RB Graham picks Panthers

August 16th, 2008

Pitt received its 11th football commitment from the Class of 2008 when Elizabeth (N.J.) running back Raymond Graham picked the Panthers after visiting for their scrimmage today on the South Side.

Graham chose the Panthers over scholarship offers from Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan State and North Carolina State. Penn State also was showing interest.

The 5-foot-9, 187-pound Graham rushed for 1,290 yards and 13 touchdowns as a sophomore, but was limited to four games last season by a broken collarbone. He rushed for more than 700 yards and scored 12 touchdowns.

Graham is Pitt’s third running back recruit from New Jersey in this class, joining Blairstown Academy’s Dion Lewis and Montvale St. Joseph’s Kevin Adams. Rivals.com ranks Graham the state’s No. 5 player.
