Bryan Bossard was reunited with Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt today when he was named wide receivers coach for the Panthers. Bossard previously worked under Wannstedt during a pair of NFL summer coaching internships with the Chicago Bears in 1996-97.
“Our receivers are going to benefit tremendously from Bryan’s experience and teaching abilities,” Wannstedt said in a news release announcing the hiring. “He is an intelligent and enthusiastic coach of receiver play, and I feel very fortunate to bring him to the University of Pittsburgh.”
Bossard replaces Aubrey Hill, who left Pitt after three seasons for the same job with Miami (Fla.).
Prior to joining the Panthers, Bossard served as Maryland’s receivers coach for three seasons.
“I am very excited to join the Pitt football family,” Bossard said in a statement. “I am really looking forward to working on Coach Wannstedt’s staff and getting to know our wide receiver group in the coming days. Pitt football is on the rise and we are going to work to achieve great things in 2008.”
