Chartiers Valley-Hampton basketball game moved to Wednesday

Snow 1, Basketball 0

The Chartiers Valley-Hampton boys basketball game has been postponed in advance of the coming winter storm that’s forecast to drop several inches of snow in the Pittsburgh area. Expect most if not all of Friday night’s games to be canceled. The Chartiers Valley-Hampton game has been rescheduled for Wednesday (Feb. 10) at 7:30 p.m.

Chartiers Valley was ranked No. 1 by the Tribune-Review and has lost only once this season — a tournament game in San Diego. Hampton, the reigning WPIAL Class AAA champion, was ranked No. 2. The Talbots’ only loss was to Mt. Lebanon, the top-ranked team in Class AAAA.

The night’s other big game, Central Catholic at North Allegheny, has also been postponed. The Section 3-AAAA contenders will instead play Saturday (Feb. 6) at 7:15 p.m.
