Washington’s McKenzie dealing with knee injury

The day after suffering what’s believing to be a serious knee injury during a blowout win over Charleroi, Sean McKenzie said his son Shai’s knee was a “little better, not too much pain. Just a little bit of swelling.”
The family hopes to have an MRI done — no one was available to perform one when the McKenzies visited Washington Hospital late Friday — by this coming Wednesday.
Sean McKenzie said his son was able to walk around slightly on Saturday morning.
Shai McKenzie carried six times for 166 yards and three touchdowns during the Prexies’ 66-10 win Friday, scoring on runs of 64, 90 and 19 runs.
He was hurt while making a cut, and Sean McKenzie said late Friday that they were holding out hope it was only a sprain, though Shai was carried off the field and didn’t return to the game.
