Clairton football takes second at national event

Could this year’s Clairton football team be better than last year’s state champions? What the Bears have done this summer makes it seem possible. Clairton reached the finals of the 7-on-7 Red Bull Game Breakers national championship Saturday night in Dallas, Texas, before losing 28-5 to a team from Arlington. The event was held at SMU’s Gerald J. Ford Stadium.

“We’ve gained a lot of confidence from this tournament,” Clairton coach Tom Nola told reporters in Dallas. “We are a tiny school and coming in second out of 161 teams from across the country makes me so proud of what we did out here this weekend, and feel like we represented Pennsylvania well.”

To whom concerns, Clairton has a good team. The last 3 years those boys have worked hard for where they have gone. So to say this year might be better ever year is good bunch of boys.I know from years of being there with them for the last 4 years.I have been threw all season with them and playoff games and games they play to go to Hershey. I am proud of all boys that have ben there .And there coaches who have worked hard with them.
