Actually, the game did start on time — 10:37 was the scheduled TV kickoff on FSN.
Clairton has seven shutouts this season, and linebacker Eddie Ball has been a big part of that. His blitz up the middle and sack of Rochester quarterback Jasson Adamson on one of the first snaps of the game set up second-and-long at the 36, an incomplete pass on third down and a punt.
Rochester did get one first down on its initial possession, but Pitt recruit Kevin Weatherspoon’s punt return to his 42 set up Clairton in good field position.
Quick observation: There is just as much speed on defense for both teams as there is on the other side of the ball.
I don’t expect much scoring. And here comes the Clairton punting unit after a long incompletion on third-and-13.
