McCoy earns Big East honors

November 5th, 2007

Pitt freshman tailback LeSean McCoy has been named Big East Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Syracuse.

McCoy rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries in Pitt’s 20-17 victory Saturday at Heinz Field. He became the first Panthers back in seven years and only the third freshman in school history to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark. He now has 1,065 rushing yards.
