A classy exit

For all the backlash brought about by the “hammer down, left lane” departure of Todd Graham from Pitt, it’s worth noting that not every major-college football coach should be stereotyped as used-car salesmen.

Even used-car salesmen are offended by that association.

Here’s an example of a classy exit: After being dismissed by Texas A&M, Mike Sherman sent a letter to every high school football coach in the state to share the wisdom he has learned over the course of his coaching career.

It’s an inspiring letter, one that¬†should be required reading for everyone who plays, coaches and covers football, at any level. ¬†
