Spadafora opponent set for Sept. 30 show

Jermaine “Too Sweet” White has been named the opponent for Paul Spadafora to headline a Sept. 30 pro boxing card at the Heinz Field-VIP Tent.

Spadafora (42-0-1, 17 knockouts), a former IBF lightweight champion from McKees Rocks, will fight White (17-3, 9 KOs), of Gary, Ind., in a 10-round junior welterweight bout.

They share a common opponent in Ruben Galvan, and both scored decisive victories. Spadafora beat Galvan in a 10-round unanimous decision in April 2004, the first comeback bout for Spadafora after his October 2003 arrest for shooting his girlfriend.

White scored a seventh-round technical knockout of Galvan in December 2007.

Tickets for the fight are $100 for ringside seats, $50 for reserved and $25 for general admission, and can be purchased at the Exercise Warehouse Gym & Fitness Center, Mitchell’s Restaurant & Bar, Downtown, and Blue Eagle Sports in McKees Rocks.
