The 101st Backyard Brawl between Pitt and West Virginia Friday is sold out, Pitt announced today.
It marks Pitt’s first sellout at 65,050-seat Heinz Field since the 2005 season opener against Notre Dame, which marked the first game of the Dave Wannstedt era.
Pitt (7-3, 3-2 Big East) holds a 60-37-3 series edge over West Virginia (7-3, 4-1), including a 13-9 victory over the then-No. 2 Mountaineers last December in Morgantown. The teams have split the past eight meetings since 2000.
The game will have a noon kickoff and will be nationally televised on ABC and broadcast locally on WTAE Channel 4 and the Pittsburgh ISP Sports Network, including flagship radio stations 3WS (94.5 FM) and Fox Sports 970 (WBGG-AM).
