Pitt received a verbal commitment today from Penn Hills defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who became the Panthers’ first WPIAL recruit and second overall recruit from the Class of 2010.

The 6-foot, 260-pound Donald registered 14 sacks, two interceptions and had and an 83-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown that made the highlights on ESPN’s SportsCenter. He picked Pitt over scholarship offers from Akron, Rutgers and Toledo, where his brother, Archie, is a starting linebacker for the Rockets.

“Pitt’s the best school for me,” Donald said.
