Looking ahead

I just had a short conversation with stat guru Deuce Skurcenski, who is already talking about next football season.

He can’t wait for the five games scheduled next Labor Day weekend at the Wolvarena. The expected lineup will include Thomas Jefferson, Penn-Trafford, Woodland Hills, McKeesport and Central Catholic. Five games in one day? They held five games in Wheeling, W.Va., this season and the last game didn’t end until 1 a.m.

There has to be a better way.

McKeesport Daily News sports editor Mark Kaboly is here covering Clairton. He pointed out Thomas Jefferson has lost three games in five years, and Mark has been to two of them.

I wonder if Bill Cherpak knows that.

9:20 until gametime.
