well, if PRNW is out, this does fix the problem of how to keep the Sliding Lunchbox and Tabata with the big contract still on the team for a while

BTW, where is Paul Alexander? Did he get canned from Root?

  234. The Gunner says:

No, Pauly was on earlier on the pregame show & he was quite coherent. He did a piece on Stetson Allie.

  235. Nate83 says:

I was just about to say the same thing. By waiting just 4 more games they now have 15 more days to decide what to do with Snider or Tabata.

  236. Bizrow says:

I thought that might be the problem, thx

  237. Eric Bowser says:

    The Savior arrives…….

    Polanco is coming to Pittsburgh

  238. Rock Ain't Dead says:

What’s the latest on Allie? Aside from striking out too much I’m sure…

  239. Andrew says:

The Pirates must have made a Faustian bargain for 2013, an appendectomy?

    Keep Polanco away!

  240. Maz in Iowa says:

Wirfin on the menu at Indy tonight.

  241. Maz in Iowa says:

    Keep Polanco at Indy!

  242. The Gunner says:

    Allie’s stats in AA:

    BA – .224
    OPS – .789
    HR – 11
    RBI – 30

This guy is a long way from the “show”.

  243. Nate83 says:

Can’t wait to watch him. I think he was coming up after this series anyways. A Walker DL stint isn’t worth 3 extra games but I’m excited to see him none the less.

  244. Milo Hamilton says:

Ben Roethlisberger had an appendectomy September 3, 2006 & played in a game 15 days later. Not well, a 9-0 loss at Jacksonville, but he played, And that’s football.

  245. Rock Ain't Dead says:

Thanks Gunner. I root for the kid but he’s a long shot. It would be a great story if he turns it around.

  246. Nate83 says:

MLB Network just announced breaking news concerning Polanco. Said they would talk about when they come back from commercial. That can only be that he is coming up.

  247. Eric Bowser says:

When Walk returns to health, lineup needs to be

    1. Polanco, RF
    2. McCutchen, CF
    3. Walker, 2B
    4. Davis, 1B
    5. Alvarez, 3B
    6. Marte, LF
    7. Martin, C
    8. Mercer, SS

  248. Maz in Iowa says:

Listen everyone! As resident lunatics we need to come up with a nickname for the fleet 3 in the outfield.Suggestions anyone???

  249. Nate83 says:

They actually talked about his swing a lot. Harold Reynolds really liked his swing and said he gets through the zone amazingly quick for a 6′-4″ player. Spoke about the swing looking similar to Ken Griffey Jr.

  250. Arriba Wilver says:

Not sure what Bob Walk’s health has to do with the Pirate’s lineup . . .

  251. Nate83 says:

25% – because 75% of the earth is covered by water and they cover the other 25%.

  252. theplanisworking says:

    The Super 2 Three.

    Good night, Maz.

  253. pattonbb says:

This is going to be fun to watch.

  254. Maz in Iowa says:

    Original.

  255. Maz in Iowa says:

    Take care

  256. 21sthebest says:

Harold was making some pretty nice contact himself!

  257. Eric Bowser says:

    errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  258. Maz in Iowa says:

    New thread is up

  259. dennis g says:

The fact that Cutch prefers to watch potential HR’s rather than begin running full tilt at the crack of the bat does not mean he is dogging it. He does however seem to make decisions about the outcome of a play immediately after hitting the ball. Yesterday he might have had a shot at a triple when he failed to get out of the box and ran at less than Super Cutch speed until he saw the ball get over Gomez’s head (with one out) and today he preferred to watch his HR barely clear the wall and again watch his double bang off the wall. I just don’t think superstars run like that.
