Plum senior basketball standout Nolan Cressler has verbally committed to continue his playing career at Cornell University.
The 6-foot-4, 185-pound combo guard also had Division I scholarship offers from Boston University, Holy Cross and St. Francis (Pa.).
Ivy League schools don’t offer athletic scholarships, but Cressler has been promised a spot on the team, as well as a financial-aid package at Cornell, located in Ithaca, N.Y.
Yale, another Ivy League school, also expressed strong interest in Cressler, who averaged 25.5 points per game last season and will be WPIAL Class AAAA’s top returning scorer. He scored 46 in one game.
Cressler carries a 3.7 grade-point average.
