Brytus, McKillop earn Big East honors

Two Pitt football players earned Big East player of the week honors today, as middle linebacker Scott McKillop was named defensive player of the week for the second consecutive week and punter Dave Brytus was named special teams player of the week.

McKillop finished with a game-high 10 tackles in the Panthers’ 21-20 victory over Iowa Saturday, adding a pivotal sack and three tackles for loss. Brytus averaged 47.8 yards on eight punts, with long kicks of 60 and 57 yards, the latter pinning the Hawkeyes at their own 1-yard line with 2:28 remaining in the fourth quarter.
