McCoy, McKillop earn Big East honors


Pitt tailback LeSean McCoy and linebacker Scott McKillop swept the Big East offensive and defensive player of the week awards, respectively, for their performances in the Panthers’ 26-21 victory over then-No. 10 South Florida last Thursday.

McCoy rushed for a game-high 142 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner with 4:43 remaining, on 28 carries and had three receptions for 23 yards.

McKillop had a team-high 12 tackles — all solo, including a stop on a fake field goal — three tackles for loss and two sacks, as Pitt held USF to 219 yards below its season average.It is the second time McKillop has earned Big East honors, with the other coming after Pitt’s Sept. 6 victory over Buffalo.
