Third quarter: Louisville 17, Pitt 7

LOUISVILLE – Art Carmody’s 19-yard field goal gave Louisville a 17-7 lead after three quarters in a Big East game at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

The Cardinals opened the second half with an 11-play, 67-yard drive, but Pitt stopped Anthony Allen short on third-and-3, forcing them to settle for the field goal with 9:50 left in the third quarter.

Louisville led, 14-7, at halftime.
