Pitt has received a verbal commitment from Madison (Ohio) tight end Nic DiLillo, regarded as one of the nation’s top 20 prospects at his position.
DiLillo picked Pitt this weekend after reneging on his verbal commitment to Clemson last Monday. Verbal commitments are non-binding, and prospects can’t sign a binding national letter of intent until Feb. 6.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound had 46 receptions for 580 yards and four touchdowns as a junior, and is ranked the nation’s No. 12 tight end by Scout.com and No. 19 by Rivals.com.
DiLillo is the sixth player from the Class of 2008 to commit to Pitt, joining Johnstown cornerback/return specialist Antwuan Reed, Wilmington tailback Chris Burns, Greensburg Central Catholic defensive back Chris Hayden-Martin, Clairton safety Manny Williams and Thomas Jefferson offensive tackle Lucas Nix.
