Pitt-Rutgers won’t be televised

The Pitt-Rutgers football game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff Oct. 25 at Heinz Field but will not be televised.

Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt also said at his weekly news conference that redshirt junior weak-side linebacker Shane Murray’s partially torn ACL in his right knee “has not progressed the way we would have hoped or Shane would have hoped” and said the staff is “in the process of re-evaluating what we’re going to do, unfortunately.”

Fifth-year senior Austin Ransom is listed as the starter at weak-side linebacker, with redshirt freshman Tristan Roberts the backup when No. 23 Pitt (4-1) visits Navy (4-2) in Annapolis, Md., at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
