Three WPIAL juniors — otherwise known as rising seniors, with the school year winding down — have been nominated for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which will be played in January at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
They are West Allegheny running back Mike Caputo and Gateway teammates Sascha Craig, a linebacker, and Dondi Kirby, a wide receiver.
The game is one of the most prestigious of the high school all-star games, boasting alumni such as Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush, Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, Terrelle Pryor and Ndamukong Suh.
