All six girls basketball teams from Section 1-AAA qualified for the WPIAL playoffs because Highlands (2-8), Valley (2-8) and Knoch (2-8) finished tied for fourth. On the last night of section play, Kittanning beat Valley, Hampton beat Highlands, and Mars beat Knoch to maintain the three-way tie.
