Quaker Valley senior Pat Conlan, the son of former Penn State linebacker Shane Conlan, will miss the rest of the season with a broken foot suffered last Friday, said coach Bob McIntyre. The younger Conlan, the Quakers’ starting quarterback, passed for 201 yards and three touchdowns and also rushed for a score in a loss to Steel Valley before being injured.
“Pat Conlan played one heck of a football game,” McIntyre said.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Conlan was injured on the rushing touchdown, breaking two bones in his foot. This season, he had passed for more than 900 yards and eight touchdowns.
“You hate to see him get hurt,” McIntyre said. “He wanted this season to go as long as it could go. He’s been a great leader for us.”
There are serious injuries every season, but this year seams to have been especially tough on some of the WPIAL’s most talented players.
