Backyard Brawl a night game

The 100th edition of the Backyard Brawl, the annual Pitt-West Virginia football rivalry, will have a nighttime kickoff on Dec. 1 but the time and channel have yet to be determined.

The game will be played at either 7:45 p.m. and televised on ESPN or at 8 p.m. and televised on ESPN2. It will be the regular-season finale for both schools. Pitt leads the series, 59-37-3.

Pitt (4-6, 2-3) plays host to South Florida (8-3, 3-3) at 12 p.m. Saturday at Heinz Field, while No. 4 West Virginia (9-1, 4-1) plays host to No. 20 Connecticut (9-2, 5-1) at 3:30 p.m. at Mountaineer Field.
