Shavonte Zellous scored a game-high 30 points to lead Pitt to a 81-61 victory over Providence this afternoon in a Big East Conference women’s basketball game at Petersen Events Center.

It was the eighth consecutive victory for the Panthers (14-3, 4-0), who also got 18 points and nine rebounds from senior center Marcedes Walker. Pitt had a 38-29 rebounding advantage and shot 52.8 percent (28 of 53) from the field.

Providence (11-6, 1-3) was led by Mi-Khida Hankins, who scored 16 points and had eight rebounds.
