Third quarter: Bowling Green 20, Pitt 17

Bowling Green used a nine-play, 59-yard drive capped by Anthony Turner’s 8-yard touchdown run and holds a 20-17 lead over No. 25 Pitt this afternoon in the season opener before 45,063 at Heinz Field.

The Falcons converted a fourth-and-1 at midfield with a 3-yard run by tailback Chris Bullock, then used a 22-yard pass to fullback Jimmy Scheidler to get deep into Pitt territory.

Turner, a wide receiver, took a shotgun snap and scored the go-ahead points with 3:53 remaining in the third quarter. Pitt defensive end Greg Romeus blocked the point-after kick.
