Pitt landed its first recruit from the Class of 2009 today when Stoneboro Lakeview offensive lineman Cory King made a verbal commitment to the Panthers.
The 6-foot-5, 310-pound King, who picked Pitt over scholarship offers from Bowling Green and Minnesota, projects as an offensive guard. He also was receiving interest from Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
