Pitt announced today the dates of its non-conference schedule and that it was lowering season-ticket prices for the 2009 football season.
The Panthers, who finished 9-4 last season, will open the season against Youngstown State Sept. 5 at Heinz Field and will play home games against Navy Sept. 19 and Notre Dame Nov. 14. Pitt will play at Buffalo Sept. 12 and at North Carolina State Sept. 26.
The Big East schedule will be released at a later date.
Pitt season tickets will see only a $10 increase, despite adding a seventh game to the schedule after playing six home games last fall. Tickets are $82 for upper end-zone seats, $109 for lower end zone and upper sideline seats, $154 for select lower and upper sideline seats — although some require a nominal donation — and $280 for club seats.
The club seats require a donation of either $250 or $500 to the Panther Club.
Student season tickets remain $25.
Pitt also will play host to a Spring Football Festival for the annual Blue-Gold Game April 11 at Heinz Field, with Panthers players conducting a free clinic for boys and girls ages 12-and-under and the Pitt coaching staff holding a “chalk-talk” session. Both events are from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
